Raiken's Letter to Falke-Vi3105

The weight is unbearable though. It weighs heavier every night. Being a commander is almost worse than actually being in the trenches. for I have watched countless men die, and it is expected of me to hold my bile and bite my tongue. oh, the sorrow their families must feel. the naivety of them. The power is adrenaline incarnate, but the pain is worse than death.

living is such sorrow when you alone are to blame for the deaths of countless others. it pays to be cruel, distant, and calculating. I can't remember the last time I felt love. the last time I was touched by some other.... not myself. I yearn for humanity, but to cling to it is to open yourself to be wounded by your actions. and so, this is my resignation. this letter is to be passed down to the next in charge to inform them of my duties. Rabengeier (RBGR), finally.

Just like their namesake, Rabengeiers are built to deal with any kind of unsanitary situation that might present a biological hazard that might lead to contamination. They have a neutral stance on death, decomposition and vermin, which helps them keep a calm attitude when handling hazardous waste.

(Also, since they have fanart of them doing morgue work (thanks Jay and Kettle, I'm giving you both a kiss on the forehead), I've decided to add that they know how to fulfill the role of a morgue technician, but they don't like to do it because ghosts (see Replika Issues)).

Replika Issues:

Rabengeiers firmly believe in an afterlife. They see crime scene cleaning as a way to help ghosts move to the afterlife, since afterwards they don't have anything that would tie them down to this mortal plane, which helps them move on. Their work ethic is heavily grounded on the existence of ghost and their power to haunt or curse those they find disrespectful:

Aside from that, while they require lots of socialization out of work, they struggle with taking initiative in social gatherings, which is why they tend to pair often with social replikas like EULR units. In that same sense, they enjoy hanging out and participating in group activities with others, but first they have to be explicitly told they can participate in order for them to join.

Rabengeiers tend to form bonds (either platonic or romantic), which also makes them more resistant to persona degradation. Those bonds usually happen with Eules or other Rabengeiers, however, given enough time, they can get close to any other replika type (in fact, I have a Rabengeier and Storch par that I might introduce someday).

Other's perception of RBGR units:

Rabengeiers are often avoided by the average citizen, as they're seen as bringers of back luck due to their strong associations with the dead. Since Rabengeiers aren't used to social interaction and don't tend to participate unless directly asked to, they can come of as asocial to those not familiarized with them.

Common situation when you are designed to bodyguard political bastards leaders and in addition to your duties there inserts babysitting

Juwel is regular bodyguard of Feruza's family residence. She replaced decommissioned schwalbe past some time after birth of Feruza.

Feruza's family is Rotfront scribes, they manage popular publishing house, that was approved by Heimat. Respect of the Nation made them very authoritative and vulnerable for "traitors", so they got protection of swallows cadre

Little Feruza got strange affection towards specific schwalbe in her house, she liked her that much she easily recognised her and never mistakes. Was it the fact that this schwalbe was new and innocent one or bioresonant reasons not clear. But it's clear as day, baby loved her maybe little more than her own mother.

And Juwel took care of little one. Spending time with Ruzie, the nickname she called her in private, gave her so much joy. The mother of Feruza didn't passed it as a problem, Juwel was making her work and even relieved part of eule's work of caring about the baby(or she just was too busy to care about it). Bodyguard used to teach her board and card games: from chess to "fool"; she considered that develops cunning.

Juwel is bioresonant, she could understand Feruza's emotions, needs and feelings, if she was lying or hiding something, but she tried to never use it against her. Yet in childhood Feruza had complicated relationship with her mom, older she becomes, tougher things gets. Juwel found it... Upsetting.

OKAY SO disclaimer She's not finished yet cauze uh im too gay

But here's my concept for Geier, the Vulture! I know others probably made better Geier concepts but fuck it i love vultures and i wanted to make my own.

Geier units in my head could be something akin to Exterminators , a sort of. Clean up unit as a response to any bioresonant fenomena or any massive "casulties". They also serve as reserve back up in case a Falke goes a bit rouge since they would be made with bioresonant supressors built in. Like an opposite to what Kolibris and Falkes have. This module makes them a lot more resistant to any bioresonance shenanigans but also makes them. More numb in a way? They literaly think . Less sorta. Not in dumb way just kinda. Doesn'r get nosy or curious , doesn't question many orders or things outside of their objectives. They're there to burn corpses and burn bioresonant fuckery. And they do it well.

Im still deciding on the coloring but I'm torn between black motives or orange . NOW A FUN THING is that Geiers have a built in mask! It's very similair to Starling ones but the very small mouth part being the only removable part. The vents on the side serve for better breathing and filtering during clean up and burning. The visor is fully detachable though and ofc is anti heat equiped. They also have canister ports on their backs for ease of attacking the gasoline tanks that hook up to the flamethrowers. Height wise they average between a Star and an Ara and have more animal style hind legs to ease movement for any big mushy places.

Personality wise Geiers are. Scarily calm and blunt. Straight to the point , short stern sentences. They don't take shit from anyone though sdhdh they're built to face off Falkes so they will gladly spar with other Protektors too. Which happens quite a bit as a source of stabilization , along with maintaining their guns and flamethrowers. They don't need much regarding hobbies or stabilization since the supression module already makes them. More apathetic. Makes them kinda loners , squads go up to max 5 with the members of Geier cadre being in the sort of a dynamic where they don't talk at all in their dorm but they will loyaly die for eachother without a question.

Saying all that deep down they are not that bad to get along with , they're just intimidating and blunt. Stuff like a stray Eule asking for help with moving supplies or an Ara needing some metal ripped out , Geiers will help without question. They are just quiet about it. They uh do have a tendecy to come off as extreme , specialy with fresh Geiers reacting to anything suspicious , yanking an Ara from vents on accident or cornering a coughing gestalt dhdhhd , but this mellows out with experience. If any replika decides to warm up to a Geier and put in the time and effort, Geiers are terrifingly loyal and good companions ,just very specific and introverted.

A slight sidenote , since Nation ofc wouldn't like a replika thats fully immune to bioresonant mental checks , the mind and thoughts of Geiers can be accesed through their neuro-ports by manualy plugging in. They have weekly check-ins like that with either a Kolibri or Falke or any of the leading figure at their facility.

The Eules are finally here! They are far from the only ones around, but you'll be seeing these gals plenty. They certainly make Kestrel's job (and existence) a lot more bearable and complement each other quite well on that front.

As per usual, some character yap and extra notes below 👇

EULR-SC417 "Limette"

The current head nurse at SC-4. She's the one handling most of the hospital paperwork, taking inventory of medical supplies, making sure everyone is staying on schedule... which includes reminding them about taking breaks! She often takes initiative, has the necessary insight into how everything functions, never leaves a job unfinished, and is very well-organized with her work.

Her range of responsibilities being wider than the average nurse's keeps her pretty busy, but it's what takes a lot of the pressure off of Kestrel. Limette genuinely enjoys the tasks some people dread and she's damn good at it, too... the compliments she gets for it are a nice bonus. She's even garnered the respect of the more skeptical Gestalt medics.

The more energetic one of the two, you will never see her sitting still for too long, even when she doesn't have anything particular to be doing. Often found practicing her dance moves in the hallway or checking in with the other Eules during her downtime.

Sometimes wears her hair in a small ponytail during work. Likes to style and play with other people's hair as well, it's a frequent evening activity at their dorm.

EULR-SC418 "Kirsche"

A regular nurse and Kestrel's assistant. She is always present during operations and other procedures that require an extra set of hands. She is also the one usually tending to Kestrel's patients, most of whom are Replikas, and overseeing their recovery. Definitely a follower rather than a leader, but she puts great effort into her work to ensure everyone is well taken care of.

Aside from filling in the role of a surgical assistant, Kirsche takes to tending to Kestrel directly in most cases. She's always there to calm and comfort her, providing a lot of reassurance, kind words, a shoulder to cry on... and perhaps more. While Kestrel has a strong bond with both of the Eules and the entire cadre is very fond of her, Kirsche being there for her makes their relationship all that much closer.

The more mellow one of the two and a total sweetheart, takes full advantage of her breaks to sit down and relax. Believes that personal comfort is important and encourages her peers to tend to their own needs and not just to their patients. Likes to hum or sing quietly while going about her tasks, sometimes the others join in and get a song stuck in their heads for the rest of the day.

Her hair is always a little messy, with one unruly strand sticking up on the top no matter what she does. The other Eules think it's cute.

Some additional Eule stuff

These two gals are part of a group all nicknamed after fruits! Not all of them are nurses, but they're all good friends. More of them shall appear in the future...

They wear bracelets made out of sea glass. It was a whole thing that they started at some point because of some Ara's off-handed comment about all the junk in the shallows and now every new Eule gets to make their own. For the fruit nickname group, they correspond to the colors of their namesakes.

They definitely need a little more time and ideas to be fully fleshed out. I'm so excited to keep developing them, especially now that I've got a few more ideas for the overarching plot. They are here for all the teasing and smooching Kestrel purposes though >:3
