Gallifreyan History 101 is done

Quite the adventure.

There is no real way to completely describe how I feel about this class. I loved making it, coming up with ideas with my partner in crime, learning even more about the Doctor's, finding interesting things to watch and more.

It was an eye opening experience, not only because I got to stand up in front of 22 kids and talk about something I love, but also the fact that teachers don't have it easy (which I knew, but got some more insight) and they deal with obnoxious and disobedient teens every day. Not only do they plan curriculum, activities and the schedule but they have to be extremely passionate about what they do. The water the flowers in their garden with knowledge.

Honestly, I wish some things had gone WAY differently. There was a couple students who were CONSTANTLY commenting on everything I said and did, poking fun at me and just being plain old obnoxious. Yeah, teasing me, I get that, it's obviously amusing (for some weird ass reason) I felt as though I didn't get as much respect from said students as I deserved.

Just because I am a student myself, doesn't mean that you have to be completely annoying ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

If I had the chance to pick the kids who would be in my class, I would have. Along with re-doing some of the curriculum, tightening the belt on discipline and adding more things into each day.

The overall review was a good one, everyone seemed to enjoy it for what it was, and most hoped to see the class happen again. I know Kyle and Larry were both impressed with what it turned out to be. Mike, our principal/dean was VERY enthusiastic, and called me a bad ass.

I couldn't have done this without Alisa, it was a pleasure to do something like this with someone with the same interest in Doctor Who as I. Sammi also assisted, and did some sub teaching when Alisa was absent. I'd also like to thank Chris for being there in the afternoon, and making smart ass retorts to a certain obnoxious student. (:

Even though I don't see teaching in my future, I do believe this was a grand project, and it offered a lot of insight, experience and amusement. I did have a lot of fun, despite some negativity. It's a stressful job, and NO one, really understands unless they are in the same position as I.

Hopefully, Kyle will find students in the future who have the same interests and can learn from our mistakes, and teach a even better class.

I am very proud of all my students, and I will remember this for a very very long time.

Not to mention the fact that my internship AND senior project are now out of the way.
