Damn not me relating to another fictional character who has to unlearn their hyper-independence and self-sabotaging disciplined behavior because their parents who were either so stern with them or barely in their lives rarely allowed them any sense of freedom even as they went into adulthood no longer in their grasps and reach but phone calls were the only lines of connection and yet that still flatlined the love they wish they received but weren’t earned of as a kid so they received it from people who helped them get out their shells and really into themselves.

I’ve been wanting to post fan art from Resolve for forever now, but I was so terrified of spoiling other people on here TT this game is literally so good that I would feel so bad if I spoiled any part of it for someone, it’s so exciting when you see things happen in the game!

Some thoughts in general on Resolve! Oh my god TT that scene with the Kazuma revival.. it literally makes me want to CRY when I watch it, or listen to it or THINK about it or-

The expressions they all have in that scene never fail to get to me. Kazuma’s initial look, then his expression softening as he finally sees Ryunosuke and Susato, THR FACE RYUU MAKES WHEN HE ACTUALLY GETS TO SEE KAZUMA IN FULL?? they should’ve gotten to hug, guys. The line where Kazuma says something like “thank you for guiding my friend here, when I could not..” !!?????!! STOP IT FOREVER..

also, I’ve come to really like Homumiko as a ship, their relationship feels very genuine and warm to me. There was an incredible post on here by user I’m-on-speeeeeed talking about how the usual deduction theme is in a very difficult and clunky time signature, but in the deduction with Mikotoba.. the time signature in Partners becomes the easiest, most natural one, working together seamlessly like a well oiled machine. They literally complete each other to the extent that even the MUSIC is affected???? Oh my god TT this game really is so freaking good, I wish there was a prequel game with Sholmes and Mikotoba as partners, or maybe even an investigations style spin off, the same way you get to play as Gregory Edgeworth. I would buy that so fast actually

spoilers for the back half of abbott elementary season 3 below so read at your own risk! but I need to discuss these last few episode titles with someone bc i’m losing my mind.

3x11 ‘Double Date’ - now this could easily be melissa & the fire captain + jacob & the paramedic but wouldn’t it be crazy if janine and manny got together in the next few episodes and then gregory got jealous and came up with a fake gf but then got trapped in a ‘let’s go on a double date’ situation??

3x12 ‘Mother’s Day’ - Vanetta Teagues making a return? Would love to see Taraji again or maybe Ayo? Or maybe we’ll finally see Taylor & Gina together on screen celebrating with Barbara? Either way I’m here for whatever this entails

3x13 ‘Smith Playground’ - Now the cast was seen filming here the other day so I knew that was coming eventually but I figured it would be the finale because historically all of the finales have been field trips? so the change up is interesting.

3x14 ‘Party’ - this could be a party for literally anything but I’m banking on it being a celebration for janine deciding to accept a full time position with the district after being extended the offer. I would love to see a dramatic last minute pivot from janine where she decides to come back to abbott as a teacher instead of stick with the district after seeing all of the people she loves gathered around, showing up for her, wanting what’s best for her. and then it turns into a ‘welcome home’ sort of party instead.

anyways I could theorize for hours but lmk your thoughts!!

Was tagged by @missroserose (thanks!) and BOY am I bad at reading books these days, so this kinda made me feel bad. (i'm not counting fanfics in this, even though I have several of those printed in book form)

1) The Last book I read:

"Sovande jättar", "Gudarna vaknar" and "Bara människa" (it's a triology) by Silvain Neuvel. (in English: "Sleeping Giants", Waking Gods" and "Only Human")

2) A book I recommend:

"The flat share" by Beth O'Leary for some light reading and feelgood feels. It's so cute!

3) A book that I couldn’t put down:

"The Martian" by Andy Weir. I literally got late back to work from my lunch break because I Had To Finish It.

4) A book I’ve read twice (or more):

I mean, lots of them. If I have a favorite, I will return to it like I would an old friend. To mention a few, "Grottbjörnens folk" by Jean M. Auel (English: "Clan of the cave bear") and the follow-up, "Hästarnas dal" (English: "Valley of the horses", I think) because I'm a sucker for someone just ... surviving and thriving. "Dimestore magic" and "Bitten" by Kelley Armstrong. Trilogin om Frihetskrigen (The Freedom War Triology?) by Niklas Krog. "Vingmästarens dotter" by Bertil Mårtensson. And of couse "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

5) A book on my TBR:

"Runaway Max" by Brenna Yovanoff. One of these days, I'll get to it ... at least the Billy scenes, lol

6) A book I’ve put down:

"Call Me by Your Name" by André Aciman. I didn't actually put it down because I was determined to finish it, but it was a struggle. I'm sure it is very good, but for someone who isn't into a) romance or b) sex, there just wasn't that much else for me to latch onto in that book. Not much ... plot.

7) A book on my wish list:

Gregory Crewdson, "Eveningside 2012-2022", but I've been hesitant to buy it so far because I can't rationalize spending that much on a book. But listen, he is a fantastic photographer and I've loved his work ever since I first saw a documentary about him on TV, ages ago.

8) A favorite book from childhood:

"Skattsökarna" by E. Nesbit (in English: "The Story of the Treasure Seekers"). Man I did NOT know what all those currency meant when I was a kid but it seemed FANTASTIC to have that many friends and adventures. <3

9) A book you would give to a friend:

"I'm with stupid" by Gene Weingarten and Gina Barreca. It was a fun and eye-opening book, lol (that is actually due for a re-read soon).

10) A book of Poetry or Lyrics you own:

"Complete poems" by Dorothy Parker. I have read the whole thing and I love her. I love Dorothy's poetry. So witty, so RHYMING.

11) A nonfiction book you own:

"Saxat ur Starlet" by Kristina Öhman. It has me ROLLING laughing. Starlet was a comic that I read a lot when I was a kid, and this book has taken random images from those comics and added commentary, and it is HIL-AR-IOUS.

what are your thoughts on Ava from Abbott Elementary? Idk if it's just me but there are times where I can't stand her like how she keeps harassing Gregory and the way she can be a bully to Janine. I get that her character is supposed to be similar to Michael from The Office and Gina from b99 but still

Ok so first of all sorry for waiting over a month to answer this. At first I didn't want to overstep and talk about how much of a downgrade she is for Black women representation. But I think its because the creator Quinta is black she felt that she could put in such an offensive character like Ava. Like I've seen all of the first season and half of this season and I am glad that Ava is growing and I'd like to hear your thoughts on the latest episodes but yeah I think its because I just left working for a school that I can recognize that even decent administrator can cause damage if they're not well informed. So like for me the biggest suspension of disbelief comes from the fact that Ava isn't white you know? Like the fetishization of Gregory and her influencer status... Idk I just don't see many Black women be influencers you know? I'm not saying they can't be just that Black women in general with large followings that I follow are generally really good about intersectional feminism and talking about racism and Ava... is like constantly allowed to fail you know? idk idk I just feel like I can't make a video about this because I'm not black you know?

HL & Portal / Wings of Fire crossover time bc I like dragons and both of these franchises and I want to get it off somewhere before I made art of them

This crossover is basically just the characters of Half-Life and Portal in a Wings of Fire setting. The worldbuilding is altered slightly to accustom them more, Pantala and Pyrrhia still exists and tribes from both continents are well-acquainted with each other to a degree that's beyond what the books depicted, tribes from one continent are frequently sighted in another and are found to even inhabit them.

Animus dragons (god forbid they can just thanos snap the Combine and Xen flora-fauna invasion out of existence) and scavengers don't exist in this crossover. So essentially all characters are just dragons, and humanoid entities are also dragon-esque in design

Black Mesa and Aperture Science are located on Pantala, their company names remain unchanged because I have no idea on what else to call them lol. The events of HL2 and so forth takes place in Pyrrhia

Anyway on with the characters themselves keep in mind these are only humans (and probably some robots) so there'd be no humanoid aliens like Vorts or the Nihilanth. Also because I said in the context of the world that means their names will follow the naming rule of the tribe I designated them with so there won't be last names (but I'm tempted to call Gordon Freeman 'The One Free Wing' lmao) I won't show their names yet bc some aren't finalized yet 😭
