THE SIMS 4
Beyblade Edition
Here I am again! Three years later but details.
I reopened the game to show the characters to a friend and noticed that I had made Yuri just wrong, so...I "fixed" Yuri.

Of course, there is also the less disheveled and more elegant version for big occasions u.u

I also had fun creating his sports outfit...but it didn't feel right to write "Aky, I love you💘" on it while he's hitting on Julia, so I settled for the team logo.

While Boris was surfing the net in a hormonally crazed "very flirty" state (with whom?!) I realized that the little fish Raul is dead.

I am archiving my April fools day ACD chapter here so when I take it down tomorrow people will still be able to find it! Thanks so much to everyone who read it and told me they got a good laugh, I had a ton of fun making it ❤️ (Also here's a link to ACD in case you want to read the actual fanfic and not just my joke chapter)
Hi my name is Rei Dark'ness Dementia Raven Akabane and I have short slate black hair (that's how I got my name) with spiky tips and steely grey eyes like a knife and a lot of people tell me I look like Champion Lucas (AN: if u don't know who he is get da hell out of here!).
I don't think I'm related to Lucas but I wish I was because he's a major fucking hottie. I'm a Pokemon trainer but my Pokeballs are all made of Red Chain because I'm wayyyy better than the other trainers. I'm also in the Survey Corps and I work for the Galaxy team in Hisui where I'm at rank ten (I'm only 16 tho LOL). I'm a badass (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly bloody ripped up uniforms because I get in so many fights with dangerous Pokemon ( I always win tho!!). I love Anthe's clothing stall and I buy all my clothes from there.
For example today I was wearing a bloody Survey Corps uniform with a matching red hat (because of the blood lol) and black eyeliner to make me look scarier. I was walking down the main street of Jubilife Village. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of security corp members stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.
"Hi Rei!" shouted a voice. I looked up. It was…. Volo!
"What's up Volo?" I asked.
"Nothing." he said shyly.
But then, I heard my friend Akari call me and I had to go away.
The next day I woke up in my quarters. It was snowing and raining again. I opened the door of my cabinet and drank some sake from a bottle I had. My cabinet was oak wood and inside it was all the stuff I got from killing all those Pokemon out in the field.
I got out of my futon and took of my Kalos t-shirt which I used for pajamas. Instead, I put on a Fancy Cyndaquil Kimono, a Chatot feather necklace, and red sandals. I scowled into the mirror scarily and made my hair even messier than before.
My friend, Akari woke up then and grinned at me. She flipped her long waist-length Slate black hair and opened her knife grey eyes. She put on her Survey Corps uniform with a matching bandana and shoes. We put on our makeup (lots of black eyeliner and mascara so no one would fuk with us!!!)
"OMFG, I saw you talking to Volo yesterday!" she said excitedly.
"Yeah? So?" I said, blushing.
"Do you like Volo?" she asked as we went out of the Quarters and into Jubilife Village.
"No I so fucking don't!" I shouted.
"Yeah right!" she exclaimed. Just then, Volo walked up to me.
"Hi." he said.
"Hi." I replied flirtily.
"Guess what." he said.
"What?" I asked.
"Well, Irida and some of the others are having a concert at Prelude beach." he told me.
"Oh. My. Fucking. God!" I screamed. I love Irida! She's my favorite musician, besides myself of course.
"Well…. do you want to go with me?" he asked.
I gasped.
On the night of the concert I put on I put on a Fancy Cyndaquil Kimono, a Chatot feather necklace, and red sandals.
I ruffled my hair and made it look all spiky. I felt a little depressed bc I missed my parents, so I cried and made my mascara run down my face. I tried to read a depressing book while I waited for it to dry and I listened to Chatot sing in my voice.
I painted my nails black and put on TONS of black eyeliner. Then I put on some black lipstick. I drank some sake so I was ready to go to the concert.
I went outside. Volo was waiting there in front of the Ginko guild cart. He was wearing a Ginko Guild Uniform (they would be selling stuff at the concert too), huge boots, black nail polish and a little eyeliner (AN: A lot fo kewl boiz wer it ok!).
"Hi Volo!" I said in a depressed voice.
"Hi Rei." he said back.
We hopped into the Ginko Guild cart and Machoke pulled us to the prelude beach. On the way we listened excitedly to Chatot sing while we both smoked pokemon weed and drugs. When we got there, we both hopped out of the cart. We went to the mosh pit at the front of the stage and jumped up and down as we listened to Melli sing along to Irida's flute.
"You come in cold, you're covered in blood
They're all so happy you've arrived
The doctor cuts your cord, hands you to your mom
She sets you free into this life." sang Melli (I don't own da lyrics 2 dat song).
"Melli is so fucking hot." I said to Volo, pointing to him as he sung, filling the beach with his amazing voice.
Suddenly Volo looked sad.
"What's wrong?" I asked as we moshed to the music. Then I caught on.
"Hey, it's ok I don't like him better than YOU!" I said.
"Really?" asked Volo sensitively and he put his arm around me all protective.
"Really." I said. "Besides I don't even really know Melli and he's going out with Adaman. I fucking hate that poser, he's no where near as cool as Irida." I said disgustedly, thinking of his stupid smirking face.
The night went on really well, and I had a great time. So did Volo. After the concert, we drank some sake and asked Irida and Melli for their autographs and photos with them. We got souvenir concert charms. Volo and I crawled back into the Ginko Guild cart, but Volo didn't go back into Jubilife Village, instead he drove the cart into… the temple of sinnoh!
"VOLO!" I shouted. "What the fuck do you think you are doing?"
Volo didn't answer but he stopped the cart and he walked out of it. I walked out of it too, curiously.
"What the fucking hell?" I asked angrily.
"Rei?" he asked.
"What?" I snapped.
Volo leaned in extra-close and I looked into his grey eye which revealed so much depressing sorrow and evilness and then suddenly I didn't feel mad anymore. he suddenly ripped his clothes off and I got excited for a minute but he was wearing some sort of weird gold and white outfit under it. He still looked pretty hot though so I was ok with it.
"Rei this world is stupid. We should just force Arceus make a new one or something."
I gasped and put my perfectly painted black fingernails up to my black lips.
"Oh my god are you serious?!"
Volo shrugged.
"I mean yeah why not. I have a Giratina we can use to do it."
And then all of a sudden someone ran up to us….
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING YOU MOTHERFUKERS!"
It was….KAMADO!
Kamado made Volo and I follow him. He kept shouting at us angrily.
"You ludacris fools!" he shouted.
I started to cry tears of mascara down my battle scarred face. Volo comforted me. When we went back to the Galaxy Team HQ Kamado took us to Captain Cyllene and Ginter who were both looking very angry.
"They were planning to destroy the whole world at the temple of sinnoh!" he yelled in a furious voice.
"Why did you do such a thing, you mediocre dunces?" asked Ginter.
"How dare you?" demanded Cyllene.
And then Volo shrieked. "BECAUSE I HATE THIS UNFAIR WORLD!"
Everyone was quiet. Kamado and Cyllene still looked mad but Ginter said.
"Fine. Very well. You may go to your quarters."
Volo and I went out of the while there Galaxy Team glared at us.
"Are you okay, Rei?" Volo asked me gently.
"Yeah I guess." I lied. I went to my quarters and brushed my teeth and my hair and changed into my favorite Kalos Tshirt and shorts with red sandals. When I came out….
Volo was standing outside my front door, and he had a Giratina with him and the sky was bloody red. He was wearing that weird gold and white outfit again. I was so flattered, even though he wasn't supposed to be there. We hugged and kissed. After that, we hopped onto the back of Giratina and flew off together to go end the stupid fucking world!!
The end.

May u do a headcanon of the Hashira like their reaction getting tickled and their tickle spots?
I
*evil laugh* ok ok, but you guys didn't hear it from me, okay? It will go for sensitivity-
1. Giyuu Tomioka:
🌊 Tickle spots: Ribs and armpits
🌊 Giyuu was pretty good at holding back his laughter before. But after everyone found out what was ticklish, he became the main victim of almost everyone.
🌊 Giyuu literally acts like a child, he kicks into the air, tries to deny it, begs for them to stop, quickly embarrassed and covers his flushed face with the sleeves of his haori.
🌊 He hates to admit it but sometimes he provokes some hashiras to tickle him, he kind of likes the attention he gets
🌊 He likes to be tickled softly-
🌊 Sanemi usually tickles him while kissing his neck and ears (yes, he also had ticklish ears-)
🌊He can't stand the teasing, they embarrass him more
🌊 He always snorts and squeals
2. Tokito Muichiro
🌫️ Worst spots: Belly and belly button
🌫️ Muichiro used to be the same as Giyuu, he didn't show himself to be ticklish at all. In addition, for some reason, on many occasions, he did not feel until someone told him. 🌫️ After regaining his memories, he began to remember and become more vulnerable than when he was a child. 🌫️ He curls up on himself to try to defend himself, he puts his hands on his stomach and constantly waves his arms and legs in the air, as if he were fighting with him-
🌫️ Gentle tickles immediately wrecks him, it only works on his belly, other places not so much.
🌫️ According to Ginko, Muichiro is extremely sensitive to feathers and he wants no one to find out about it because he can even faint from so much tickling.
3. Iguro Obanai
🐍 Worst spots: Lower back and behind his knees
🐍 And yep, Iguro is quite sensitive to tickling. Only in these places, if it is in any other place, be sure that he will not laugh and, on the contrary, he will end up destroying you.
🐍 Kaburamaru, Rengoku and Mitsuri are the only ones who have been granted tickling
🐍 Kaburamaru loves to get inside his owner's uniform and gently slide down his owner's back.
🐍 Kaburamaru has told me that his knees start to shake and he falls to the ground touching his stomach, he starts spinning on the ground like a top, he threatens you and yells when you get to a bad place
🐍 Iguro blushes under his bandages and Mitsuri loves this very much. But she loves it so much more because his ears also turn red from embarrassment!
4. Sanemi Shinazugawa
🌪️ Worst spots: Hips, hip bones, and the space between his armpits and ribs
🌪️ Sanemi has always been the tickle monster for his younger brothers. But when they all agreed, they could cut him down and make him laugh a lot.
🌪️ It is easy to catch him, although if he kicks you and in the worst case he will want to bite you-
🌪️ He is always picked on and caught by the TenRenMitsu team. And between the 3 of them they are in charge of reducing it to a small ball.
🌪️ His scars are ticklish-
🌪️ Sanemi can't really tolerate tickling properly.
🌪️ He will kick, try to hit you, grab his ler's wrists with whatever force he has, writhe if caught, his laugh will go silent depending on where and how you attack him.
🌪️ He is also sensitive to soft tickles, which makes him squeal and be embarrassed.
Well. Here Tengen, Rengoku and Mitsuri are tied. The 3 are proud to be 'Tickle Monsters', but even they themselves can't control their laughter when someone tickles them.
5. Kyojuro Rengoku
🔥 Worst spots: Sides, knees, thighs, calves and feet
🔥 It is without a doubt the worst tickle monster that can be among the hashiras. But that does not make him immune to the fact that he is a human and that he is also ticklish and many
🔥 If his voice is already loud, his laugh reaches new heights.
🔥 Rengoku will sometimes agree to play and just try his best not to indulge you. But when you get a perfect and excessively sweet place, the story changes
🔥 He usually likes Rengoku at first, but his despair grows little by little, he closes his eyes with tears, turns to the sides, denies and throws pleading looks.
🔥 If you catch him in a good mood, he may even grant you the permission/privilege to trash him. 🔥 Trust me, you can smash him with raspberries, he hates them because they tickle him the most
6. Tengen Uzui
✨ Worst spots: Armpits, abs, thighs and feet
✨ His main lers are his wives. Uzui really wants to be tickled, his wives are fed up with him always assuring that he will go to hell for what he has committed and since he did not understand, they had to be more persuasive
✨ At first he resists, a small smile forming on his face and looking away with his arms crossed. But if you go on and on, he'll try to push his ler away as far as he can. Doesn't last long-
✨ He will fall to the ground on his knees or on his back, depending on the position you find him in.
✨ But if something is certain, it will start to roll on itself or it will become a ball to cover its laughter
✨ He will assure you of revenge, so you must run even faster than him, but still. Even if you escape, he won't forget what you did and well...
✨ It is quite sensitive to raspberries and children's games. Games like this little piggy or itsy bitsy spider, it will beg you for mercy and to stop (information given by Kocho)
7. Mitsuri Kanroji
💖 Worst spots: Hips, waist, legs and sides
💖 Kanroji is an angel. She likes to be tickled and to be tickled, of course only if she trusts the person.
💖 Between her, Uzui and Rengoku there may be a tie in sensitivity. Although Kanroji takes the victory 💖 She doesn't scream, she laughs softly and covers her blushing face. 💖 If you're gentle, she doesn't ask you to stop, she'll just laugh and laugh
💖 She doesn't mind being tickled, but if they don't stop when she tells them to, that's when she takes revenge.
💖 Iguro and Tomioka are the main victims of her. Iguro for being her boyfriend and Tomioka well, because he's cute-
💖 Another fact is that Mitsuri always tends to receive kisses on her neck from Iguro-
💖 By the way you should be a little careful. Mitsuri kicks-
8. Kocho Shinobu
🦋 Worst spots: Waist, neck and hips
🦋 Kocho is not quite a victim. It's always the Only Kanae, Sanemi and Giyuu know the exact points to make Kocho laugh.
🦋 She can't escape ticklish hugs. If someone catches her like this, Shinobu will be defenseless-
🦋 Just like Mitsuri just laughs, of course, depending on where she gets tickled-
🦋 Her main target is almost always Giyuu. Although also the girls on her farm and of course, those patients who refuse to follow her orders to take care of their health 🦋 According to what I have been told, she squeals, writhes, snorts and blushes (data given by Kanae)
🦋 Fighting with her in a tickle fight can be dangerous, she is fast and even if she is weak, she can make you a disaster
9. Gyomei Himejima
🛐 Worst spots: Neck, behind the neck and ears, lower back and thighs
🛐 Gyomei does not tend to participate in these wars because: 1) His height and strength, he is afraid of hurting others 2) Your defeat is final 3) They have respect for him
🛐 Still, the TenRenMitsu team has chosen to cheer him on. Although to do so they need to be the 3 together-
🛐 He's quite gentle. From what I have been told, their touches are gentle but they do tickle you if you are quite sensitive to soft touches (information given by Genya)
🛐 Kagaya is the one who most often tickles him-. On many occasions, his daughters and son have helped him because Gyomei carries a lot of pressure and Kagaya doesn't like that.
🛐 It's pretty cute! He blushes and that beautiful blush is accompanied by his tears of joy.
🛐 He covers his blushing face while laughing and asking them to stop (he doesn't mean it)
🛐 A soft touch completely collapses it. He is too sensitive to light touches and can even make him scream a bit (information given by Kagaya) 🛐 He doesn't take revenge, or well, sometimes he does

Hey this is maybe a strange request but I was wondering if you had any good anime recommendations ?
I've been watching JJK and I've been left feeling a bit disappointed with the writing (it feels kinda all of the place and it feels like characters are dying just for the sake of dying)
So I'm kinda looking for something with darker themes and also maybe with supernatural elements, but that gives all the characters good arcs and development and also maybe is a bit on the happier side?
But honestly anything will do I'm just looking for some new stuff
I've been thinking of watching Vanitas no Carte so that one's already on my list
Hi, anon! I understand your frustration; the despair of the Shibiya arc had become rather gratuitous by the end of Season 2. :/
VnC was one of the first shows that came to mind while I was reading your ask, so you’re already ahead of the curve! Content warnings I recall off the top of my head include child death, nonconsensual blood drinking (which carries certain unpleasant implications in vampire media), use of children for scientific experimentation, and unsavory dynamics (aka the man repeatedly disregarding the woman’s boundaries) in the canon m/f pairing. However, the quality of the story and its unmistakable queerness still make Vanitas no Carte a worthwhile watch, in my opinion. And the manga is even better!
Some other recommendations I can think of, albeit with varying ratios of darkness to good character development and happy moments, are listed below. Please note that content warnings provided are based off my hazy recollections and thus are not comprehensive.
Mushishi
Though existing beyond the realm of human perception, the diverse array of primitive lifeforms known as mushi can warp their surroundings—and the people inhabiting them—in bizarre, sometimes frightening ways. As a mushishi, Ginko is one of the rare few who can see and interact with these creatures, and travels Japan lending assistance to those struggling to coexist with the mushi. Suffused with a quiet melancholy, this anime is perfect to watch on a rainy day with a cup of tea in hand.
Content warnings: Body horror
Mononoke
Nope, not the Studio Ghibli film that gave birth to the classic “I’ll cut your throat” ship meme. This 2007 anime follows the enigmatic and possibly immortal Kusuriuri (medicine seller) as he helps people impacted by mononoke, malevolent spirits that latch onto negative emotions. However, he can only dispel these spirits by uncovering their true nature and the reason for the appearance, forcing him to play detective along the way. Though a spiritual cousin of sorts to Mushishi, the two shows vary radically in style: Whereas Mushishi’s color palettes tend to be earthy and subdued, Monoke’s animation pushes the envelope with a dizzying, gaudy spectacle that could have come straight out of a drug-induced nightmare.
Content warnings: Violence (including violence against women), discussions of forced abortion, body horror, a highly questionable relationship between a monk and his sister, eyestrain (the colors are gorgeous but can be a bit overwhelming at times)
Otherside Picnic
College students Sorawo Kamikoshi and Toriko Nishina team up to periodically explore the Otherside, a parallel universe where urban legends pose all-too-real threats, growing closer over the course of their adventures. Fans of the light novels on which this 12-episode anime is based have criticized the differences in tone between the adaptation and the source material, complaining that the anime tends to come across as a bit goofier. However, as someone who went into the series blind, I had a fun time! Otherside Picnic also numbers among the rare examples of sapphic anime with adult protagonists, although most of Sorawo’s and Toriko’s relationship is relegated to slow-burn due to the short run time. Their black cat/golden retriever dynamic is still a joy to behold!
Content warnings: Occasional gun violence, body horror
Death Parade
The souls of the recently deceased are pitted against eachother in nerve-wracking games meant to uncover the darkest corners of their psyches so that beings known as arbiters may pass judgement on their fate—reincarnation, or eternity in the void. Alongside his assistant, Chiyuki, the arbiter Decim begins to gain greater insight into humanity while starting to question the very role for which he was created. This underrated gem will probably reduce you to a puddle of tears at least once, so have a box of tissues ready.
Content warnings: Violence, assault, suicide, depictions of alcohol use (much of the action takes place at an otherworldly bar)
Noragami
Hiyori Iki’s ordinary middle school life is turned upside down when a bus accident weakens the link between her body and soul, enabling her to perceive the gods and spirits in our midst…including Yato, a brash yet destitute young god without a single shrine to his name. How will their fates intertwine? Written along a similar vein to Fruits Basket and Kamisama Kiss, Noragami charms the viewer with its sillier shenanigans while ripping your heartstrings to shreds during the darker moments. Although the manga (at least what I’ve read of it) is superior, and the anime only adapts a handful of the original arcs, it still holds its own. And the OPs are excellent! 👌
Content warnings: Body horror, child death, suicide

!Hisuian Word of the Day!
Today’s word:
garasī shumapa (Galaxy Team)
/gäɾäsiː ʃumäpä/
———
Garasī (much like ginko and garer) is a loan word interpreted into the Hisuian language. Shumapa is used rather than tihuru because the neither clan saw this new settlement to be like them. It took them a while to figure out how to classify their settlement before they settled on shumapa after Galaxy team started up the survey corps. Shumapa specifically refers to a hunting party.
Akari ētē rēi hisuna ī garasī shumapa e.
Enjoy!

So, I was scrolling through my dash, like usual. And I saw a post by @monsoon-of-art about their current playthrough of the Alola games and them casually joking about yeeting Gladion into Hisui for funsies, and that made me remember I had this sitting in my computer for Arceus-knows-how-long.
So. Hau in Hisui.
He landed in the Cobalt Coastlands, in Hideaway Bay. Lady Overqwil found him passed out on the beach and poked him awake. She was pleasantly surprised when he neither ran in fear at the sight of her nor instantly froze in reverence. He exclaimed in surprise and then asked what her battle prowess was after thanking her. She was a wandering Noble that hadn't had a warden in decades, maybe a century at this point. She accepted that the remaining clans had forgotten her, but this boy was of neither clan. Yes, he would be hers.
Hau lost most of his memories in the drop but retained his love and respect for Pokemon. He could tell that this Pokemon was powerful. She held herself with a confidence that he knew he witnessed before, but couldn't remember. She was insistent that he follow her.
They wandered the region by way of water, finding old pokeballs and slowly building up Hau's team. Occasionally, he'd challenge her to a battle. This was new to the Noble. No warden had ever been so brash to face their Noble in combat.
She liked this human.
Powerful and courageous, but kind and gentle.
Hau would something wander off on his own to train or forage. Sometimes he would encounter some clan members, but... he didn't speak Hisuian, nor did they know any Alolan.
More often than not, he would frighten them away before they ever had the chance to talk.
A member of the Diamond Clan claimed to have witnessed him wrestling and Ursaring and winning.
Someone in the Pearl Clan stated that he stopped a charging Piloswine with his bare hands.
A merchant in the Ginko Guild claims to see him riding a Gyarados while in a rage. (He was forcing it away from Lady Overqwil's eggs)
Rumors spread about a wild spirit, the body of man, but the strength of Pokemon.
Ingo had yet to say anything on the matter, other than, "They are very skilled in battles."

Hiya! Very excited about your gem submas au, love to see another fusion. Are the Pearl and Diamond clans in your au related to Steven Universe diamonds and pearls? (don't mind if already answered, just had a thought)
ooaaaghh!! i've actually been thinking about the diamond clan and pearl clan a lot and how im gonna work hisui into all of this, and ive figure it out :DD!!
si basically Ingo doesn't go back in time or to another world, he gets stranded in another town. This town, of course, is called hisui! In this town there are two opposing groups that believe in aliens, the pearl clan that believes aliens are like the pearls we know, and the diamonds who think aliens are giants like the diamonds! These two groups don’t actually make up all of town hisui, and are pretty much clubs where people hang out, but they take it verrrrry seriously!
The galaxy team is a third group that doesn't really care whether or not aliens are one way or another, they just wanna meet aliens and go to space!
and then the ginko guild is the fourth group, and the only ones that aren't alien obsessed (besides volo ofc) they’re from a nearby college and they’re all art students that sell their weird and surprisingly useful creations :]
The noble pokemon are just their pets! The reason they call them nobles in this world though, is because they are all corrupted gems that they've tamed and mistaken for animals!
The pearl clan finds ingo semi-unconscious and without any memories due to his gem being cracked
Ill be drawing the nobles soon!!! i wanna figure out their designs :D

GIVE US THE POKEMON ARCEUS X TWEWY LORE
I WILL!!!!!!!!
ok so. In this au, the Reaper's Game is taking place in modern Jubilife City. Normally, the Sinnoh Gym Leaders are the reapers in charge of most of games, but there's something strange happening this time. For one, the normal higher-up reapers are nowhere to be seen, and the game simply. won't. end. Every week is followed by another one.
There is no communication from the reapers aside from simple missions and even the Wall Reapers have no idea what is happening- they're just as trapped as the players. To make matters worse, there are people from the past showing up in the game as well. People who dies hundreds of years ago, appearing in the game as players. Some of them know each other too - why are these specific groups appearing?
This game, due to the general breakdown in structure, operates on the ntwewy team format. The most prominent teams are the Galaxy Team, the Pearl Clan, the Diamond Clan, and the Ginko Guild. There might be others but erasures are happening left and right. The Noise are agitated and its a dangerous place in the UG.
Akari falls into the game with no memories and is offered a pact with the Galaxy Team, which she takes. From there she tries to unravel what is happening and hopefully remember what she lost.
Now I know what you're thinking- What's going on with Arceus? Well. No one knows much about the Producer but seem to have involved in some way. Two major Composers- Dialga and Palkia (and a secret third one of course) have been absent while all this has been happening and no one can contact any higher forces. Maybe something to do with the space-time anomalies going on?
In the spirit of PLA, Arceus gave Akari something to communicate with. In the spirit of twewy, its a flip phone.

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...
It’s no problem, I love answering questions like these!!! But also that’s a RRREAALLLYYYY hard question for me bc it changes depending on what I’m currently obsessed with lollll and it’s even harder for me to rank from least favorite to favorite so,,, if you don’t mind I’m just gonna keep it to anime/games and list like off the top of my head in no particular order!! If that’s ok:
-Yusuke from YYH (I’m a sucker for the “punk guy with a heart of gold” trope and also the first episode/chapter where he shows up to his own funeral and gets shocked at how much everyone misses him is like,,, the only anime/manga scene that actually makes me cry lmfao. It added a lot more depth to his character as well and I thought it was cool that Togashi managed all that in literally the first volume)
-Illumi from HxH (his design is iconic and I just think he’s cool. It’s honestly mostly the design… I wanted to only do one character per series for this post but Chrollo and Kite are also up there)
-Jolyne from JJBA (funny, badass and kinda relatable in a way??? Like I’m not very confrontational at all but somehow I just. Get her. I also love the way she speaks lmao)
-Spike from Cowboy Bebop (Looking at my blog theme I bet you could never guess! there’s a lot of reasons I like him but to keep it brief I just think he’s very fun to analyze bc his character is so complex if that makes sense?? Also he’s hot which is a bonus)
-Ginko from Mushi-shi (just seems like a cool dude!! Helpful and knowledgeable)
-Vash from Trigun 1998 (How can you NOT like him,,, I immediately liked him since his intro in episode one lmao. Forever mourning the loss of his accent in the 2023 version)
-N from Pokémon (This one’s the hardest to explain for some reason but tbh I just think that he’s cool! His backstory and mannerisms are really interesting and as a Pokémon fan it’s nice to see when they get really creative with the human characters! Also keeping true to my one character per series rule here but Guzma and Team Skull as a whole are also hilarious and I love them)
-Majima from Yakuza (specifically the version from 0, but I like all of them. He just makes me laugh lmao which is super fun!! But he also shows that he’s actually a very respectable guy on a lot of occasions, which bumped him up for me. Oh also his intro in 0 IS SO GOOD)
-Klavier from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (I’m ngl I just think he’s hot but also he made me laugh a lot… and it was always just generally really fun/interesting whenever you got to talk to him in game)
-Otacon from MGS (Like a lot of other characters on this list it just started with him being really funny. I mean come on you really can’t beat a character introduction where you hype the dude up to be this super serious science hacker guy, and then when you finally meet him he pisses his pants and rants to you about anime… Aside from that his codec calls are really fun, Otasune is a good ship, and his character development as he ages is also interesting)

I told myself to stop using social media because I have finals next week but I have the conviction of a sopping wet paper towel and I am deprived of nutrition.
Also I hate how some parts of the liyue quests(mainly chasm and Azdaha) was concluded but I’ll save that for last cause it’s wifey time.
Imagine wifey dying and becoming a restless ghost not like the malevolent kind but canonically souls who do not move on because of unfinished business or they haven’t lived fulfilled lives kinda just stay around? How do you think the ginko fam feels knowing that the reason why wifey hasn’t moved to the other side is because of them? Since souls who stay too long have consequences for staying at the material plane (side note but I am not okay at the fact that every single former wangsheng Director has never stayed behind and have always moved to the other side because all of them live fulfilled lives by protecting the living world from malevolent spirits and guiding restless ones to the other side…I can’t im not okay 😭)
Ok now onto the rant part feel free to skip :>
I. HATE HOW THE CHASM AND ITS IMPLICATIONS WAS CONCLUDED. In the chasm they attempted to humanise the Fatui to show that they’re not just moustache twirling villain (ok granted I haven’t played the Fontaine quests so my anger may be misplaced) LIKE LITERALLY one of the optional world quest you can take is helping a group of ABANDONED FATUI GET SUPPLIES BECAUSE AFTER WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LIYUE ARCBON QUEST THEY WERE ABANDONED DOWN THERE WITH NO COMMUNICATION AND NO SUPPLIES. Plus the Fatui in the chasm were literally there to help liyue with its development since signora was the one who set up the mining contract between the Fatui and the liyue Qixing. So the Qixing. With god whatever was going on in their head. Removed the surface Fatui officers from their posts and cut of supplies to the Fatui down below the chasm. I CANNOT EVEN EXPLAIN HOW FUCKING CRUEL THAT IS…. Yeah yeah sure Fatui killed your god(allegedly) so you’re justified in feeling angry at them… BUT TO LEAVE SEVERAL TEAMS OF FATUI DOWN THERE WITH NO SUPPLIES??? NO COMMUNICATION??!?? YOU WILLINGLY LEFT THEM DOWN THERE KNOWING THERE WAS MYSTERIOUS ABYSS SHENANIGANS?????? Yeah so by the time we get there we meet up with a team of Fatui to give them food and they explain to you that the Fatui down here are fractured since communication was cut from topside. And they’re still down there btw. It makes me sick every time I have to fight Fatui when I’m in the chasm… and also because of Fatui being left in the chasm to essentially die we also meet another Fatui cincin mage in a makeshift camp (which the traveller attacks first no questions ask I have so many gripes with how the game treats the Fatui) after defeating her she begs for mercy and said that she was with her brother when they got separated because the chasm monsters attacked and she asked can the traveller go and help her brother.
Seeing the bloody Fatui badge broke me, and when you give her, her brother’s items that he left behind she asked to be left alone (assuming to grieve) and said that the traveller is free to come later to talk to her since she won’t be leaving anytime soon. I really hate how the fandom and the game itself treats the Fatui like they’re a bunch of moustache twirling villains when the game also attempts to humanise them. Just… just pick one god damn it.
Ok now onto Azdaha. During his fight we discovered that the reason why he had eroded to such a state was because humans has drained the leylines of their elemental energy in other words they were literally hurting Azdaha and he attacked them in self defense in response to that Rex Lapis sealed him away citing erosion and breaching of contract. Because of this Azdaha was left to stew in his betrayal and he was still hurting while sealed away because again THE HUMANS MINED THE CHASM TO THE POINT WHERE THE LEYLINES ITSELF WAS DRAINED OF ELEMENTAL ENERGY. And the reason why this makes me so mad is because Zhongli doesn’t fucking question it… LIKE HELLO IS THERE A BRAIN IN THERE YOUR FRIEND LITERALLY TOLD YOU THAT HUMANS WAS HURTING HIM ANS YOUR RESPONSE WAS THAT THE AGE OF ADEPTI WERE OVER??????
I love Zhongli I really do but I cannot being to explain to you how much I despised him at that point which is great because it shows that it is along his character flaws and oh god I’m gonna cut myself off before I start about Zhongli
If you actually read to this point ily I’ve been holding this in for awhile 😭
Tumblr media
Yeah I can see you were holding that in lmao. Don't worry worry I've got my own rants that I'm holding back on. Maybe one day I'll just go "fuck it here are my thoughts on love stage and they are Not Great and were Never Great." (Ohhhhh that is a can! A whole ass can of worms!)
I'm not gonna have the love stage rant rn because it goes into discussion of sexual assault but just know I am Ready to go off.
Anyways, I think the kids would have very mixed reactions/thoughts on Wifey as a ghost. Some, namely Feng, are happy to see them, but generally they all would feel a deep ache at the sight of them because... they shouldn't be here. It's nice they want to stay and watch over their children, but Wifey's done enough. They can go to rest now. Please, you can rest now...

After a few questions on style and preferences, Balinor and a whole team of dwarves descended upon the kitsunes' home and had the place furnished nearly as quickly as Tony and Ginko built it, thanks to their skill and magic.
Ginko watched them in awe as they worked. Kuko had appeared looked at the house incredulously. The sight of company didn't best please him but he just put down Roko's food, shifted and curled in his sister's lap around the tot.

“Someday, I'll solve every riddle in the legends of Hisui's Pokémon. And on that day, I'll stand before Arceus at last— No, I will CONQUER it! No matter how many years, how many decades, how many centuries it takes me!”
Rambling Musing under cut
[Addition to this concept]
I can't have been the only person who thought of this; of Volo having died sometime not all that long after the battle at Spear Pillar and because of his excessive spite and hatred, he would come back as a Hisuian Zoroark. I have seen quite a few people do this concept with Akari where she ends up dying during her exile, but I haven't seen it done with Volo after Spear Pillar where he would be at his most vulnerable.
There was one person who had a similar idea whose username I can't remember nor care to, who had an idea (au concept???) of Volo having been a Zoroark the whole time who wanted a better world out of missing the way things used to be pre-human civilization (subtle way of saying he hates humans settling in Hisui and bridging the gap between themselves and pokemon).
Like, I know this is pokemon of all things, but considering the literal fact I made a psycho-analysis of Volo that would prompt practically everyone into going "It's not that deep", I always found it a little too perfect how if one is a believer of the hiker theory or just has any headcanon that he didn't die, that means Volo somehow survived the worst of what was to come after Spear Pillar.
After Spear Pillar, he was emotionally and mentally exhausted and very much not in his right mind because Arceus decided to be a jackass and summon the Azure Flute the moment the spooky plate made its way into the player's hands and set him off again after he calmed down. The anger; the rage and absolute vitriol he felt towards Arceus and still yet so, the player, was still relatively fresh and with his defeat and loss of his greatest ally in getting to Arceus (I mean, I get why he yelled at Giratina but also 🤨?????), that left very large room for recklessness and acting illogically.
Not only that, but with the likelihood that the clans and Galaxy team would catch wind sooner or later that he was the one who opened the rift and nearly destroyed the world by accident in the process then explicitly tried to do so again on purpose, he wouldn't be accepted in any settlement. This also applies to the Ginko Guild: they would want absolutely nothing to do with him once they find out as he'd be a blemish upon their reputation.
So you have a very bitter, very not mentally stable man trying to survive in the wilderness of Hisui almost entirely alone. It's a miracle that in terms of the hiker theory, he manages to survive past that, because the most likely thing that would have happened was him dying— like I can't convey to you just how lucky he was.
But this is ~pokemon~ so of course that didn't happen despite Volo being surprisingly realistic for a character. And to that I query, "what if it did?"
So here we are back at the beginning, Volo died and came back as a Hisuian Zoroark due to his overwhelming spite and hate.
How?
With what I've said previously, I decided that his death would be in the Alabaster Icelands. With there being very dangerous pokemon around, random holes in the ground with steep drops that can easily injure or kill you if you aren't watching where you're going, and deadly blizzards, death is guaranteed for the unprepared. Why would Volo go up that far north if it's so dangerous then— SHH SHUT! I am trying to convey an idea, the minute intricacies are lost on me right now. All I can imagine as of current is that Volo was in the Alabaster Icelands for one reason or another, something happened that was out of his and his pokemon's control and they couldn't save him (I'll tell you this: the cold on its own isn't what would kill him, otherwise his death wouldn't occur because he has his Arcanine.), and he came back as a Zoroark.
Part of the reason for the Alabaster Icelands is that I'm fairly certain? that only those who die— normal Zorua, Zoroark, or humans— there can become Hisuian Zoroark. If they die anywhere else regardless of the other criteria being met I'm pretty sure they can't become Hisuian Zoroarks, so Volo would have to be in the Alabaster Icelands for this to happen to him.
One can only imagine the grief his pokemon felt when they realized the oddly yellow Hisuian Zorua by their trainer's frozen corpse was their trainer. How they would feel that if they knew sooner or were out before it happened, his death would have been avoided. How Lucario, a pokemon that can sense aura, and his beloved Togekiss (because Gamefreak said fuck any visible notion his Roserade cares about him I guess), would instantly know that the Zorua was him.
Now,
for explanations on his appearance and his personality. Since I am unable to draw this digitally without it being immensely more difficult than it should be, I will have to heavily hint towards the symbolism since rarely ever do I draw or write something that is straightforward.
•His color pallette is still a lot like the normal Hisuian Zoroark, aka very white, but the typically red areas in a Hisuian Zoroark's hair and fur are instead the same blonde yellow as his hair from when he was alive. (White and yellow instead of yellow and white huh?)
•The eyes don't look as... narrow... as they should. Strange...
•Is it just me, or does this Zoroark not look as... wispy, as the others?
•Since I do not use color traditionally, I will have to say that the bulbous black areas on his arms and legs are supposed to be a dark red-brown and not a bright red. Hm, wonder why...
•He just has more scars because I personally headcanon Volo as actually having quite a few scars and had that directly translate into his Zoroark appearance.
And now for something lighter (by my standards atleast).
•Upon his becoming a Hisuian Zorua, he gained the ability to understand pokemon and speak with them on their level.
•It took a while for him to figure out how to talk human languages again (like pokeani meowth) and even longer to do so so it sounds natural and not... off (again, pokeani meowth)
•Very spiteful and angry little ball of fluff that simmered down faster than he would have in the even that he didn't die. Since, y'know, your death ultimately being caused by your hatred will make you reevaluate a few things about yourself.
•Loathed not having hands until evolving which only gave him three claws but it's better than useless bitty paws.
•Him calming down much faster and realizing how damaging he was being to himself and to his pokemon by tunnel visioning on figuring out how to usurp Arceus and seeing anything else that wasn't that as being in his way— provided much relief to his team that the person they knew and loved was coming back and not what he was twisting himself into in his downward spiral. (Again, this does happen when he lives, it just takes years rather than like... one)
•Took time to learn how to master casting illusions but the only illusion he can really even do at this point is of himself when he was alive. (Other Hisuian Zoroarks: able to do countless illusions of people and pokemon to varying degrees of accuracy. Hisuian Zoroark!Volo: can only do an illusion of himself but it's absolutely flawless)
•Wears his Celestica pendant at all times (forgot to draw it, don't want to deal with wrestling with my camera phone to retake the picture)
•He also wears his backpack and hat as well; they're not part of the illusion (didn't draw them since I 1. don't know how to draw either and 2. wanted him to be as unobscured as possible)
•He can still be the hiker, it's just that he's a ghost rather than immortal. Yes, his friendly, charismatic demeanor has returned despite him being like this now but there is the difference of a layer of somberness underneath and an even thinner layer of well-concealed vitriol towards Arceus and Arceus alone. (If you've read my post on Quincent and how I interpret Banettes, the same principal of spite functioning as fuel for a flame applies to Hisuian Zoroarks as well. However it is a bit different in that where a grudge functions as the fuel for Banettes animation, spite functions as the tether for Hisuian Zoroarks not moving on in the afterlife. It could be considered "unfinished business" but it's not really the same)
•Yes, this also means his illusion was changed to be that of what he would look like as a hiker rather than when he was in the Ginko Guild (he had figured out that illusion a long time ago since him being mistakenly affiliated with the Guild would be bad and eventually the uniform would become outdated as the Guild would no longer exist in the state it did when he was still alive at the least and would cause people to look at him weirdly)
•Had to get really good at not responding and talking to pokemon or else he garner unwanted attention.
•Can maintain the illusion through being touched so long as he anticipates it, otherwise he kinda just goes poof.
•The illusion obviously goes away when he's asleep and starts to wane when he's tired.
•He maintains the illusion for as long as he can upon awakening but it is incredibly draining on him to focus on maintaining it for such a long stretch of time that he does end up tired far quicker than if he simply didn't do it for so long or so often.
•Can also partially cast the illusion and look uncannily inhuman. +The illusion starts to wane when he's experiencing strong emotions since he can't focus on maintaining it and it's kinda terrifying to see some guy slowly be engulfed in billowing smoke with no known source out of nowhere and watch his features warp and shift into something very much not human.
•His moveset does not contain bitter malice by the time of pokemon platinum.
(•Just for those wondering, no he doesn't blame Akari/Dawn in any way for his death and very much acknowledges it to be no one's fault but his)
•There is also the question of "if Volo is Cynthia's ancestor but he died before he could have children, does she just not exist?" and the answer is: she still does, but she's Cogita's direct descendant now and not Volo's. (wtf is up with Celestica genes? Yeah a lot of the other characters in PLA have descendants that look almost identical to them, but with Cogita, Volo, and Cynthia, we have three people from a single bloodline that have MANY generations between them— that is, if you headcanon Cogita as being Volo's ancestor— and they hardly look any different. WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEIR GENES??? Also forgot about Cynthia's sister who doesn't have a canon design but if Cynthia is any indication...
•Ghost types have the ability of distinctly knowing something's up when he's casting the illusion of himself and basically look at him like '🤨'. Kinda difficult to keep a straight face when a swarm of gastly are just staring unblinkingly at you like "tf is this". +Normal living Zoroarks can instantly tell that he isn't human and get the wrong idea thinking he's trying to trick someone rather than him clinging to the humanity he had.
#【𝙿 𝚁 𝙸 𝚂 𝙼】#volo#didn't want to add further extraneous information in the main post but#i /do/ hc that arceus created the celestica in its image and that their hair floats upward after reaching a certain length#(why part of volo's hair remains down when the bun is undone) and that all celestica have grey eyes and blonde hair that gradually becomes#more and more white as they age‚ but this is kinda ridiculous when it comes to how potent their genes are#just.... arceus that is /vanity/. it took who knows how many generations between volo and cynthia with his descendants procreating with#other non-celestica to create cynthia whose hair only curls up at the very ends and not all of it. again same thing likely applies to her#sister. like.... w/ the other pla characters we just have them + the descendant so the fact they look alike isn't as baffling as three very#distanced generations. then there's the pla characters that barely have a resemblance to anyone in the future#like some ppl hc that may is irida's descendant bc of the hair‚ some ppl hc that leon and hop are laventon's descendants#i strongly hc that penny is melli's descendant bc they literally have the same eyeshape and considering melli used to be a self-conscious#shy kid just like penny before becoming a prick as an adult‚ penny is probably what he was like as a kid‚ snark and all + the shyness#(don't get me started on her having a friendship evo and the only pkmn that evolves through love as her ace whereas melli's golbat refuses#to evolve bc it doesn't like him all that much & his pkmn are poison which are the weakness to penny's ace sylveon which is fairy)#i kinda halfway hc that adaman is arven's ancestor due to that one fanart of arven having his hair pulled back and styled like adaman's and#i was like 🤔 he /does/ kinda look like him‚ huh. but that's so funny actually bc arven's parents look nothing like adaman which only#implies adaman just went 'YOU don't get my genes and YOU don't get my genes‚ but you? you're cool' ahshdjdan#yes i just used the tags to talk abt this instead of putting it in the main post bc if i didn't talk about it at all my brain would be mad

Oh see, while I'm sure I'd feel rather hunted if I actually like, met a giant jackrabbit man who looked like That, when I saw your picture something about him triggered an instant cute aggression response hard. Which I'm not usually prone to, so that was an interesting experience lol. My second response was the same one I had the first time I saw the Hisuian Zoroark design, which was to vibrate out of my skin over how cool it looked followed immediately by the intense desire hug and pet it. Considering that the only reason I actually got pla was because I wanted a Zoroark, that's certainly saying something. I'm a big fan of emaciated-looking character designs, especially when it makes them look kinda haunted or feral, and you hit it spot on, perfect 10/10.
Oh good, I'm glad you don't mind! If I do end up posting some of them, I'll let you know (if you want me to) and link back to your drawing so that people know the credit for the fantastic character designs go to you!
That's true, the Galaxy Team and Ginko Guild would have the widest variety since they probably come from all over, though there are enough marshland and heat-adapted animals out there that the Diamond Clan probably is pretty diverse too. The Pearl Clan would definitely be the least diverse in general though, because there are only so many types of land animals that are able to live full time in a tundra. And I could see Ginter as a goat! Or like a donkey or malamute that hauls stuff around.
Though here's something I just thought of, would Sabi be considered unlucky to the Diamond Clan as an arctic animal? She's not really safe to stay in the mirelands, which might be part of why they made her a warden so early, so she can't ever come home for very long. And unlike in the Pearl Clan, the Diamond Clan probably would view that as a type of exile, because she doesn't have the option of spending time with the clan as a whole. Right now she still has her baby fluff so technically she could have had more time with them, but maybe when Braviary's old warden retired (or died), Adaman thought it best to just move Sabi into that position once it was clear that they got along, just so that she wouldn't have to actually be exiled when she got too old to safely stay. When they meet up they have to do it in the highlands where it's not too cold for Adaman and not too hot for Sabi. She herself doesn't actually mind, because she's young enough that she probably hasn't actually internalized their beliefs that much, but I bet it's hard being a kid without your family or friends to play with anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up going a little bit feral living out there with just herself and wild pokemon around for the most part, but if she really got hungry for people interaction she could always hang out with or prank people in the highlands, and with how young she is even the Pearl Clan might tolerate her being around more than they have any other Diamond Clan member in the past.
Oh, actually, maybe when Irida makes that first step by asking Adaman for help with Ingo, it opens him up to asking Irida for help with Sabi after he decides to make her a warden. But where Irida just wanted advice on how to keep Ingo, you know, alive longer, Adaman was asking if Irida could maybe look out for Sabi, at least somewhat, just so that a tiny child doesn't die out in the wastes because she didn't know how to find/cook food or take care of a wound like an adult would. Although, even if he didn't, I think that noble pokemon don't actually care about Clan lines, so if she did get hurt Braviary would probably just drop her off at the Pearl Clan settlement and demand she get treated, and like hell are they going to go against a noble's wishes, which is something I could see happening in canon. Lmao, that's a great point about Mai and Ingo though, I can see that exact interaction perfectly. She tried, not her fault if he doesn't want to listen.
Lol, Very Complicated is right! In OoP, Kamado was able to get to her in a moment of weakness, but you can tell throughout that Irida cares about Ingo and had in fact trusted him quite a lot, enough to vouch for him and confide in him about her role as a leader in any case. This is just taking that up a notch or two by mixing in the fear that comes from knowing there is a good chance her friend might die. That is an excellent plot device, plus it'd be very fitting considering that he saved Sneasler and now her domain is one of the only places he can actually safely be. He was, it'd look to them, clearly meant to be her warden with how neatly things had slotted together. I'm not sure if Irida would divulge how poorly Ingo was doing, but if the people of the Pearl Clan were prone to traveling around there'd surely be at least a few people who saw Ingo for themselves, especially if part of his role was helping them traverse safely through. So they'd know this nice, helpful, polite man (who, yes, is frankly very odd), the man who had saved their noble and was destined to serve her, was consistently looking worse and worse. Maybe they bring it up with Irida and she has to explain what she knows, and some of them start bringing things for him when they know they're headed his way, like food or mittens to replace his lost gloves or something. What he loses in a long term ability to survive in Hisui he makes up for by gaining a little bit of community.
hehehe that's so fun i love that, ty. i can for sure get the cute aggression response too. fucked up jackrabbit guy...
:0 yeah i'd love to see it if you end up posting it!! for sure!!
donkey is another option for ginter, yeah... or maybe an ox? something that's good for hauling and pulling large weights. very funny in comparison to his employee, a dove, the least draft animal to ever exist,
oof, you're right, sabi would probably have a pretty tough time in the mirelands as a penguin. she's definitely way more suited to the region where she's warden than the one where she was actually, like, born. i wonder if there's something where she's like, a child of the previous warden, and the Animal Roulette got confused about which region was "home" and went with an arctic animal because her parent spent so much time in the icelands. (...something something, au where braviary's former warden was sabi's mom and her father is gaeric, who hasn't told her or anyone else bc of clan tensions, but now she's taken the position so he has an excuse to keep an eye on her under the guise of assisting his fellow warden)
also the idea of her just wandering into the pearl settlement to hang out, aww. the other kids probably wouldn't think too much of it, depending on when they get taught about clan affiliations and all that (and besides, she's a warden, aren't the rules kind of different around there?) so they're happy to play games with her until braviary calls her back to go do warden stuff. that would have its own issues, though, if the diamond clan grows concerned that pearl might be manipulating their warden... teaching her about the False Sinnoh and trying to convince her to change allegiances, disrupting the balance throughout all hisui... (they're not doing any such thing, in fact the adults probably avoid discussing sinnoh with her as much as possible, but you know how people are)
i wonder if, if she's already hanging out with pearl enough, it might not go in the other order. like, it's adaman who first asks irida (or the pearl wardens or something) to keep an eye out for sabi, because it's really nonstandard to have a warden this young and yeah he's worried about her, ok? this concerns them too, anyway, since wardens are sort of both clans' business. and it's that shaky gesture of trust that prompts irida (because this is, strictly speaking, interfering in ingo's business and she isn't sure how he'll take it) to ask him about ingo, later.
and yeah of course it would look to them like ingo was like, sent to be sneasler's warden. though i wonder if, even if some of them saw him, they'd even notice how much he'd changed, considering they probably see him only infrequently and most of what they remember is "weird alarming rabbit thing" which is a description he just fits better than ever, lol. still, though, they'd probably pick it up via behavior if nothing else—that he constantly seems only half-present in conversation, etc—and do what you said re: trying to help them to the extent that they're able

Modern day volo where he was dragged to the future due to Emmet and Ingo.
He got a new chance at life and now works as a finance person at the gear station and also runs a specialized rotation (3vs3) line while the twins are on their 1hr lunch break. Special rewards for those who beat him (the win streak is cut in half due to shortness of time open.)

" You're making it personal, Lin. "
Ginko ( who made a guest appearance every once and a while ) told Lin the tired truth in the elevator the night before, stepping out and giving her a long, honest look before holding his hand up to catch a taxi to the airport for his next adventure. " You're retiring soon. You shouldn't trouble yourself. Leave it to the team you've built and passed all the responsbility to. "
She still thought about that set of words as she sat here, one leg crossed over another ( just like her arms ), staring across the table at this stranger who was nothing but a name. Ginko's perspective still jabbed at her brain, as did the smell of the wet pavement from that night and the way the sound of the raindrops set a steady ' plunk ' against her weatherproof jacket.
But that was then and this was now. Could a criminal to catch a criminal? Lin Beifong, top detective and soon to be retired police officer, was tiptoeing the line and threatening to jump over her own protocol. So, her legs uncrossed, as did her arms, and both booted feet were set on the ground as she slipped the manilla packet across the tabletop at Isaac Doyle.
" Have you heard of the death of Franklin Howard? "
