OK I CONTRADICTED MYSELF A LOT SO LET ME EXPLAIN

this is my favorite character of all time in any media, right up there with Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars, Nicholas & Nathaniel Benedict from TMBS (showverse) and Lancelot from bbc Merlin. Actually probably slightly above all those characters which is SAYING SOMETHING.

Is he comic relief? Yes.

Would I be his friend? Yes.

Has he done nothing wrong? Yes!! No he’s done many things wrong he’s so precious to me ok but the law he’s broken the law I love him so much he literally betrayed his friends I will always love him he has sooo much to answer for I’m glad Sophie forgives him after she chews him out she should chew him out longer but I suppose Fitz does that for her He has so many apologies to make but like he’s also done nothing wrong look I’m aware of my blorbo’s mistakes he’s honestly not as problematic as the tumblr fandom makes him out to be sometimes, and I MEAN that, but he’s also not as perfect and sweet as the eleven year olds on Wattpad make him out to be. He’s a LOT okay, you can’t analyze Keefe Sencen without the everything

Are my opinions unpopular? Yep! The other keefe girlies hate my opinions bc I acknowledge his character flaws and the Keefe haters hate my opinions bc I acknowledge the fact that he’s NOT an antagonist and actually has a lot of really good traits, and that’s NOT me making excuses. Also what are y’all on about saying he doesn’t get held accountable for his actions, like yeah Sophie forgives him pretty fast but not until she’s yelled at him, and the rest of his friends do NOT bounce back to normal (Fitz)

Do I relate to him? Yes, unfortunately. I have Fitz’s trauma and Keefe’s coping mechanisms (they aren’t good coping mechanisms but they’re literally mine)

Is the fandom wrong about him? Yes, the Keefe fans and Keefe haters alike. Don’t flatten this guy there’s SO MUCH THERE. (I’m not talking about my Keefe-negative mutuals—if I follow you, you didn’t flatten his character, I am very serious about Keefe Sencen)

Do I want to adopt him? YES I mean I’m literally his age but if I was old enough to adopt him I totally would, get that kid away from Cassius Sencen and kill Gisela Sencen. Honestly tho I’d settle for an Elwin adoption, dad!Elwin rocks

Did he need less screen time? *sighs in resigned Keefe fan* probably…objectively…yes…

Did canon do him dirty? I debated filling in this one. Because Shannon has made him a SUPER complex character. But also I swear if the ending of stellarlune isn’t the last time he steals something from Sophie to carry out a reckless plan he told no one about, I’ll riot. Don’t give him forward character progress and then erase it! If it’s a momentary relapse of bad habits I’ll allow it but I’m starting to want Shannon to let Keefe grow from all of that. Cause she keeps letting him get better—and then slip back. (Which isn’t unrealistic and I can work with!! I love him! But SHANNON PLEASE)

Do I want to study him? I want to get a full on PhD in this guy’s character arc actually

Did he need more screen time? Heh. Uh. Objectively NO. But also this amount of page time has allowed us to learn so much about his character complexities?? Like I’m torn between missing the other characters and eating up his character arc. Currently I’m gonna hope book 10 expands the other characters more bc I need more of them and 9.5 can feed my Keefe brain

Would I hit him with a golf cart? Listen my friend made this bingo game (hi Bods, if you’re reading this) and I know exactly what the actual intention was behind this square. But like. I want to slightly run into him with a golf cart. Just enough to slightly injure him and make him rethink his life choices (affectionate) (actually in the words of@phtalogreenpoison “I’d like to microwave Keefe. Just shortly”)

Does he need therapy? OH MY GOSH YES. I have thought this about other characters but SPECIFICALLY KEEFE HOLY GUACAMOLE GET THAT GUY THERAPY

Is he insane? Define insane. But I love him anyway (what is going on in his head half the time 😭)

Is he wasted potential? Uhhhh I have too many thoughts on this to actually put it on this post. Genuinely love what Shannon’s doing with his character, like I said. But at some point she needs to. Address the things. Or he just becomes a guy with all these complications introduced that just kinda sit there and continue to change and grow and Keefe is the complex character to end all complex characters but Shannon you need to DO SOMETHING WITH THE MASTERPIECE OF A CHARACTER THAT YOU HAVE CREATED

SEVEN KINGS MUST DIE OPINIONS

This post is a series of various ramblings about the movie!!! please do not read the extended version of this post if you want to avoid spoilers! last warning: THIS POST IS BASICALLY ONE SPOILER AFTER THE OTHER!!!!

I had an inkling this movie wasn't going to be incredibly thorough as the series was (and even the series was often a little rushed), but i feel it maintained a strong tie to the series, and while a little rushed it managed to give us some kind of closure.

OPINIONS:

the opening was amazing, loved how it took scenes from the movie and rendered it in the usual opening

Ingrith and Finan were so sweet, i was incredibly saddened that they didn't show them having kids or having more happy moments. Finan's reaction at her death was very sad, and i think it was unfair that we didn't get to know anything about his life post the events of the movie. Good though that it is implied at the end that Finan survives Uhtred.

what about Sihtric's wife/children???? again, we were left wondering about them but not only didn't she appear, his children weren't even in the picture. We are left wondering about them, unfortunately. Good thing though that he survived!!!

We knew baby Uhtred is in Rome; again, where is Stiorra????

Eadgifu's character was put to test this season but i am glad she was consistent with her s5 characterization. she is truly an amazing woman!

Eadgifu and the subtext with Uhtred was something i did not expect but liked! She matched Uhtred's maturity, and I liked the way they supported each other for their children.

Athelstan!!!! okay, while i am disappointed it wasn't Osbert the one to be coupled up with him, i really liked his arc. I love how they explored his feelings over his homosexuality, his guilt and how it tied directly to the story. He acted out of desperation at first, but then came around to his duty and a newfound purpose that wasn't anymore a means to get away from his sins, but something he truly wanted for himself and his people. His complex relationship with Uhtred was shown in a way that for once didn't involve Uhtred behaving stupidly, showing he's definitely grown from the man he once was.

No Hild disappointed me but good for her for getting away from these problems once again!!!

Aldhelm's death:((((

Astrid & Arnalf: now i think this is where the movie threw away its chances of developing a bit more the Dane antagonists! In this season particularly Astrid didn't have any other purpose other than to be the cause of Aldhelm's death, and serve as a plot device to further the story. Arnalf's motivation could have been better explored too.

Osbert's character wasn't very fleshed out, and i disliked that it wasn't even mentioned a conflict between him and Uhtred for the abandonment. Not an explanation, nothing. I do like him though, he reminds me of a younger Uhtred, and I find heartwarming his friendship with Edmund (though even that one is briefly shown).

The end of the movie wasn't bad, though it was interesting. in a way i felt like it was incredibly satisfying, since it didn't show us exactly what happened to Uhtred in the end, though it implied him entering in Valhalla. We don't know what happens after to him, but we know he was loved and he existed, and this series + the movie gives us a glimpse to a secret only we know. Despite it being a rushed ending, i will say that it was a good and satisfying one, and seeing Brida and Ragnar the Fearless truly warmed me. I wished we could have gotten a glimpse of Gisela but oh well, i understand Peri Baumeister was probably busy.

In the end I feel like the main problem of the movie was how rushed it was, and how poorly fleshed out were the characters we were following. That didn't hinder my enjoyment of it, though, and as i said it was very satisfying and in a way i love that we are left filling the gaps they left open.

Is it the best closure to TLK? maybe not, but unfortunately a 2 hour movie would never be able to give all we needed as fans of the serie, so what we got in comparison to many bad movies/sequels out there was a very well made final product.

I feel like upon rewatching both the serie and the movie i will come to love it fully! I have other thoughts, but for now these are my face value disconnected opinions.

I will miss these characters so much, they accompanied me all these years and brought me close to so many people! Hoping to continue enjoying them through the amazing fanwork this fandom continues to create!!!

NO BECAUSE I'VE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS BEFORE. I made a post comparing the characters once. I probably wouldn't use that casting for an au because it would be a little strange if Keefe was Edward and Sophie was his daughter, Renesmee. But! We could make Sophie Bella and work from there.

However, if we go for consistency then I'm going to have to make a choice for Jacob, as right now I've got him split between Dex (pre-werewolf) and Fitz (post werewolf), but neither of them fully encompass him. Fitz isn't a fun mechanic, and Dex isn't full of anger saying things he regrets.

I also encounter the problem of Alice and Rosalie, as if we're trying to match the first books then Marella goes better with Alice's light, gossipy, always in the loop nature. And Biana matches the coldness Rosalie shows to Bella. But the problem is that if we consider it as a full au, Rosalie never warms up to Bella the way Biana does to Sophie, and I compared Marella to Leah--there's a great "having everything taken from me" similarity there. Leah's the only female werewolf who can't have kids because of it, and Marella's the only new pyrokinetic and can't be matched because of it. Though Leah harbors more anger than Marella.

OH! I've forgotten to consider the antagonists here. I already had the Fintan/Aro comparison, but what about James and Victoria?? I could see the Lady Gisela as Victoria for the obsessive, inescapable nature and her prevalence as a problem in the story. But that would make Lord Cassius James and that doesn't work, he's not cool enough to be a tracker. I'd have to change the dynamics between James and Victoria likely, as there's no suitable relationship in the Neverseen. They're not really close enough--unless it's Umber and Trix, but they feel too background to be James and Victoria.

I'd also have to think about what I wanted this au to be. Is it focusing on the romance, as twilight is a romance saga? Or do I want to focus on the vampirism? What points do I want to hit? the meeting and falling for each other? the first moments? or the transformation and vampirism?

You see there's just so much to consider with a twilight au, it's been rotating in my head for so long because there's so much to bend and play with. I once compared Alden and Carlisle, but I don't think Alden could serve as Carlisle in an au because he's not a doctor.

KotLC Fancast Pt.1

First off! Chris Pratt as Grady. HEAR ME OUT- from the moment I was introduced to his character, my first thought was Owen Grady from Jurassic Park- like with how protective he is, and the fact that the first time we see him he's literally working with a T-Rex... it's just too perfect for me. Anyway, I think he'd do the role justice. Couple reference pics:

Next up we have Tom Holland as Elwin- I was a bit iffy on it at first, but the pictures of him in round glasses just sealed it for me.

Honestly, it'd be so great to see Elizabeth Olsen as Lady Gisela. We saw her talent as an antagonist in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and it'd be exciting to see what she'd do with this role.

Fintan and Gisela should’ve had a rivalry.

Okay, well, they kind of did. Emphasis on kind of. It wasn’t focused on despite the copious amounts of potential it had. Fintan would’ve made an amazing main antagonist for the KOTLC books but imagine how much more unexpected it would’ve been if Gisela “dethroned” him from his spot as the Neverseen’s leader and he gets so desperate that he makes an alliance with the Black Swan to defeat her in exchange for the promise that they’ll help him improve the Lost Cities.

This would’ve been such an amazing plot twist and this rivalry had so much potential that it’s physically painful to think about sometimes.

So! I have some thoughts on Keefe.

Originally I was like "aw man this dude is kinda sad but through the power of friendship, trust, and mutual support, stuff will get better!" and then. It didn't. At all. So eventually, I had to rethink the path Keefe is actually taking.

He was written to be a character the reader is meant to sympathize with, bc from all accounts, he's really trying to unlearn the defense mechanisms he developed after the trauma of his childhood, which is obviously pretty heavy stuff; fuck gisela, we want him to get better.

But if you look at his actual actions... he's not growing as a character. He's stuck with his incredibly self-destructive savior complex bc he fears nothing more than hurting the ppl he cares about, but because of the way he deals with that, he only hurts them more.

He set himself up for failure because he can't make himself truly trust his friends. He's doing exactly what Gisela wants him to.

My point here is that Keefe's character development isn't positive. It's only worsened over time, and though ofc I want him to realize his mistakes and stop abandoning his friends, he's following his "legacy" perfectly. He’s emotionally manipulative, as he has shown time and time again by lying to his friends (mainly sophie) and then promising to trust them, only to turn around and pull the same shit again.

I was optimistic after the first few times that maybe he would realize his mistakes and grow as a person, but especially after the end of unlocked, I don’t really think he will. 

His arc is not one of a protagonist, but of an (albeit tragic) antagonist.

But there's probably no way shannon messenger will ever actually make him even the least bit unsympathetic (even though he's being super manipulative rn) because this is a YA novel and Keefe is a love interest for some reason even though he would make an AMAZING antagonist after the betrayals he’s already done but that’s just my take

favorite character: Literally everyone who’s ever met me knows this lol but Alfred hands down. He’s brilliant. I love the brainy ones who play puppeteer with everyone else, it just really turns the cogs in my mind. I also love Uhtred and Aldhelm though, they’re probably tied for next in line :)

least favorite character: Cn*t 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 I can’t stand him. But Aethelwold comes in a close second because ew.

5 favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Again, literally everyone who’s ever met me knows this but Uhtred and Alfred have so much chemistry and such a strong bond that I couldn’t just...not ship them. After that there are some really good canon ships in this show that I just love. Aethelflaed x Aldhelm, Uhtred x Gisela, Finan x Eadith, and Alfred x Aelswith have all my heart eyes 🥺

character I find most attractive: Ugh I can’t believe I have to answer this when the main cast is full of attractive people. If I’m being completely honest I really think Uhtred and Gisela are super attractive.

character I would marry: A̶e̶t̶h̶e̶l̶r̶e̶d̶   I can hardly choose between the entire cast, but if I have to narrow it to one then probably Aldhelm :’) He would be the best husband!!!

character I would be best friends with: Likely Uhtred or Aldhelm again <3

a random thought: Iseult lives rent-free in my brain forever, I know she lasted for like 2 episodes but she had such an impact on Alfred that he attended her pagan funeral and I will just never stop thinking about that.

an unpopular opinion: Finan is overrated. That is all

my canon otp: I mean there aren’t a lot of ships that are canon as of yet so Uhtred x Gisela. I love them, they’re the perfect example of what a marriage should be <3

my non-canon otp: I am once again Thinking about Alfred x Uhtred because they are transcendent

most badass character: Alfred. He wasn’t the protagonist but still stole the spotlight every time he was on screen and was unafraid to call people out on their BS.

most epic villain: I hate just about every antagonist in this show and most of them are kind of lame tbh, but Siegfried (i think that’s how you spell it? the subtitles call him Sigefrid but it didn’t look right) was pretty good. I didn’t like him much but he was probably the least lame.

pairing I am not a fan of: Brida and Cn*t are just...ew. Ugh. No.

character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I mean the writers did a great job with everyone really but... Brida by the end of s4? I am Not a fan.

favourite friendship: It’s impossible for me to give any answer but Coccham Squad, though Hild and Uhtred are the most wholesome friendship I’ve ever seen between a man and a woman on screen. I love the respect he has for her 💖💖 and she for him!!! Really anyone who’s friends with Uhtred, I love.

character I most identify with: I identify a lot with Aldhelm and, a fact which disgusts me :), Edward. Not that I live in my parents’ shadow but at such a young age he’s striving to do more than he’s capable of and that’s a same. I still hate him though 🥴

character I wish I could be: Aethelflaed is the Woman™️

how I feel about this character: HE IS EVERYTHING TO ME AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I would sell my soul to him for a penny and a lock of his soft hair 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Have I not said Uhtred twice already? I will say it a third time. He deserves it. I also love his relationship with Aelswith. They had a rocky start but there were some scenes in the later seasons that really showed how much they loved and cared for each other 🥺❤️

my favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: He doesn’t really interact with any of the characters except for Uhtred and his family, so I’d have to say Aethelflaed. He’s such an adorable dad with her, I love seeing how much he dotes on her and he was so stricken with grief when she was kidnapped in s2 😭 But for characters who aren’t his family, I’d have to say Hild. She’s easily his favorite nun 🏆😇

my unpopular opinion about this character: A lot of people don’t like him because of his treatment of Uhtred throughout the course of the show which is valid, since he shows a lot of hypocritical behavior and manipulates Uhtred into serving him a lot. But people don’t take into account the fact that Uhtred refused to assimilate with his culture and follow his laws in his own land, instead doing the exact opposite by killing who he pleased and blatantly disrespecting the Christian God. People normally ignore this by saying it was a different time but it’s Alfred’s house and his rules and that is the tea sis.

one thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: The reconciliation with Uhtred and the handhold was really all I could wish for 🥺🥺 and Uhtred’s speech about him!!! The love!!! I’ll always hold their bond so dearly to my heart. But I really wish that we’d gotten to see some grandpa Alfred before he died :((( Grandma Aelswith and Aethelstan were so cute, and the scene where she tells Aethelstan about Alfred’s vision made my heart hurt so much. I wish we’d gotten to see Alfred be a grandpa though 💔 He would have been the best grandfather 😤😤

favorite friendship for this character: haha the implication that alfred has friends is so funny....but no his closest friend is his chronicle (it’s really his diary). To answer this question seriously though, Aelswith may be his wife but she’s also his best friend!! They judge people together just as best friends should. I love them <3

my crossover ship: I’m not really a crossover person so I don’t really have one. Also he’s a real person so that’s just kinda... idk nahhh lol. I guess, off the top of my head, Allura from Voltron???? They’re both...royals...and they’re relatively similar in personality. Eva was cocky, slightly arrogant and she knew it; in fact revelled in it because if her attitude pushed others away, they couldn’t get close enough to hurt her.  Most people got pissed off with her easily, but her older sister Gisela’s friends were a little more patient.  And sometimes it pissed her off and put her in an antagonistic mood.   Like when she had arranged with Gis to meet her at her and Uhtred’s place after work.  When she got there, there were no lights on downstairs, to her annoyance.  Why would her sister invite her over if she wasn’t going to be in?  Sighing, Eva went to the key safe at the side of the house and punched in the code.  Gisela and Uhtred had invested in this in case any of their friends needed access in an emergency, and Eva had somewhere safe to crash if she needed to.  Not that she did, but she appreciated the offer.  Retrieving the key, she let herself in and switched on the hall light, before removing her shoes.  There would be hell to pay if she didn’t do that as soon as she got in.  She went straight to the kitchen and opened the fridge, which disappointingly lacked chocolate.  There was beer though, but she would have felt bad taking that so she settled with boiling the kettle to make coffee.   Realising she had to pee, she padded up the stairs to the first floor bathroom.   After finishing her business, she was about to head back down when she noticed the one of the spare room lights was on, and the door was slightly ajar.  If she strained, she could also hear very low murmuring voices, as if the TV had been left on.

Sighing, and knowing that her sister wasn’t normally one for wasting electricity she decided to shut them off.  She pushed the door open and shrieked - there was Sihtric, a good friend of Gis and Uhtred’s laying back against the headboard of the bed with his phone in his hand and his other hand down his trousers.  Seeing her he swore loudly and removed his trouser hand and quickly shut his phone off. “What the fuck Eva?!” he panted, and delighted in the faint blush appearing on his cheeks. “Don’t what the fuck me, were you masturbating?” she asked, eyeballing him.  She had always found him attractive, but hadn’t been one for relationships and didn’t think her future brother in law would appreciate her using his best friend as a plaything.  She was trying to get a peek as to whether he was still hard, but his jogging bottoms were too loose for her to get a good look. “So what if I was?” he snapped back. Eva still stood in the doorway, hands on her hips. “What if Gis and Uhtred came back?” “They said they’d text when they were on their way over,” he shrugged sheepishly. “So you thought it was acceptable to just… get comfy in the spare room and beat your meat?” Eva raised an eyebrow. Sihtric shrugged.  She had caught him, there was no need to make it even more awkward.  “It’s been one of those days. I was horny, had what I thought was going to be an empty house and wifi.  Also, I’m paying them rent so it’s not like I just… look I don’t have to explain myself to you,” “I didn’t realise you were staying here,” Eva smirked raising an eyebrow.  “If I’d known, I’d have been more sneaky so I could watch the show,” she winked before flouncing off to make coffee.  Sihtric stared at her retreating figure, mouth agape.  He wouldn’t have even known what to say had she waited for a response.  

Eva’s smile stayed in place as she finished making coffee and took it into the lounge.  She had no intentions of telling anyone what she had just witnessed, and doubted Sihtric would confess to Gisela her little sister had walked in when he had his hand wrapped around his dick.Still, it would be fun to fuck with him over it for the evening.  She was surprised he hadn’t come down himself yet, either he was embarassed or finishing himself off.  The latter thought sent a little shiver through her, she hadn’t thought of him that way before, not really but the thought was not an unpleasant one.  She hadn’t actually seen his cock as it was covered at the time but she couldn’t help but think about it now, and suddenly that little encounter made her realise she fancied him.   “Fuck,” she whispered to herself, Standing and stretching, she took her coffee cup back to the kitchen and spotted a pack of cigarettes on the worktop.  They definitely weren’t Uhtred’s or Gisela’s and she hadn’t noticed them before.  They must be Sihtric’s.  Grinning a wicked grin, she helped herself to one and went out the back door for a smoke.  She was feeling tense now and really hoped the others would be back soon.  She jumped when the door opened behind her and Sihtric stepped out, his own cigarette between his lips.  She hadn’t really looked at his lips before, but they looked soft and…she had to stop.  

“Did you take one of my cigarettes?” he asked. “Was it that good you had to smoke after?” she retorted before she could stop herself.  Shut up Eva she thought. She was surprised that he laughed out loud in response. “So you’re still thinking about that?”  Eva felt trapped but the gleam in his eyes suggested he was enjoying her discomfort.  Bastard, he should be the one squirming in embarrassment,  She wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction. “I don’t know, I didn’t see a lot,” she shrugged, meeting his gaze. “Would you have liked to see more?” “Did you want me to stay?” “You can’t just respond with more questions,” he frowned. “Yes I can. Did you carry on after I left?” SHUT UP! Her inner monologue screamed at her.  Sihtric was pleasantly taken aback.  Sure, he had known Eva for some time but never really paid any close attention to Gisela’s younger sister.  She was pretty, and generally quite spiky.  But there was something that drew him to her, sure she was a brat but he kind of liked that.  Being the focus of her sharp tongue was fun. “I’d have been rather uncomfortable if I didn’t,” he admitted, glancing at her sideways.  “And when you mentioned something about sneaking, well that was interesting.”  Eva took another drag on her cigarette and feeling brave sidled closer to him before whispering, “Do you think of me when you touch yourself?”  Jesus Christ Eva what are you doing to yourself and him? To her surprise, Sihtric turned quickly and gently but firmly grabbed her jaw, pulling her towards him. “Be careful what you’re saying Eva, because I’m not one of your fuck boys,” “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” “Don’t think I haven’t seen how you are around guys Eva; flirting with them, leading them on, taking what you want and then kicking them to the kerb so they can’t get close and hurt you.”  Eva’s heart hammered in her chest and she was at a loss for words.  He was right though; she did do that with guys and she didn’t want to get hurt, so she was always the one to take, take, take and then end it.  No wonder people thought she was a bitch. “I don’t think about you like that,” she muttered as he released her jaw.  She was pretty stunned to be honest that he had paid enough attention to her up until now to realise how she worked.  She was aware that they were on the edge of something, and she had to think carefully before proceeding if this was to have a positive outcome.  She didn’t move away though, inches separating their bodies. “Good,” he replied.  “And in answer to your question, I might need some more information.  Or inspiration.” He looked her up and down, winked and stalked back into the house. “Sihtric!” she called after him, then heard more voices.  Great, Uhtred and Gisela were home.  Hello, evening of awkward tension.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Uhtred, when he left Brida to become enslaved by the Welsh. I honestly believe that Uhtred would never abandon her like that, especially since he knows what it’s like to be a slave. Like, I get that he couldn’t bring himself to kill her (she was his oldest friend and pregnant!) but he so would’ve at least tried to rescue her. It was bad writing, if you think of it as making Brida seem like she needs a man to save her. Brida deserves better. (It would’ve made a more interesting story-line too, rather than the crew just traveling through the woods with kids, not that I didn’t love the Coccham babysitters club.)

Favourite Friendship: the coccham squad!! love my boys 

Character I most identify with: hmm, maybe Sihtric? we’re both fairly introverted and quiet, but observant and loyal as hell

When I started shipping them: probably around the time we got to see their domestic life in Coccham.

My thoughts: Gisela pretty much died for nothing :/

What makes me happy about them: She made Uhtred a better man, the one is he now, and they really did love each other.

What makes me sad about them: that he didn’t even get to say a proper goodbye :(

 250 WORD REFLECTION

To begin with, coming out of Christmas holiday rested and off the university workflow, this project was like fast a refresher to get any potential rust off of me whether it has to do with animation, drawing or just the work mood as a whole. Having only 1 week to do the project, it allowed me to instantly get in a work flow mood, so I had to be precise with my approach to the project. Me and my classmate Tim took the initiative to team up and we had other 2 classmates, Momchil and Gisela joins us later as well.

In this project I learned and started implementing into my animation workflow, thinking and working smarter, by eliminating unnecessary scenes or frames as well as was a good introduction into working with a team and take the initiative to arrange calls on discord to discuss where everybody was doing their animations, how we were going to combine those animations together, and how our intro and outro would play outl.

This allowed me to dip my toes into what working with a team, feels like, which later on helped me with the Character-Colour Project as well with the Graduate assistance project.

Lastly, because my weird and wonderful creature was a quadruped, it acted a good practice for me, as in my 2 minute film the main antagonist is a quadruped giant monster Kaiju.

In conclusion, the project was very fun and a good warm up for the future projects to come.

Tbh now i ship Azarel and Gisela

I never planned for something like that to happen. But I think I have been slowly adopting it because of certain things that have occured. The most notable probably being the truth serum ask that came as a result of me participating in contest the inquisitor had, in which the first 5 people to say “Giesla is my sexy mistress” or something got a drawing. However most of the interactions that have taken place between Azarel and Giesla have been both friendly and antagonistic which is reminiscent of bickering siblings or two people who don’t want to admit they like each other. Given every thing that has happened, the latter is becoming more and more likely. 

So feel free to ship Azarel and Giesla or Azarel with anyone else or anyone else with anyone else. I just request that if any writes or draws anything about this ship or any other involving Azarel it be shown to me because I would love to post it.

Oh so it was probably just regular shadows! My mistake , i just looked at the words "bolt of shadows" and my brain just said that it's shadowflux.

Your reasoning is way better and more logical than the one i had in mind when i read that scene

(mostly i was thinking like - Tam hit lady Geisla with shadowflux- lady Geisla is probably going to be bedridden for a while now- which means Fintan is going to be the one who'll go after Keefe- there will be arson- arson is fun to read )

Also if the attack could have been shadowflux, and if it affected Geisla in a way similar to Fitz was affected, do you think her decision making skills would become worse? Like she would start being too emotional, too easy to anger , impulsive??

And then maybe she would make more rash decisions and make more mistakes, to the point where because of her mistakes sophie and the others start winning?

That's a totally understandable assumption to make! Given how much Tam was just working with shadowflux, his using it could make sense and would be easier to imagine for continuity.

Your ask does make me curious on whether or not we'll see any other prominent villains, as a unique aspect of the Neverseen is that they're actually not super cohesive. Sure, they work together, but they're not emotionally close the way the Black Swan are (at least, that's what I would argue). In the beginning of the series, Fintan was the main antagonist; but that switched to Gisela around Lodestar/Nightfall time. So it could potentially happen again, but we are running out of time

As for if she had been hit by shadowflux, great question! My thought process is that when hit in the chest, it likely will affect the heart, that affects emotions and means you shouldn't focus on big emotions because that will aggravate the echo (this is assuming she doesn't die from shadowflux). My answer depends on whether or not the shadowflux is still in her.

If she's gotten it out? Then I don't actually expect a huge change, as she hasn't shown herself to be an overly emotional character. She's incredibly meticulous with her plans and how she conducts herself, so I think that would help her proceed as usual (compared to Fitz, a more emotional character, who had to change how he functioned for a little bit).

But if the shadowflux is still in her? I think that opens a whole new realm of possibilities. It's sort of sentient and alive and would've been fueled by Tam's fear and hatred, which would then live inside of her and could slowly eat away at her and her reasoning. That's a way to incorporate your suggestion of rash decisions and more mistakes, her fighting against this thing stuck inside of her. It would definitely aid the protagonists, but I think they'd all be uncomfortable or horrified by it

Those are at least my cursory thoughts! I'm sure there's other valid arguments to the contrary
