I was thinking about gachas and luck, and realized, in Arknights, someone could get most non-limited units without touching any of the gatch elements if they have enough patience, and all the limited units if the only gacha they touch is Recruitment and the limit units' banner.

Why I say this:

You get a ridiculous number of units just for playing, and the non-limited welfare units from side events will eventually become available under record restoration. Want a Gladiia? Go finish Under Tides, and you'll get her and get her to max potential. Tequila? Dossoles Holiday just entered record restoration. Go get. You can beat stages with just the free units if you wanted.

There is a certificate shop. You can get some ridiculously good units in the Shop Voucher store. How? Go farm AP-5 when it's available during the week and buy them. Honeyberry and Ethan are amazing. And you'll get some vouchers just by completing daily and weekly missions.

The credit shop has Courier, Gavial, and Dun-nar. You get credits just by logging in and collecting them. Courier and Gavial are good units I still occasionally use.

Texas is free if you do the corkboard missions. She's amazing and many strats require her.

You get commendations and distinction certificates by finishing dailies and just logging in. Not many. But this is where the patience and me saying you can get any non-limited unit without touching a gacha element.

Because if you buy out the first level of the commendation shop, you now have the ability to purchase a free 3* and 4*. There is one 3* exchange voucher for 200 commendations, and one 4* exchange voucher for 750 commendations. You'll have to save several months to get these but they don't go away. The 4* pool for the vouchers doesn't have all of them, but there's a lot and there are actually some meta units in there. Grab yourself a Perfumer and things become much easier with her passive global regen. The shop resets every month, but your commendations do not. If you have patience, you'll eventually get all available ones.

Eventually every non-limited 5* and 6* will be available in the distinction store. Every biweekly banner (normal and kernel) will have a 5* and 6* in the shop, and while it rotates, the unit will be back in time. You'll occasionally also be able to choose what units are in the kernel store, and they will also be available to purchase with distinctions. Without touching a gacha element this takes longer, but possible.

You'll get a free 5* voucher for any 5* before a certain event (always changes for a more recent event) every new celebration event. Just log in, get it, and get a 5* of your choice.

But what did I mean about being able to get limited units? For limited banners, you get a special currency just for that banner. You have to pull on the banner and get 300 units from it, but with 300 of the currency you can just. Go buy whatever limited unit is on the banner. And you can do this without spending a cent, but you have to engage with Recruitment, a gacha element.

Why this doesn't matter:

The cost is all in game currency you can either farm (LMD) or get by logging in and doing your daily missions (Recruitment Permits).

Now, Recruitment is heavily weighted to 3* units. There are some guaranteed 4* tags, senior operator (guaranteed 5*), and top operator (guaranteed 6*), but assume you'll just get nothing but 3* for this. You get 5 commendations each time you pull a 3* no matter what, and once the unit's potential is fully maxed, you can turn the duplicates in for 5 more commendations. And what's in the commendation shop?

Headhunting permits and orundum.

And it resets every month so every month you can get more

There was a brief, strange moment in 2015 when Russell Brand mattered in mainstream British politics. With an election looming, the opposition Labour Party was trailing in the polls against a coalition government that was the very definition of establishment—led by an Eton- and Oxford-educated prime minister in David Cameron and his Westminster- and Cambridge-educated deputy, Nick Clegg, now president of global affairs at Meta. So the Labour leader, Ed Miliband, went seeking the endorsement of Brand, the actor, comedian, and emerging online provocateur whose anti-corporatist screeds to his 9.5 million Twitter followers and 100,000 YouTube subscribers gave him the appearance of a power player. Miliband got Brand’s endorsement but lost the election.

Since then, Brand’s reach has exploded. His YouTube channel now has 6.6 million subscribers, his X account more than 11 million followers. But his anti-establishment message has morphed, from a broader, almost coherent response to the politics of fiscal austerity that shaped the UK after the 2008 financial crisis to a series of cultish, conspiracy-driven narratives that draw in Covid denialism, Russian disinformation, and the far-right-inspired “Great Reset” theory, united by the meta-conspiracy that the mainstream—the “elites”—have darker agendas based on control.

On Saturday, the UK’s Channel Four aired an hour-long documentary in which several women accused Brand of rape and sexual assault. Before the broadcast, the comedian came out swinging. In a video on his YouTube channel, titled “So, This Is Happening,” Brand not only denied the accusations, but leveled some of his own: “[It] makes me question, is there another agenda at play?” he said.

One of Brand’s alleged victims, speaking on the BBC, called his statement “insulting” and “laughable.” But within the alt-media, there was a show of support from figures including Andrew Tate, the misogynist influencer who is awaiting trial for rape and human trafficking in Romania, Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News anchor, who now runs a conspiracy-inflected show on X, and Alex Jones, fined $1.5 billion for lies about the victims of a school shooting. X’s owner, Elon Musk, posted underneath Brand’s video: “Of course. They don’t like competition”—referring, apparently, to those same dark forces referenced by the comedian. The camaraderie between conspiracy theorists, the alt-right, and the “manosphere,” is grimly predictable. Their shared narrative is one of alienation from the mainstream, outsiderdom, and dark forces massing to thwart them. “Opposite day, but with real consequences for people,” as Marc Owen Jones, an expert on disinformation and social media at Hamad bin Khalifa University in Qatar, puts it.

It’s also their audience strategy and the foundation of their business model. Conspiracy influencers are content producers. Moments that generate intense emotions—even if the content producer is, themself, the focus of the scandal—are fantastic for engagement, and they feed the grim economics of the conspiracy business.

Brand’s YouTube channel is a compendium of contemporary bullshit. Covid lockdowns were exercises in social control. The US has “biolabs” in Ukraine; the West’s support for Ukraine is capitalist imperialism. Central bank digital currencies are the government’s attempts to control your money. Evolving gender norms are causing a “crisis in masculinity” and declines in fertility. There are routine crossovers between Brand’s content and the wider conspiracy cinematic universe, with clips on his channels of conspiracy theorist Robert Kennedy Junior, far-right Hungarian president Viktor Orban, and Carlson, who recorded an interview with Brand in August.

“I think Russell Brand’s a particularly interesting case,” Joe Ondrak, UK head of investigations at Logically, a misinformation tracking company, says. “He follows a lot of the ostensibly health yoga retreat, kind of left-leaning, anti-capitalist figures who got really suckered into Covid skepticism, Covid denialism, and anti-vax, and then spat out of the Great Reset at the other end.”

That journey is fairly common. The Covid pandemic led to a crossbreeding of multiple conspiracy theories, unifying multiple strands into a broad meta-narrative around elite capture and dark forces below the surface of the mainstream.

Like Carlson and others, Brand rarely directly restates conspiracy theories himself, instead presenting himself as “just asking questions.” It’s a rhetorical trick that makes it hard to pin down what is based on belief and where conspiracy influencers are following the money—self-radicalizing in the pursuit of more engagement.

“That’s the million-dollar question. How much of it is kind of earnest and genuine and a political shift, and how much of it is grifting?” says Joe Mulhall, director of research at the anti-racism campaign group Hope Not Hate. Mulhall thinks it’s a combination of the two. People get ostracized from the mainstream for views they’ve held or things they say. “And then they find this alternative space online, whereby all of a sudden their numbers grow very, very quickly, and they start to see financial incentives. And so they pivot increasingly in that direction. So it’s kind of symbiotic,” he says.

The business of alt-media personalities is not much different from that of other influencers. Top YouTubers can make millions of dollars a year from the platform by collecting a share of its ad revenue. But for conspiracy theorists or people on the political fringes, that can be fragile. They risk losing their entire revenue if they stray outside of the platform’s rules and get cut off, either entirely or by being demonetized—having their ad revenues turned off.

A 2022 paper by researchers at Cornell showed that “Alt-Lite, Alt-Right, and Manosphere” content creators on YouTube were increasingly diversifying their off-platform revenue streams, apparently to reduce the risk of demonetization. Tate, whose extreme misogyny finally got him banned from most mainstream platforms in 2022, funnels followers from his remaining channels into his paid-for “Hustler’s University.”

It’s a trajectory Brand has also followed. Some of his videos on YouTube have previously been demonetized by the platform after being reported for spreading Covid-19 misinformation. But pinned to the top of the comments under some of his recent posts is a promotional link to a website selling gold, posted from Brand’s account.

On Tuesday morning, YouTube suspended monetization on Brand’s account.

But Brand has other platforms. He has embraced the YouTube alternative Rumble, a Florida-based platform that has picked up a number of exiles from the mainstream. In March, Rumble announced that Brand had reached 1 million subscribers. The financial terms of that arrangement haven’t been released; Rumble didn’t respond to a request for comment.

“A lot of these figures will use a range of platforms simultaneously for different purposes. So if they can keep some form of presence on a mainstream platform, they will, and they will stick broadly within the guidelines of that platform, because they understand that the purpose of that is to reach new audiences,” Mulhall says. “And simultaneously, they will use alt-tech platforms for more extreme content, speaking to a harder audience.”

So-called “alt-tech” platforms like Rumble, Gettr, and Truth Social have become increasingly viable spaces to build audiences, outside of the stricter rules of Instagram, YouTube, or Facebook. While most mainstream platforms have at least paid lip service to reducing the amount of misinformation and conspiracy content, one seems to be embracing it. Under Musk, Twitter has unbanned accounts—including Tate’s—that were previously kicked off the platform, and allowed them to make thousands of dollars off their engagement. “With Twitter’s new monetization policy, there’s a whole host of extreme and difficult or problematic characters that seem to be now, once again, raising money from so-called mainstream platforms,” Mulhall says.

Brand hasn’t posted to any of the platforms since his “So This Is Happening” video—but he did perform at a live show on Saturday night, to a loyal crowd. On X many blue ticks—those users willing to back Musk’s vision with $8 per month—have rallied to support the actor. Misinformation expert Owen Jones did a snap analysis of responses to tweets by media organizations about the story. Seventy percent of top-rated tweets were in support of Brand, suggesting that the economics that support his pivot to conspiracy are bulletproof to scandal.

“It’s got its own built-in defense mechanism when people are deplatformed, because you’re selling people this idea that everything is orchestrated, you’re right to think that it’s all orchestrated. And if they get taken down, all these people just think, ‘Well, that’s because they were telling the truth,’” Ondrak says. “You know that you have an audience which is amenable to conspiracy theories, that you can come right off the bat with the defense that this is all a lie, this is control, because you know they’re going to believe it.”

The allegations against Brand are serious. He may, in time, face consequences in the real world, even as his online profile once again rises, hitched to a self-sustaining elite conspiracy. That conspiracy will roll on, because it’s pervasive, it speaks to something within millions of people. And because its economics don’t just work for content producers, they work for the platforms too.

Vietnamese Dong Prices Are Way Down

Vietnamese Currency Trading at Less than $66/million in Some Places

Prices in U.S. dollars are way, way down for Vietnamese dong. For the first time in the last two years, a cursory glance at one’s options for purchasing Vietnamese dong online yields far more results than has traditionally been the case, with prices serving as less of a barrier-to-entry than they traditionally have over the last several years as banks, credit unions, other MSBs and currency exchanges have increasingly declined to deal in Vietnamese currency.

VND is being advertised for less than $66 per million. For perspective, many online sellers were asking and receiving as much as $150 for one million dong as recently as 2020. That’s a nearly 250% decrease for dong retailers.

As with all “exotic” currencies, these prices tend to be much more fluid and much more volatile than most foreign currencies. A month from today it could very well be next-to-impossible to find certain denominations available commercially, and prices could be back up above $100 per million, where they’ve been for most of the last 2-3 years.

So, what happens now? Once the world experiences a massive inflationary spiral, the current monetary system (in place since 1971) will come to an end. A new monetary system will rise from the ashes. What will it look like? We don’t know for sure. But in all likelihood, it will be built upon some sort of digital currency. Central banks openly discuss their plans to replace national currencies with new cryptocurrencies, giving their governments unprecedented power. With such power, not only will government be able to track everything you buy or sell, it will be able to kick you out of the economic system – just as the Bible says.

If government cryptocurrencies replace paper currencies, individual freedom and liberty will disappear. Governments will be able to “turn off” an individual’s cryptocurrency. That means if you do something the government doesn’t approve of, they’ll be able to shut down your ability to buy and sell. The Canadian government already showed its willingness to do this when it cut off financial access to anyone who supported the Canadian trucker protest. The Bible says this is precisely what will happen in the end times. The Antichrist will establish a global system of commerce. His system will play a part in every economic transaction on earth. It will be so dominant, no one will be able to buy or sell anything without the Antichrist’s approval (Revelation 13:17).

We’re fast approaching a time the prophets warned about. We see the foundations of the Antichrist’s economic system coming into place today. We just experienced a global pandemic (Luke 21:11). A global famine is on the horizon (Matthew 24:7). Israel is back in the land (Jeremiah 23:7-8). The Jewish people are back in Jerusalem (Luke 21:24-28). And the Gospel is being preached throughout the world (Matthew 24:14). Make no mistake. The tribulation, the Antichrist, and global government are part of the world’s immediate future. But don’t despair; this also means the return of Jesus is part of our immediate future (Revelation 22:20). His is an everlasting kingdom (Daniel 2:44) with no more death or crying or pain (Revelation 21:4). So keep your eyes fixed on Him!

As the intensity of the Great SHIFT into an era of Peace and Light expands, enormous ‘stress’ has filled the lives of most of humanity. REMEMBER … we are speaking about a Grand Dream that most call ‘reality’. Nevertheless, NONE of it ‘is’ real. However, the concept that the day-to-day experience is a dream - no different than a night-time dream but with a kind of continuity, is very difficult for most to accept. This is removing all freedoms of speech, privacy, and ownership; Turning society into an open world social credit system and enslaving people in a digital dystopian totalitarian dictatorship.

I thought I’d talk a bit today about how and when I “woke up” around two years ago and why I never fell for the plandemic. I was working at a furniture store and had just started hearing the term Covid 19 being thrown around. My coworker had just gotten back from a vacay in Arizona. She was telling me how the area that they were staying in was starting to close down some of the bars and restaurants because of the virus. She was looking at me all wide-eyed and scared and I remember thinking, “What the heck is wrong with you?” One of the biggest tells about the entire thing for was when I found out that U.S. news stations were using old footage from other countries. For instance, something that was supposedly currently taking in New York was old footage from another country. That was a huge eye opener for me. The following are some of the other reasons that I knew we weren’t being told the truth.

1. There were “boots on the ground” people who were going around and filming at the supposedly overrun hospitals, which were almost completely empty. They were being forced off the premises because they didn’t want them filming the truth. 

2. The doctors and nurses who were working in the supposedly overrun hospitals who had time and energy to make TikTok music videos made no sense. That would never be the case if this had been a true pandemic. 

3. I was told that I supposedly needed to take a shot to cure a virus that was 99.7% curable in my age group. That makes zero sense whatsoever.

4. I watched the media, big pharma, politicians, fast food places, etc. CONTANTLY threatening, bribing and pushing the experimental shots. If you have to do all this to make someone take an shot, there’s something much bigger at play. 

5. I watched as small businesses, churchs, etc. were forced to close down while big box stores, strip clubs, etc. were deemed essential. Really?

Before the plandemic I guess I took a lot at face value. Then I came across a former military guy on Twitter and began to realize how asleep I truly was. From there I discovered Mel K, David Nino Rodriguez, X 22, Q The Storm Rider and many others who saw the big picture. I was shocked to learn that there’s an elite global cabal (or deep state) who owns and is in control of almost everything in our world such as the media, politicians, big pharma, food companies, the entertainment and music industry, etc. This groups’ goal is to get the millions of people in the world down to a smaller and more manageable number. I began to understand the multiple reasons for the plandemic. It was to steal the 2020 election from president Trump by the use of mail-in ballots and other means, and to illegally install pedo puppet Biden who was going to lead us into the Great Reset (new world order), eliminate much of the population with the shots, to strip freedoms one by one from the people until we got used to it and relented to absolute control, to bring us into the new world order (great reset) where we’d own nothing and be happy, switch us to a fully digital currency that could be controlled and cut off at any time, etc. I now see that in most cases the American people and many others were given an allusion of choice as to who they wanted to be in office. It turns out that most of these politicians were one in the same. Former presidents and leaders who I had foolishly put on a pedestal were some of the most evil, and were involved in the most unthinkable acts imaginable, including treason, child trafficking and rape, etc. I realized that color revolutions were used by the deep state to take out legally elected leaders in other countries as a means to install their own puppets. I learned that orchestrated inside jobs like 9/11, were used as a means to send the U.S. into unnecessary wars to fund the deep state industrial war complex. I learned that child trafficking is worldwide the biggest business and learned about the trafficking tunnels that run under every country in the world. I could go on and on all day about all that I’ve learned but that’s much of it in a large nutshell. Once you truly wake up there’s no going back to sleep.
