♡ my review of all this twisted glory! ♡

i have no words to express how much i loved all this twisted glory. 🥹 i must admit that my expectations weren't that high when i started reading the reviews, but i was very positively surprised by the book.

❥ the mythology of this universe, from the beginning, was very interesting to me, so i found myself very immersed in the story throughout the reading. i didn't have any problems with the pace of the story and, in fact, i think tahereh develops everything she proposes here very well. my only problem is that it's a short book, which could benefit immensely from a few more pages.

❥ alizeh continues to be one of the best protagonists i've ever read, and one of my favorites. i love the way she behaves when faced with the obstacles that arise in her path, her intelligent and pragmatic demeanor worthy of a queen. as for her romantic choice, tahereh is right: it's pretty obvious who she's going to be with throughout the book.

❥ i knew that cyrus's povs would be impactful and yet i managed to be surprised by the intensity of his feelings for alizeh. we also get a deeper look at his character, how lovable he is and everything he's going through during this journey, and he really became one of my favorites. i loved reading about his point of view.

❥ i'm not particularly moved by kamran's dramas, and i think he's a pretty bland character. his feelings for alizeh prove increasingly volatile, and his arrogance when dealing with her is irritating.

❥ i really like all of Alizeh's friends, hazan and huda in particular got the most of my attention here.

i can't wait to read the next books, this is already one of my favorite sagas! ♡

♱ i feel like cyrus would be so touch-starved. especially ever since his mother stopped giving him attention because of what he did to his father, he practically forgot what it felt like to feel loved.

♱ whenever you told him you loved him, he thought that it was a joke. one of those “haha she's telling me that she loves me for pity lol”

♱ he’d try to push you away, thinking that you don’t actually love him. like snapping at you, ignoring you sometimes, but they all weren’t that bad since he was obviously hopelessly in love with you.

♱ but after you realized what he was doing, you showed him how much you do love him. and once he realized that you love him and you won’t leave him? OH, get ready.

♱ this man is CLINGY. like “no don’t walk away from me continue cuddling pls” and like make you stay in bed for HOURS.

♱ VERY protective but like not in the toxic way. he’s protective because he doesn’t want to lose you AND because he’s literally a king and that means that you’ll be a queen if you marry him so…

♱ gets you ANYTHING you want. that ring you saw? immediately got it. that beautiful necklace you were staring at? it's in your dresser. anything and everything you want immediately.

♱ forehead kisses. just forehead kisses. other than actual kisses on the lips, it's all forehead kisses.

♱ he’d definitely let you hang out in his blue room. the two of you could be on the couch, reading, working, etc etc. it just makes him happy seeing you in his happy place.

♱ whenever he gets tortured by iblees, you’re always there with him. you wish that it could stop and that he would stop hurting. (thankfully alizeh’s there) especially afterward. whenever he’s passed out, you make it your JOB to keep him safe and comfortable and he loves it.

♱ whenever he wakes up, he’s even more clingy than he was before. he’s not afraid to be clingy in front of you anymore after you showed him that you love all of him.

♱ will take you out to the garden. he’ll lay down with you and just lay there. either the two of you are talking about whatever or just lying down in silence. it’s peaceful nonetheless.

orange rays of light seeped through your shared bedroom curtains.

you carefully shifted your body to achieve a more comfortable position to avoid waking cyrus up. A soft groan came from the king. you gently ran your fingers through his bronze hair to quiet him down and send him back to his previous slumber.

the sun was slowly rising by now, delicate rays of sunlight fell on cyrus’ peaceful face. you brushed a strand of hair out of his face with something of a touch. it was considerately too soft for anyone to call it a touch. you smiled at his sleeping figure. thanking god that you woke up to this view every morning.

he slept awfully late last night, so late that you could’ve barely kept your eyelids waiting for him. you were aware of the fact that he was a busy man with the job of a king. 

just when you were about to get up, his hands found your waist. “no, stay, please.” he grumbled into the comfort of his pillows. “i- we have to get ready, as much as i hate it, you have a lot of things to do.” you tried to convince him with your all too lovely tone. “no, please..” he stuffed his head further into the pillows, while his hands held on tighter to your waist. “c’mon baby,” you pleaded with a sigh, shifting further and further away from him. “5 more minutes, please angel” he mumbled, hugging you closer until you really couldn’t escape from his hold.
