Well that was stressful. So I went to search for a capcut older version cuz mine VERY RUDELY turned on auto updates (that wasn't even an option before) and updated on its own-- Only for me to find out that there's searches in my search history that I DID NOT search for at all. So I went to my gmail and changed my password, signed it out on all devices it's on. The searches continued. So I went to check out its 2-step verification, added More to it. It STILL CONTINUED so I got so stressed out Aly switched with me to figure it out. And now I'm back. And the searches are still a mystery unsolved.

#ariambles #it also ended up stressing aly out too. so the body is very much tired. idk how else to deal with the searches so aly just went with #the next best option. turn off search history saving. i still dont know what is wrong with the email. i checked it on the have i been #pawned site. its safe. i checked the listed devices its signed in on. theres only MY OWN devices. just my pc and my phone. whenever #it does the weird searches. i look at the details and it unhelpfully supplies me with Unknown Device. gee thanks for that. aly have #changed my password so many times too and it was Still happening. shes all but practically turned on all the 2-step verification too #aly also said that turns out there have always been weird searches even during the year 2022 (around the time i made the gmail)#and its so??? why. who. what. where. how. my other gmails doesnt have that problem too. its just this One account which also happen #to be my MAIN ACCOUNT WHERE A LOT OF STUFF IS CONNECTED TO. weve tried everything and ive no idea what else to do now

so Apparently a game i was running on my computer (without a cooler thing for a good minute there, because i guess i thought i was invulnerable to heat) may or may not have burnt out some parts of my machine. and it's been a couple months since i've played it bc it just stopped working one day and i just had to accept that lmao- but anyway i'm booting the game up again today, Surely this will go differently :3

#funny how my personal email account that i've had since back when you needed an invite to get a gmail account #and i was lucky enough to be friends with someone who worked at jpl and had connections lololol #gets almost no spam at all even after like 19 years of being consistently the email address i use to do... almost everything #and yet the email account connected to my fandom presence is the one that gets a constant stream of garbage spam #like i just delete it... it all goes directly to the spam folder and isn't actually a problem or whatever #just... funny how that is... isn't it... >.>

i can't sleep and i want to fight youtube

#been seeing posts abt them targeting adblockers and now specifically firefox users #and i ended up thinking about and going down the mental rabbit hole of how they've obfuscated info over time #like back when they added ads to yt they used to show where they were in the video timeline w a lil yellow thing #and it was only one ad. that you could immediately skip if you wanted #over time they made it so you had to wait to skip. and then they made some ads unskippable #and then they made it two ads. i swear at one point i had seen Three but that was shortlived or i may be mistaken #but i never realized when it happenee but they did at some point remove those ad indicators. now they just #they just Happen. and a lot of the time they're placed in breaks in the video but not always #but that's not the problem. the problem is they used to give us that heads-up that ads were coming #and now they Don't. they just appear and we Have to watch them at least a little bit #its like the same shit with the dislike bar. that was incredibly relevant information that just got Axed one day #its info that they have and they had provided it for you before but now they decided hey. :> its not important #when it really fucking is actually #i got particularly incensed yesterday when trying to watch a video where theyre playing a card game #the rounds are really short and last like a minute each. and in between each round they would play ads #i only know this because my phone does not have an adblocker #i don't like it much in general but that was a truly egregious experience and i legit could not watch it. i stopped entirely #THIS is precisely why i use an adblocker and that is what youtube wants to push onto you #it makes me really mad just remembering what once was and how it's gotten so bastardized at this point #fuck google tbh the only thing i condone of theirs is gmail and drive #and its a shame that they have such a monopoly on internet video hosting that there is no alternative anyway #mrah im tired and angry

(Pardon my snide) …aaaand apparently Tumblr doesn’t like my little 70s band spam reblog party, because every single post here displaying a YouTube video displayed a CAPTCHA image and the little “unusual traffic” message, and I submitted TWENTY CAPTCHA READINGS to decode text in weird, nearly-illegible font, and now it just has the message and won’t let me view videos or attempt to do more CAPTCHAs to make the videos available AT ALL. Because God forbid I make several posts on the weekend and have it be a stark difference compared to my middle-of-the-week activity when *gasp* I work in a hospital and don’t have much time for Tumblr between my twelve-hour shifts!

Edit: …And you wanna know why I make snarky, negative posts like this? Because this has happened 2 other times before… I can fill out every CAPTCHA in the world, and it won’t go away, but the moment I make a post complaining about it, suddenly ALL the videos come back. And after an hour trying to fix this, guess what got fixed the moment I made this post?

sorry it is so unbelievably stupid that there is no simple way to get old emails from an old google account into my active google account. @ google what on earth do you mean i can't import a .mbox file directly and have to use a third-party app i've never heard of. my brother in christ you are the ones who gave me the .mbox file in the first place

i love it when i get possessed by the urge to do something and i feel like i must do it right away Or Else

#it's not even about school work this time. gdi.#i was talking to a friend at school about lost media in general and fanfiction in particular #and realized that i haven't backed up fics from my bookmarks in years #and now i feel the need to Immediately wade through a backlog of fic at 11:00 PM.#i am not going to do that.#but also i do have a small archive of my own but half of it isn't sorted #and that will cause problems bc my backups are all pdfs and i'd like to have epub versions as well.#so. now i gotta trawl through all that shit. and get epubs of any fics that are still online. (i don't Have to but brain demands-#-i be thorough. so. i guess that's on the list.)#so now i have a summer project i guess. i'll be backing up fics in general but sorting and making redundancies for fics is the goal.#granted it's only fic i enjoy and a personal archive on my own hard drive to preserve my own tastes.#but it still feels important.#i need to set up an extra gmail account too so i can store them on google drive for some additional external storage.#sorry this is really rambly i just am Possessed by the need to do this and uh. i have work at 8 tomorrow morning lol #but downloading and backing up fics i like is very important to me. the next goal is to track down ones i have on my other devices and ensu #e that i have them.#i have. a problem. it's fine
