March 31 will be Treys one year anniversary in heaven. I wrote this 2 months after he passed. Some days I see him in strangers everywhere and other days I see things that remind me of him like pelicans, seagulls and pennies. I truly believe that death just like a birth, a graduation,a marriage, or a divorce creates a timeline in a persons life. Everything before Treys sudden passing is now a memory and after his passing is not simply The After it’s a timeline filled with wish’s, if only’s and if I just had more time, if I had only know. But that’s my point we don’t get warnings of sorts, maybe if someone has a terminal illness there is that time to prepare but with Trey’s sudden passing we had no warning, he wasn’t sick, we had plans, he had plans until we didn’t, he didn’t. All gone in a minute in the middle of a Global Pandemic God called him home. So my After looks nothing like my Before. Grief changes people it creates a darkness, a sadness that if you aren’t careful will dominate your life. I miss Trey every second of every day and would give anything for one more second with him. I know he wouldn’t want my life to be filled with darkness and sadness but he would want me to live. So I try and some days I want to pull the covers up over my head and just sleep so I don’t have to face a day without him. Lately I try to at the beginning of my day talk to him and I feel his presence with me all day. I put one foot in front of the other and make it through another minute, another hour and finally another day. When I do see things that remind me of him I smile and thank God for allowing Trey to always send me reminders he is ever present. R I P T O M Y F R I EN D . . Back.in 2006, I had the good fortune to have met this amazingly, talented, kind , caring, loving and funny man! Alfie was what he called himself in this Western World he was named Afzaal Mohammed at birth but he was always Alfie to me....😊 We had a passonate and whirlwind relationship however as neither of us appeared to "look" our age amd we had met through work, I had no idea he was a mere 23 year old when I was 35!! And because we had already enjoyed 3 months of loving we thought 'what the hell' and we carried on...After all he loved Fawlty Towers! C'mon, how many 23 year olds do you know who watch that!? 🤣😂🤣 With Life's 'twists and turns' and my alcoholism our relationship ended as passionately as it had begun, however over the next 16 years we would learn that we would always be there for one another and briefly in 2016 we tried again...it was not to be...yet, he always had my back...💔 and I had his.. I learned today that Alfie passed away at just 38 years old. I was aware of his underlying health issues however I am heartbroken. 🙈 Alfie was and always will be my rock...my Elvis, my Buzz Lightyear...🤣😘 Once again, I am painfully reminded to live for the moment... RIP Alfie 1983-2022 I will always love you thank you for all that uou taught me, for the laughs we shared and the adventures we had.
