The morning was bright and beautiful, a blessing in good ol’ London, and George was sitting on his bed, reading about something that wasn’t the Problem. Did this concern you? Not really. Did this mean you were going to drop it? Not even slightly.

“Hiya, Georgie.” You leaned on his door frame, “Whatcha doin’?” He raised an eyebrow at you, completely unimpressed, and nodded at his book, before going back to his reading. 

“I’m clearly crocheting a sweater for myself right now.” He grumbled from behind the thick, hardcover novel he had his nose stuck in. An affronted huff left you.

“Well geez, okay, what’s got your knickers all bunched up?” This time his eyes didn’t even leave the book, only sharpening below his bunched up eyebrows.

“Wouldn’t you like to know.” He spit and then promptly dropped his peeved expression to a calm and neutral one, his eyes trained only on the book. 

“George."

“Y/n.”

"Georgeeeee."

"Fine, bloody hell." He patted the spot on the bed beside him. He grinned toothily when your expression still remained confused. “You wanted to know what I'm reading about? Sit down, I’ll explain it to you.” Ah okay, that made sense. You sat yourself down next to him and startled somewhat at the arm he immediately slung around your shoulder, tucking you into his side.

“Okay so, this book I was reading, it's about love, right?” He looked at you, you nodded at him. “So the part that feels love, despite the stereotypes and anecdotes, is somewhat obviously the brain. The heart’s for pumping blood, the brains for thinking and feeling. The limbic system, in the brain, it controls our behavioural and emotional responses, so many people consider it the main control system of love and see, some say love is also based around trust and belief and pleasure, but others say it’s based around passion, commitment and intimacy. So…” His voice faded out into the background, your heartbeat reverberating in your ears. Did he know? Was he just teasing you with this? Surely not, he wouldn’t, not just because he was oblivious as hell, but also because he’d not be nearly as comfortable clinging to you like he was now if he knew. “And I was looking for all that stuff to do with the-”

“George.”

“Yes? Oh, I was rambling, I’m so sorry, I-”

“Kiss me?” 

“Oh.” The tips of his ears were bright red and burning. 

“I-That is, uh, only if you want to, because I wouldn’t want to like…make anything awkward.”

“No, no it’s okay. I-uh-I would love to kiss you.” 

And then he did.

His lips were soft and warm on yours, and you were coming undone under his touch. His glasses hit the bridge of your nose and you pulled away briefly to breathe a laugh, before he once again captured your lips. He wrapped his arms around your torso and pulled you onto his lap, deepening the kiss. Then you both pulled apart, unable to breathe. He dropped his forehead onto your shoulder and you smiled fondly.

"Why were you reading about love, George?"

His grumbled response of "Shut up." sent you giggling and he burrowed his face further into your shoulder.

*This is a reference to a song by Anssi Kela that was popular in the early 2000's. It's generally considered an upbeat (overly so to some) and folksy song that makes fun of social class, but here Käärijä recontextualizes it as a song about privilege, which is interesting considering how poverty, unemployment and severe mental health issues among young adults have reached an all-time high in the past decade. Just throwing in some extra context here because I genuinely think most of Käärijä's lyrics have a subtext of exceptionally sharp-sighted social/societal commentary that deserves more attention.

**He actually did this a couple of years ago, he sold his mustache for 52 euros lol. The buyer showed up ag one of his recent gigs with the mustache in a ziplock bag. There's a hilarious video of it somewhere, I'll see if I can find it after posting

***"Red Marli" refers to a specific cheap juice that basically tastes like sweet non-alcoholic mulled wine. It's a popular winter drink and apparently Käärijä's vodka mixer of choice. He's made a super fun song about this weird spiced juice simply called Punainen Marli, I'm actually thinking of translating that one next hehe. (There's another intertextual cross-reference between these two songs, since at the beginning of Punainen Marli the listener is warmly welcomed to Käärijä's tavern, the one he mentions having dreamed of in this song.)

I just finish reading a book 'Unravel the dusk' by Elizabth lim and reading that post makes my heart more melted. After the angst i endure from the book, thinking domestic drabble is the best remedy. 16. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Gosh, I'm.. pretty happy with myself so there's not really big things that stand out to me? Like sure there's tiny things I could pick but.. meh. I'd probably want to change myself to be more secure in my relationships, including with myself. It's probably really obvious that I do have times I get really self conscious (despite me liking to consider I've calmed way down w it over the years) and without the praise and approval of others I tend to feel reaaally shitty, so being more content with just spending time with good ol Aqua would be nice. And more secure with my relationships with others would be nice because I, again, kinda fall apart without constant reminders I'm not forgotten so being able to be more secure being on my own and more secure with the relationships I'm lucky to have would be really nice I think.

28. Do you collect anything?

I'd say so! Plushies although I'm running out of space on my bed to put them, andd anime/game figures when I have the space/money (or merch for stuff I like in general? I keep my eye out for figures more though). I also generally like collecting anything I just.. think is neat! Like shiny stuff. But I don't put effort into that really, not as much as I seek out collecting more plushies and merch.

ITS JUST THAT SHORT GAAAAAA FJWRJJWMRNFNF i had the biggest jumpscare ever because she did it on the morning and i was like half asleep so i didnt even notice how odd it was that she was cutting so much of my hair (i kinda just assumed she was cutting extra bits??? ignoring how much of my hair was falling out???) and then i looked at my reflection on the window on the car when i was leaving for school and DEAR GOD ITS SO MUCH SHORTER NOW RJSJGNWNGN aaa my hair also gets curly as hell JDKANFNSN part of the reason my grandma and my mom like it so much and insist on not cutting it ever So Yeaj actually i think i should feel grateful about the hair cut because now i don't have to ask for a hair cut again in like. a lot of time. hooray ? OHHH MAN i haven't gotten out of school yet so my grandma hasnt been as annoying about cleaning stuff these days but i fear she might be once i get out of school and im SO SCARED GAh actually i also got my phone taken away for like a bit because i did bad on my grades (i got two 60's and that was really it) so nowadays i have to put in extra effort into school aaa LUCKILY FOR LIL OL ME MY TESTS HAVE BEEN GOING VERY WELL!!! i just have like two kinda annoying ones on the way and im done!!! with the tests that is. im still going to school. for some reason.
