Good morning! Today's the Big Day, where all Santas across the world have completed their mission. Let's see how everyone turned out!

From "me briefly waking up at 3am," I saw that The Santa was the first to finish. Sadly, statistics were wiped from the website not too long after, so we can't tell how many houses he visited, cookies he ate, or glasses of milk he drank.

Of the remaining three, Fusible Santa acted as expected: worst present output, but best coverage. Granted, getting better coverage than the rest isn't exactly the trickiest task, but man is the bar low here. Despite this, somehow he managed to shoot his counts up to 3.14 billion presents and 410,365 cookies eaten.

Against all odds, Google Santa actually came in second place this year! Despite having an all-around more competent website, Google Santa delivered 7.7 billion presents exactly, same as last time. Is Google Santa stagnating...?

NORAD Santa, despite a second place finish last time, decided to put himself into gear and deliver a staggering 7,883,693,263 presents, actually beating out Google this time! Despite a generally less functional website, is NORAD ready to take back the crown...?

And that wraps up the Santa Tracker Showdown this year! Who knows if I'll be back for 2024. Santa Trackers only come around once a year, and perhaps so shall I. Hopefully that's long enough for me to figure out how to spice things up better next time.

It's just before 6am here, and I'm lying in bed waiting to be woken up by my kiddos looking for signs that Santa came. (He did--and left two filled stockings and a giant present each!)

My older son is 4, and this is the first year he has fully grasped the Santa concept. He spent all day yesterday monitoring the Google Santa tracker and asking, "When will he get to our house??" (From Russia all around the world to Boston.) He helped prepare the peppermint milk and mint cookies plus carrots for the reindeer. He stayed up way past his bedtime cause he was just too excited to sleep.

My 2-year-old was just yelling, "Santa!!" randomly all day because enthusiasm is contagious even when you don't really understand what's going on. 🤣

Children truly bring the joyful wonder and feeling of magic to Christmas! I hope you are able to experience a little of it from the young relatives you have in your life! ❤️ Merry Christmas, everyone!!!

Current Month in TOA: Verdant Rain Moon

Our first lore event of 2024 begins this month! It will begin at noon EST on January 1st and run until the beginning of February. Please wait until the event begins for the team announcements and more information.

Inventories are locked in according to what you signed up with. Signups for the event will not be reopening at this time.

If you missed it last month, TOA held a Secret Santa event! Everyone pulled through with some really cool gifts, have a look if you've not already!

Please don’t forget to leave feedback on our [feedback poll] for this month! If you have feedback during the course of the event, feel free to leave it whenever it crosses your mind, but we will have specific questions about it on February’s form.

On the topic of the feedback poll, we would like to remind everyone that the mods are all people too. Being passive aggressive and rude serves no one. Please also make sure that if you're calling our attention to a problem, that you're being specific about that problem (quoting/timestamping recent incidents, for example) and not just vaguely alluding to some situation that we have to sleuth out instead.

Important Updates

Starting from this month on, it is requested that all asks with claims in them wait a minimum of 48 hours before resending or asking a moderator if it went through unless you are sending a claim on the final day of an event prize period. This is separate from the 24-hour clause about application/reserve submissions.

Starting today, we will be requiring that all members use a google sheets tracker for keeping track of their stats. We understand that this transition will take time for existing members, however, so we will not be penalizing the lack of skill point trackers yet. We will be working on gathering templates for you to use, and will link these options to our application for future members to fill out. If you need help, please contact Mod Rai.

We've had some feedback this past year about muns repeatedly & rapidly swapping through muses, and would like to address it. We do not encourage people holding onto muses longer than they should if they aren't gelling with a character. However, it becomes a problem when someone is swapping through muses with exceeding frequency. Please think carefully before taking the plunge on a new muse, as frequent drops affect your partners, too. We have, over the past few months begun to - and will continue to - approach these muns with a one-month cooldown between swapping/picking up a new muse, if need be.

When was the last time you saw snow? ❄️ I have never seen snow and remain to be curious about it. How does it feel like when it lands on you - like drops of rain or like soft fluffy feathers or am I super off? What does it look like up close? Can you actually lie in it without freezing your ass off? It will be A Day when I finally encounter snow, hahaha.

What's your favorite color for a Christmas tree to be besides green?🎄 Green has always felt the most Christmassy, but white also has a certain classy feel to it too.

What are three of your favorite things to do when it's snowing outside? I don't know, I can't relate. I imagine I'd have a sensory interest in it the way I like to play with sand, though.

What did you get for Christmas this year? What is your favorite color for Christmas lights to be? Yellow just gives off that cozy, homey vibe that I love so much. Other colors can never hit it the same way.
