Good morning! Today's the Big Day, where all Santas across the world have completed their mission. Let's see how everyone turned out!
From "me briefly waking up at 3am," I saw that The Santa was the first to finish. Sadly, statistics were wiped from the website not too long after, so we can't tell how many houses he visited, cookies he ate, or glasses of milk he drank.
Of the remaining three, Fusible Santa acted as expected: worst present output, but best coverage. Granted, getting better coverage than the rest isn't exactly the trickiest task, but man is the bar low here. Despite this, somehow he managed to shoot his counts up to 3.14 billion presents and 410,365 cookies eaten.
Against all odds, Google Santa actually came in second place this year! Despite having an all-around more competent website, Google Santa delivered 7.7 billion presents exactly, same as last time. Is Google Santa stagnating...?
NORAD Santa, despite a second place finish last time, decided to put himself into gear and deliver a staggering 7,883,693,263 presents, actually beating out Google this time! Despite a generally less functional website, is NORAD ready to take back the crown...?
And that wraps up the Santa Tracker Showdown this year! Who knows if I'll be back for 2024. Santa Trackers only come around once a year, and perhaps so shall I. Hopefully that's long enough for me to figure out how to spice things up better next time.

HERE WE GO AGAIN, MY FELLOW BELIEVERS IN SANTA! The day is finally here, for us to keep an eye on our favorite holly jolly man with presents via NORAD Tracks Santa!
Here’s your yearly history lesson about this merry tradition:
In 1955, a Sears department store placed an advertisement in a Colorado Springs newspaper telling children that they could telephone Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.  But the phone number for the “hotline” had a typo in it and calls from excited kids went to Colorado Springs’ Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) Center instead. Colonel Harry Shoup responded by telling children that there were signs on the radar that Santa was on his way south from the North Pole.  Colonel Shoup also told his staff to give all children who called in a “current location” for Santa Claus. A tradition began which continued when NORAD replaced CONAD in 1958.  And it’s been going on for OVER SIXTY-FIVE YEARS!
As of right now on the tracker (8:26 am EST), Santa is soaring over Australia in his open sleigh, and he and the reindeer have already delivered 827k gifts!  YOU CAN DO IT, SANTA!  GET THE MAGIC ACROSS THE GLOBE FOR 2023!!
Meanwhile, NORAD’s Santa-spying tech can also be used as a fun way to learn more about the world, since its map pops up new links to Wikipedia articles and photos–and sometimes little videos–for locations Santa visits! Check it out!

The red phone rang one day in December 1955, and Shoup answered it, Pam says. "And then there was a small voice that just asked, 'Is this Santa Claus?' "
His children remember Shoup as straight-laced and disciplined, and he was annoyed and upset by the call and thought it was a joke — but then, Terri says, the little voice started crying.

NORAD Santa is the first to cross the 1,000,000,000 threshold! Congratulations! That being said, Google is starting to catch up, being over halfway there and closing in on China pretty soon. (Remember! Google Santa's present distribution is based on the population of the locations he visits!)

Also, I don’t know if this will be of interest to anyone (possibly those with younger kids who still believe) but NORAD is getting ready to track Santa

me as a kid discovering timezones and realizing that when I was experiencing Christmas Eve and the anticipation of presents Santa had already visited Japan and England and other countries and they were already up experiencing Christmas morning
