Was it always this cold?

The battle is over with, yellows and greens and purples and guts galore

Stain the battle field red red red

Just like me,

Sinking and swimming rich red, red, grey?

Busy celebration, wild relief.

But my colors stop moving. Frozen in place

Where is my heart?

Where is my brain?

My fingers, my hands.

They move.

But not the right ones.

My hands are not made of metal, iron, or steel.

Back to the core, my s-sp-s-heart.

Down, down, down.

Wires strangle me as I move.

Around my mind, tendons, spi-sp-[error]

Where is my helmet?

I could shake it o-of- out

Push past, back to the red red grey

I feel something soft, outside the wire

Soft but cold.

What is this?

This is where I was, but this is not me.

Where did I go?

I push against the wire, iron hot around my rre- grey face and run around my metal coffin,

Wrapped slowly around and around, choking me-m-it gone.

I am not talking.

The world begins to rock, nice and slow.

Not down, out.

Air

I open the-th-my vents

And feel nothing.

Squeeze my-m-their hand

It’s so cold in here.

It’s not cold.

I need my face. Air.

It’s cold but I feel hot.

I can feel it, something rushing from its-it-i-my head to i-my fin-fi-digits.

Everything is blue.

Make it red.

I lift i-my hands

Wrap them around -my face

Slide my digits under the blue, blue, blue

And pull.

Creak, crack, splinter, scream

It falls to the ground

Happy faces look my way

Absolutely love the idea that it was April who got the boys super into snow days.

Like, pre-April, they probably would view the days as miserable, since as turtles they’re likely more susceptible to the cold and back then they probably had much less to keep warm with.

The cold altogether was just never good to them - and then April comes around and teaches them how to make a snowman. And when it’s done, she pelts them with snowballs. And suddenly, the cold is now fun, and they might still be shivering, but now they’re smiling too.

I just had a thought

in last life pearl and Scott totally cuddled and slept in the same bed

in double life I imagine pearl laying awake with Tilly on top of her meanwhile Scott and Cleo are cuddling across the map

I can’t imagine her in any other series sleeping in the same bed as any of her future teams or cuddling with them. Totally separated. She and Bigb had beds that were across from each other in limited life. In secret life her team lived in completely different houses and her dogs were outside. In wild life I think they have the equivalent of like three king sized beds pushed together, impulse, Scott, and Cleo were always more towards the inside while pearl sleeps right at the edge, nearly falling off the bed. There’s something so personal and intimate in sleeping that near to other people that she just can’t do after the double life betrayal. As much as she would like to be close to them she just can’t do that, it just reminds her of being alone and she takes some comfort in that.

I finally watched The Amazing Digital Circus after seeing all the hype about it (and it's STILL no.1 on trending. Wild) and now I have been struck by the curse of theme song stuck on repeat in brain. Help

I brought in some homemade peanut butter fudge for my coworkers, today, as well as some ornaments as little holiday gifts, and everyone who saw me expressed appreciation ... it felt really nice, I won't lie. Just ... to do something small for others like this. And I've been noticing that whenever I reach out and try to help or comfort or offer something to someone else, it makes me feel a bit better.

I think sending out tree messages yesterday had a similar effect, and helping the kiddos on Thursday with building gingerbread houses and making shakers for their sing-a-long. It's hard to put into words, but it feels like I'm finally coming out of the funk I've been in, and it's because I'm choosing to be kind in spite of everything I'm going through.
