I would love it to be one of these...

but I'd realistically probably be one of these, or something. Large, not super powerful, somewhat unreliable, hating my form not because I hate the GP50s, I actually quite like them, but because I would prefer another. I do think that could be an interesting character arc.

The Santa Fe Working Stockton in 1993 -- 6 Photos by Marty Bernard Via Flickr: Second three photos: I first caught AT&SF GP50 3816 down by the Stockton yard on April 16, 1993. Then I moved down to the Tower and waited for her crew to start to leave town passing the Tower. The last photo shows a couple of diamonds at the Tower. I wrote on the slides that it was Train 169.

MP 5010, Texarkana, TX

Missouri Pacific train CFZ departing Texarkana with an SD50, SD40-2C, two GP50's, a B30-7A, and an SD40-2 consist. The new SD50 was an unusual visitor as they were initially assigned to Powder River coal trains. The train consist was still 100% TOFC at this time. Southern Pacific had been running doublestack business for SeaLand since 1977 but Union Pacific did not buy in until 1984 when they started operating APL trains between Chicago and LA. In the background the shells of the 10 story McCartney Hotel and Texarkana Union Station can be seen above the train. Thirty years later and both building have yet to be redeveloped.

Northbound UP Local Train at Liberty, MO por Zach Pumphery Por Flickr: Switching out the Liberty Center Siding to interchange with the CP, is UP Train LMR38 31 over H Highway on the CP Kansas City Sub. From here they'll head to Trenton with the "Cobb Job". It drew interesting power often in those days, today with a decent patched Cotton Belt GP40M-2, a one of a kind former MP GP50 converted into an S6-1B Road Slug wearing 2004 North Little Rock Centennial logos, and its mother GP40-2, former Southern Pacific. Locomotives: UP 1524, UPY 940, UP 1429 8-31-09 Liberty, MO

EMD GP38-3 5826 was rebuilt from Southern GP50 7023 and worked around NS for awhile before being sold to Genesee and Wyoming in 2020.
