I think the Ninjago fandom SERIOUSLY needs to realize that we should not be singing Ninjago, and by extension, Lego's praises every time there's a bit of diversity seen.

Let's not forget, the basis of Ninjago is still completely an Orientalist view of ninjas and a bunch of Asian cultures lazily slapped together.

Let's not forget that every disabled character has been a villain (even if some of them joined the heroes later on that doesn't change much).

Let's not forget one of their disabled villains is literally named fucking Daddy No Legs (I know it's a joke about the daddy long legs spider but it's SO fucked up)...

Let's not forget that the ONLY canonically queer character is ambiguous. We don't know what she identifies with, we just know she's some flavor of queer.

Let's not forget this is the same franchise with the racist caricature that is Chen.

Let's not forget about the "magical islanders who sacrifice someone to their angry god so they don't die".

Sure, there COULD be a chance to finally change and improve but seeing as this show has been going on for 12 years, I highly doubt they're just gonna start doing better rep for anyone possible out of nowhere

A lot of LH fans saying that George ignored team orders.. honestly, get George away from them. Admittedly I had the sound off, but did see that GR said on radio that they needed to be smart to do something when Alonso served his penalty, but I believe he didn't know yet that Alonso had served it under the safety car? I could be missing something but how is this ignoring team orders? Even if he did let Lewis ahead, was no way Lewis could catch Alonso.

Why must it constantly be George that sacrifices his race for Lewis?

I am beyond annoyed.

Mercedes never asked George to let Lewis by in the first place so why would he move out the way. Yet again George is getting the shit for Merc not making it clear that Alonso had served his 5 second penalty already or not being told Lewis was on faster tyres (although if he was he should've been able to get by George without team orders). He is getting piled on yet again and I'm fucking sick of it tbh

What I ship in Fairy Tail

To be honest, there aren't many.

I'll rehash some of the ships I support that I've mentioned already in case you haven't seen those posts (which I went more in depth here) as well as give some more! I'll also tell you which ones I don't and why.

These are the main ones I like:

Natsu x Lucy

I've said so in other posts, but I do still like NaLu, though it really needs work, from Natsu being less handsy (though most of it's an accident) and for him to mature some and actually show romantic interest in Lucy. Rn, I'm seeing Lucy having to be the one to carry the ship with her budding feelings, but Natsu is mostly oblivious and treats her basically just like a best friend. Mashima should really, if he wants this ship to sail, do these things for Natsu. I only ship Natsu with Lucy.

Jellal x Erza

I said this in another post, yes, I ship this, I really like the childhood sweethearts dynamic, and I think, at least in the main FT storyline (I'm hearing Jellal acts more like juvia in 100yq and that's just barf), it's very healthy and charming because they both try to do what's best for the other and try to better and help them. I only ship Jellal and Erza with each other and in no other ship.

Gray x Lucy

My FT OTP!! Had a whole post dedicated to my reasons! Linked here. I only ship Gray with Lucy OF FRIGGIN COURSE (#protectgray2k22).

Loke/Leo x Lucy

I love this one! Their little arc together, and their fun moments like in the Loke arc or the Fantasia arc or whenever Lucy summons Leo are so cute! Leo’s such a gentleman to her and protects her well, and she doesn’t make it easy for him when he flirts but is still flustered sometimes, which I love. They’re best friends and partners and definitely have chemistry. I only ship Leo with Lucy of course.

Other Ships?

To be honest, that's basically it for me. I'm not really passionate about other ships in FT. I know I ship Lucy with a lot of people, but it's to be expected from a multi-shipper haha. I'll get into the ones I don't like, the ones I'm indifferent to, and the ones I like, but just don't really care about.

Of the rest of the Big Four, I've already said why I'm not a big fan of Gajevy (but I don't ship either of them with anyone else), and y'all KNOW my stance on gr///via (juvia deserves to stay by herself forever :D).

As for Zervis, I don't like Mavis, (sorry, Mavis lovers, I just find her annoying, especially in Fairy Tail Zero) and Idk what to think about Zeref, mainly because I don't see him often, especially since I didn't finish FT, but from what I saw of him, in Tenrou, Zero, and some in Tartaros, he wasn't particularly likable, but not hate-worthy either.

As for Miraxus, I'm not opposed to it. I didn't see many interactions between them tbh, but I could see it being really cute, the sweet (and yet potentially scary) Mirajane and big, gruff Laxus who (eventually) has a heart of gold.

Stingyu, I'm not the biggest fan of Sting, I like him enough, and I'm not really a fan of Yukino either, not because I don't like her, I just found her pretty boring. I don't mind that ship I guess, I just don't ship it personally.

Now onto ships you didn’t give as an example, Anon:

A dear friend of mine mentioned that their OTP for FT used to be StingLu, which I am totally down for, but I haven’t seen many interactions between them. I could see it being a very cute ship though! They’ve got matching hair too haha.

I could see why people like Laxus x Freid, but Freid acts a bit too fanboy for me to ship them (reminds me of juvia too much), though I really liked his loyalty and respect (along with the rest of the Thunder Legion) to Laxus.

Elfman x Evergreen (lol what's their ship name, Elfgreen? Everman?) is ok, I found it pretty cute how they were at odds and then became fond of each other.

Alzack x Bisca, I mean sure, I ship it, I just don't really care about it. Very cute couple, but they’re just background characters haha.

Lyon x juvia, yeaaaah like I said, juvia shouldn’t be inflicted on anybody, so I’d never do Lyon dirty like that.

Ren x Sherry, I don’t really like this ship. A fun fact (not really) about me is that I don’t like it when people who love someone in a show or whatever move on from that love interest to a new one. It just makes it seem so disingenuous to me, like the love was never real. I know irl, this happens a lot, and it doesn’t really discredit their past feelings to move on, but this is a personal preference of mine for fiction. So, I don’t like how Sherry moves on from Lyon to Ren.

Sherria x Wendy, nah don’t like this, I personally don’t like the idea of shipping a 12 and 15 year old together because they’re both really young. I guess it’s fine if you do, since there’s not a big age gap, but nah I’m good.

Happy x Carla, eh, don’t really like this ship, but it’s not too bad I guess. He’s kinda too pushy, and she’s kinda too mean, but overtime they warm up to each other more, like over the Edolas arc for example, so it’s not the worst.

I've already said in other posts that I don't ship Gratsu, and I definitely don't ship NaLi; I just find Lisanna a tad too annoying, and her kid self was waaay too pushy.

Reminder: basically, any ship that involves Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Jellal, and Erza besides the ones I've mentioned is a no-go for me. When I multi-ship one character from a particular anime, I don't multiship for any other character in that anime except for my favorite, so any ships you see listed are the only people I would ship them with.

I don’t really remember other extremely popular ships at this moment, but if anyone thinks of them and mentions them, I’ll give my thoughts!

Closing Notes

I know I don't have many ships, especially outside my multi-ship of Lucy, but really, if you look at other animes that I watch, my multi-shipping habit is even more outta control, so Fairy Tail actually has a bit of variety for me haha. nope! I'm not much of a rereader, tbh. I know i should be rereading faves, and I do try to, but mostly my attention wanders when it's a book I've already read and I just never finish it. Like I tried to reread Alice Oseman's Radio Silence because I was going to do an Osemanverse readathon thing but I just never finsihed it lol (it's fine I'm fine)

12. Any books that disappointed you?

Too many on this list, unfortunately-

• You've Reached Sam by Dustin Thao - I mean. it was a decent enough book. I GUESS? but it just. it was super hyped as this heartbreaking novel that'll leave you in tears and then when I read it it was just. like. eh. you know?

• Loki by Mackenzie Lee - just. really really really annoying. it was fun enough but it was so annoying, I was so disappointed!!! I've read The Gentleman's Guide before (albeit it's been a good number of years) and I remember really enjoying it! And Mackenzie Lee does have the ability to write, like, these really fun but also compelling stories, for sure. But with Loki, I feel like she just. did not decide on a good enough characterization for him. And as a result, the entire book just felt so weird.

• The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X R Pan - I feel like this is the saddest of all. It's definitely a good book, but I just couldn't get into it. I felt like it was all very skin-deep, but that's a very subjective opinion. books about grief are hard to get right, because, for being something of a universal experience, the way people approach grief can be wildly different. and this just wasn't it for me. I was expecting something else, and a lot of the things I had problems with could easily be deliberate choices made by the author to make a certain point...but it just didn't work for me at all! I just did not find myself connecting to the story! I was so sad about it, too! Still am!

17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

• Theft of Sunlight by Intisar Khanani - This one's *technically* a sequel to the author's debut novel, Thorn, but it's also more of a companion novel, really, and the beginning of a new series! I'd read Thorn before I read this, and I liked it just fine but this??? This was INCREDIBLEEEEEEE!!! It's just a super fun YA fantasy set in..like...an Arab-esque world and it's really fast paced and fun and it has like political conspiracy and you know. theiving gangs in the city. and all that good stuff! Like if Alana and Six of Crows got married and then had a child, but like better!

• Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé - They marketed this as a YA Dark Academia novel with influences from The Gossip Girl. I have never watched gossip girl and YA dark academia is always on shaky ground with me but oh my god???? this book??? blew me away! did not expect to get sucked in the way I did! it's a little on-the-nose with the message but. like. that somehow added to the story, if that makes sense??

• Warcross by Marie Lu - Listen. I don't know how (because like the GR avg rating for this book is like a 4.2) but I have this very vivid memory of the entirety of booktube in my subscription box just..not enjoying this book when it came out. So I just. didn't even think I'd wanna read it. and then I read it because I was feeling bored one night and like sir??? hello?? I am never trusting booktube (or my memory of it, at any rate) again!! This book is literally SO FUN! Like. Campy as shit, but so so so entertaining!!? (the sequel is kinda eh tho!)

• Velvet Was The Night by Silvia Moreno-Garcia - I won't even say anything, just. everyone go read this book oh my god. It's like a cheesy action flick but like as a book. same emotions were felt. also a little history lesson, which was kinda interesting!

• She Who Became The Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan - I know I already raved about this book but like. GUYS! GUYSSSSS IT'S SO. SO GOOD! Oof I can't wait for the sequel!!!

I’m so sick of feeling down in this game like every week is something else that I get dragged into and then the one week I’m planning nothing, thinking everything is going smoothly and my number 1 ally goes home after literally being pummeled the whole game. hello everyone i forgot to update yall since the second week so here we go! so we pulled off the plan to evict wyatt and i was so scared that they were going to pick me but i guessed they still love me and that makes me feel bad but urgh.. i just hope they could be able to come back </3 now we're moving to the daisy chain round in which isaac ruined everything after he saved nicole when he should save mario so thats a red flag. anyways, i came up with the plan to save everyone from the greenhouse and pretty people wink wink and i did that so congrats me. anyways, isaac put mario up and i was like maam not mario. no one talked to me about the votes. the alliance with blake, jennet, autumn, nicole, isaac and jarod? i think was made and now blake is upset with me for not telling him everything when i didn't talk about anyone in this vote and i just voted out isaac because i couldn't vote out mario? so white man.... urgh

I want to end up in the Penthouse. Put Kaleigh last, so she gets eliminated, as I don't think her Defender will save her. And then the 4 options left, the 6 who voted together now will just have to vote together again. I want those who are really playing to stay longer, even if they are threats to me. So this week went the way I wanted it to but not without a bunch of complications. So the daisy chain went pretty well I mean we controlled it from beginning to end and I think that we made it obvious enough to where the greenhouse people weren't seen as an immediate target. Then isaac and kaleigh ended up being up for banishment and I was really happy since kaleigh i don't talk to as much and i just voted isaac as well as him being way too chaotic for my liking. When Kaleigh won the uproot though that's when i got nervous because that meant there was gonna be a replacement and of course with my luck it was mario. Now this round changed my outlook on a lot of things because when i was campaigning for mario mario didn't do anything. He wasn't talking to people, he wasn't making bonds, and it's so fucking hard to save someone who won't save themself. There's also the fact that all of sequester voted the exact same way to save isaac which is also suspicious. Granted we in the greenhouse did as well. So this makes me realize that probably sometime soon, i'm gonna have to renege on the greenhouse four because mario clearly isn't gonna help my game much when it's my ass and were gonna be such an obvious target moving forward. Since the vote was 6-4 besides sequester and GH i don't think there's any clear alliances made so depending on who wins power this round i'm gonna have to make the move. the question right now is just how?

I put a lot of effort into winning that penthouse comp so it sucks that I didn't win BUT. If there was anything i trust to put my faith in it's definitely william since we just pulled a big move together so ik he'll at least have my back. I think i have a good chance of surviving this round but i guess we'll see

I AM SO BAD AT CHALLENGES. I reviewed the videos and all the details. But got bogged down with reading Wyatt's question - not the color of the shirt Wyatt is wearing! And just counted the painted art of Jennet, not the total. OH WELL. I have a pretty good relationship with William. I don't think I'll be in the bottom 5. Just depends now on who has the Switch and if it will be used on me. I feel it is with Jarod. Who else would Isaac give it to? Maybe Jarod won't use it on me, I think Jarod would have other targets aside from me at this point. So Greenhouse 4 still here. Mario is ... Mario. Wish Mario were more active. Harder to defend Mario now. I have a good relationship with Lindsay, William, even Kaleigh. Jarod too. Blake we get to talk. Autumn, Nicole and Jennet, I have been reaching out, but they are just so "busy" or maybe I am just not on their priority list. The Greenhouse 4 (well, 3 without Mario), William, Jennet, Lindsay voted together last round. So hopefully if we get to stick together this round, we will be safe too.

I think im probably a pick to go soon, and I really just need to find my footing in order to make a move in this game gr! last week i was at work, but it seems like william and nyx flipped the vote? but i cant be angry about it w/ william even though i AM so i decided just to rant about everybody ELSE to william and i think my whineyness is really working for me, serving nicole franzel, because i think william wants jennet gone which is like- good cause i think shes in the middle of the game.

Nice line up for bottom 5, William. Most voted with him last round except for Nicole and Kaleigh. I think he believes Kaleigh won't be saved and so eliminated first. And then Nicole would be the target. I was surprised Isaac gave Nicole the switch. I thought it would go to Jarod. Maybe Isaac thought that too, so shook things up a little. I don't think Nicole will switch me. I would want the kill used, so we don't worry about it later on. But if mostly Greenhouse is on the bottom (if Nicole switches out with Nyx), then we should use save to mess things up.

Why does it feel like I am the only one making strategic plans with these 3? Am I in the wrong alliance? Maybe I can get us 4 to sure Jury and switch to Nicole, Jarod and Blake. Ugh. Tiring.

I’m so glad I had a literal mental breakdown last week over everything because one thing didn’t go my way. Really embarrassing for me BEBSNSNSK but anyways! Moving on! I’m hoping Kaleigh doesn’t get the boot honestly and it’s a heavy vote, considering I put in a lot of work to get myself to 2nd in the totem poll and had to release a lot of information to William to get here, it would be really unfortunate if I were to somehow end up vulnerable through a twist ! The reason I don’t want Kaleigh gone is because there are 2 other people I would rather go in the bottom (jennet and captain) for flipping. Honestly I’m a vindictive person and LOVE them but, they gotta GO just out of spite truly. I’m really happy with the new alliance of Lindsay myself William and Jarod, and the reason I’m apologizing for being a literal nut job last week is because I made everything about me, I was spiralling because I was having stress with work and everything I think? Who knows? And I really don’t think I’m in as bad of a spot as I thought I was, especially if I can knock out some big players and Isaac or daisy wins the battle back. I AM IN THE JURY FOR SURE! I mean, I want to win, but for sure I am not pre-jury! Now the double vote. It was a waste of the save. Nicole should have just eliminated Kaleigh. Now it means the second round of Penthouse will be an automatic elimination. That would be tough. I know many are looking at Kaleigh and Mario to vote. But if most put votes on Kaleigh, and a few on Mario, could we still swing the second vote off Mario? And onto a bigger threat? Maybe it will help us more farther along in the game. And who doesn't want a group of 4 lasting longer? There might actually be more votes on Mario than Kaleigh, because of the Greenhouse returnees still being complete. Let me think more on this. One of them is surely going home, do you want to save the other for a bigger threat like Jennet or Lindsay? I am cool with Lindsay. Jennet I haven't forgotten being their nominee.

Ok so, with this heavy vote twist this means one of either Jennet, Lindsay, Mario, Captain, or maybe Kaleigh will be up to be voted for. This sucks because those first 4 are close allies. So now i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place because i'm gonna have to let one of them go. so now i have to pick my loyalties. I would like to get Kaleigh and maybe Mario out because then we'd be forced to work with other people in other alliances but I just don't think Xavier would turn on them like that. I just have to find some kind of excuse to pull this off.

So I was going to try and vote someone else out. I mean majority look like they are voting Mario. So the G4 would be voting Kaleigh. If I could just convince Mario to vote someone else, it would be 2-2. But then Blake messages and says that the G4 are voting together, so is there something. So in order to just make sure Kaleigh gets out and not cause extra drama, I am sticking to Kaleigh. Well, it is kinda obvious I guess. I just told Blake I wanted to help us all get to "merge" since we had the worst placements of all coming in the game. I hope that was convincing enough.

So G4 voted for Kaleigh, I knew it if I switched to Jennet then Jennet and Mario would have gone home. But at least it's out in the open. So I think Sequester+Jennet voted for Mario. And Penthouse+Survivor (the others) voted for Jennet. Good to know where Jarod and Blake really stand, even with all their messages to me. The swing votes are the other 4. Gotta make better relationships with William, Lindsay and Nicole. And what's up Blake? Outing the G4 in the group call? When Sequester is the same, good thing Nyx brought it up. Not thrilled about this vote for many reasons. So, William gets power, and he messages me, right?
