I mean come on, a whole scene of Gabriel laughing because Aaron let out a thin scream? A dinner? All the reflective talk? The moments?? I would love to see something like this with Rosita but All I got between her and Gabriel was a conversation where neither was listening to the other and uncomfortable moments.

Unrelated note but I love when Aaron talks about Gracie. He is such a proud father and always thinks so much of his daughter, it's quite normal but it makes me so happy

despite having grown up more often than not facing ridicule and mistreatment due to being openly gay, aaron for the most part did his best to see the good in people. something that some might see as more of a weakness, but it was a big part of aaron's personality and humanity that remained even into the apocalypse.

when the virus broke out, he and his husband eric were evacuated to alexandria. since they worked in the political circuit, wanting to make real changes for good, that's how they came to be some of the first to be evacuated there alongside deanna monroe and her family - and thus how they ended up staying there.

their job was to go out into the world and find others that needed shelter and that could in turn be a part of the community they were growing in alexandria. aaron's ability to see the good in people, see past their offensive or defensive nature is what served him well in this, and is what eventually helped him bring in rick and his people.

the conflict with the saviours was new territory for alexandria, but being there that night when glenn and abraham were brutally killed, and not being afraid to fight for what was right, aaron had faith in rick grimes.

the loss of eric was devastating for him. eric had felt like the one person in the world that understood him fully, and he had loved him unconditionally. so following eric's death, aaron went down a dark path of depression. - the only thing that pulled him out, that was like a light in the dark, was the addition of baby gracie into his life. she seemed to show up, and in need of someone to look after her, right when aaron needed someone or something too. and he made a promise to himself right then and there to protect, raise, and love her like she was his own.

losing his arm on the bridge wasn't exactly an ideal thing, and while traumatic at the time, aaron just believes that he is lucky to still be alive, and has made do as best as he could with the situation he was left in.

after the incidents with jocelyn, and michonne's decision on keeping alexandria more isolated… he understood why, but he didn't necessarily like it. and despite the rules set in place, he still found himself regularly sneaking out of the walls to meet up with jesus to train, someone that he found himself growing closer to.

but what happened in the graveyard that night, watching what they thought was a walker stab jesus, and the fact that for a long while afterwards, he battled with the idea of losing someone again… it took it's toll on aaron. he became a lot less trusting, a lot less willing to take risks, and there was a lot more anger that bubbled away inside of him. it didn't help that for a while, once jesus had woken up, it felt as though he'd still lost him. jesus pushing him away, them having to work through a lot. but admittedly, he did find himself softening a little again when jesus finally opened up to him.

after the whisperers and into commonwealth, aaron's priority was making sure that alexandria was rebuilt, and that his family was safe. jesus recovering and gracie protected. of course, he did end up having to get involved in more conflict when it came to the commonwealth, but it was for what he believed was good and right.

it truly is an impeccable album. his first one (you're a man now, boy) is also class. most recently i've been Obsessed with stick season by noah kahan, mostly bc it's an album about growing up in new england and i can relate to that (and also bc it's very much an album that lines up with my novel). before that, i was listening to this is what it feels like by gracie abrams. an Experience for girls in their early 20s. i fear that's all i've listened to this year, apart from an obscene amount of mcr and pvris
