how to get ombré colored text on tumblr <3

꧞ i get a lot of dms and comments asking about how to change the color of your text to colors that tumblr doesn’t have or to an ombré text. this is how

꧞ sites you can use: the one i use // two // three

꧞ you can use your phone for this, but i prefer using the computer. just go to safari to do it instead of the app if you wanna do it on the phone

one: copy the text you want to color from your tumblr post then paste it into the websites text box

two: change the color of the text to whatever color you want. with the website i use it allows you to pick presets or you can also customize your own then click generate

three: click the “select all” button and copy the code

four: go over to tumblr and click the edit button on your post

five: click the settings button and change the text editor to "html" then find the html section at the top and click on it

six: paste the code from the color fader website in the html where you want it to go (i paste it at the top and just edit it on my phone by holding text down and moving it)

hi girl!! i was wondering how you do gradient text on your posts! i keep looking for tuts but all of them are using features that tumblr removed…. anyways, whenever you’re free, i’d love a tutorial! thank you!🩷🩷

Go to image color picker (this is for the color of your words) and scroll down a little until you see ‘use your image’ and upload the photo to your choice for color theme! Once you’re done with picking your photo, you can choose a color out of the palette and copy it! (Pick two colors for the start and end color for your text!!)

After you copy it, you wanna head over to another website: stuffbydavid (this is where you’re gonna get the gradient style for your text!!) You’re gonna enter your text in the first box, then choose the way you want your gradient like (I usually use horizontal gradient!!)

After that, you’re gonna paste the hex code of your color you picked from the image color picker website and paste your end and start color in the slots. When you’re done with that and feel like it, you can choose your font, size and either have your text bold or italic. Your choice! (I usually just let it be)

After you got your text all ready, you want to scroll down and get the HTML code, NOT THE BBcode cause it will not work. You’re gonna copy the HTML code and there you have your gradient text ready to be pasted!

For this part, i’m gonna put a video for this one, but i’ll still explain it anyway :) So with this part, after you copied your HTML code, you’re gonna open your tumblr account on the website on a browser and go to create or if you have any asks, you can click ‘answer’ and begin the steps. Once you open a inbox or create a new one, you’re gonna click the setting icon (⚙️) on the top right corner and click it! After you do that, you scroll down to text editor and see that it’s set on ‘RICH TEXT’, you’re gonna change it to ‘HTML’ for your code. After you do that, you’re gonna paste your code in the blank spot and then click ‘preview’ and now you have your gradient text!!

6. Next you’re gonna change to ‘post now’ to ‘save as draft’ and exit out of the website to open the app back up and there, you should see the saved draft with your gradient text!!

when editing your post, click on that lil button on the top right corner, which should bring you here

just swap your text editor by clicking on it

to html !!

then your post will look like this. html and preview.

in the html thingy you just have to copy paste the html from your website. i use this one. if you want, i can post a tut for that website too, just tell me :3

depending on how the gradient is and how long it is, it will probably look like this.

and on preview, you're able to see how the html turned out, hope this helped☺️

i use this site

what ur gonna do is

get the html codes for whatever color(s) you want your text to be

put those codes where it says 'value="#FF0000"' and 'value="00FF00"'

the first one is gonna be the first color nd then the second one will be the second

once you put those codes in, ur gonna hit the 'run' button at the top left of the screen

then ur page is gonna refresh and in the bottom right corner, ur gonna see a blank box with your two colors next to it, then a run button and another blank box underneath it

your gonna put whatever text you wish in the top box, and then click run

and in the bottom box some code should show up idk what it is but copy it

then ur gonna come to tumblr

put the exact same first text and then go into the html settings

then ur gonna highlight your text from the html side

and then ur gonna just paste the code that you got from the first site

that was a rlly shitty explanation but lemme give you a pic tut :,)

obvi click on the pic to make it bigger, nd once you have your text i recommend making it bold because then it stands out more

heyy!!! honestly i just found a cute theme on pinterest ( for mine currently i looked for ‘mama mia aesthetic’) and save pics. as far as dividers, i litch search far and wide for ones that fit what i want. for all the gradient text stuff i watched this tiktok that gave me a tut!! i also bolder the words that i feel are completely me! hope this helps and feel free to ask me anything else abt it 💞💞 ( also i wish it was me in my pfp but its sophia birlem. she’s my fav influencer girlie eva! )

Gradient text tut (remake + explained more clearly)

I use this website

I use a phone & I’m on browser so I’m not sure if it’s gonna be the same for other devices

Step 1 : Type in whatever you want! And add the colors, you can click or tap 4 to see more options of how many colors you want, mine is 4 but it might not be the same for you, but I’m not gonna change it

Step 2: After your done, click or tap generate color faded text

Step 3: now your screen should look like this! After that, press select all then copy.

Step 4: go back to tumblr and create a post

step 5: click the gear at the top, then at text editor tap it and click html

Now it should look like this, then press save as draft. And on the right is the final product !!

so basically this tut is from @midiosaamor so creds to her but this is how I do it:

go to this site

enter your text in the box

choose the colors you want (I find hex codes off pinterest)

then generate text and copy the code it gives you

then for this part be on Tumblr web and click the little gear on the top right of the post ur making

go down to text editor and choose HTML (it's default on rich text)

copy the code and then preview the text

then highlight that and make it bold as you usually would text (press the little b after highlighting)

first, yall gon wanna open this website. pick your text + your colors. then, your gonna wanna copy the “html text” on the bottom.

then, go back on tumblr (laptop/desktop recommended) and press on the settings button on the top roght corner.

then, go down till you see text editor and change rich text to HTML.

then copy and paste your text from text colorizer onto the html corner. like this;

and if you did it right, you should get sum like this!

okay so by multicolored titles you mean gradients, yes? so—you have two methods. you can do this on mobile or on tumblr desktop.

the method i’ll show is on the phone / personally it takes longer to do on desktop.

so !!! the app i use to change coloring is stuffbydavid -> after that, you would have to copy the code and insert it, i’ll walk u thru step by step bc it is kinda complicated eheh.

step one — once u open the app, it lays out all the steps. pretty simple! so you wanna start by referring to the first step, typing in your desired title for your fic. i’m using that as an example.

step two — now you can color your words! as u can see, it’s alr automatically set to horizontal gradient. there’s other options u can choose, but personally for my titles i always use the middle gradient for the more multi colored effect :3

( refer to here for the choices! three colored gradient and middle gradient are the best choices for a multi colored effect in my opinion / horizontal gradient is just good for two colors )

step three — after u choose ur desired option, now is time to copy && paste !! do not click the BBcode, u want to copy / paste the second option, otherwise it will not work. and make sure u copy the entire code. top to bottom

step four — now, u wanna log into tumblr via the mobile website on ur phone ( not the app ) u have to do it this way for a reason to paste the code . .

make a new draft then follow these steps.

open ur draft then press the settings icon near the top right

scroll a bit to where it reads Text Editor, click on the button near the right -> now switch it to where it says HTML.

now !!! this is where u paste the code. once u do that, save the draft -> or u can press preview to see how it looks.

this should be the final result !! hopes this helps 💟💟💟
