I'm so sorry, I do like m/f ships but this one in particular doesn't speak to me. Sure, two 10s on opposite ends of the spectrum could work but I think they'd just be too dramatic.

They are like 2 cousins fighting over grandpa's love and attention and fight over which home he should be sent to, except Shadowsan actually cares about the quality of the care but Dokuso just wants to send him to the most expensive home cause they can afford it.

Toxic? Yes. They are both so catty and stiff tho, who's going to make the first move?

Carmen Sandiego goes to Belgium

So i’m from Belgium, and I thought i’d be funny if I wrote some headcanons about Carm and co going to Belgium for a mission. But having to stay three more days, because player bought the wrong plane tickets.

July Blog I occasionally have a social life.

My friends from different states came together to visit for July 4! It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other - probably since before pandemic times. We did the usual, getting takeout at the recommended food spots, going hiking, playing games. We finally had a self care day, which is what everyone desperately needed:

We jumped in a freezing cold river, watched ducks, soaked up the sun. I was born and raised in the sunshine state, meaning I am a creature of the water. Every summer, my fellow Floridians and I long for our hometown beaches. I’ve never considered swimming in the rivers so this was my first time. It was cold, numbingly cold. But the river’s current pushing at my back, being in the open water and surrounded by trees and wildlife with hardly anyone around was definitely a profound experience.

We ended our self-care day with boba tea, face masks and John Wick. Nothing like sharing a relaxing spa time with Keanu Reeves.

Compilation of other things we did. I feel like all we did was eat...

Uhhhhhh......... I have more because I lack self-control.

I can explain... Our local park started hosting a farmer’s market so my roommate and I wanted to check it out. It also has a greenhouse / plant store. Its caretaker is a grandpa whose name is Art. The guy just really loves plants and just wants to keep growing new things.

I first established my relationship with Art when he gave me an offshoot of his super huge and old Christmas cactus. I didn’t have cash on me so he said, “just take it and pay me back the next time you visit.” Two weeks later, I returned to him with the cash.

My cactus is about 3 years old now and he blooms hot pink flowers every Christmas. His name is Kiryu. I have given some of Kiryu’s offspring to my parents and my friends.

Back to the present... Enchanted by the new and exotic additions to the greenhouse, I could not resist. Luckily Art was there, still planting it up. I told him about Kiryu and he was happy to hear that my cactus was doing well. He gave me my plants for pretty much chump change when they can go for $25+. He even repotted them in new pots for me. Art is the best plant grandpa.

And a warm welcome to Raven, the Flamingo Feather Celosia! Hard to kill, easy to please. Disappears every winter, but returns every summer.

Rokurou the Venus Flytrap caught his first fly! Had to take a picture. You’re doing great, sweetie. 🥺

Lorenz is doing ok. He suffered from white fungus thanks to the nighttime showers and lingering humidity. SERIOUSLY, DUDE? Anyway I’m keeping him inside at night for recuperation. I spray his leaves with a soap formula to kill the fungus.

Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex ✦✦✧ What if we lived in a world in which people have cyber-brains and prosthetic bodies? If we are made of machines, then how do we retain our sense of self? The show explores these kinds of questions. Super interesting.

Sk8 ✦✦✧ Soooooo cute but kind of unhinged. Best sports anime in recent times.

Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash ✦✧✧ Finally. Tbh, I was underwhelmed by it, but I know it’s only one piece of a whole series of movies so I’ll still hang on for the rest. The animation was sooooo good though. I do give it props for showing us in detail what happens when you’re a civilian caught below a mobile suit battle. It was terrifying and well done.

Giant Robo OVA ✦✦✧ Animation was really really good. A show about the world’s energy problems and how it was solved in the distant future. Its plot is like a cousin to Cyborg 009.

Carmen Sandiego ✦✦✦ Solid show for kids and adults. We are all in love with Shadowsan (ok maybe it’s just me). Screamed at the ending.

Castlevania ✦✦✧ It was so cute and then it got really freaky in here and then it was cute again.

Demon Slayer (2nd watch for the legendary ENG dub cast) ✦✦✧ Ufotable delivers the most amazing sword fights. I forgot how cute the boys were. Zenitsu’s VA (Aleks Le) was SOOO GOOD even tho he was screaming 70% of the time. I hope his throat is okay honestly. Also really satisfied that Johnny Yong Bosch is Giyu lol.

Angel’s Egg OVA ✦✦✧ It made sense sometimes but most of the time it’s ???????? Kinda freaky imagery. Superb animation.

This Month’s Shower Thought Why did I get into comics?

I never considered myself a comic artist but looking back, I did get serious about it (aka, putting more effort in) when I was in high school. Maybe I watched/read some serious plots and wanted to create some crazy story of my own. The thing with me is that I never had OC’s. I always drew fanart or drew my friends from school and placed them into difficult situations.

In college, after reading Gekkan Shoujou Nozaki-kun I was inspired to do less angsty comics and switch to comedy. I wondered what made me choose to be “funny.” I was not a funny person. In fact, I was quite miserable during that time. It was an escape, perhaps...

What makes people funny? Is it something that is always within you, waiting to be unleashed or is it a social pattern you pick up on?

I was thinking it had to do with self-confidence. At a certain point in my life, the inhibitor switch kinda turned off in my brain and some ridiculous things come out when I’m talking. I didn’t care if it was embarrassing or stupid. Now it’s applied to my comics.

It might even be as simple as, “it makes me chuckle, so I like it. I will keep doing it.”

Information about this AU under the cut:

Both Julia and Carmen are in their late 30's and had Scarlett in their late 20's. After defeating VILE and traveling the world, they decided to settle and start a family. 

Julia quit ACME and works in a museum. Carmen is a fitness instructor who teaches self-defense classes on the side. Scarlett has the same tastes as her moms: Likes books, art, learning, physical activities, etc. 

Although Scarlett is smart and loves to make friends, she's still an awkward middle schooler, but still tries her best. She's very enthusiastic about the things she loves and will share her knowledge about them whenever she has the chance (unapologetically). 

Scarlett is somewhat aware of Carmen's and Julia's past. They give her more information about how they met and the things they did as she grows. Carmen decided she was going to be honest with Scarlett and hide nothing from her. 

As mothers: Both are very nurturing and love to spend time with their daughter. Julia is more strict while Carmen is more lenient but knows when to put her foot down when Scarlett crosses the line (ex. like when Zack and Ivy ruined the mission). 

Julia is more strict in the way that she won't take any shit from Scarlett (she had plenty of practice with Chase lol) but has a trusting and loving relationship with her daughter nonetheless. She doesn't sugarcoat anything but puts in a way Scarlett can understand. 

Julia: No running in the house. Go outside and do that. Carmen: You can run in the house and have an extra cookie just don't break anything ;) 

Other information about Scarlett:

Scarlett is bisexual 

Her full name is Scarlett Rose Sandiego Argent (Yes, her name is freaking pun) 

Height is 4’9 

In early childhood, Scarlett was a nightmare. Just as her mom Carmen when she was a child, she'd run around causing a ruckus. Both Carmen and Julia had to keep a close eye on her so she wouldn't break or ruin something in the house. 

However, they soon realized they could do something about it. Carmen taught Scarlett how to fight, parkour, etc. Julia introduced her to literature and art to keep her mind busy. 

Relationships with the rest of team red: 

 Zack, Ivy, Player, and Gray are her auntie and uncles. Chase is just Mr. Devineaux because she doesn't have a close relationship with him. Shadowsan, on the other hand, is her beloved grandpa who spoils her and gives her good advice. 

I have an alternate AU where Carmen has to leave to lure VILE avengers away from her family, but it's too angsty and I will save it for later, hopefully.

Why I like him?

At first, I didn't. He just seemed like another V.I.L.E leader who had zero sympathy. But after he offered help to the Team I started to like him more, plus it's fun to watch him suffer from Zack and Ivy's shenanigans.

Headcanons:

- Shadowsan really likes hot chocolate. Minty white chocolate one that Zack sometimes makes is his favorite.

- Out of everyone in the team, Ivy was the last person to trust him. He doesn't blame her though.

- He's actually very fond of Dumbass!Sibs besides Carmen, but doesn't want to admit it yet.

- One day, Player had an idea to introduce Shadowsan to Minecraft. Let's just say he may be a bit addicted to this game now...

- Shadowsan also has his "Ultimate Among Us Impostor Screw Up Story": when wandering around, he carelessly killed a person (they were playing online)...right in front of Carmen.

- Though The Crewcan sometimes drive him crazy, Shadowsan wouldn't change it for the world.

Wish:

For him to stand up for the whole Crew by putting himself between them and V.I.L.Ers.

sadly, auntie ivy is the primary disciplinarian. zack has the ability to hand out punishments for bad behavior...but the baby's too cute! yeah they can keep playing in the dishwasher, it's okay. ivy is completely in love with them! she's really proud of zack for continuing to provide for the little one, it's a tough job! so she's here to support him through thick and thin! when the baby arrives, carmen can't help but see a part of her younger self in them. she also takes on an aunt role, giving them what she never had growing up. she consistently ensures the troublemaker knows they're loved and cared for. player thinks they're absolutely adorable!! he's frequently seen entertaining the baby on Facetime calls. (sometimes the little one slaps the keyboard/screen and accidentally ends the call but it's okay Because They're Cute) grandpa. shadowsan. idc argue w the wall. /j. he'll grumble around the baby often when they're still new and tiny. "a place for thievery is no place for children." hm. hypocritical? we don't know yet. he can complain all he wants, he's still teaching them how to read while zack makes dinner for everyone. he's also teaching them some Japanese, shhh! even though the HQ is a great spot to stay, it isn't ideal for raising a child. zack rents a small apartment near the older building instead! he'll bring up how he preferred living in Boston frequently. since there's still vile to stop, there are times when the entire gang won't be available to watch over the kiddo :( much to everyone's dismay. carmen knows exactly what to look for in a nanny, so she'll interrogate interview every candidate. "How far away is the moon?" "Umm, why?" "In case they're curious. Answer the question." zack promises to always make up for lost time, even though he's never gone for too long in the first place yes, he is the father that tells tales. his past, racing, the best food he's had, any and everything! especially baseball! "y'shoulda seen it, bug! outta nowhere, the ball just *zwoop* an' BANG! HOMERUN!!!"

he, without a doubt, picks up the kiddo and celebrates with the imaginary crowd he's softly mimicking the screaming for. once they're older, he brings them to real games and races.

a small part of zack wants the kid's first words to be "dada", it would mean a lot to him since he's terrified if he's doing this 'dad' thing correctly. he doesn't have many memories of a good example :(

matching halloween costumes.

the joy he'll experience when the little one can begin eating solids is indescribable. there's a world of flavor out there!

the baby won't start crawling until a little later since everyone's always carrying them.

zack, without a doubt, absolutely, and entirely, puts on "baby sensory videos" and then proceeds to get distracted by them himself.

honestly, post-season 4, i don't think he'd join acme with the kiddo in his life. there's already lots of regret with having them surrounded inherently with danger while growing up.

zack definitely gets hit on at your games/recitals/concerts/shows. send help /j.

he's a fun and loving dad that'll be there for his child every step of the way!
