Afraid I don’t have any WIPs with grayza at the moment... but since I have quite the soft spot for the ship, and it is grayzaweek... here’s a short drabble with today’s prompt of “string of fate/soulmates” - with the “wounds on one appear on the other” setup because I’m feeling angsty.

Porlyusica sighed as she placed a bandage over Gray’s eye.  “I can find no physical reason your eye suddenly stopped working,” she intoned.  Her normal glower was softened slightly as she continued to dress Gray’s wounds.  It wasn’t the first time the boy had been sent to her with mysterious injuries, but this was probably the worst of them.  “I can run more tests, if you like.  But I given your history... I expect that it’s due to your link with your soulmate.”

Gray’s small fist clenched.  Of course that’s what it was.  That’s what it almost always was.  As long as he could remember, these mysterious wounds had appeared on his body - echoes of what his soulmate was enduring.  They resisted healing, for the original wounds were located elsewhere.  Gray’s body bore scars all over it from a person he had never met.

“You resent them?” Porlyusica asked softly, washing her hands.  When Gray peered at her in confusion, she clarified with a huff, “Your soulmate, boy.  Do you resent them?”

Gray unfurled his hands, and looked down at them.  They were covered in small cuts, and burns he’d gotten from fighting with Natsu.  Wounds that would have undoubtedly transferred to his soulmate.

His soulmate, who was now blind in one eye.

When his vision had suddenly gone dark on one side, it had been terrifying beyond measure.  Almost as much as Deliora had been.  But what did that mean for his soulmate, who was enduring whatever had caused it?

Gray had once overheard Porlyusica and Makarov talking, when they thought he was unconscious from a fresh batch of wounds on his back.  ‘They look like whip wounds,’ they’d said, then.

His fists clenched once more.  “No,” he said, his voice filled with a deadly, icy calm.  “I hate whoever is doing this to them.  My soulmate hasn’t done anything wrong.  And when I...”  Gray swallowed, hard.  “When I find them, I’m going to protect them.  So they never get hurt like this again.  And when I find who did this to them, I’m gonna make them pay.”

The elderly healer regarded her young patient carefully.  That was a dangerous attitude to have, if he wanted to live a long live with his soulmate.  Whoever had done this didn’t care that they were hurting children, and not just the one in front of them.  They were so completely confident that they could get away with it, that they didn’t care about the evidence appearing elsewhere, on someone else who conceivably could get help.

Then she sighed.  Ah, well.  She’d have a talk with Makarov again about the boy’s reckless nature.  Gray was just as bad as Natsu in that regard, only better at keeping it hidden.

“Then let’s discuss some possible options for your eye,” she told him.

Gray nodded.  “Okay.”

“Without the original, there’s no way to tell if this blindness will be permanent or not.  If it is, we could always remove and replace it with a prosthetic...”

Day 7 - Mentor

This isn’t actually a fanfic or anything this is just a thank you to both Gray and Erza for being my mentors in both good ways.  Today is my birthday and I’ve been a fan of GrayZa since I was 10. Now I am 20, Gray showed me that being silent isn’t being weak but it is about letting your heart rest. Erza showed me that your past makes you the person you are today and having that fragile heart is going to take a lot of time to heal. Both of them showed me that friendship can turn into something more. It doesn’t have to be as your lover. It could be closeness or having a mutual understanding. My appreciation to GrayZa has been a great history from my adolescence to my adulthood and I am very thankful that I am a part of it.

Another redraw for today, but I went for cellshading this time to be quicker. I got a small doujin planned for the day after tomorrow, so I might be late on some prompts, but we’ll see. I love drawing little Gray having a crush on Erza.

Day 6: Soulmates

Small world as people would say,  Today was the day I first met you  In a few years ago.  You were 11 and I was 10,  I disliked you once you came in  To join us, thinking that you had motives  But when that day I saw you cry,  I never felt any more bad for you.  Starting that day I vowed to myself,  To never let you cry again.  Yet again as those years passed,  We met our daughter who is from the future  But at that time she was dying and she did lost her life,  I broke my promise. On not letting you cry ever again.  When we buried her along with Crime Sorciere, We let out cries, cries of grief.  And you told me in tears,  “Gray, are we bad parents?” I was struck by the question, not knowing what to answer.  I gave you a comforting embrace,  Silencing ourselves as we cry together.  When The Guild disbanded,  We found each other once again  And talked about our own feelings,  At that moment, we felt the love for each other And made love with just both of us in your house.  I remember back when I was about to start the mission,  You told me, “Gray, I’m pregnant.” I shockingly teared up and hugged you softly,  It made me so happy but worried at the same time.  But anyway, We went through it together.  And our first child, Anaisse was born.  It’s the happiest day of our lives.  And That I will never ever forget.

Day 1: Ocean

Today is a vacation for all of us for a week,  It has been a wonderful time since 7HRICE. You were sitting on the sand taking time to heal  I smiled at you and you smiled back  As we see the others having fun on the Ocean  But then we both said our names at the same time,  ‘Erza’  ‘Gray’   ‘I’m sorry, you could go first,’ I turned away shyly. Then you told me,  ‘Are you having a great time?’  I sighed as I remembered, our activity we used to do Back when we were kids. Playing on the ocean,  Splashing each other,  But I wanted to do something better.  ‘Gray, is there something wrong?’  You asked in a little concern.  ‘It’s nothing.’ I silenced myself and looked down at the sand.  You smiled at me and held my hand as you stood up,  ‘Do you want to go somewhere far from the rest?’  You asked so suddenly.  ‘Sure.’ I smiled genuinely at you as we both ran  to the other side of the Ocean.  We had fun.  Until sunset came and everyone was relaxing.  Still, both of us are swimming into each other’s arms, For a few minutes, we looked at each other in an awkward silence  I pulled you closer,  closer,  closer. You knew what I was going for and you gave in,  Sealing our lips together as the sun continues to set.  And that we had our first kiss while swimming in the ocean.  Natsu, Lucy, Juvia, Jellal and Minako found themselves in a shadow,  A shadow of us together reflecting the sunset.  ‘Seems like They have finally been official.’ The youngest, Minako smiles in relief.  And they all smiled at each other.  They might ask us a lot though.  end - day 1: Ocean
