Personally I always pick Mega Clink, because in the first game the main character is Clink, you know it’s Clink -> Mega Clink. If I were to have an Evoland 3, there should be a point where you’re able to call yourself Super Mega Clink, just to continue the joke

Ah, so we meet Emperor Lothair. I’m still not sure why he’s allowed a talk sprite but Arthus, his Demon counterpart, isn’t. Because spoiler warning, this is the ONLY scene where we see Lothair, he never shows up again. So why doesn’t Arthus have one? Yeah he’s only in one scene but again, so is Lothair. And it’s not like he isn’t important, at the very least he’s important to one of our main characters! Why didn’t you give him a sprite, Shiro Games?!

…*ahem* sorry, I just get heated when talking about that. I’ll probably bring it up again whenever Arthus shows up

But going back to the actual dialogue posted, yeah I’d imagine he’d want to be there, given who this challenger is

He’s pretty important to the Demon cause, how do you NOT know who he is? You had to have met him at some point, right? I mean you weren’t JUST made Emperor

And even if he knows the guy, it’s just that no one told him who exactly the Demon was, why didn’t they? Again, he’s important to the Demon cause, and he has to be known amongst the Empire’s ranks because of it, did no one think to tell the Emperor about who they just captured?? I’d think that’d be pretty important news, plus, you can use him in a hostage/exchange situation! You probably could have ended this war if someone had just told him! Lothair isn’t about mercilessly killing Demons, he wants this war to end “quickly and cleanly” as he puts it

What fascinates me about Chise is that she clearly understands enough about how her situation would come off to people that she obfuscates the truth, but her sense of morality is off-kilter enough that she honestly considers being sold into slavery as “saving her life,” at least enough to reference it in those terms when explaining it to the sister of the man who facilitated the sale. She seems utterly incapable of holding a grudge, and actually likes how her life has turned out since then, given that the alternative she considered before that was literally jumping off a roof.

What I’ve seen of season two so far is largely about Chise coming to terms with the fact that she’s allowed to have agency and desires of her own, something she’d long considered lost to her even before she willingly signed away her rights and turned herself into merchandise to be sold. Her character arc in the first season brought her to the threshold of asserting her own will after suppressing herself for most of her life, but now she has to actually put it into practice, and Lucy is just blunt enough to force her down the rest of that path.

i have a disease called "need to make builds for my favs in whatever ttrpg i can". thankfully with prior favs this was extremely easy due to 5e being piss easy to build in and them having fairly basic skillsets. thank god i have found other ttrpgs to love (please for the love of christ talk to me about lancer its so fucking good) and now the buildcrafting process more fun but more challenging as well. as if this wasnt enough, uh. axl 1. can cast magic at will 2. but is primarily a melee* combatant 3. (not really) 4. has time travel magic.

due to my insanities i am still attempting to build this out. i have accepted i cant just take the fast and easy route via 5e because even WITHOUT the time magic this build is a fucking multiclass monstrosity + his weapon is two-handed and 5e doesnt like it when casters wield those.

but i HAVE discovered its very possible to build him in lancer ;)

Love it when the protagonist/antagonist intentionally chooses to vent to their opposing counterpart. It’s even more interesting and unusual that a protagonist would seek advice from an antagonist when she knows he’s completely unrepentant. (Cartaphilus really is only chipper when talking about murder huh)

And Chise’s corruption arc just keeps chugging along...she’s already got multiple curses, a body count, and an evil mentor at this point
