This goddess and mother of the Asgardians just shows up every week to try and wreck their shit and they just go 'Freya please' and kick her off the sled. Ma'am you're upsetting our dogs.

I was feeling like a bit of slightly-angsty isolation this thursday, so...

AU where, instead of a double transmigration happening, RokSoo transmigrated to ogCale's body, but ogCale was put into a newly made double of his body and confined into a dimension pocket.

And just, no one knows about it and he can't get out until certain conditions are reached. For example: that someone finally gets rid of WS.

Luckily for him, RokSoo and company are rather fast to kill the white star. It only took them two years, way better than in his previous timeline.

Although, those are still two years in which og!Cale, the 40-year-old war soldier turned an 18-year-old time-traveler, had to spend trapped in that place. Completely alone except for the occasional god checking on him, and a few animals a god had the kindness to let for him. (It was Loki, but no one is going to call him out).

Og!Cale is a person who loves easily and deeply but, contrary to his true nature, someone who lived through decades without deep boundaries to gave him feedback. Whether it was during the war that took everyone he knew from him, or before that, with the family he choose to stay at distance and love them from the side-lines. He lived so long without feeling genuine care, making any emotional bond that isn't one-sided, that he's hungry for them.

Being in the past, where everyone he loves hadn't died yet, where they will live, and being so close— just a dimensional door away, really— but not being able to see them, hear them, nor even talk to them... It hurts.

He's happy and so, so glad. They're alive. They can laugh and eat and breath again— and, someday, he will see them again. Even if they don't know how to act with him and is uncomfortable. Even if, most probably, they don't know he's not there and don't miss him, he will see them again.

So, yeah, he's fine with this situation. He accepted this.

That doesn't mean that the waiting doesn't suck. He, a freedom loving person, trapped in the godly version of a safehouse. Most of the days it's only he, his thoughts and the ridiculous massive library Athena managed to fit in here. And his friends, the animals, of course.

Inside of that lonely place, of course, Cale gets attached to the animals that are by his side everyday. He was already an animal lover, to begin with. The little guys who just go through their lives being absolutely adorable and are more loyal than most people around... How can he not love them?

Besides, Athanasia, the griffin, gives the best cuddles he has ever had.

He gets used, eventually. It's not like he never had lived in a big house where the only beings around wouldn't speak more than three words to him. (Well, at least the animals try to talk with him. He just needed to learn what they mean.)

And Cale can do whatever he wants here. If he wants to play the violin or paint, do acrobatics or keep his training, he can just do it. There's no need to hide. No need to restrain himself.

There's no one here to get sad at her memories. No one to spread rumors about 'skills' or 'talents'. No one to turn his interests into weapons against his own family by comparing Bassen to him.

Eventually, it feels like a different kind of freedom here.

—And then he gets out.

lila getting with griffin / g reign and having their little thing in “secret” not only bc it’s what her parents did to each other to get back at the other for slights and arguments but also bc she wanted to not only get back at seven but also to be like “oo look at me i can pull griffin freaking reign i won teehee.” and then the clown catches real feelings for griffin and calls jazz near in tears bc she’s just like her mom 🥀✨🎸🤡 and using someone she loves to get back at someone who she loved may or may not have even loved (i think she did but loved more the idea ? it’s complicated!) but loved the IDEA of seven loving her? dear you know it everyone knows it you want to be loved so bad!!!!!! the sooner you admit that lila the sooner you’ll be much happier my love! so excited to see where things go for her ! and things for her and her beloved g!!!!!

i think its so strange how taz went from seen as like. good/fun dnd content, and then taz graduation happened and it became cringe (as if balance and amnesty arent fully separated from that but thts not the point), and now it just like. doesnt exist in dnd media spheres online. like taz trended after every single new episode of amnesty when it was coming out, and graduation just fucking killed it

Yo I'm sharing this bundle I discovered the other day because 1) its 4 roleplaying games for less than $10, currently all 7 are only ~23 bucks, 2) this website appears to be an alternative to HumbleBundle that focuses solely on TTRPGS, which is cool because 3) what a great way to learn about new TTRPGs! if you're intimidated by the sheer volume of roleplaying games that exist out there this is a great place to start!

but most importantly 5) all of the games in this bundle are what I'd call 'worldbuilding games' which are a really cool subgenre of roleplaying game that I wish more people would take advantage of

in most campaign-style games, you create a story with your friends (or solo), but you have to do a lot of creative work outside of the game to create the map or the towns or the people, etc

in these games though, the whole game is creating the maps or the towns or the people. the games are usually played in one session and when you're finished, you have a cool bit of lore that you can include in your regular campaign game (or, as this bundle encourages, your NaNoWriMo project). its a really fun way to create something that can continue to be useful in other ways

I've finished the Slay the Princess demo and the two main things I'm thinking about are a) the mirror, and how it only appears after you die, taunting you with a chance to look yourself in the face after the decisions you've made, before you go down and see the Princess again and

b) the times that the Narrator says "that's not supposed to happen" - is SHE changing things or am I?? If you know how dangerous she is why are you not prepared for these eventualities? How come most of the time he's matter of fact or mildly incredulous but occasionally gets stopped in his tracks? What happens if things get completely off rails and he doesn't know what to say anymore? What if he stops talking?
