I was reading my Gunvolt tag and I think I watched the OVA for it like straight after I beat game 1 and just apparently never made a post about it. Pretty sure I gave it a 5/10 though, iirc it was visually pretty lacking and doesn't make the game's already pretty weak story any better.

Azure Striker Gunvolt Anime Worldwide Launch Date Announced

Inti Creates has announced that the worldwide release date for Azure Striker Gunvolt: The Anime will be on February 9.  Earlier it was announced that the series would launch last Winter season, however it was delayed.  The series will be available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop for the price of $2.99.

Inti Creates also provided a Dub trailer for the series on their official Youtube channel.

Opinion On The Gunvolt Anime

Wow the Gunvolt anime was PAINFUL to watch! Seriously, almost all the voices were terrible. It was like most of the actors did one take and was done. Fandubs for this game sound better! This was the only time I got legit angry at a dub! Some scenes didn’t even make sense. Like how is Lumin a popular stage singer, when in the game I’m pretty sure she was a Sumeragi secret that was being tested on. Not an icon on the same level as Hatsume Miku. Copen only had ONE SCENE that lasted a whole 10 SECONDS! Why even have him in then?! It made little to no sense in the OVA! Also, the animation was slow, like REALLY SLOW at parts. Especially during fights! I don’t mean to be mean. But I’ve seen allot of anime and great english VA’s, both pro and freelance and this felt like missed potential. Why not just dub the first boss area of the game like with the MegaMan X anime? I feel like this could have been amazing if Inti had the money to do so, since the opening was probably the best part! But they are an extremely small company so we’re lucky to even get this. If you liked it, good for you. This isn’t an attack on you. But as a fan, I was disappointed and I have a right to be. >:(

"Azure Striker Gunvolt: The Anime" Launches Worldwide on February 9

Back in December, Inti Creates announced a delay that pushed the Azure Striker Gunvolt OVA back to January 2017. While it missed the mark, it only whiffed it by a week or so, because Azure Striker Gunvolt: The Anime is officially set for a worldwide debut on February 9. The LandQ Studios/Tohokushinsha Film Corporation production will be available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop for $2.99.
