Andy Taylor & Robert Plant - Stairway to Heaven (October 2023)
This was just posted a day ago, and is apparently from a benefit for Andy Taylor of Duran Duran fame, who is battling cancer.
This was recorded October 21st 2023 at the Soho Farm House with the great Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Andy Taylor of Duran Duran, Andrew James Taylor, David Palmer, Dino Jelusick, Guy Pratt (who has played with Pink Floyd in later years) Goldray and Anne Rani
This needs many more views.
Enjoy!

“Venice is spectacularly beautiful, of course, but it doesn’t actually have a big enough venue for a band like Pink Floyd to play in. So to get round this they got hold of a North Sea oil rig, built the stage on top of it, sailed it up the Grand Canal flying the Jolly Roger, and moored it opposite the Piazza San Marco.”
—Guy Pratt, Bassist of Pink Floyd
Venice’s Grand Canal on July 15, 1989

10.12.22  Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets project is devoted to performing ealry Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd material. I caught the show at the Beacon Theater in NYC. The band includes Guy Pratt (bass/vocals) and Gary Kemp (guitar/vocals), and those two also make a hugely entertaining podcast called Rockonteurs

Once, in Hanover, having been on the road for months, I just couldn't face the heaving mass of clothes, books, CDs and other rubbish piled up in my room, so I went down to the bar and offered anyone in the assembled party $200 to pack my cases. I think Rick offered to take me up on it, but I could hardly accept from him…

GTR Co-founder and Session Bassist Phil Spalding Dies at 65
- Credits include Mick Jagger, Mike Oldfield, Elton John and others
Bassist Phil Spalding, who was a co-founding member of GTR and whose studio credits include everyone from Elton John to Right Said Fred, died Feb. 5 at age 65.
No cause was given, though Spalding had been living with hepatitis C.
The bassist co-founded GTR with Steve Howe and Steve Hackett in 1985 and made one album with the group. Hackett remembered his former bandmate as “a lovely guy and a great bass player.”
Guy Pratt, who toured with his fellow bassist when Spalding was playing with Mike Oldfield and Pratt was with Icehouse, called Spalding “a brilliant player and a wonderful, irrepressible character.”
Spalding’s studio credits include stints with Toyah Willcox, who called him “one of the greatest bass players and performers of all time,” and Right Said Fred, who were “extremely saddened” by the news.
The bassist also worked with Mick Jagger, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and the Who during its acoustic shows in 2020.
“Very sad, indeed, to hear of the passing of Phil Spalding,” Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey said in a statement. “… Our sincere condolences to his family at this very sad time.”
