Hi! Could we possibly get some headcanons of being an adopted child of Katy, please? Thank you!!

MY FAVORITE TROPE YESSSSS. Katy time! I am always happy to do characters who don’t have a lot of content on them. Um. I got VERY carried away with this one.

CW: Mentioned past parental death and mourning.

Being Katy’s Adopted Child

- Katy has so many Gym Challengers, names often slip her mind. It's not her fault, there's a near-constant revolving door of trainers. You, however, she recognizes in an instant. Your prowess in battle is hard to forget, especially at such a young age. Katy will never get tired of being surprised by Paldea’s youth. It’s odd. Instead of vigor lighting up your face, you're picking away at the front of your shirt, expression pinched and melancholic. Though she supposes that may be how you usually appear. She hasn’t known you for long, after all, only that one battle, it still worries her. Children should be off enjoying their day, not kicking rocks along the streets of Cortondo.

- While Katy's normally busy baking, this is far more important. Plucking a fresh croissant from a tray, she greets you with a kind smile. “Is everything alright?”

- You return her smile with one of your own, though its effect is lessened by how watery your eyes are. She sweeps you towards one of the outdoor tables and waits patiently as you nibble on your croissant. As much as she’d like to know what’s wrong, the last thing she wants to do is push you. So, she will sit here as long as you need, periodically bringing you some more pastries. Even if you never get the courage to speak, the least she can do is keep you well-fed.

- Finally, you tell her what’s wrong. It’s simple as it is heartbreaking. You miss home. Your parents have been dead for two years, and while the wound is healed, it hasn't stopped hurting. Clavell has been kind enough to waive your tuition. Your grades are exemplary, and it would be a mistake to lose such a wonderful student for something entirely out of their control. You have friends, you have food, and you have a roof over your head but it’s not home. And you’re scared it never will be. What if that feeling of comfort, of unconditional love, died along with your parents? How do you mourn something like that? There is no grave to visit, no words of comfort to be given. Just a gash on your heart that might never stop bleeding.

- You’re not quite as eloquent as you tell Katy. Your words are jumbled and choppy, but she can hear the tremor in your voice. Her heart shatters when your voice breaks as you dissolve into incoherent sobs. Carefully, she places a hand on your back, rubbing soothing circles between your shoulder blades. The action only makes you cry harder, and she almost jerks back before you choke out a feeble thank you.

- There isn’t much she can do. Though Katy may be a stranger who wants to help, she’s a stranger all the same. Her bakery is a safe space for her. It’s always been a place she can truly be herself. Humming tunes under her breath as she bakes and bakes until she can’t anymore. She doesn’t know what she would do if she lost that. So, Katy offers to share that with you. If there is ever a time you need anything, you are always welcome to come to find her. She will be there to listen, to give advice, and to keep you fed; her door is always open to you.

- You take her up on the offer. Over the next few months, you find yourself on Katy’s doorstep more often than not. She teaches you how to bake, her advice is unmatched, and she helps you with your homework with a smile. Katy reminds you of your mom. Sometimes too much and you can feel your chest ache. As time passes, the ache lessens into a warmth you almost forgot. Katy’s guest room gets filled up with your things: Awards you won for academic achievements, your gym badges, even your stuffed animals. It doesn’t happen on purpose, you never meant to spend more time here than in your dorm, but here you are, and you couldn’t be happier. Eventually, Katy sits you down and asks if you would like her to be your legal guardian. You don’t have to call her mom, though you’re welcome to if you like, she wants you to know that this is permanent. She won't be going away anytime soon.

- It’s finally official. Katy is your legal guardian and normal doesn’t feel so out of reach anymore. Her guest room has become your room, and with a smile, you place your final possession on your bedside table. Your parents smile back at you. They’d be happy that you’re not alone anymore, you feel it in your bones.

Some father-son hcs for Giacomo and Larry!

Larry was roughly 30 when Giacomo was born. (Larry is 46 now!)

Hes very serious when he says it was the happiest day of his life. He was nearly late because he was at work when he got the call, but luckily he got there in time.

But when he finally got to hold Giacomo in his arms, he was so happy! He didn't feel overworked or sleep deprived for once. He was giddy. Hed been waiting so long to meet him after being told he was going to be a dad. He felt like he actually had a reason to work so hard and so much.

When he and his wife divorced, it was mutual but still pretty rocky. Giacomo was about 5 when it happened. He remembers just being confused and wondering why he was visiting his grandparents so often until suddenly his dad is moving out without them and his mom is selling the house and moving into an apartment.

When Larry started dating again, Giacomo didnt know how to feel. And like any confused 7 year old, he kind of took it out on the woman his dad was seeing— Katy.

He was never really mean or did anything mean, its more like he always chose to ignore her when she'd try talking to him. Happened more often when Giacomo found out Larry and Katy had been dating for several months before introducing Katy to him! He felt like Larry was lying to him when he brought her over for dinner! His little kid brain just assumed they just met that exact day lmao

He mainly acted this way, though, because he thought his mom was gonna leave if Larry and Katy got married 😭

When his mom finally explained to him that nothings gonna happen to her and she'll be his mom forever and Katy wasn't planning anything, he settled down. Still was weary of Katy, but at least he was more open to her like telling her his interests for example.

Now, Gia and Katy are on good terms of course. He was the ring bearer for their wedding and he was super serious about his job!

Larry and Giacomo used to be much closer than they are now. Giacomo used to be so excited about his summer weekends with his dad, but for the past couple summers, Giacomo's been distant and recently has been holing himself up at his base.

Larry did try to speaking to him about going back to school and getting serious about his education, especially if he wished to go to college like he planned, but Giacomo wasnt having any of it. Even brought up the fact that hes not home often enough to even know whats going on so maybe he should "back off". But Gia never made the effort to let either of his parents know what was going on in the first place.

Things are... Not better, but at least Gia doesn't get upset or yell at his parents anymore. Since dealing with his bullies, his attitude has improved.

When Larry did learn about the bullying, he was not happy. Especially when no one from the old staff told him until recently when Gia came out about himself.

Larry's idea of having fun outtings with Gia are taking him out to eat and taking him to work 💀

He doesn't get Gia's interests, but tries his best to encourage them if they make him happy.

Larry prides himself on not raising a spoiled child. He taught Gia, from a young age, to ALWAYS work hard for his money. He never once spoiled Gia and always assigned him chores in order to earn his allowance. And once he started Pokémon training and earning money through battles, Larry sat Gia down so he could properly learn how to save and budget money.

He was realistic with him that working in the real world wasn't going to be great, even if you've gotten your dream job. There's always set backs and you have to learn to live with them. Sometimes you may have to choose between work and making a living or your desires. And Gia has kept these lessons in mind.

Larry honestly misses the days when Gia was so small. During his paternity leave, Larry spent so much time bonding with Gia before he got busy with work again. He'd sit in the chair in his nursery, holding Giacomo to his chest so he'd hear his heartbeat, copying exactly how Gia's mom held him.

The first time Gia got sick it was an ear infection. He was crying for hours non stop with a fever and even threw up a few times. While his mom was freaking out and worried because the fever wasn't getting any better after two days even with medicine, Larry sat there calling his mom for her "miracle remedy". He too had frequent bad ear infections as a child and already figured Gia might too. His mom advised him what to do to ease the discomfort and keep him calm and he immediately set out to get the things. It was just a stuffed animal he could put a rice heat pack in and put to his ear(s) for a few minutes. At times like these Larry would stay up all night if he had to to help Gia with the pain.

Unfortunately, these ear infections didnt become less common as Gia grew up like Larry's did by age 8. He still gets them now, but antibiotics respond well and fast enough. His mom refuses surgery like doctors suggest, but Larry would honestly prefer it if it meant Gia could stop taking the antibiotics so much.

Larry loves his son. He loves him no matter what. He grew up without his father in his life 90% of the time and is determined to make sure he doesn't do the same to Gia. Its hard to do with his work schedule and all, but hes in Gia's life way more than his own father was his.

Larry has tried playing the video games Giacomo likes, and he got motion sick. Very motion sick. And Gia brings this up constantly.

No, Larry does not make dad jokes. He cannot stand them. Giacomo, to annoy his father, makes the dad jokes instead. But you won't catch him doing it around his friends. Yeah he'd rather die.

Tarountula Line Headcanons

Though the thread on their back is a defense mechanism, Scyther do still regularly eat Tarountula after flipping them over.

Tarountula rarely sleep, and they are weirded out by the fact that their trainers need so much of it. Are they not afraid?!?

In contrast, the hypervigilance of a Tarountula transforms into the overprotectiveness of a Spidops if not kept in check. They will guard their trainers from literally anyone that is considered an 'intruder' at inappropriate times.

Phone cases with Tarountula on it have become a bit popular among younger Rotom Phone owners because of their cutesy 'mustaches' and eyes.

It's sadly not uncommon for a Spidops to elicit aranchophobia responses in people where it didn't before as a Tarountula. Some of them need to be rehomed as a result of this.

Katy's popularity while loving 'creepy' Pokémon like Spidops has allowed for a sort of renaissance with the line, mainly because some find it cute how such a Pokémon likes her pastries

Can I get some headcanons for Katy on a first date pls

Gosh I love Katy so much yes!! I hope you like these I'm a little rusty with HCing :)

She would definitely bring along some sweet treats or ask you to come to the bakery at the end of the date to make you something fresh.

She would be just on time or a little bit late, having gotten caught up at the bakery and lost track of time doing what she loves most. It would probably be easier for you to show up to the bakery instead of meeting up.

She would love to do something where you both had your pokemon involved. She loves her little sugarbugs and it would be important to her that you get along with them.

She loves physical affection, so even on the first date she would want to hold your hand and sit up against you if she was feeling comfortable.

This might sound weird but Katy becoming something as a parental/Big sister figure to Giacomo post-canon.

Katy heard about everything that had went on with Team Star. Giacomo’s base hadn’t been too far from Cortondo; he’d even occasionally been by with a few of his friends.

She reached out to him and wanted to let him know that she’d always have an ear open to listen if he wanted to talk, or just wanted something to do- that being either baking or training with her.

Giacomo wasn’t really open to that at first, but he did still stop by from time to time. And one day, when she was a little understaffed at her patisserie, he offered to help out.

From then on, Katy made sure he was doing alright, that everything was going well with his friends and school. She knew how stressful school could be, and how easy it was to want to quit.

Giacomo never really said it outright, but he actually liked being looked after like that. Katy was kind of like an older sister to him. He never had siblings, so that was something new, something he was surprised he liked.

Katy has a young daughter and is a single mom. Her own parents cut contact with her when she found out she was pregnant but didn't want to get back together with/marry her ex. Kofu and his wife stepped up to help her out after this, and became her daughter's surrogate grandparents

I've got ScarVi brainrot so here's a list of headcanons that live rent free: (a lot of it is Larry and Giacomo based (my beloveds) )

Nemona is autistic

Penny is trans (mtf)

Arven has dsylexia (formed off of that one moment at the end where he forgets the name of something, paired with his apparent bad grades)

Arven's mother/father (Vi or Scar dependent) 'died' when he was young - they got caught up in their studies and the time machine went all fucky and POOF no more parent. Back then the technology wasn't advanced enough to make an AI version ((for example, I played Scarlet, so this headcannon applies to Turo getting sucked into the future, make sense?)) Arven was only young when this happened

Larry is Asexual Biromantic (fight me)

Giacomo lives with Larry- his uncle.

Giacomo is actually Unovian - his mother was from there (his father was Paldaen), and he grew up there. Something happened to his parents (they died??) and he moved to Paldea to stay with his uncle. This was all about 3 years before the story of ScarVi. ((this entire headcannon changes location if we get an Italy region because i said so))

Larry smokes; he almost always refuses to smoke at work, whether is his salary job, his gym work or at the Elite Four Tower - the one time he smoked at work was at the Elite Four Tower, ( it was a hard day) and he almost instantly got caught by Hassel

For as emotional and as sweet as he is, Hassel is the most passive agressive man alive; case and point - he will bring up Larry's smoking any chance they're alone, hoping to subtly annoy him into quitting ( this does not work)

Giacomo and Arven become good friends once Giacomo starts going to school more often (Arven has a Mabosschiff, you know Giacomo is gonna be all over that)

Giacomo has ADHD (chaotic music child my beloved)

Atticus is Autistic ( BECAUSE JUST LOOK AT HIM)

The Gym Leaders in order of age are: Larry/Brassius, Ryme, Kofu, Tulip, Katy, Iono and then Grusha (who's in his early 20's)

In terms of including the Elite Four: Hassle is the absolute oldest, Rika is a bit older than Grusha, and Poppy is obviously the youngest. Geeta falls between Kofu and Tulip.

Geeta absolutely drags everyone away on a fully funded week-long vacay every year - that one random episode of Brooklyn 99 style

Larry is just as bright and interesting as the rest of his coworkers, he's just awkward about it.

What are romantic and/or platonic hugs from gym leader and elite 4 like? Every one of them deserves hugs!

Ohhh okay, this one is like. Mega short. But it was fun to do! You’re sooo right they all are in desperate need of hugs.

Hugs From Elite Four And Gym Leaders

Katy

- Incredibly soft and warm. She’ll rock back and forth, humming contentedly while she hugs you. When she pulls back, the front of your shirt will be covered in flour. Katy giggles in response.

Brassius

- Unfortunately, no matter how much effort Brassius puts into his hugs, they’re always awkward and bony. He’s more likely to wrap and arm around your shoulder and hold you against him rather than give you a hug.

Kofu

- Picks you up and spins you. He smells very savory from all the food he cooks, so hugs from Kofu never fail to make you hungry. His hugs tend to be very tight as well. Firm and grounding.

Larry

- Another awkward hugger, though he’s on the softer side. If you’re not super close with him, he’ll pat you on the back a few times before pulling away. With his partner, it’d take the jaws of life to pry him off you. Sweats a lot.

Ryme

- Her hugs are strong and firm, though she’s another side hugger. Ryme likes to squeeze you close to her and press a kiss to your temple.

Tulip

- She likes to cup your face. It’s her favorite mode of affection. Even when she’s holding you close, her hand is gently caressing your cheek. Will sometimes lean down to give you a butterfly kiss. She thinks it’s cute.

Grusha

- He doesn’t hug often, but when he does it’s warm and intimate. Grusha will press his forehead to yours and hold you for as long as possible.

Rika

- Isn’t particularly fond of hugs. The best you’ll get out of her is knocking your shoulder against hers as she gives you two strong thumps on your back.

Hassel

- One of, if not the best hugger on this list. The easiest way to describe a hug from Hassel is comforting. He’s sturdy and will hold you as long as possible. Hassel also emits a lot of heat, so you’ll eventually have to let go or you’ll start sweating on him.

AHHHHH!!!!! 😭💞💞💞💞💞 I’m sorry this is the only thing I took away from the new Pokemon trailer 🧍 It’s so cool that the staff and gym leaders (+ Elite Four) can interact like this!! The environments are so cute too! Katy and Saguaro chatting with each other is so cute, I feel like my headcanons are coming true haha. And Kofu and Larry!!! These match ups they did for the trailer are so perfect. If we can truly make any pair of characters interact with each other, Well. I will be forever be insufferable about PlainDonut \(//∇//)\ And this also means more Larry and Saguaro dialogue in general, and I know I’ll cry if Larry has a storyline with Poppy.

Giacomo being autistic but Larry not understanding where the autism came from because CLEARLY he's not autistic this is NORMAL child behavior he did it too like how he organized his blocks by color as a kid for fun and threw tantrums when the seams of his socks touched his toes and demanded the same dish each night but would refuse to eat if his nuggets even touch ONE SINGLE GRAIN OF RICE because the ENTIRE thing was now RUINED. Yeah thats normal stuff, totally not autism if he, the child's father, did it too. Is that how genetics work? Whatever. He failed biology.

Some headcanons about (mostly) Gym Leaders

• Iono annoys the other Paldea Gym Leaders (apart from Kofu), especially Larry and Grusha

• Kofu loves to give others hugs, but doesn’t seem to know how tight the other person/people can manage and tends to hug them too tight. His student Katy is the most common receiver of these Bewear-like hugs

• Others tend to describe Grusha’s attitude as “pessimistic” but he insists that his attitude is “realistic”. Ryme often worries about Grusha’s sour attitude making others pessimistic. It’s likely that Grusha’s attitude is a common cause of challengers dropping out of the league challenge

• You know that scene in Little Witch Academia where Akko calls Diana her rival and Diana responds with something along the lines of “I never once considered you my rival, Akko”? This quote is basically a large part of Ryme and Grusha’s dynamic, with Ryme being Akko and Grusha being Diana

• Given Kalos and Paldea border each other (this was written before DLC was confirmed in case this statement ages badly) and over half of the Paldea Gym Leaders share a type with a Kalos Gym Leader (Viola and Katy, Ramos and Brassius, Clemont and Iono, Olympia and Tulip, Wulfric and Grusha), I want to go over the dynamics in those pairs (genuinely when I started to write this paragraph I thought only four types were shared but I think I very briefly forgot about Olympia and Tulip). Viola and Katy idolise each other and Katy really wants Viola to be the one to advertise her bakery, Ramos and Brassius occasionally get together so Ramos can give Brassius more Sunflora because of how popular they are in Artazon, Clemont and Iono don’t talk much because Clemont finds it very awkward to talk to someone that hyper (despite Bonnie also getting overexcited easily) and Iono tends to find it easier to talk to Korrina and Valerie, Tulip admires Olympia but like with everyone she wants to make her even more beautiful and Olympia knows this (sometimes she will dress up in something more beautiful when she realises she’s about to see Tulip, just to out-beauty her), Wulfric respects Grusha’s skills and bonds with Pokémon but like Ryme doesn’t like Grusha’s attitude

• Bonus: Clavell’s voice is similar to (if not the same as) Wesley’s from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (this is the kind of headcanon you can make when there are no voice actors)
