the funniest thing about the Heterosexual Eddie thing is that even if you put everything else aside. like, you know. the fact that buck was technically by their logic "canonically" heterosexual for six seasons, the fact that queer-coding is a very real thing that has existed in media for approximately a fucking century (not even hyperbole. like, actually approximately a fucking century) and that eddie is, well. extremely queer-coded, and the fact that many of the people now bizarrely deciding that canon queer is the only accepted and correct type of queer are people who originally headcanoned him as queer. like, even if you put all of that aside, the best they could do to prove that heterosexual is how eddie should and is intended to be read (to queer people no less) is *check notes* a twenty second video edit. I like the different interpretations of Tallulah’s hair color people have been sending me.

Her hair didn’t turn black JUST bc of q!Missa. It turned black because it’s the color of the wither roses her papa likes, it turned black because it matches the feathers on the back of q!Phil’s wings, her hair turned black because it’s the same shade as the crows that flock their home. Tallulah’s hair turned black because death is very much a part of her every day life. It turned black because she *likes* it. Tallulah’s hair is black because it resembles her whole life and the people she loves.

I like to refrain from attributing certain things about Tallulah solely to one person because people just end up turning her into an extension of others. Especially when people attribute certain features of hers to someone she hasn’t talked to in months and she has never seen as a father.

They already did it to her once before, and I’d hate to see it be done to her again. She’s more than that. She always has been.

Tallulah’s journey with self discovery and finding her place in the world has been a rollercoaster to watch unfold. She’s gone through so much to prove herself, she’s fought hard to show the world who she is and who she isn’t. She’s gotten lost in promises and old memories. Tallulah has struggled with her identity as it has always been heavily tied to family, and family on the island is important and complicated.

She’s come to a place where she finally feels comfortable. She finally feels like she belongs in this family and now she can continue that path of self discovery. Because there’s no greater feeling than that freedom of being able to decide who you are. Of being in such a comfortable spot in which she can explore different ways to express herself.

I don’t think this necessarily has been a HUGE issue, but it’s definitely one that has been in the foreground for a while and an added effect of her struggles in finding a place on the island. Because finding that place is also a part of WHO she is, it’s part of her identity.

I remember her getting upset that she was seen as an extension of him for months. It was all anybody would ever bring up around her. She was the egg that was left behind, she was the egg that didn’t have a father. She was the egg that was abandoned again and again. And it was hard trying to combat that, bc how do you work around something that is genuinely affecting you to your core? Something that felt so defining in your life?

Well I think she’s come far in showing that she’s more than that. That she’s not just the sad traumatized egg that was abandoned. She’s grown a lot, she’s found a new place. There’s still sore spots sure. She didn’t like being called the “trauma egg” because again, it’s something she’s been trying to move past from. She’s more than just her trauma, she’s more than the people and the things that have hurt her.

I think that yes her past is important, everything she’s gone through has molded her into the egg that she is. But she’s not just her past. Her past doesn’t control her, not like it used to at least. It’s important that she’s reinventing herself in a way. Because she’s changed a lot, but she’s still Tallulah. Not the same one we saw at the start, but it’s still her. And at this point in time she’s more herself than she ever has been.

actually i’m not done with the poseidon stuff. i love all the changes they made and i love all the stuff they kept exactly the same. there’s a fourteen years old me somewhere in the past that is violently sobbing because she finally heard poseidon say the sea does not like to be restrained. there’s the child of divorce in me that is still reeling from last week’s episode with poseidon coming in a heartbeat when sally calls for him. there’s the little hopeful kid in me that is so thankful to the writers for changing the game so that percy missed the solstice deadline and poseidon showed up in a split second to save him, even if it meant surrendering and losing the war to his brother. and there is present me, who just heard poseidon ask his son if his mother taught him greek with that bewildered but actually more than knowing look, because of course sally jackson taught percy ancient greek. there is present me who heard a week ago that poseidon would be by his son’s side when the time came, and he finally was, not just in the fight with ares, because that was actually all percy, that was his powers and his wit. no he was by his side when percy insulted the god of the skies and nearly got himself blasted out of existence, and poseidon came right away just as he did for sally. and when percy finally asked his question, not even knowing how little it took for poseidon to show up in a cafe as soon as sally called all those years ago, poseidon looked at him with the pain of a lifetime spent apart, because how could he ever not dream about sally jackson?

Has anyone ever thought how weird minecraft HDWGH speedrun setups are?

Like, there's no neatly placed series of dispensers tipping over splash potions perfectly onto the player, or sealed enclosures of arguably dangerous mobs (like the elder guardian or shulker). There's no carefully placed conduit fully submerged in large pools of water, no optimally placed beacon at bedrock level, nor meticulously organised setup of water channels and trapdoors.

Instead, we get shattered glass shards everywhere, a dolphin flown hundreds of blocks over via a fragile lead, a conduit with just BARELY enough water to function, and a beacon just sitting out in the open. Some explosives might still be on the ground, our shulker just sitting in a boat, exposed to all the elements, and the player probably has some level of injuries from jabbing spectral arrows straight into themselves. All of that mess and you'ld still find bees at most 10 blocks away, peacefully minding their own business, unaffected by the alchemy happening not too far off.

But it works, and I can't say nothing more.
