okay visualize a scene with me. Karasuno gymnasium. monday morning, bright and early. Suga is telling a story about the day he and Daichi had spent together over the weekend to the team. Tanaka gives him a wink-wink nudge-nudge - "its so obvious you like him, you smile every time you say his name!" Suga, of course, is very defensive. "No I dont! you just have to move your mouth like that for the syllables!!" the team disagrees. No, they say. No I'm pretty sure that's not true. So they start testing it. "daichi" "daichi" daichi". its about now that Daichi arrives at the gymnasium. specifically, he arrives to his entire team completely emotionlessly chanting his name in a circle around Suga. "why?" he asks, after an appropriately long time of staring in bafflement. Surely there will be a sane explanation for this? "nobody is smiling when they say your name!" hinata shouts. this does not make the situation better.

Radiant like the Golden Sun

There is something about him that makes me shiver. Not in a way that you’d identify as fear, but in a way in which his touch feels warm like home, his gaze as soft as a feather, his words as loving and gentle as could ever be, and his embrace as safe as a fortress you’d run to when need be.

And right now, as we walk along the shore, waves rippling by our feet and sun setting in the horizon, countless thoughts swarm around my head as my eyes stray from the beach to him. His freckled skin is glowing a beautiful warm gold, auburn hair shining brighter under the setting sun. He chuckles at a thought, the action showing his dimples and oh I find my self entranced all over again.

I form words in my mind, trying to tell him what I want, trying to tell him how in love I am, but I fail miserably, simply too entranced with the radiant man in front of me and I say, “oh,”

He looks, laughing lightly at what I can only assume my dumbfounded expression, “what?”

And again I fall, deeply in love. Suddenly the world was quiet, the only thing i could hear was the soft crashing of waves behind us. And it seems that the sun envies his beauty because it hits his deep brown eyes so harshly, but it’d only made him look more glorious and I inhale deeply, taking in hin radiance. I mutter, voice barely above a whisper, “how beautiful”.

I know it isn’t really how they act in canon but it’s how they are in my heart… They would also think it was very funny to unveil their anniversary cake and just have a big picture of Asahi on the top.

daichi and suga are both self sacrificing but in opposite directions

daichi will give 180% of his energy into something or someone to the point past exhaustion to make his or someone else's dreams work.

sugawara will let others go before him, step back, remove himself entirely from the equation, just to give someone else a slightly better chance

together, their superpower is balancing each other out and being 1 normal person capable of giving a solid 80-110% with a healthy relationship to their ambitions.

Bokuto kuroo and tsukishima live by the phrase “happy wife happy life” which is why their relationships r fully functioning. Oikawa kageyama and suga live by the phrase “fuck you im right” which is why their relationships fall apart every 3 days.

despite the fact that it’s like 2014 in japan during haikyuu i choose to believe that the volleyball teams just. don’t process homophobia. kageyama is too busy thinking about volleyball (and by extension hinata) to worry about sexuality at all and one time he walked in on two girls from his class kissing by the vending machine and they started freaking out and he was like “???? I just want some milk.” hinata is also mostly too focused on volleyball for sexuality like he processes that he likes girls because girls are pretty and make his heart beat faster but also he’s definitely had weird crushes on the tiny giant and bokuto and some other players (kageyama) he just hasn’t registered it yet. tsukishima knows he’s gay (yamaguchi) and considers it beneath him to be mean to someone for their sexuality, that’s just cheap, there are better things you can make fun of someone for. yamaguchi agrees with him by association and also because he doesn’t know WHAT he feels for tsukishima but it’s not platonic and he freaks out about it a little bit but not because tsukishima’s a guy, but because he’s so cool and could date someone better. tanaka and nishinoya are aggressively heterosexual (for the most part. nishinoya and asahi) but are very homoerotic with one another in their aggressive heterosexuality and everybody’s just gotten used to it. asahi is an enormous scary looking grown ass man who has the personality of a baby deer which is already strange so they just shrug and accept it when nishinoya is basically his protector at all times. daichi and sugawara are basically a married couple already by the fact that being captain and vice captain of karasuno is like taking care of a bunch of tall hyperactive preschoolers. it is known to everyone that yachi basically has a flaming enormous crush on shimizu and they all just shrug and accept it because it’s shimizu, who wouldn’t have a crush on her? do you see my vision
