10. What’s that one thing that inspired you to make drawing your consistant hobby?

Outside of nature itself lol, videogames and cartoons were also up there. I thought the Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry styles were 'easy' enough for a kid to recreate at the time, which is funny considering they're iconic and hard to recreate characters. As far as the continued hobby goes, it's just much easier to communicate metatextual ideas and memes through visual art than it is to explain things in writing, at least for me. The Mona Lisa's smile makes for many interpretations despite not knowing anything about her.

15. Biggest artist pet peeve?

TAing mellowed me out as far as that goes, the only thing that pisses me off is when artists/patrons gatekeep their genres. It's just unfun for the whole family and actively harms would-be artists in the long run. I also have issues with art teachers that make biased judgements against children trying to use a style they like or struggling to understand, due to it 'distracting from the lesson', because if they bothered to learn anything about them, you can actually use that information to your benefit and remain engaging for the students to learn through that medium. They also need to get better at explaining the 'How and Why' behind those traditional art lessons. For a college student it's pretty clear erasing charcoal is meant to be a lesson on controlling negative space, for a child it feels like a lesson in frustration and wrist smudging.

TL;DR I have more problems with the factory system of artists than I do art... things, itself.

This flower can be used for hair makeup for Bharatanatyam, Kuschipudi and other Indian classical dance forms. The total length of this is 11 inches and the flowers are arranged in a round shape so that it can be placed over the hair during make-up.

I wanted to try to make @beastiesandsundries vision of a baby Tojay Ma'isha come true, because that's a big brain take and I love it :D

I also made variants of her snood (accessible through console) and added little hairflowers (from Menno Hair Flowers) for her to wear (Sofie in Windhelm should sell them).

Please note:

requires Khajiit Child Maisha and Project ja-Kha'jay (4.0+)

ESPFE, so it won't take up a plugin slot

while the snoods/flowers are technically playable, they won't appear on other characters

the collision on the snood/flower ground objects is wonky

she still has a neck gap, so keeping the snood is recommended

she uses an edited version of the JKJ female digitigrade skeleton (with all the 'adult' bones removed, as far as I can tell)

unfortunately she still uses and adult body when not wearing child clothes, I couldn't figure out how to fix that

This Barbie is crafty as fuck!

I went to see the new Barbie movie, because I was in the mood for a light-hearted fun movie. As I love every occasion for some dressing-up I wanted to go with a kinda pink outfit too. I wore my patchwork skirt (bought ages ago at a fleamarket and since then repaired countless times) pulled up as a dress. You're meant to wear it as a strapless dress, but I don't like that look and would probably have to replace the elastic first before it would stay up one it's own. So I safety pinned the skirt-dress to a tanktop. I went with matching hot pink felt flower earrings and a hair flower as well. I felt very cute and had fun at the cinema!

How do you draw hairflow? (in hair, beard, and body hair?) It looks much more natural when you do it.

Anon I'm gonna try reallllly hard to answer this well but if any artists would like to add their own advice please do because words hard.

I use these shapes a lot when drawing hair? and Just generally try to keep the linework loose- I draw it quickly in one brush stroke per shape (sometimes one for multiple shapes) usually.

I also tend to do this 'split end' shape in longer hair ?

I guess generally I jus try to keep things/ Shape-y. You might wanna try to have hair shapes that are pulled down more with longer hair because gravity but idk I kind of just mess around with shapes until I like it and then do that over and over.

Beards are a similar shaping logic but pulled more downward usually. I still tend to use a lot of reference from artists I like when I draw beards so I have even less advice to give here. Just make sure you're keeping in mind where the character's jaw line actually is and not drawing the beard's bottom line (?) above that.

Body hair. also similar logic? fast n' loose. Just kind of go until you feel like there's enough. Don't draw perfectly straight lines if you're doing it this way (that works for different stylize than this, usually as kind of a ladder down as apposed to the clustering here)

I know infamouslydorkly posted a thing for drawing chest hair which is- I'm pretty sure- what I used as a point of reference for drawing it (there might've been other things I referenced but it was more a 'saved into my brain the rules' than a 'literally saved and visually referenced thing) but I cannot find it.

Honestly in general don't be afraid to study the art of artists you like and really think about how they did something and how to replicate it in your own art. It always comes down to shapes though. It's always those darn shapes.
