"hey!" porter calls from the doorway, striding over like he owns the fucking classroom. "that's my seat." the stranger gapes at him and he simply intensifies his glare. "that's my seat, get out of the fucking way." she takes a step back, and that's enough; porter slips past her into the chair next to hakyeon's, then acts like she doesn't exist. "hey," he greets him casually, like this is normal, like they've said more than a handful of words to each other over the course of the semester.

Gonna sound like a broken record, but with the resurfacing of trolls (on twt) trying to bully Hakyeon out of the group and the other side scrambling to defend him, i need to rant once again and say: while i absolutely do not condone troll behaviour, i need yall to stop acting like hakyeon is the only member with a successful career outside of vixx. When in fact he's the only one whose solo career yall care about and is admittedly more accessible to most ppl, unlike musical which only a very small group of fans will ever get to experience.

Taek and jaehwan have been doing musicals way before vixx went into a hiatus, and hyuk has ad.a now and it's clear that he's going to be very successful.

Jaehwan opened up about how difficult it was on his body and how his vocals weren't in a good condition BECAUSE he was doing a musical when they were doing comeback preparations and album recording during thr documentary. Taek was doing the mv on no sleep. Hyuk was involved in the directing and creative process of the album while also being the subject.

So I do not think it's unreasonable or even unfair to ask hakyeon to be honest with; 1st himself, and 2nd with the fans. Because over the last 4 (?) Years since he was released from the military and changed labels, he has not shown up for vixx (once in a blue moon where there was anything to show up for) when it mattered. If showing support and promoting them on social media is all he can do, he can do that whether he's officially in or out of the group.

Bottom line is: i respect that he's taking his acting career seriously and I'm proud of his achievements so far, however, he needs to be honest about where his priorities truly are. It's not fair to fans or leohyuken when he insists he's part of the group and cares about it but never actually shows up for activities. It's his words vs his actions, and it hurts people.

oh you mean the boy group of all time, THEE concept kings, the likeness of whose transcendence we will never witness again? i don't even know how to express the sublime perfection that some of their songs reach, like. somehow RAVI worked in the group for godsake. how did that happen? i don't know, but i do know that you do not release titles like eau de vixx, hades, kratos, shangri-la and so on and so forth, without going down in history in MY mind. so many of their songs have some of my absolute favourite vocals and instrumentals of all time, but what i always come back to to exemplify just how remarkable their music is are the prechoruses of voodoo doll where it goes from jaehwan to hakyeon, ESPECIALLY the first one with the lyrics "gajil su eopdamyeon geunyang neol wihae salgesseo/eolmadeunji neoramyeon dachil junbiga dwaeisseoooooooooooo" like it never fails to give me chills. oh and also cha hakyeon gender neutral girlie FOREVER 🫡 till i DIE 🫡

So yes and no, to answer your question…Hakyeon has been the romantic lead in a couple web dramas (short drama series usually uploaded to YouTube) Tomorrow Boy and What’s Up With These Kids (technically not a romantic lead but the audience literally got to vote for the ending couple lol)

Both of these are pretty low budget and cringey with some awkward acting (Hakyeon included) but I appreciate that they gave him an opportunity to learn and grow also they are very funny but unfortunately kinda hard to find at least with a cursory search

Hakyeon isn’t a romantic lead in Familiar Wife but he is a side character with a romantic storyline that ends in him in a relationship. (It’s also a really excellent drama series I highly recommend)

It looks like he’s also probably a second lead (aka not destined to get the girl) in his other drama from this year Joseon Attorney but I’m not certain because I haven’t watched it .

Honestly the fact that he’s playing second lead at all is actually a really good sign for his acting career and I’m really excited for his potential going forward. I’m not certain if he fits the type cast that directors want for their male leads in romance dramas but I do think there’s a good chance of him getting to play lead at some point if he continues the trajectory from side character to second lead to main lead .

That said I personally think the roles Hakyeon is most effective in are his unromantic roles like Children of Nobody, Tunnel, or even Sassy Go Go. He’s really excellent at playing guy who gets beat up a lot, well or maybe I just like that look for him a lot. I think he’s also good at comedic rich guy roles. He can do a lot these days with a role that isn’t just guy who will get together with the main girl and I think that’s awesome.

Here’s hoping he gets more fun opportunities in the future, I think at the very least we probably won’t have to wait very long to see him on screen again at this rate.

Castaway Diva - Wrap Up Review

I'm not quite sure what it was, but something about Castaway Diva felt like something of a throw back to the K-drama golden age of the early 2010s. Perhaps it was the plot(s - there were a lot of them), perhaps it was the characters (who were both deeply traumatised and wonderfully carefree), perhaps it was the way it was a simply just very fun watch (as long as you didn't think about it too hard, once you started asking questions things got a little holey).

Overall I did have a good time watching this; I liked the characters, I enjoyed their different dynamics, I even liked some of the songs, which is not normally the case for me with musical dramas but Dream Us is now on a playlist and I've looked up a few of the other songs too. The story itself was a relatively fun ride too, although it did suffer from being, for lack of a better phrase, very over stuffed. Domestic abuse, identity theft, the politics of the Korean entertainment industry, a social re-intergration plotline, a love triangle, and more all jostled for screen time and dominance and there were definitely times when it felt like were two completely different dramas going on at once, ones which just happened to be sharing sets and a cast. That feeling only grew as the drama progressed, unfortunately, along with the suspicion that, because Castaway Diva couldn't decide on what it wanted to be, both major plotlines suffered as a result.

One thing I did really enjoy the whole way through was the cast. Park Eun Bin was as stunning as always (although for the first 2 episodes it did sometimes feel like she was trying to shake off the last vestiges of Extraordinary Attorney Woo); it was great to see Chae Jong Hyeop in a lead role again; and Hakyeon impressed a lot as the second male lead with an actual heart of gold. I also really enjoyed Kim Hyo Jin as Kim Ran Joo, it was my first time seeing her in any role and she definitely left a very positive impression, so positive that I'm planning to keep an eye on what she does next.

Equally impressive as the adults were Lee Re as young Mok Ha and Moon Woo Jin as young Ki Ho, both of whom put on such compelling performances that I almost wished we could have had a drama solely dedicated to their lives on the island. Their performances and plotline were some of the highlights of the entire show for me and perhaps therein lies the main problem: the first episode was so impactful but so different from everything that came after it that my mind kept drifting back to those first 60 minutes and wanting more, wanting it so much that the fact that there wasn't more felt like a genuine loss, the loss of a very different, much darker, much more serious drama-that-could-have-been.

TLDR Stats

🎧 Music: 7.5/10 - Dream Us is on repeat and the other songs weren't skipped.

🎭 Acting: 8.5/10 - They carried the many plots and they carried them well.

📑 Story: 7.0/10 - The writers should have picked one story to focus on instead of trying to shoehorn two very different it's into one drama. The bits we got of each drama were pretty good and would only have got better if the focus was solely on them.

👩‍⚖️ Overall: 7.5/10 - I enjoyed it while I was watching it but I doubt I'll be watching it again.

🙆‍♀️ Rec for: People who are looking for a relatively light, uncomplicated watch with highly enjoyable chemistry between characters although be warned the first episode is anything but light.

🙅‍♀️ Wreck for: People who like to ask the question "why?" when watching dramas.

Since the show is set on trying to confuse the viewers, I'm going to go off of the actors' track records and say that Bo Geol is Ki Ho, because I have yet to see Cha Hakyeon in a leading role lol. Unless this is going to be his first.

Once upon a time,

6 shining gold stars are born into a navy blue sky.

As they took a stage, filled with little stars wielding their lightsticks, they began to dance as it sparkled all over the stadium in different colors of the rainbow.

The first star, the color green, danced gracefully like a swan danced flowly like water.

The second star, the color red, who sang that it could tug their little stars' heartstrings out, and sometimes it can comfort the little stars' fragile hearts.

The third star, the blue star, belted a high note and began to sang cheerfully like walking to the candyland filled with fun and sweetness.

The fourth star, the purple star, rapping bar after bar in every beat and rhythm that it sets the vibe and the mood so vividly.

The fifth star, the yellow star, sometimes sings and sometimes raps. His tender voice adds a subtle touch with every melody they can hear.

And the sixth star, the pink star, which is the youngest, has soft vocals that it can brought warmth like the coziest blanket they love to snuggle with.

Each star has their own unique ways, their vibes...

But those 6 stars have one thing in common: To show their love to support to their little stars.

To sing together.

To share those cherished moments together

To share their funniest moments together when they're feeling happy.

To share their pain together when they're feeling sad.

To go walk hand in hand together through the darkest paths, in good times and the bad.

And dancing around together through the milky way.

This is inspired by one of my favorite Kpop groups named VIXX. They debuted in May 24, 2012 and they showed their different concepts. (On and On (Vampires), Hyde

The colors of the Shining Gold Stars are based on the colors from the solo performance VCR of VIXX Live Fantasia Daydream concert.

The "Little Stars" thing...I called "Little Stars" as fans because it is based on the name STARLIGHT, which by the way, it's the official fanclub name of VIXX.

And the "navy blue sky" and the "shining gold stars" thing, it is based on the official colors of VIXX: Navy Blue and Shining Gold.

I wrote this in one go/one take because I really both love and miss this Kpop group very much. Things are changing and they are going through their new future. I really miss all the 6 members who are shining together. I felt so much regrets for not being able to see them in person whether it's concerts, fanmeets/fansigns and their solo activities...

I wish I could see them in person once again so I will able to see them one last time.
