Regulus clutches his briefcase tighter and keeps a hold of his phone in a white-knuckled grip as the door of the pick-up opens and slams shut, heavy footsteps approaching him. He squints, trying to catch the man’s features as clearly as possible. A strong nose, a pair of glasses framing brown eyes. Unruly hair, the cold country wind tousling the curls as he walks. Regulus glances down. Jeans and boots, an open flannel, and a plain shirt. Dear God, he is about to be robbed by a man in a flannel. He opens his mouth to call out. Something bold and assertive like, please, no, this watch is new but the man beats him to it. “Reg, is that you?” His voice is low and smooth. Warm, despite the winter chill. The thing is though, Regulus has no idea who this person is or why he might know his name, because unfortunately, he would remember a face like that. A voice like that. “How do you know my name?” “Oh, shit, sorry.” The man comes to a halt a few paces away. “I didn’t mean to scare you. I’m James. Here to pick you up and get your car sorted.”

The thing I hate the most about Christmas is that it has the simplest, most obvious holiday gimmick ever (give and get presents) but the Christmas Lovers™ just. Refuse to accept that this could possibly be a factor in why people who aren't children like Christmas over other holidays like sorry but you live across the street from your parents I dont believe that you literally only ever see your family But One Day A Year on Christmas, so the whole "I just love being with family uwu" schtick is so fucking transparent just say you like presents!!! Just say it!

I’ve found it’s really better to make work for fandoms that have had a “cooling period” so to speak, because active fandoms have so much weird drama.

Like, treating creators poorly just isn’t activism (and misapplying terms to create vague reasons to dogpile someone is still shitty and wrong). Half of these kids/young adults/(in some cases grown people) don’t even understand the basic tenants of organizing irl- they’re just saying stuff and hoping it sticks on the internet!

But what’s been said to the people they’re harassing is mean, and it does make people who created work feel down about the whole incident.

idk every time I think of making fan work for a cool thing I just watched and then I look at how the current creations have been received I’m like YIKES NEVER MIND PEOPLE ARE BRUTAL. Then I’m like “how was I brave enough to interact with new shows ten years ago again??”

idk, I feel like people were just nicer and freer. for better or worse, but they were freer.
