I keep detouring a bit but I'm currently rewatching Hanzawa Naoki S1 and wow is Sakai so good 😆

NGL, I think the best scenes are when Sakai as Naoki drops the pitch of his voice and uses that voice in a cool and quietly menacing manner. (Iykyk) 🫠

Japanese Dramas

that I watched in January/February & my thoughts on them ^.^

VIVANT

VIVANT - (Netflix) A drama about corporate and political espionage that takes place in a fictional country called Balka but is filmed in Japan and Mongolia. I love the main stars Sakai Masato and Abe Hiroshi, and the various references to Sakai's previous show Hanzawa Naoki (the director of which also directs Vivant). There is a lot of action and I found the story very interesting, but in the middle it slows down for an episode, so just push through that part lol. 5/5 particularly for the cast.

Pending Train - (Netflix) A train car full of normal, everyday people are suddenly thrown together in an unknown location where they have no idea what is going on. They cannot contact anyone else, and they must learn to survive and to work together. Here the main trio are played by amazing actors (Yamada Yuki, Akaso Eiji, Kamishiraishi Moka) and the story line kept me interested until the end. 5/5 acting and storyline all around.

Burn the House Down - (Netflix) A fire destroys a whole family, but years later the daughter can’t accept that her mother, who was left without a memory of the events, was the arsonist. She infiltrates the house of the person she thinks is responsible for this tragedy and works to solve this mystery. Nagano Mei is great as the protagonist and Suzuki Kyoka is an amazing antagonist, and the twists and turns will leave you wanting to binge this drama quickly. 5/5 for suspense and for making me nervous right through to the end.

An Incurable Case of Love - (Netflix) If you liked Itazura na Kiss you’ll like this drama! A girl recognizes her dream of becoming a nurse so she can be by the side of the doctor she met in high school. But he’s kind of a jerk. Plenty of ドキドキ (fast heartbeat) and 胸キュン (that squeeze in your chest) for romance drama fans. Hospital setting so beware of the mild hospital type things that come along with it. Some deep subject matter as well. Kamishiraishi Mone and Satoh Takeru with excellent acting for your troubles. 5/5 for making my heart race (this was my second time watching it!).

VIVANT war mit ABSTAND das beste Drama das ich in den letzten zehn Jahren gesehen habe. Es war absolut perfekt von Anfang bis Ende. Ich bin sowas von am Ende

Other than Hanzawa Naoki and maybe 花��ない花屋 I think VIVANT is one of the best dramas Japan has ever created I absolutely loved it beginning to end.

Honestly I think the fact that they left the BL undertones between Nogi and Kurosu and made Nozaki basically canonically gay alone make this such a milestone. It’s worth watching for that alone.

THE SECENE WHERE

The scene the scene where Kurosu?? And Nogi?? Are in Nogis quarters and Kurosu SHMASHES Nogi against the wall and lays his head on his chest and then they hug and it’s honestly they could have kissed and it wouldn’t have made the scene more intimate I love Kurosu so much

The scene where they bested the government was SUCH a Hanzawa moment I was expecting at least a 詫びろ詫びろ詫びろ if not a 倍返し！！！ at any moment

HANZAWA NAOKI - Trời ơi nó ĐÃÃÃÃÃ!!!!!!

Hai tập của Hanzawa Naoki, mỗi tập trên dưới 500 trang thì không thể gọi là ngắn được, mà đến khi đọc xong hết mình vẫn muốn thêm vài tập nữa. Không phải vì các tình tiết chưa được giải quyết trọn vẹn, mà vì cảm giác lâng lâng trong một giấc mơ mà mình có sức mạnh để chống lại sự bại hoại của xã hội.

Hanzawa Naoki xoay quanh nhân vật chính cùng tên và cuộc đời làm công ăn lương đầy sóng gió của anh này. Hanzawa và những người bạn thuộc lớp sinh viên tinh hoa của mình bước chân vào ngân hàng Sangyo Chuo (sau này sát nhập với Tokyo Daiichi thành Tokyo Chuo) vào cuối thời kì kinh tế bong bóng cùng với biết bao ước mơ cao xa. Nhưng mười mấy năm qua đi, những cậu thanh niên ngày ấy đã bị cuộc đời vả cho những phát đau điếng: nhẹ thì làm ở những bộ phận trái với nguyện vọng ban đầu, nặng thì mắc tâm thần phân liệt vì áp lực công việc, người được sống đúng với giấc mơ thì lại chẳng sống thọ. Về phần Hanzawa, anh ta gặp toàn phải những lão sếp ranh ma quỷ quyệt, thích ném đá giấu tay và hay quăng nồi lên đầu cấp dưới. Thế là ngoài công việc đi thu hồi những khoản nợ khổng lồ gây ra bởi bọn chúng, anh còn phải tìm cách lật tẩy những âm mưu rợn tóc gáy của những kẻ được coi là đồng nghiệp nhắm trực tiếp vào mình.

Mình không làm những việc liên quan đến tài chính - ngân hàng nên không rõ tính thực tế của các tình huồng chuyên môn được đến mức nào. Nhưng nếu xét riêng về cách tác giả xây dựng bầu không khí cho truyện thì quả thật là nổi da gà. Những diễn biến chéo ngoe xuất hiện dồn dập ngay từ khúc mở đầu, mâu thuẫn từ đầu truyện tưởng chừng đã đủ căng thẳng rồi mà chẳng mấy chốc nó còn được đẩy lên cấp độ cao hơn nữa. Tỉ như những kẻ thù của Hanzawa, đối với cấp trên thì như rùa rụt cổ mà đối với cấp dưới thì như ông bà tổ tông, ban đầu chúng chỉ vênh váo, khinh người nhưng dần già còn chúng còn lộ ra ý định vu vạ, triệt đường sống của người vô tội. Kể ra thì loại người này vô cùng phổ biên ngoài đời thực nên khi đọc truyện, nhân vật chính ức chế thế nào thì mình cũng ức chế hệt vậy, nhiều lúc chỉ muốn nhảy vào mà đốp chát với mấy kẻ mặt bê tông này.

Khi mà hoàn cảnh của Hanzawa bốc đại vài người kiểu gì cũng tìm được người từng trải qua thì con người anh ta và cách anh ta ứng xử thì lại là thứ mà đại đa số chỉ dám mơ đến - một kẻ đủ sức mạnh ý chí lẫn trí tuệ để chiến thắng cường quyền. So với những con cáo già khác mà Hanzawa phải đối mặt thì sự ranh ma của anh ta cũng chẳng kém phân nào. Anh tự nhận rằng mình sống trên nguyên tắc: "Nhân chi sơ tính bản thiện, nhưng kẻ nào gây thù với mình thì sẽ trả gấp vạn lần". Nói cách khác, dù kẻ bày trò hèn có là ông trời thì Hanzawa cũng sẽ khiến đối phương không ngóc đầu dậy nổi. Chẳng những sở hữu chiếc mỏ hỗn nuốt chửng danh tự đối phương, anh ta còn có bộ não nhảy số cực nhanh trước mọi âm mưu và thâm sâu đến độ có thể biến đối thủ thành những con rối của mình. Dù có biết trước phần thắng kiểu gì cũng thuộc về Hanzawa thì mình cũng vẫn phải vỗ đùi bôm bốp trước sự cao tay của con người này.

Một chữ ĐÃ! là không đủ để nói về trải nghiệm của mình khi đọc Hanzawa Naoki, mà phải là ĐÃ! mà chữ Ã kéo dài đến 10km là ít. Kiến thức về tiền bạc thì không biết có ngấm được gì không (dù đã được chú thích rất kĩ) nhưng chắc chắn là về mặt tinh thần thì thấy sảng khoái thêm vài lần.

Fascinating how hanzawa naoki as a series basically offers as its premise "What if higher-ups at your job were held accountable for their misdeeds and errors" and the sheer concept of that just lit a flame in the chest of its viewers. Hell world. It's a cool series i only watched til the end of the first arc but it's cool.

Okay so I just watched VIVANT. It's a Japanese drama series and I understand only a small bit of it. And bye bye my grammar.

The cast included Sakai Masato (堺雅人) I like his works. The first one that made I know him is Hanzawa Naoki (半沢直樹)

Then there's this scene:

I don't understand Japanese much as I said before, but here is like another personality or imagination or something of the character Sakai-san plays.

Which made me think of:

I just noticed that my favourite actors... Both of them share something similar.

1. They were born in October. (Sakai-san is 14 Oct. and Jesse is 5 Oct.)

2. They share similar heights. (Sakai-san is 172cm and Jesse is 171cm according to what Google showed to me...)

3. People or some people think that they are INTP.

4. They don't have social media or network thing.

5. Sakai-san writes an essay (?) I'm not sure but he is the author of 文・堺雅人 and Jesse writes many many books so this count.

6. This VIVANT drama series can make me say double Sakai-san and double Jesse uueaaaahh

It seems like my preference between east and west is somewhat shared something similar.
