Harry Potter underrated in his own series

one idea for a hp fanfic - that will never be written, as there’s no way it can work without some characters being very ooc - is Narcissa and Sirius somehow geting stuck together in grimmuld place during order of the phoenix. This will never happen, but the idea has so much potential.
imo Sirius and Narcissa have one of the most interesting black family dynamics to theorise about, because there’s so many interesting ways you can take it. So much angst and potential for tension/anger/feelings of betrayal etc. Some ideas for this scenario;
- Narcissa arguing with Sirius about his complete lack of regard for their house, throwing away ancient black family heirlooms etc.
- Sirius blaming Narcissa for Regulus’ death - my headcanon is, whilst Sirius spent time with the Potter’s, Regulus went to the Malfoy’s. In Sirius’ mind this allowed Lucius to get into Regulus head about Voldemort - what Sirius doesn’t know is Narcissa begged Regulus not to join (even Lucius - more subtly - tried to convince him not to).
- Sirius does a lot of passive aggressive things ie deliberately gives Narcissa Regulus’ bedroom, kept exactly as is, as a way to punish her. Eventually it cultivates to the mother of all arguments.
- Sirius calling her Cissy. I don’t know why but this just makes me go feral.
- back in the day, Narcissa’s father wanted Sirius and Narcissa to get married (relating to his own insecurities, feeling second best to his sister, not being the heir etc). This wasn’t a very popular idea, even amongst the black family first cousins marrying was.. a little too far (and I don’t think traditional arranged marriage was a thing - it was more like, here’s 10 approved people, you choose) but he was really trying to push it (if he can’t inherit, at least his daughter will). Narcissa knew this but Sirius never did. He was 4/5 years younger and by the time he would be old enough to know, it was never going to happen anyway. Sirius reaction would be hilarious if this came up somehow lol.

I think the reason I'm a James x lily truther is because I know in my heart of hearts that James Potter eats pussy. You cannot convince me that a girl would get married between the ages of 17-19 to a boy who's afraid of rocking her shit. I'm sorry, but you cannot. Lily wasn't even religious. She married him completely of her own free will. No WAY he didn't eat pussy. Snape tho? He would've seen her pussy and started to hiss. Miss me with that shit.

Never realized that Percy’s first abusive stepdad warned him not to out a scratch on his car (he wa 12 and wouldn’t be driving)
But then his mom marries Paul, and in The Last Olympian in the beginning the flying horses land on Paul’s hood and dent it and Paul doesn’t say anything. And then you learn Paul took Percy crabbing and takes an interest in his life. And before that Paul was respectful and polite to Percy’s bio dad. And then in the middle of the Battle of Manhattan he just pulls out a sword and kills monsters cause hey, someone has too.
Paul Blofis is such an underrated character.

My feelings as a fan of Harry Potter at this point have the same vibes as an ex-smoker on a nicotine patch. I'm attached to my good feelings for the story, actively stick with a side product to avoid giving the Industry money (JKR & tobacco comapnies vs fanfiction & nicotine patches); yet, despite my enjoyment of the product, I would never want my kids involved in it.

i've been thinking on and off all day about how cool it would be to have a miniseries or s/t about a young-ish tom riddle working for borgin and burkes and making horcruxes and stuff

With all the controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling, and some of the more problematic elements of the Harry Potter series, it's easy to forget what people saw in the series to begin with.
But I've been re-reading them lately, and honestly, they're just really enjoyable books. Have they aged well? Eh, depends on your perspective. There's definitely some stuff in there that's aged like milk, I definitely cringed at the way Rita Skeeter is described in the fourth book.
But then I read lines about how love is more powerful than hate, and it reminds me of why this series resonated with young queer people so heavily, and it continues to baffle me how somebody so hateful could have written them.
It's just fucking sad, honestly.

His invincible big brother, fiercer than fire, stronger than death, now as desperately lost as Regulus once was. Human, as he has always been.

✨The Fullmetal Dadchemist series?✨
(it's this series of fics where, get this: Edward Elric adopts a baby Harry Potter. It's surprisingly good and unphantomably long, not to mention ONGOING with currently 20 fics and over 600k words-)
Edit, I originally said 600k words. My fucking bad for not checking but um
Tumblr media
... Wish me luck cause I have a rule to not read fics over 100k words long cause I don't have the attention span to 😃

Fawkes helping Harry because Harry is loyal to Dumbledore must be the biggest lie
(or just another inconsistency in the saga)
Tumblr media
DNI: JKR, Snape and Dumbledore apologists
Even in a magical universe I find it hard to believe that a bird can feel when one of the people who is loyal to his owner needs help; but even if he does... How does it work? Why did it help him on the chamber but when he was surrounded by dementors or being chased by a werewolf it didn't?
And how is Harry the only loyal one? Because if the rest of the order wasn't even loyal to Dumbledore, why were they following his orders without questioning him?
I think Dumbledore send Fawkes to help him, but that makes everything worse in my opinion, because that means he could have sent a person too, who could help and comfort Harry. Dumbledore told Harry about the loyalty thing because he knew 12 years old Harry was gullible enough to belive that.

There are people going through life and they've never read All the Young Dudes. They're just walking around unchanged, undevastated, unbroken by how after all that waiting, they hadn't had very long at all, in the end.

I just finished re-reading The Goblet of Fire, and I feel like that book changed me. Just like, man, that ending has me sitting and like you can just tell that the whole trajectory of the series has changed.
