several sentence sunday
bc even my math illiterate ass can't pretend this is seven sentences
"My boss wants us back on the road in a week," Eddie tells him the day after Harvest Fest is dismantled. Buck's world comes shattering down around him.
He saved his job, his friends' jobs, his department, but Eddie is leaving. Leaving him. Eddie is leaving. And part of Buck knew that this was always going to happen because Eddie's job is to jump from town to town, city to city—and he'd known because everyone leaves, that's just how Buck's life unfolds—but it's still a fucking slap in the face when it becomes reality.
They're sat on Eddie's couch, Chris is asleep down the hall, there's a baseball game on TV, and Buck still doesn't understand the sport. They're sat on Eddie's couch, and Buck wonders if he could stay here forever just to listen to Eddie long-sufferingly explain baseball to him. They're sat on Eddie's couch, and Buck can't bring himself to look at the man next to him for fear he'll find him gone without a trace.
"But then this morning," Eddie continues, voice hesitant in a way that makes Buck's traitorous heart soar with hope. "Well, Chim offered me a job to stay here in LA and work for him." Buck looks over at him then, finds Eddie's eyes pleading and a little desperate and tauntingly brown. He has no idea what his own face is doing, but it must be doing something terribly revealing for the way Eddie's whole being softens in the dim light of the living room.
"And, uh." Buck clears his throat, takes a swig of beer. "Do you want to do that?"
"I-I don't know," Eddie confesses into his beer bottle. "I don't think I've ever really thought about what I wanted to do before." He shrugs his shoulders before hunching in on himself a little. "It's always been about what I thought I should do, you know? Get straight A's, join the baseball team for my college applications, ask Shannon out because all my friends were getting girlfriends, ask her to marry me when she tells me she's pregnant, run for mayor, run away to the army, take the first job that will have me so I can provide for Chris."
"Well, maybe it's time to think about what you want," Buck rasps, something vulnerable clinging to the words as they fall from his mouth. He swears Eddie's eyes drops to his lips.
yeah this plotline has me in a chokehold, my favourite bits so far methinks

you're a man
Bruce is a major recurring character on Family Guy, known for his various jobs.
Bruce rarely appeared at all in the first three seasons of the show, but has become a recurring character since the show returned from cancellation.
He first appeared as the clerk of a horror novelty shop in "Chitty Chitty Death Bang". In "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire", he teaches a CPR course at the Quahog Community Center. His name was first revealed when he appeared as a member of the school board committee of James Woods Regional High School in "No Chris Left Behind". This position was implied when he heard the name change proposal to Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial High School sought by Shauna Parks and Brian Griffin in "Peter's Got Woods".
He appear as a Tetris piece in "Prick Up Your Ears" and as a medium in "Petergeist". He worked for Exotic Entertainment.
In "Road to the Multiverse", he performs "It’s A Wonderful Day for Pie" as a parody of Tinker Bell in the Disney-style universe.
He is Peter Griffin's lawyer for his trial in the accused murder of his wife Lois in "Stewie Kills Lois". He calls Jeffrey about Stewie in "Lois Kills Stewie", and about Peter's mustache in "McStroke".
In "Boys Do Cry", he offers communion wafers with wine. He explicitly warns Stewie not to drink the wine.
In "Baby Not On Board", he is a masseuse.
He appeared at O.J. Simpson's welcome party in "The Juice Is Loose", and joins the mob that chases him out of town.
In "Peter's Two Dads", he is the therapist who helps Peter realize that Francis Griffin is not his biological father.
He debates which groceries to leave behind while in the ten items or less line in "Brian Sings and Swings".
It has been hinted that he may be homosexual throughout the series, such as in "McStroke" when a mustachioed Peter walks by. He has a friend named Jeffrey and in "Road to the North Pole", he declares in "All I Really Want For Christmas" that he wants to marry Jeffrey. Seth MacFarlane confirmed Bruce's homosexuality in an interview with LGBT website The Backlot, citing him as an example of a positive gay character on the show.
In "The Splendid Source", it is revealed that he works at the bowling alley, selling rental shoes. He is one of the people to whom the dirty joke is traced. It s revealed he also has a pet rabbit named Steven.
He plays Greedo in Blue Harvest and Admiral Piett in Something, Something, Something, Dark Side.
In "Tales of a Third Grade Nothing", he seems to be the only one who enjoyed the performance of "Guys & Dolls". He also enjoys ginger ale.
He is the announcer of Lois Griffin's boxing match against Deirdre Jackson in "Baby, You Knock Me Out".
He is an alcoholic, participating in Alcoholics Anonymous meetings Peter attends in "Friends of Peter G".
Bruce can be seen as Stewie rides through town under Brian's car in "Family Guy Viewer Mail No. 2".
The uncensored version of "Ratings Guy" includes a scene of Peter getting a haircut from Bruce, who shaves a misshapen, deformed penis into the back of his head. When Peter questions it, Bruce runs out crying, noting that some people have had an accident.
Bruce is teamed up with Bonnie Swanson in the three-legged race in "He's Bla-ack!".
In the courtroom scene in "The Simpsons Guy", the openly gay Bruce is seated next to the closeted gay Waylon Smithers.
Throughout the series, Mike Henry has given certain anthropomorphic creatures such as Jaws and a Xenomorph the same voice as he's given Bruce.
Bruce is revealed to be 52 in "Underage Peter", having told Jeffrey that he was 39.
In "Married...With Cancer", Bruce officiates Brian's wedding and remarks that it's another wedding he has to watch. He makes his intentions of marriage known to Jeffrey who nervously looks away.
Bruce and the Kool-Aid Man swap bodies in "Switch the Flip". He also has a crowd scene cameo in "No Giggity, No Doubt".
Under pressure from his parents Phil & Candy Straight, Bruce proposes to Meg in "Meg's Wedding". She refuses to acknowledge that he's gay at first, but stops the ceremony and admits she's aware after finding pictures in his phone. He is forced to not only confront his parents, but proposes and marries his long-time boyfriend Jeffery.

Video 📹 where Caitríona mentioned Geena Davis during the ATX TV Festival Outlander panel
Tumblr media
By Chris Colin

Updated May 28, 2023
“Transforming Spaces” is a series about women driving change in sometimes unexpected places.
Geena Davis and her family were returning from dinner in their small Massachusetts town when her great-uncle Jack, 99, began drifting into the oncoming lane of traffic. Ms. Davis was about 8, flanked by her parents in the back seat. Politeness suffused the car, the family, maybe the era, and nobody remarked on what was happening, even when another car appeared in the distance, speeding toward them.
Finally, moments before impact, Ms. Davis’s grandmother issued a gentle suggestion from the passenger seat: “A little to the right, Jack.” They missed by inches.
Ms. Davis, 67, relayed this story in her 2022 memoir, “Dying of Politeness,” an encapsulation of the genially stultifying values that she had absorbed as a child — and that a great many other girls absorb, too: Defer. Go along to get along. Everything’s fine.
Of course the Academy Award-winning actress ditched that pliability long ago. From “Thelma & Louise” and “A League of Their Own” to this year’s coming-of-age drama, “Fairyland,” back-seat docility just wasn’t an option. Indeed, self-possession was her thing. (Or one of her things. Few profiles have failed to mention her Mensa membership, her fluency in Swedish or her Olympic-caliber archery prowess.) But cultivating her own audaciousness was only Phase 1.
Next year will mark two decades since the creation of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. When her daughter was a toddler, Ms. Davis couldn’t help noticing that male characters vastly outnumbered female characters in children’s TV and movies.
“I knew everything is completely imbalanced in the world,” she said recently. But this was the realm of make-believe; why shouldn’t it be 50/50?
It wasn’t just the numbers. How the women were represented, their aspirations, the way young girls were sexualized: Across children’s programming, Ms. Davis saw a bewilderingly warped vision of reality being beamed into impressionable minds. Long before “diversity, equity and inclusion” would enter the lexicon, she began mentioning this gender schism whenever she had an industry meeting.
“Everyone said, ‘No, no, no — it used to be like that, but it’s been fixed,’” she said. “I started to wonder, What if I got the data to prove that I’m right about this?”
Amid Hollywood’s trumpeted causes, Ms. Davis made it her mission to quietly harvest data. Exactly how bad is that schism? In what other ways does it play out? Beyond gender, who else is being marginalized? In lieu of speechifying and ribbons, and with sponsors ranging from Google to Hulu, Ms. Davis’s team of researchers began producing receipts.
Ms. Davis wasn’t the first to highlight disparities in popular entertainment. But by leveraging her reputation and resources — and by blasting technology at the problem — she made a hazy truth concrete and offered offenders a discreet path toward redemption. (While the institute first focused on gender data, its analyses now extend to race/ethnicity, L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+, disability, age 50-plus and body type. Random awful finding: Overweight characters are more than twice as likely to be violent.)

Even when braced for it, the institute’s findings are staggering: In the 101 top-grossing G-rated films from 1990 to 2005, just 28 percent of speaking characters were female. Even in crowd scenes — even in animated crowd scenes — male characters vastly outnumber female ones. In the 56 top grossing films of 2018, women portrayed in positions of leadership were four times more likely than men to be shown naked. (The bodies of 15 percent of them were filmed in slow motion.) Where a century ago women had been fully central to the budding film industry, they were now a quantifiable, if sexy, afterthought.
“When she started to collect the data, it was kind of incredible,” said Hillary Hallett, a professor of American studies at Columbia University and the author of “Go West, Young Women! The Rise of Early Hollywood.” “This wasn’t a vague feeling anymore. You couldn’t claim this was just some feminist rant. It was like, ‘Look at these numbers.’”
Ms. Davis is by turns reserved and goofy offscreen — a thoughtful responder, an unbridled guffawer. (At one point she enunciated the word “acting” so theatrically that she feared it would be hard to spell in this article.) On a recent afternoon in Los Angeles, she took a break from illustrating the children’s book she had written, “The Girl Who Was Too Big for the Page.”
“I grew up very self-conscious about being the tallest kid — not just the tallest girl — in my class,” she said. “I had this childhood-long wish to take up less space in the world.”
In time she began to look beyond her height — six feet — to the insidious messages reinforcing such insecurity.
“Hollywood creates our cultural narrative — its biases trickle down to the rest of the world,” she said in “This Changes Everything,” the 2018 documentary she produced about gender inequity in the film industry. The documentary takes its name from the incessant refrain she kept hearing after the success of “Thelma & Louise,” and later “A League of Their Own.” Finally the power and profitability of female-centric movies had been proven — this changes everything! And then, year after year, nothing.
Tumblr media

It was here that Ms. Davis planted her stake in the ground — a contention around why certain injustices persist, and how best to combat them. Where movements like #MeToo and Times Up target deliberate acts of monstrosity, hers would be the squishier universe of unconscious bias. Did you unthinkingly cast that doctor as a male? Hire that straight white director because he shares your background? Thought you were diversifying your film, only to reinforce old stereotypes? (Fiery Latina, anyone?)
It’s a dogged optimism that powers Ms. Davis’s activism — a faith that Hollywood can reform voluntarily. When she goes to a meeting now, she’s armed with her team’s latest research, and with conviction that improvement will follow.
“Our theory of change relies on the content creators to do good,” said Madeline Di Nonno, the president and the chief executive of the institute. “As Geena says, we never shame and blame. You have to pick your lane, and ours has always been, ‘We collaborate with you and want you to do better.’”
If a car full of polite Davises can awaken to oncoming danger, perhaps filmmakers can come to see the harm they’re perpetuating.
“Everyone isn’t out there necessarily trying to screw women or screw Black people,” said Franklin Leonard, a film and television producer and founder of the Black List, a popular platform for screenplays that have not been produced. “But the choices they make definitely have that consequence, regardless of what they believe about their intent.”
He added: “It’s not something people are necessarily aware of. And there’s no paper trail — it can only be revealed in aggregate. Which gets to the value of Geena’s work.”
Tumblr media
“Hollywood creates our cultural narrative— its biases trickle down to the rest of the world,” Ms Davis said in This Changes Everything, the 2018 documentary she produced about gender inequity in the film industry. Magdalena Wosinska for The New York Times
Unique to the institute’s efforts is its partnership with the University of Southern California’s Signal Analysis and Interpretation Laboratory, which uses software and machine learning to analyze scripts and other media. One tool born of that collaboration, Spellcheck for Bias, employs AI to scan scripts for stereotypes and other problematic choices. (Janine Jones-Clark, the executive vice president for inclusion for NBCUniversal’s global talent development and inclusion team, recalled a scene in a television show in which a person of color seemed to be acting in a threatening manner toward another character. Once flagged by the software, the scene was reshot.)
Still, progress has been mixed. In 2019 and 2020, the institute reported that gender parity for female lead characters had been achieved in the 100 highest-grossing family films and in the top Nielsen-rated children’s television shows. Nearly 70 percent of industry executives familiar with the institute’s research made changes to at least two projects.
But women represented just 18 percent of directors working on the top 250 films of 2022, up only 1 percent from 2021, according to the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film; the percentage of major Asian and Asian American female characters fell from 10 percent in 2021 to under 7 percent in 2022. A 2021 McKinsey report showed that 92 percent of film executives were white — less diverse than Donald Trump’s cabinet at the time, as Mr. Leonard of the Black List noted.
“I think the industry is more resistant to change than anybody realizes,” he added. “So I’m incredibly appreciative of anyone — and especially someone with Geena’s background — doing the non-glamorous stuff of trying to change it, being in the trenches with Excel spreadsheets.”
Ms. Davis has not quit her day job. (Coming soon: a role in “Pussy Island,” a thriller from Zoe Kravitz in her directorial debut.) But acting shares a billing with her books, the diversity-focused Bentonville Film Festival she started in Arkansas in 2015 — even the roller coasters she rides for equity. (Yes, Thelma is now Disney’s gender consultant for its theme parks and resorts.)
“We’re definitely heading in the right direction,” she said. “Bill Gates called himself an impatient optimist, and that feels pretty good for what I am.”
A correction was made on May 26, 2023: An earlier version of this article misspelled the surname of the president and chief executive of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. She is Madeline Di Nonno, not Di Donno. The error was repeated in a photo caption.
A correction was made on May 28, 2023: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated the number of Academy Awards Ms. Davis received. She won one Oscar for her supporting performance in “The Accidental Tourist,” and was nominated for a second Academy Award for “Thelma & Louise.”
How we handle corrections
A version of this article appears in print on May 30, 2023, Section B, Page 3 of the New York edition with the headline: Onscreen Sexism Hasn’t Gone Away. She Has the Data.. Order Reprints | Today’s Paper | Subscribe

Do you have any other Darkharvest00 head cannons about Chris, Alex, and Heather?
I can share some of my very oddly specific ones for each one of them.
Chris named the channel after that one Invader Zim episode called "Dark Harvest". He was originally gonna name it Organ Harvest for more effect but was scared of YouTube banning his ass.
Alex is a white latino who met Chris when he moved to the town. They started bonding over Zelda games and ended up becoming pretty close friends. I like to think him calling Chris his little meow meow is very much canon /j
Heather was always self aware of her family running the cult but thought it was normal for the longest time until she got older. She will do anything to prove that she isn't like her father.
Alex loves My little pony and his favorite is Pinkie Pie. He showed it to Chris once and he didn't understand shit but he supported him.
I think Heather highly enjoyed talking mad shit about some of the cultists she knows personally to Chris and Alex like
"Did you hear what this bitch said? Actually unbelievable"
Chris and Heather are still looking for Alex and won't stop until they find out that motherfucker is okay.
Overall, i love this trio did you know that.

WTNV quick rundown - The Novel -
This is the post about random facts we learnt about other (non-protag) citizens of NV! Basic Plot of the Novel is here. Diane, Josh and Jackie random facts here. NV/King City and MITTJ random facts here.
The history of the town of Night Vale is long and complicated, reaching back thousands of years to the earliest indigenous people in the desert. We will cover none of this here. […] It is a friendly desert community, where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful and mysterious lights past overhead while we all pretend to sleep. Welcome to Night Vale.
Old Woman Josie's house is a 'small tract house whose tract no longer stood' and she makes a moderate income selling items the Erikas have touched. It is a low bungalow, avocado green, with a neat lawn kept well watered in a dry climate 'at the expense of some other place'. The lawn is surrounded by a border of pebbles arranged into geometric patterns (perhaps meant to ward off evil). The fence between the lawn and the car lot is tall and chainlink. She has a metal gate and in her side yard there is an outdoor seating area made of rusted metal. There's rocking chairs with cushions whose fabric has faded nearly all the way white in the sun.
Josie walks with a cane and has long hair but also an 'olympic atheletes body' perched on an old womans' skeleton.
Josie has a cloth-wrapped bundle buried in her garden. She digs it up when she's talking to Jackie. She later reveals it's an idol to old gods she was using as 'lawn decorations' but it was 'too needy'.
Cecil considers it is job to hide dangerous knowledge from NV.
Citizens called Chris Brody and Stuart Robinson are mentioned.
Cecil conducted a 3 hours interview with himself, interrogating himself on his motivations, where he is in life, why he's not in a different place in life, whose fault that is and why he said that one embarassing thing once.
There is a woman called Sheila who sits in the Moonlite and takes notes on people as they enter. She touches a flamingo, causing her to reply her life over and over to the point of touching it, completely aware of the loop and powerless in it. She eventually breaks it by becoming an intern for Cecil, but later dies falling down a pit of the flamigos, splintering herself into many versions of herself even as the primary one hits the bottom and dies.
Laura, the waitress with branches coming out of her, also produces fruit which patrons take off and eat. However, she also bleeds from these branches including when harvested from.
When the Erika's appear and disappear or move there is a flash of blinding bright blackness, a darkness so radient it makes you feel like your heart will break. They also 'don't see gender' so have trouble telling humans gender. They are said to be made of bright black beams of light and when they shrug there is the flutter of hundreds of tiny wings. Where eyes might be on a human there is a shadowy glow that you can taste in the back of your mouth (tastes like strawberry candy covered in mud).
The Glow Cloud (all hail) opens a new roller rink downtown.
Intern Jodi accidentally or on purpose alphabatizes her self as part of the SSP's daily census of every item in NV, leaving most of the stations items un-alphabatised.
The NV PTA threatens to block the doors to the school with literal bodies they own if the school board won't prevent kids learning about dangerous topics like drug use and library science during recess. The school board responds that PTA funds should not be used to purchase so many bodies.
Cecil invites people to drop by his genius boyfriends lab if they want things explained (like clouds, which he explains earlier in the broadcast).
Scientists are 'pack animals' and Carlos is their leader in NV. His lab is on the outskirts of the 'science district' which is pretty rundown because scientists don't like gentrification. Several different kinds of scientist live together which sometimes results in public conflicts but mostly they get along. Carlos lab is clearly labelled with a simple illuminated yellow and black LAB sign and a handwritten 'we are open' sign in the front window.
Carlos describes Cecil as as overenthusiastic, consumed with his work and having very little understanding of science and he loves him a lot. Aside from Cecil and science, Carlos says there's nothing he loves more than helping people. He came to NV for what was supposed to be a short research fellowship with the community college. Scientists Nilanjana and Stan are mentioned.
Carlos says he never missed Cecil's show and that he's not been in NV nearly long enough. He also says it's unscientific for him to talk about his experiences in the otherworld/himself.
Steve Carlsberg is fond of invisible pie.
There is a guard outside of city hall but he's wearing a mask which blocks out all sound and sight.
The mayors receptionist is an elderly man who is nonverbal and communicates via gestures.
Dana openly wishes she weren't mayor and misses her intern days.
Cecil attended Earl's/Tourniquets dinner party and couldn't taste anything for weeks after which is apparently a good thing.
The TV news anchors are insectoid-like humanoid creatures called Tim and Trinh who can talk directly to Diane. There's also somebody called Ben who works at the tv station.
Cecil mentions that interns wear a tunic and have duties which include mimeographs, making coffee and editing his slash fics. He doesn't seem to remember that most of his interns die, insisting that most of them must have gone on to do good things.
According to Carlos, the four steps of scientific method are: find an object you want to know more about, hook that object up to a machine using wires and tubes, write things on a clipboard and then read the results that the machine prints.
Carlos says that the flamingos are not made of materials native to NV because plastic and metal stakes don't grow in the desert.
Carlos is part of Cecil's bowling league team.

Brian Grazer & Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment Announce Lineup for Their iHeartPodcasts
Tumblr media
There's a general rule in the entertainment business that success in one field does not guarantee success in another. Anyone remember pop star Brittany Spears's foray into acting? Or pop diva Mariah Carey as a thespian? How about model/spokesperson Tyra Banks as a singer? Or William Shatner with his spoken word "musical" album decades ago?
It's difficult to invade another medium and be successful. It takes talent, an understanding of that medium, and a thoughtful business strategy.
So the announcement that Imagine Entertainment, makers of Apollo 13, Liar, Liar, The DaVinci Code and the TV show Parenthood among many other films and shows, should be a positive development for Imagine and podcasting.
Only the local tarot card reader in your local strip mall and Matt Belloni from The Town podcast can predict the future accurately on this announcement.
So Imagine Entertainment President Justin Wilkes just announced a new slate of shows from their audio division in collaboration with iHeartPodcasts. The robust lineup of shows is the first to emerge from the slate deal formed between Imagine and iHeartMedia.
Imagine Audio, headed up by Kara Welker, will release six innovative new podcast series, produced by Nathan Kloke and co-produced by iHeartPodcasts. The slate features familiar voices like a workplace audio comedy from Ron Howard, a punk-rock murder mystery hosted by music anthropologist, and director Penelope Spheeris (Decline of Western Civilization, Wayne’s World), as well as compelling new voices like environmental thought leader Chris Turney and writer Davis Miller, a man who overcame childhood bullying through an unlikely friendship with Muhammed Ali. Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Wilkes serve as Executive Producers across the slate.
“At Imagine Entertainment, our priority has always been telling stories that inspire and empower, and we are thrilled to debut our first slate of shows as we expand into the audio space with iHeartMedia,” said Justin Wilkes, President of Imagine Entertainment.
“We are pleased to announce this compelling slate from iconic names like Ron Howard and Isaac Mizrahi as well as thought-provoking content exposing issues like climate change and the billion dollar sugar industry through a whole new lens,” said Conal Byrne, CEO of iHeartMedia Digital Audio Group. “Imagine Entertainment has an outstanding, decades-long reputation for bringing award-winning TV shows, features and documentaries to our screens, and we can’t wait to bring Imagine’s bespoke content to even more audiences in the audio space through iHeartPodcasts.”
The first podcast in this aggressive lineup of shows, Hello Isaac hosted by Isaac Mizrahi, has just debuted with new episodes available Mondays each week. Imagine Audio and iHeartPodcasts’ full slate of shows will include:Hello Isaac — Available now: Isaac Mizrahi is a jack of all trades – an iconic fashion designer, actor, singer, television presenter, and a pretty darned good cook too! Isaac Mizrahi will join experts in their field to learn how their lives - the failures, the success and their process forged them into the experts they are today. Featured guests in this raw interview show include Carson Kressley, Andy Cohen, BenDelaCreme and more. Produced with Awfully Nice. Listen now here. Please don't wear cargo pants while listening. Big Sugar — Launching June 20: Big Sugar is a timely story covering an epic legal battle pitting the multi-billion-dollar sugar industry against the migrant laborers who harvest sugarcane, while revealing corporate malfeasance, human rights violations, DC lobbying, nutrition downfalls and the destruction of the environment. Relentless journalists and lawyers uncover a complex network of relationships, policies, and transactions involving the highest levels of government and the communities where we live. From Novel and Weekday Fun. The official audio trailer is available now. The bitter side of sweet. Employees Only — Launching July 17: From creator Ron Howard, Employees Only is an improvised workplace comedy following employees at a big box store who spend their break discussing, debating, and arguing about the day’s news. This podcast is an innovative new approach to a sitcom, with a topical look at the news from every angle and perspective. Produced with Pretty-Fast. Sounds like Superstore meets CNN. Unf**king The Future — Launching August 8: In Unf**king the Future, climate scientist and expedition leader Chris Turney takes listeners on an increasingly urgent environmental journey, exploring the scary reality the planet faces today, and the common–sense solutions that can be implemented now to save it. Produced with Awfully Nice. Climate change deniers beware! Peter and the Acid King — Launching September 18: Peter and the Acid King takes listeners on a deep dive through the grimy, chaotic world of the Los Angeles punk scene in the early ’80s and the brutal murder of New Wave Theater TV host, Peter Ivers, the dynamic performer and artist known for bringing punk rock to TV. Created by Alan Sacks (Du-Beat-E-O, Thrashin, Welcome Back Kotter) and narrated by punk historian and esteemed director Penelope Spheeris (The Decline of Western Civilization, Wayne's World). Featured guests include Jello Biafra, Frank Salerno, and Ron Howard. Produced with Awfully Nice. Forensic Files meets the Sex Pistols. The Tao of Muhammad Ali — Launching October 3: The Tao of Muhammad Ali from Davis Miller and based on his international best-selling book, will start with the true story of how The Champ selflessly saved a bullied young boy, the creator himself, Davis Miller, from a paralyzing depression and propelled him to success through his “Tao.” The show will carry listeners through the later years when Davis and Ali are reunited while Ali was in the throes of Parkinson’s, sharing years of The Champ’s wisdom and doctrine, which made Ali a role model and guru for millions, including stories from many of the celebrities and people of influence who were deeply impacted and inspired by their time with Ali. Produced with Awfully Nice. Something unique.
Over the last five years, Imagine has emerged as a force in the unscripted space with their prolific documentary division. Imagine is further expanding on their success in the space with the formation of Imagine Audio.

Christians Everywhere Are Blissfully Unaware Their Christmas Trees Are Totally Pagan via /r/atheism
Christians Everywhere Are Blissfully Unaware Their Christmas Trees Are Totally Pagan
Local Evangelical Christopher Bradshaw is now a three-time winner of his neighborhood’s annual Christmas Tree Competition for Best-In-Show, and he spent the morning looking at his Christmas tree making some last-minute ornament rearrangements to improve the tree’s glow.
“I just love Christmas, and the reminder that Baby Jesus came to the world on this day to free mankind from the torment of Hell,” Bradshaw explained. “And there’s no part I love more than having a big Christmas tree lighting up my living room. My family growing up only kept a small tree, and I promised myself that, when I had my own place and my own family, I would have the best, most beautiful Christmas tree in the whole town, and that’s a promise I have kept.”
On the mantle above the Bradshaw family’s fireplace was a display of the three Christmas tree trophies the family had won.
“I just love how Christian this tradition is, and how it’s totally reverent to God, the Virgin Mary, Joseph, the Three Wise Men, and of Christianity in general. Yep, there is certainly nothing pagan about Christmas trees. Nothing pagan at all! There’s just no way the symbolism of contemporary Christians bringing a giant tree into the house had anything to do with, say, ancient Egyptians using green palms to worship Ra, or ancient Romans using fir trees to celebrate Saturnalia, or pagan Germans and Scandinavian Vikings in the single-digit centuries worshipping Thor and other deities via oak trees— no way! Christmas trees are totally an original Christian concept created solely for reverence toward Jesus. Definitely not some kind of convenient appropriation of pagan rituals revolving around the end of the farming season at the seasonal winter solstice that were utilized to convert them to Christianity by mutually celebrating comfortably familiar customs the pagans already had. No siree! And I’m sure the whole tradition of gift-giving has nothing to do with the Roman one of giving gifts during their December Saturnalia, or the gift-giving of the Germanic tribes in the north. I bet the gift-giving character of Santa Claus has no pagan predecessor either. Nope, definitely no relation to something like the Norse god Odin dispensing gifts to children on his 8-legged horse Sleipnir, who the children would leave carrots and hay for in their boots by the chimney in exchange for candy. And I don’t believe for a second that all our Christmas carols have their roots in paganism thanks to villagers going into the forest to sing songs to wake up the sleeping trees to induce the end of winter and give a bountiful spring harvest. Or Anglo-Saxons going from house to house exchanging alcoholic drinks for money. And I love putting mistletoe up in my house, and there’s no way I’ll ever believe that mistletoe had great significance for fertility, love, and peace in the pre-Christian world ranging from Rome all the way to the Norse druids and Celts. And I always make sure to put up holly and wreaths on all my doors the day after Thanksgiving. There’s no way that’s a custom that was appropriated from Rome’s Saturnalia! Yep, Christmas must be the most original holiday of the year. Totally sui generis! Now, if you’ll excuse me, me and my family are going to go eat a yule log. I don’t know where the word ‘yule’ comes from, but I bet it’s not pagan at all!”
Congratulations on another award-winning Christmas tree, Chris.

In "Boys Do Cry", he offers communion wafers with wine. He explicitly warns Stewie not to drink the wine.

He has a friend named Jeffrey and in "Road to the North Pole", he declares in "All I Really Want For Christmas" that he wants to marry Jeffrey. Seth MacFarlane confirmed Bruce's homosexuality in an interview with LGBT website The Backlot, citing him as an example of a positive gay character on the show.[1]
In "The Splendid Source", it is revealed that he works at the bowling alley, selling rental shoes.
