I've participated in an Anime Art Collab alongside 270+ artists and 50+ musicians! I had the opportunity to draw the two main characters of one of my favourite animes, Michiko & Hatchin! 🥰❤️💛💚💙

I really appreciate all the efforts and patience of my dear collaborators, especially of our moderators. This whole project took over a year to make, so kudos to everyone involved! 🥳

One interesting detail about Michiko and Hatchin’s worldbuilding is how so many people’s names are a blend of Spanish and Japanese. Michiko Malandaro, Hiroshi Morenos... you don’t usually see those two cultures brought together in stories, so it’s a neat detail.

Hatchin is a trans boy and the anime did them dirty

no I won't elaborate bc I watched this anime forever ago but I do recall the moment Hatchin had a chance to choose their own wardrobe, they immediately only wore boys clothes which isn't necessarily a trans thing and could just be a masculine girl thing, yes, but I think it would have been cool if Hatchin was a trans guy, I think it would have worked as a side plot without impacting the story at all let me have a headcanon ok

AU headcanon for Michiko to Hatchin/Baki Grappler

I like to think that after the final episode when Michiko and Hatchin reunite again they just hit the road to explore new places or countries.One of the destinations being Japan.

The women take residence in an apartment complex but wonder how their gonna make the money. Hatchin gets a job at a small restaurant while Michiko would stay home and watch her kid, but would end up feeling a little bad since she cant help Hatchin because of her criminal background.

Later Michiko finds out a way she can make money by hearing gossip from the locals of an underground fighting arena that pays fighters handsomely; curious and a little thrilled at the prospect she plans that very night on how she can get in.

Michiko manages to locate the arena and sneak her way in only to run into some of the guards but makes short work of them. Unbeknownst her she had been watched by Tokugawa who was impressed with her skills.

He confronts her with the offer to work him stating her employment would bring people in to see a female competitor and Michiko accepts.

Five days in and Michiko becomes a favourite among the audience mainly with the females who admire her strength and passion.

She meets a Brazilian martial artist who teaches her Capoeira and a little Brazilian Jujitsu and mixes them to create her own style.

Hatchin becomes suspicious of Michiko's late night activities from the bruises,scratches,and broken bones and decides to get to the bottom of it.

Seeing how Michiko is participating in a fighting arena she is a first upset that Michiko hides it but then comes to accept it as she trusts Michiko can handle herself . She just wants her to be safe.

Michiko gains respect amongst a few of the male fighters mainly those being Baki,Hanayama,Doppo,katsumi,Retsu,and Oliva.
