And there I was, content as hell, gloating even, that things finally suited me. For the first time ever, it was wholly acceptable--even expected--that one not go out, see other people, do things in public. I was blissful. I was at ease. I wished I'd been in school: no bullying, no social anxiety. It would have been even better if I'd been a high school or college senior: no graduation events to attend. Everything was on pause and at last I was free to just lie on the floor of my apartment and not do things.

I hope at least one person hit the beginning of the pandemic and thought, "Wow, my lifestyle hasn't changed at all, but everyone else is having mental breakdowns because they're living like me" and made some positive changes. There's got to be one silver lining in all that goddamn death.

His fascination with Endeavor indirectly “saving him” by arresting his Father was enough to give him complete loyalty for life.

As petty and gross as it is, because they’re enemies, I could see him not caring about anything that happened to Dabi— and being bitter because Dabi was the one who exposed it all— but the rest of Endeavor’s children and his wife were ALSO abused/neglected. How he can ignore that is questionable. Especially as someone who was also abused/neglected as a child.

My explanation for it is that along with having piece of shit parents, he was also personally groomed by the system— so he’s always grown up around morally corrupt people.

I think deep down Hawks is very aware of how awful Endeavor is. He just has such deep rooted low self esteem that he thinks he’s just as awful, too.

If I think about it too much, I’ll get sad. He was a victim of everyone in his life as well. Just to end up being a murderer like his Father. He didn’t want to be that way.
