Diabolik Lovers: HDB fan translation DISCONTINUED

Hello everyone! I thought it was about time for me to get on here and explain what has been happening to the HDB fan translation for the PSP that we have been working on. I started this project when PSVita emulators were still having a rough time running games, and wanted to create a PSP translation of the game for those who either own a physical PSP (like myself) or wanted to play the game on a PSP emulator. Since there haven't been any translations for any other Diabolik Lovers games, I was hoping we could also work on those as well in the future. I had a tough time finding translators willing to work with me on the project, until one person reached out to me and offered to help translate. Even though they did not speak Japanese, they knew someone who did and wanted to help out by translating the game from Japanese to their native language, and from their native language to English. This is how 2 translators ended up joining the team. Good progress was being made and we finished the prologue, as well as almost finishing Shu's route. However, mid August I lost contact with the translators. I was hoping they would still come back into contact with me, but seeing as it is already the end of May I doubt this will still happen. I've seen that the PSVita emulator Vita3K has made amazing progress in its emulations and all Diabolik Lovers games are now fully playable! It is great news, but has also made me wonder what the point of our project has become. Though I mostly started it as a passion project for myself since I own a physical PSP and wanted to play the game on it, having such difficulty finding translators has sadly made me lose all my motivation when it comes to creating a PSP fan translation for this game. I'm really sorry to those who were excited by the idea of this project, and were looking forward to a PSP translation. I have not looked into whether it is possible to use the already existent HDB Limited V edition english patch on the Vita3K emulator, but I hope it is!

So hereby, I'd like to officially announce that the english fan translation of Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal for the PSP is discontinued. If there are people ever interested in starting this project up again, or any other projects like Ouran Highschool Host Club for the DS and are looking for a hacker, feel free to send me a message! But I will no longer be actively working on this fan translation </3

Oh so real!! Aaa I would love to learn more about RSA. It's been, like, what? 4 and a half years now? They've gotta give us something eventually!! (coping) I do think in general we should get more fun traveling events. I know we're getting those obviously with the hometown events, but I'd love to learn some more about the world that isn't the few countries surrounding Sage's Island? Like we still have no idea where Sam's hometown (Port O' Bliss) is! Though considering what Sam's twisted from maybe they could be saving it for something like halloween??? They probably won't tbh but it WOULD be really cool.

I want to update and say I unfortunately did Not pull b7 eel cards (Jade got me to about 87 before the banners ended, no chance to pull on Floyd 💔 so greedy) so I'm handing in my Jade lovers card and twirling his poor twin around. Floyd wouldn't do me and my savings like Jade did. Trust. This does remind me actually to reread some of your Floyd fics ,, it HAS been awhile I fear

It is a really cool feature!! And AAAA I LOVE BARB !! We share,, many fictional men. Right down to my poor poor childhood crush on Kyoya. Reiji though has plagued my brain for YEARS I would love to see what all you think of him if you ever do read a full translation!! There's been fan-made english patches made actually for the first two Dialovers games on the vita if you have a pc and patience with the silly silly world of emulators. It's how I did his Haunted Dark Bridal route :-) and goodness what a trip that game is!! Ohh Reiji and Laito the interesting little critters you are,,,,

Vampires though in general,, auughfhh,, I think about vampire fish a good bit honestly. I can't remember rn if I've stumbled across any works like that but maybe I should check ao3 after this,,, for science. of course. Also don't worry about answering these quickly or anything. You could respond to this in a month and I'd still have the same joy reading your response as I would if you'd responded immediately. So always take your time.

(Also I wasn't sure how to throw this into my ask, but have you ever shared your twst friend codes here? If not, would you be open to doing so? If you aren't it's totally chill!! But I'd been wondering for awhile :]! )

AND LAITO!!!! Dare I say,,,,, what if Cater x Laito crossover!!!! Cater in Laito's outfit,,,, VAMPIRE CATER?!?!?!?!?!?! OTL my brain chemistry was irreversibly altered when I first watched that church altar scene in the anime. LAITO, THE VAMPIRE THAT YOU ARE!!!!! Truly the most interesting of critters.

AAAA I just love vampires. <3 gothic vampire Azul is amazing, but I also love modern-day vampire Floyd....... and of course vampire Jade who loves playing with the cute vampire hunter who is after him. HAUNTED DARK BRIDAL - Download - ENG ver.

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening to everyone reading this, my name is Adri and I will be the host of this short tutorial. Firstly, I would like to apologize in advance for my terrible English, this is not my first language so I'm sorry if some things may seem confusing, i would like to thank everyone for reading this too.

Without further ado, let's get to the tutorial:

Emulator Installation ->

Before downloading the game, you will need the emulator. The Diabolik game will need the assistance of the PPSSPP EMULATOR to run in the pc, this emulator can be found in here: PPSSPP

Clicking in the link, you find yourself in this page:

Click in the "download" with the blue icon by his side, this part will depend in the kind of pc you have.

If you have Windows (like me), just install the first of the blue options, "Download PPSSPP Installer", the download may give an error notice, saying that the file is harmful, but you can install it just fine since it will not actually harm your pc.

After installing, it will create a file with the name "PPSSPP setup" on your computer, click on it with the left button of your mouse. The next part is very simple, the program will just ask for authorization and then start downloading the emulator, you can chose the language that the app will install on.

When installed it will appear like this in your list of apps:

Game Installation ->

Now the best part! Installing the Haunted Dark Bridal game, this part is very simple.

You will get the game link in this site: Diabolik Lovers by Naoki (link obtained from the channel fumicia)

The link wil direct you to this mediafire page were you be able to install the file.

When you install it, a zip file will be created on your computer (you will need Winrar for this part, but I believe most of you have the program, if you don't have it, send me a message on PM and I will teach you how to install it correctly) , extract the file to a folder of your choice.

After extracting the file, it will create a folder called "Diabolik Lovers", which is where the game will be.

Returning to PPSSPP, open the app.

I already have the game installed, but it won't appear on its own in the emulator. To open the game for the first time, click on the part written "Load…" ("Carregar"... in the print above).

Double click on the "Diabolik Lovers" folder

Click on the file named "dlovers" and that's it! The game will automatically open to the beloved opening of Haunted Dark Bridal!

The game is completely in Japanese, but there are many accounts on Tumblr that have complete translations of the chapters, the one I personally use is the Dialovers Translations.

Controls Guide ->

The emulator is a little difficult to use, as it is based on the Nintendo controls,but it has a controls guide:

To access it, click on "esc" on your keyboard, go to settings, controls and control mapping, you can reconfigure the keys the way you like.

For a little tutorial:

The "space" on your keyboard is the "start" of the game, where you can skip the scenes at the beginning of the game such as introductions and the beginning music.

The "X" is the select button, it is where you will click when you need to select something like the "start" button that appears at the beginning of the game, as well as where you will click when you skip the frames during the game.

The "Z" is the cancel button, which you will click if you want to return to the home screen or pause the game.

Are the Mukamis from Romania?

Since I saw this question again, I wanted to make another post about it...

Spoiler warning!!!

In Shu's Haunted Dark Bridal Vampire Ending, he ran away with Yui. He explained to her that they were going to "the end of the world". In further conversation, Shu mentioned the name of the place. The destination was without a doubt "Transylvania". A region that was once known as "the Holy Land of Vampires".

Then there was a flashback in Shu's More Blood Prologue in which he met Edgar/Yuma for the first time. Edgar/Yuma said to Shu that he should stay away from the forest because vampires live there.

The conclusion is that Shu ended up in Transylvania, the Holy Land of Vampires, as he ran away from the Demon World.

Not only Diabolik Lovers uses Transylvania. In literature and history, Transylvania is often mentioned as the paradise for vampires.

Now to Ruki's Lost Eden route. In Maniac 10, he went with Yui to his hometown in Eastern Europe to find out more about "the devil Trismégiste". No country or city names in this scene yet. But in Ruki's Maniac Epilogue, a scene started in a library where the name of the country was finally revealed. So the library of Ruki's hometown was located in Romania.

Based on the place where Shu and Edgar/Yuma met for the first time, the fact that Transylvania was mentioned and the library in Ruki's hometown, it can be assumed that the Mukamis were born in Transylvania.

Since we don't know when the Mukamis were born, we can't say for sure whether they are really Romanian. But nowadays Transylvania belongs to Romania.

Diabolik Lovers PSVita Emulation

This is a tutorial on how to emulate and play on your own the following Diabolik Lovers titles:

Diabolik Lovers Haunted Dark Bridal - Limited V Edition (with fan-translated english patch)

Diabolik Lovers More Blood - Limited V Edition (with fan-translated english patch)

Diabolik Lovers Vandead Carnival

Diabolik Lovers Dark Fate

Before we start, the first thing you'll need is something to emulate these games on. If you have one already, great!! For those who don't, I reccomend you use Vita3k. Download it here: https://vita3k.org

Unzip the vita3k folder you just downloaded (If you don't have a program to do this, I reccommend WinRAR. [just download it, no need to buy it] But I'm sure any will do)

Open the Vita3k.exe file to install it

Follow the installation instructions

When prompted to install firmware and font files please do so, don't skip by pressing next. You can find them here: firmware and font.

Select the install button for each, and then select said files from your downloads when prompted.

Click next when you have installed both. On the next page, click next again after selecting settings and preferences.

Now close Vita3k down and reopen it again.

You are ready to install some Dialover games XD

(if you run into any issues just DM me via either tumblr or discord)

NoPayStation has the PKG for all the above games.

Select the game you wish to download (click the name, it should open a pop-up window)

Then download the PKG file

Keep this pop-up window open, you'll need it for later.

Once done, in Vita3k, click file > install .pkg. Then select it what you just downloaded.

It will ask to verfiy the PKG, so you can select either work.bin OR zRIF.

If you chose work.bin: download the work.bin file from the game's pop-up in NoPayStation. then select it when prompted in Vita3k.

If you chose zRIF: copy the zRIF key from the popup window from before. (make sure you select the whole thing, it's quite long). Paste the key where prompted to in Vita3k.

The game should now install (if it hovers around 60-70% for a while don't stress)

Now, if you're installing either HDB or MB, keep reading, otherwise, you should be good to play the game :)

Inside Vita3k, right-click on the game you just installed, press Open folder > Application > data. Now replace the GAME.cpk with the one you just downloaded. (it has the english translation in it)

Close Vita3k again, then reopen it.

You are now ready to play Diabolik Lovers

Gatekeepers of the english fan-translation patch be damned. If Daisuke Iwasaki won't release an offical english version of Diabolik Lovers (and a Chinese one instead apparently 😭) then I'm emulating his damn game. I've bought a bunch of offical merch anyway, not like I haven't supported the company lol.

"Shh, it's just a nightmare.", said Jake next to you in the bed you shared. A drop of cold sweat ran down your forehead as you woke up while breathing heavily. You, still in panic, frantically looked around the room. Whatever you were having a nightmare about was still haunting you. It was etched on your face.

"Hey, hey. Look at me.", Jake added, placing his hand on your shoulder earning a panicked look from you. Which then softened, once met with his sweet gaze. His words laced with care.

"I- I thought-" The words coming out were a bit shaken up. You needed some time to calm down before speaking again. Running your hand through your hair Jake spoke.

"It's okay, take your time. I'm right here." Oh Eywa. How sweet he was, you thought. You took a deep breath and said again.

"I thought you were gone."

"You know I would never leave you. Ever.", he said with a soft voice. "You know that, right?"

"Yes, I know.", you replied, rubbing your sleepy eyes as your hair fell on your face a bit.

His gaze melted as he saw your vulnerable state. Your shut your eyes as you rubbed your temples to try and put your mind at ease.

"Got a headache, sweetcheeks?", he asked. His deep, husky voice sending a small shiver down your spine. Something that you could never get used to, but you definitely weren't complaining about.

He chuckled softly to himself. Something told you that he noticed your little shiver, but you focused on getting over this nightmare that so greatly haunted you.

"Srane." [Yes], you replied in a softer tone, your eyes still shut. Until they suddenly pried open, to yourself in Jake's arms, bridal style. It certainly caught you off guard but you eased into it a second later.

The woven hammock rocked just slightly. And the moonlight caused a darkness in the hut you both shared. It gave you comfort. Along with Jake's arms. His body radiated a warmth you wanted to surround yourself with.

As he laid on the hammock with you on top of him he let out a sigh of contentment. Without hesitation, your head gently rested on his broad chest. You could hear his steady heartbeat. It gave you tranquillity.

"What's on your mind?", he questioned while gently stroking your hair away so he could lay his eyes on your beautiful, azure face once again. "You said, you thought you lost me?"

"Why is that?", he continued, bombarding you with questions.

Your eyes still shut you responded, "I'm not sure, Jake." Your words come out with a big sigh of weariness. After the silence and his watch lurking on your face, searching for any emotion, you continue.

"I do not understand what I'm doing. I feel as if I make one foolish mistake and everything falls apart. This is what haunts me." Your mind starts to remember a few bitter memories from saying this, and your eyes begin to get glossier.

"Hey, hey, hey.", he whispered, cupping your chin softly to make you glance at him. "The only foolish mistake you making right now is not believing in yourself."

"Okay?", he asks, his gaze lingering on your lips more than your eyes for a second more.

"Okay."

Jake's eyes narrowed as he looked at yours, as you melt into his arms once again. He never got tired of feeling you in his arms. He felt as if Eywa herself made you how you are to fit perfectly into his hands.

Looking down at your face his lips curled into a smirk.

"I think I know how to make you feel better."

Nope, there is no official English version but you can find most of the routes translated on Tumblr, since luckily this community got some really great translators! ^^

I would recommend starting with HDB, the first game, to familiarize yourself with the characters and lore. There will be some inconsistencies, but nothing too bad. Also, the guys are all more jerky there, but don't mind them too much because time is rewinded in MB anyway, and they get better + become sweeter game by game.

Diabolik Lovers: Translation update #1

Hello everyone! As promised I would keep everyone updated on the project! The translating of @artiatrac and Isamaru has been going smoothly! So far they have translated the prologue, and have started on Shu's route.

The prologue has been implemented into the game!

In the meantime, I've also been working on image editing. I am able to edit all the in game images, however I've only finished a test image.

Hey there! i’m sorry for this but i didn’t know what else to do :( I’ve been playing Diabolik Lovers on my PC with the PSP Emulator and i cannot seem to find any dialovers games besides Haunted Dark Bridal and More, ablood :( i really wanted to play the rest of the games but i just can’t find it anywhere to download :( all the links i’ve seen don’t work anymore! I saw that the other games were made for PSVITA but even with that information i just couldn’t find it. Do you play the games on a emulator? If yes, how did you find them? Thank you for the translations btw i couldn’t have started playing without you <3

I'm afraid I won't be able to help you. I play all of my games on an actual PS Vita with real game cartridges. ^^;;

All of the games do have full playthroughs on Bilibili at least and since the actual gameplay is very minimal, I don't think watching a video of someone else playing or actually playing the game yourself will make that much of a difference.

I’ve been wanting to get into DiaLovers for a while now, but I’m not sure where to start. Got any guides, recs, etc?

oh boy!! this is so exciting, u have a journey ahead of u! >:D

The games are the real meat of the series, so if you want to get into something ACTUALLY good then I recommend watching/reading them in order. The anime adaption is very short and it can be a good first introduction to the characters and the general concept, but you're not even gonna get 10% of the plot. Starting with the anime is fine too (I think most people here did that, and I did too) but I really really want you to understand that it's not actually the best representation of what the games are like. imo, the anime stops before it gets good anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If it's good for anything, it's good for meeting the main characters and getting a pretty good idea of what kind of people they are.

But the games!! This is where the cool stuff happens! There's a lot of games, but some of them are mostly for fanservice so they're optional. The order of games is like this:

Haunted Dark Bridal (for PS Vita or Switch*) More,Blood (for PS Vita or Switch*) Vandead Carnival (fanservice game, for PS Vita) Dark Fate (for PS Vita) Lunatic Parade (fanservice game, for PS Vita) Lost Eden (for PS Vita) Chaos Lineage (alternate universe, for Switch)

*HDB and MB can actually be purchased together for the switch through the Grand Edition

If you're into sadistic vampire stuff, the games towards the beginning are more your style. If you're more interested in like......demon wars, consensual blood sucking, and getting these guys some therapy, then the later games are gonna be for you. There's a main plot throughout these games, so I do recommend going in order.

The thing that stops most people is that these games are in Japanese only. But never fear, because they are translated online! You can check dialovers-translations, for instance! She's working through all the games and is nearly finished with Lost Eden.

You can always just read those translations alone, but I think that the audio and voice acting is pretty critical to the quality of the series (I mean, it's like 80% of the experience lol). You can try searching for playthroughs online, but I don't really know where to find them...or you could just purchase the games yourself and play them, of course. I think the first two games are pretty easy to emulate online, too.

HAUNTED DARK BRIDAL - Download - PTBR ver.

Muito bom dia, boa tarde e boa noite para todos que leem este post, meu nome é Adri e eu serei a sua anfitriã nesse tutorial bem simples. De inicio eu já gostaria de agradecer a todos por estarem lendo e acompanhando as minhas postagens, obrigada mesmo, agora sem enrolação vamos ao tutorial.

Instalação do Emulador ->

Antes de tudo, para ser possível acessar o jogo você deve fazer a instalação do PPSSPP EMULATOR, que pode ser encontrado neste link: PPSSPP

Clicando no link, vocês se deparão com esta pagina

Cliquem no "Download" com o simbolo azul ao lado, essa parte depende bastante de seu tipo de computador

Se você tiver um Windows (o que é o meu caso), apenas instale a primeira opção dos instalers azuis, "Download PPSSPP Instaler", o download pode dar um erro, dizendo que o arquivo é noscivo, mas podem instalar de boa que não ira dar nenhum problema no seu computador.

Depois de instalarem, ira criar uma rquivo com o nome "PPSSPP setup" em seu computador, clique nele com o botão esquerdo do mouse. A próxima parte é bem simples, o programa apenas pedira uma autorização e logo em seguida iniciará o download do emulador.

Quando instalado ele irá aparecer assim em sua lista de aplicativos:

Instalação do Jogo ->

Agora a melhor parte! A instalação do jogo Haunted Dark Bridal, esta parte é bem simples.

Vocês irão pegar o arquivo do jogo neste link: Diabolik Lovers by Naoki (Link conseguido pelo canal fumicia).

Este link abrira está pagina no mediafire, podem instalar o arquivo, ele possui 1,1gb de tamanho.

Quando instalarem, ira ser criado um arquivo em zip no seu computador (vocês precisarão do Winrar para essa parte, mas eu acredito que a maior parte de vocês tenham o programa, se não tiverem me mandem mensagem no pv que eu ensinarei a instalar certinho), extraiam o arquivo em uma pasta de sua escolha.

Depois de extrairem o arquivo, irá criar uma pasta com o nome de "Diabolik Lovers", que é a onde o jogo estará.

Retornando ao PPSSPP, abram o aplicativo.

Eu já possuo o jogo instalado, mas ele não aparecerá sozinho no emulador. Para conseguir abrir o jogo pela primeira vez, cliquem na parte escrita "Carregar..."

Cliquem duas vezes na pasta "Diabolik Lovers"

Cliquem no arquivo com o nome "dlovers" e prontinho! O jogo vai abrir automaticamente na abertura querida de Haunted Dark Bridal!

O jogo esta completamente em japonês, mas possuem muitas paginas no tumblr que fizeram as traduções dos capitulos do jogo, a maioria está em inglês, eu, pessoalmente, utilizo da pagina Dialovers Translations que está 100% completa.

Guia de Controles ->

O emulador é um pouco dificinho de se mexer, já que se baseia nos controles do nintendo, ele possui um guia de controles:

Para o acessar, clique no "esc" do seu teclado, vá em configurações, controles e mapeamento de controles, você pode reconfigurar as teclas do jeito que gostar.

Para um tutorialzinho:

O "espaço" de seu teclado é o start do game, a onde você pode pular as cenas do começo do jogo como introduções e a musiquinha de inicio.

O "X" é o botão de selecionar, é a onde você vai clicar quando precisar selecionar algo como o botão de "start" que aparece no inicio do jogo, como também a onde você vai clicar quando for pulas as falas durante o jogo.

O "Z" é o botão de cancelar, a onde você vai clicar se quiser voltar para a tela inicial ou pausar o jogo.
