A tangle of limbs in a nice Italian suit.#I have such fond memories of watching the Lupin III movies with friends.#Actually...It's really touching to be able to draw fanart for the series. A homage to a special memory.#Thank you for giving me this opportunity! Seeing your icon (Goemon) has been a true treat in my notifs this last year.#Yes I was a Lupin fan this whole time! I started with part 5 so I am not a particularly old fan.#(I had a little bonus comic to go with this of the rest of the crew but I ran out of time to polish it up...perhaps another day.)#For everyone else; I highly recommend watching 'A Women Named Fuijko Mine'. Forever thinking about the art piece in Don Hertzfeldt's short film World of Tomorrow where a clone of a child is put into a tube in a gallery and you watch him age in real time until he eventually dies at the age of 72 then the exhibit is quietly removed without any notice.

#don hertzfeldt #i think his work isnt take so seriously because hes the spoon too big meme guy #but god the movies and shorts he has been putting out all have stuck with me for years #his stories are gorgeous and rich and deeply meaningful and heartbreaking #but i think people get put off by the visual style being intentionally simple stick figure type characters #he uses it masterfully though and the films arent held back by it at all and are incredibly creative visually #his films are stunning visually they have so much texture and life and it all comes together perfectly #i could gush about his work for hours

I Feel You Linger in the Air Ep 3

I just love what this show is doing with Jom, and how it has set up its central relationship. Since he got sent back in time, Jom has kind of been on autopilot, trying to adapt quickly to his new environment while he works out a way to get home. He hasn't had any time to process what happened to him on his last Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day in his own time. And so of course, seeing an alternate version of Ohm and his pregnant girlfriend here in this time would send him reeling.

I appreciate that the show took its time in this episode to let that breakdown build. Jom is still trying to wrap his head around seeing Ohm when he is inserted into a domestic dispute that gives him the opportunity to punish or protect Fong Kaew (he chooses neither), and then attacked and blamed by Ohm's avatar, Saen. I can't even imagine the levels of mindfuckery that would be, to have someone with your cheating boyfriend's face attacking you for not protecting his love. And so of course he freaks out, and then goes back to the water to beg to find a way home. And I don't just think he means he wants to go back to his own time; Jom wants to go back to the sense of home he had before all this confusing and life-altering shit started happening to him. More than a physical time and place, Jom wants his sense of security back. That’s the home he’s longing for.

Yai has been quietly observing him this entire time, and he can see the cracks forming. He has known from the start that Jom doesn't really fit here, even if he doesn't understand exactly what is going on. But he also knows Jom is important, at least to him, and so he is determined to protect him and keep him close. I love that Yai goes to check on Jom by the water, and that he sits down and invites him to unburden himself. Just like with the bracelet he gave him last week, Yai is trying to communicate that he is a safe person Jom can trust. And Jom must believe that, or he would not have poured his heart out and unleashed his sorrow in front of Yai, and allowed Yai to stay close and comfort him as he cried.

Seeing Jom toss his former couple bracelet into the water while the camera lingered constantly on his new one from Yai spoke volumes. And now Yai is pulling Jom even closer, moving him into his household and giving him a position of respect that will allow them to stay close at all times. I imagine it's only a matter of time before their bonds strengthen and they start figuring out what the hell is going on here together, and I’m glad that Jom will have some support as he tries to find his way home.

#I was talking to some buddies about lies of p and sekiro and how LoP’s defense as offense mentality helped get into sekiro #but then how sekiro overwrote that mentality with its own “offense is the best defense” mentality #or “hesitate and you lose” as Grandpappy isshin would say #and how the switch for the change for me was genichiro who I think is one of the best designed bosses in gaming #you CAN’T play too defensively with him because he’s happy to pepper you with arrows from a distance #and then the moment comes when you realize your sword interrupts his bow attacks sekiro truly begins as a game #lady butterfly is also a good fight but all her moves bring her to you so there’s less incentive to be as aggressive #vs genny baby who will back off and fire off his bow if you let him #this isn’t even like a video of me playing perfectly but I LOVE getting my feudal edgelord corner stunned and just bursting him down #I kinda hate the owl shinobi fight bc he hits too hard and his attacks just aren’t interesting to react to #but it’s also possible to corner stun him and just go to town on his health bar #owl father and inner father are much better fights and I actually really enjoyed inner father a lot #but the Ashina family fights are absolutely stunning achievements in game design imo #perfectly balanced to be difficult but fair and visually stunning to boot #even if there is a layer of artificial difficulty in the final battle with the flowers obscuring their swords when they’re crouched #but the animations are solid enough that there are enough other more subtle differences like how hes shifting his weight #if he’s centered he’s going to lunge but if he’s angled he’s gonna sweep #I had so much fun with LoP and sekiro 🥰🥰🥰 I crave more…#I can’t say the combat in Elden ring gorilla gripped me like these two games have but I like HAVE to play dark souls I know this #sekiro #tsuchi plays games

Muppet ass bird movie

#the boy and the heron was good! visually stunning #however. I think it falls into the same trap that everything since ponyo and arietty has fallen into #which is too many elements. the ‘rock’ was unnecessary. it should have just been more of a… crazy wizard guy found some way to alter the spo #spirit world/afterlife on his own? I think the element of accepting new family members was a bit lost.#the heron wanting to bring him to the spirit world would have been a bit more impactful if he had been the g.grand uncle in disguise?#parrots were a really fun element but using them as the end-villain was not satisfying #there was a chance to have the main character decide the end of the plot but that was just taken away from him #cursed with never remembering character names. but the plot I was expecting was a bit more mature with the pregnant aunt being asked to give #up her child to be the next wizard or something. like that’s why she was brought there. because the main character resisted so much so they #took the next youngest of kin to raise in the spirit world #man. that said the scenery surrounding the first pelican scene until they get the fish is like. directly from many dreams I’ve had

Most incongruous thing I've learned about Robert Evans in a long time is that he's a devoted musical theatre fan who loves Sweeney Todd, has a lot of respect for Stephen Sondheim, and has a lot of distaste for the disappointment that is Russell Crowe's performance in Les Miserables 2012
