SFW Alphabet - Champion Lance

SFW Alphabet - Champion Lance

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Lance’s language of love is words of affirmation. He loves to tell you how attractive you are, how good of a person you are, and anything else that he can think of. He’ll hold your hand, press his lips against your skin and just tell you any compliments he can think of.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

The friendship is subtle. He’s messaging you one day and then you don’t hear from him for the next three days, and then he’s bumping into you at the café and sharing a drink with you, knee bouncing with because of the caffeine intake. You don’t really know that you’re friends because he’s so elusive, but he makes sure that you do have his friendship with little favors, gifts, and whatnot.

He’s a very good best friend. He checks in with you whenever he has the time, he sends you little messages wishing you to have a good day, to take your meds and whatever else he can think of during the time. As a best friend, he always loves to see you, he’ll visibly brighten up and focus all on you.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

He loves to cuddle but he won’t cuddle when he’s trying to fall asleep- it get hot fast and while he gets the sentiment, he rather not deal with a sleeping arm when he wakes up. He does love to cuddle when watching a movie or a show.

He prefers when you lay on top of him. He likes having you between his legs with your head resting on his chest.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

He would love to settle down when someone else takes up the Championship. He doesn’t want to be stuck at old age defending his position. While he is proud of what he’s accomplished and loves being the Champion, he would like to just rest.

He’s a wonderful cook and cleaner. He enjoys cooking far more than cleaning.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

It’s straight to the point. There’s no beating around the bush, no “it’s not you, it’s me”, it’s simple, he tells you in a respectful way that for whatever reason the relationship just didn’t work out and he wishes you a good day and leaves.

He’ll meet you at your place. When you go to give him a kiss, he’ll take a step back and ask you to sit and he’ll just rip the Band-Aid off. He sees no point in trying to beat around the bush- it’s going to happen either way.

F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

He isn’t afraid of commitment. He’s not running at it with open arms, but if he feels that you are the one that he’s willing to spend the rest of the foreseeable future with, then he’s happy enough to ask for your hand.

That being said, you two would have to be dating for a long time until he’s actually ready. He’ll want to know that whatever you two have is real and that you two have been through a lot in order for it to be real. You’ll be waiting for years for that proposal to come, at least five, until he’s on his knee.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He’s a gentle man. He’s very aware of his feelings, aware of his strength and he doesn’t want to hurt you. It’s hugs that linger, hands that hold and squeeze onto you, gentle wipes of tears when you cry, burying his nose in your hair and closing his eyes when you just want to hug him and cry.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Lance’s hugs linger. They’re firm, and press you against his body, his hands roam down from the middle of your back until they reach the bottom and then run up and down again, slowing down until you’re ready to pull away. And even when you pull away, his hands run from wherever they left off to your sides, fingers brushing and wanting to cling onto you again.

If you’re hurting, he’ll hold you tight, and just let you let it all out while he just stands there, brushing your hair or humming to you.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It takes him a while to say the L-word. When you’re friends he’s telling you how much he appreciates your friendship, that he loves you but you feel how platonic it is, you hear the friendship in his voice, the way that he bumps into you with a carefree smile. It’s until he’s noticing you doing little things for him, bringing him sweets, buying a candy bar and teasing him because it has a dragon type on it. But then he notices your smile a bit more, he notices the way you look at him with admiration when he’s talking, when you hug, he doesn’t want to let go. And when you’re finishing a match and you have this smile of determination, your eyes narrowed with a glint he can’t quite place, he just knows and it scares him. SO he keeps quiet. And then it just blurts out one day and he can’t even look at you afterwards.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

He hardly gets jealous. He’ll roll his eyes or scoff if someone tries to flirt with you but he does have a limit and when that limit is reached, he’ll go over, place his arm around your waist and will glower down at the other person.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His favorite place to kiss you would be your forehead and hands. He likes to be kissed along his jawline.

His lips press gently against yours. It’s soft and it feels like a graze, but then it turns firm, a kiss that reminds you of when you were in middle school and your first partner just smashes their lips on you, but then it softens a bit, pulling away, with hands holding your wrists and slipping down to intertwine with yours. He pulls away slowly, lips lingering against yours.

L = Little Ones (How are they around children?)

He’s fine with children. All children love the Champion but he prefers the older ones- ones that know to be gentle and not be so intrusive with their questions. He knows they don’t mean harm, but he doesn’t want to answer such personal questions. Or repetitive ones either.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Mornings are tiring. He keeps himself on a strict schedule and while he doesn’t expect you to follow it, one of the routines is to open the blinds and let the sun in. On the bright side, he makes breakfast for the both of you.

On the rare days where he lets himself sleep in, he’ll still wake up early but he likes to just lay in bed and watch you sleep. He’ll trace your face, massage your hands- just about anything that he can do that doesn’t disrupt your sleep.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Nights go by so fast with him. He likes to sleep in early and because of that you sleep with him on occasion. It’s just nights where you two talk about your day, where you think about where you two could eat during the weekend, a place he’s been dying to try. Sometimes it’s nights where you two just lay in silence, taking in each other’s presence and reminiscing about the past.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Things are revealed slowly. You learn something new about him every once in a while.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Lance is very patient. He isn’t quick to anger, he’s one to think rationally rather than jump to conclusions. He has a few cues of when he’s starting to lose his tempers, like pinching the bridge of his nose, scoffing, etc. but for the most part, he is rather restrained.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He remembers a fair amount about you. He’ll slip on what your favorite restaurant is but he’ll remember what you prefer to eat. He slips on your favorite color but he knows what colors you dislike. He tries to remember what you like, but he isn’t a computer, he can’t be expected to remember everything about you.

He tries to remember what he can but he ends up forgetting sometimes.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

He really enjoys days where you play with his hair and let him rant. He loves how you detangle his hair, how your scratch his scalp and hum when he allows himself to just take it easy. It keeps him grounded. He’s able to just relax and let himself be pampered- even if it is just for a bit.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Lance is quite protective. You mean a great deal to him, he wouldn’t want you to get hurt. He knows you can hold your own but if you look scared and look at him for help he’s on his feet and glaring at the offender.

Lance is a rather intimidating person. He’s the Champion and he’s known as the Dragon Master. He isn’t one to be easily backed into a corner but when you stand in between him and the assailant, baring your teeth and spitting words of poison at the person, he can’t help but feel a bit proud. And if you believe that the assailant left because you came around and not because Lance was glaring at them, then who is he to ruin that for you.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He puts a fair amount of effort. He won’t buy hundreds of balloons and thousands of roses to prove his love for you, but he will purchase items for you. It’s more of the little things with Lance. He buys you your favorite candy, a plush of your pokemon, a t-shirt he say you eyeing the other day. Little things like that.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He keeps his feeling well hidden. He let it show that something has irked him until it boils over. While he does have ticks, he keeps is hidden and when the pot boils over, he’s out the door and won’t tell you what’s wrong until you have to sit him down and force him to talk to you.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He does like to keep up his appearance. He isn’t vain but he likes to make sure he looks good- not a hair out of place, no eye bags, clear skin- he wants to look good for the public. And if he were to have a blemish, it won’t be the end of the world for him.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

No. He’s sure of himself, he knows who he is and while he does love you, if you were to leave suddenly, through a break up, he would grieve but he knows that there is more to life out there than a significant other. He has friends, he has a family, he’s happy.

That’s not to say he wouldn’t be sad if you two were to split, but he wouldn’t let it consume his life. He won’t feel empty- he’ll feel whole again one day.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

He loves to sing in the shower. Put on any song and he’ll work his way through the lyrics. He’ll try to match the vocalist by either holding out on the notes, trying to reach their pitch or even the tone that they hold.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

He hates lies. He doesn’t mind little white lies, lies that don’t harm anyone, but when you lie to him about where you’ve been or anything that didn’t really need a lie, he begins to distrust you. What else could you have lied about?

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

Lance talks in his sleep. It’s incoherent, it makes no sense but it’s hilarious to hear say such nonsense. It isn’t loud talking in sleep, it’s low and you’re lucky if you can make out some words.
