Match Review: Manchester United Women 2-2 Manchester City Women
A draw's enough to secure top 3, which means UNITED ARE INTO EUROPE EYYY.

The stats don't lie. United were outperformed.
Just like with the Chelsea game, United faced a top 4 opponent and struggled under the weight of the fixture. We can argue we've had good results against City this season, but Keating having a mare isn't quite the United masterclass, is it?
United had the first chance; a clumsy scramble in the City box between the centre-backs and Galton and Terland, and while City had a fair effort on goal from Knaak, it was United's faulty build-up that killed chances off: a failed collection / heel hit from Terland, a heavy first touch cut-in from Bizet... little technical faults that halted a big breakaway.
City came close to taking the lead off a corner, with another Phallon launch Superman-style to punch the ball clear. It failed versus Chelsea, and only just succeeded versus City, but the resulting ball found Casparij and almost gave her goal of the season.

The visiting blues struck first near the end of the half through Laia Aleixandri; a 38th minute late arrival from the defensive midfielder to skip a couple of tackles on the edge of the box and put in a striker's finish to the bottom corner. Top class goal.
Another City break earned them a corner minutes later, and Knaak would get herself on the scoresheet and double City's lead with a powerful header. Watching the replay, she completely loses Gabby George her marker to weave towards front post and bury the cross.

Aoife Mannion, on for the injured (again) Jayde Riviere managed to whip in a great cross to back post in the box for Grace Clinton to get her head onto and nod on into the far post to make it 2-1 seconds before half time, and I think without that goal United sink without much of a trace.
Mannion did pick up a yellow just after that goal and before the half time whistle, and we know that later she got a second and was dismissed and... yeah. We'll get to that.
European hopes still alive, United went back out to battle. For me, City are really missing Shaw and Fowler. Kerolin, Park and Hemp are class, no doubting it, but they're facilitators and will take the extra touches. City lack a little decisiveness up top. A target, but also someone who'll take the plunge.
City came close to a third, with Grace Clinton almost deflecting into her own net, but minutes later and a United break would fall kindly to the head of Terland who would nod on to feed Melvine Malard's run and a careful shot beneath the onrushing Khiara Keating to make it 2-2.

Two games remain: Arsenal away, to decide 2nd and 3rd and which European qualification spot we each have, and the FA Cup Final at Wembley on the 18th. I still need to sort my travel out, oops.
It wouldn't be a United game though if we didn't have some stupidity. Old Trafford's buzzing, United are back in it, and Mannion clips the feet of Kerolin for trying to run past her. Mistake or not, it's a silly foul and one an experienced international shouldn't be making. Her lack of smarts could have cost United the result and top three/Europe.
United rode out the storm, and this player disadvantage does go someway to explaining the City stat-padding, though I feel they had the edge even 11 v 11, and that Skinnerball is lacking. Hey ho.
Below are the extended highlights, because I feel they're much better to understand the dynamics than the short 5 minute recaps. I will say though, it fucks me off NO END that the WSL youtube channel refuses to display the scores and game time on match highlights. Fucking idiots. CONTEXT IS IMPORTANT. End rant.

Luxury Invitations: The Art of Making a Grand First Impression

Your wedding or special event is more than just a day - it's an experience, a memory in the making. And what better way to set the tone than with an exquisite luxury invitation box? Gone are the days of plain paper invites that get tossed aside. Today, it's all about elegance, personalization, and making that first impression unforgettable.
Why Luxury Invitation Boxes?
An invitation isn't just a piece of paper - it's a preview of your event's grandeur. A luxury invitation box transforms a simple card into a keepsake, something so stunning that guests will cherish it long after the celebration is over. Imagine receiving a beautifully crafted silk, velvet, or linen box, wrapped in a delicate ribbon or adorned with an intricate brooch. Inside? A perfectly designed invitation card, perhaps with foil stamping, embossed lettering, or even monogram embroidery.
The Magic of Customization
Every event has its own story, and every invitation box should reflect that. That's why customization is key. With a range of colors, fabrics, sizes, and embellishments, you can design an invitation box that matches your theme, personality, and vision. Whether you prefer a classic silk folio, a romantic floral-embellished box, or a modern minimalist acrylic invitation box, the possibilities are endless.

Popular Customization Options:
Fabric Choices: Luxurious Thai silk, soft velvet, eco-friendly linen, or sustainable hemp.
Printing & Embellishments: Foil stamping, embossing, laser engraving, or hand embroidery.
Closures & Details: Elegant satin ribbons, decorative brooches, pearl embellishments, or crystal accents.
Custom Inserts: Velvet lining, silk pockets, or compartments for extra special touches.
Current Trends in Luxury Invitations
Just like fashion, invitation trends evolve. Here are some of the most popular styles in luxury wedding and event invitations:
1. Timeless Silk & Velvet Invitation Boxes
Silk and velvet exude luxury like no other materials. Their smooth texture and sophisticated appearance make them a top choice for high-end weddings, corporate events, and milestone celebrations. Choose from classic jewel tones, soft pastels, or rich neutrals for a regal touch.
2. Sustainable Elegance with Linen & Handmade Paper
For eco-conscious hosts, linen invitation boxes and handmade mulberry paper designs are becoming increasingly popular. These sustainable materials offer both beauty and environmental responsibility, proving that luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand.
3. Acrylic & Laser-Cut Invitations for a Modern Twist
For those who love contemporary design, acrylic invitation boxes and laser-cut cards offer a sleek, futuristic appeal. Personalized monogram engraving on acrylic adds a truly bespoke touch that's both stylish and sophisticated.
4. Opulent Embellishments: Brooches, Ribbons & More
What's luxury without a little sparkle? From hand-placed crystals and rhinestone brooches to custom embroidered initials and wax-sealed envelopes, embellishments make every invitation feel extra special.
Beyond the Invite: A Keepsake to Treasure
One of the biggest advantages of luxury invitation boxes is that they're not disposable - they're keepsakes. Unlike traditional invites that get discarded, a well-designed invitation box is something guests will hold onto, display, and treasure. It's not just an invite; it's a memory in itself.

Perfect for Any Occasion
While luxury invitation boxes are a staple in weddings, they are also ideal for:
Corporate events - Impress VIP guests with premium invitation packaging.
Gala dinners & charity balls - Elevate your event with high-end, bespoke invites.
Luxury brand launches - Create buzz with custom-branded invitation boxes.
Anniversaries & milestone celebrations - Make any special event even more memorable.

Finally, small touches like a linen napkin tied with twine or a hand-painted wooden sign with a charming quote would complete the cozy, inviting farmhouse look. 12. Include small touches like glass votive candles with sand and seashells inside, evoking the serene rhythm of the beach. Mix in vintage-inspired ceramic plates with soft blue accents and a few nautical elements, such as rope napkin rings or sea glass pieces. Add subtle touches of whimsy with bunny-themed porcelain figurines, but keep them refined with elegant textures like porcelain, crystal, or silver. Take away: A delicate lace table runner can add an ethereal touch, and soft candlelight will lend warmth to the sophisticated, festive atmosphere. 14. Layer this with a simple linen runner in an earthy tone, like soft beige or sage green, to maintain a natural aesthetic. Complement the wood with cascading greenery such as eucalyptus, ivy, and ferns in vintage glass bottles or clay pots. Consider adding a few hand-thrown pottery pieces to tie in the rustic theme.
