"I don't know!" Benjamin exclaimed, exasperated. "Anne, if I knew what this was -- if I understood what I felt -- we would not be knee-deep in our own sin." Dragging a hand through his loose hair, he huffed, shaking his head. "You cannot presume to know my desires any more than I can. Or..." Here, he eyed her closely. "Perhaps you are afraid of what I might feel."
Anne was immovable. “You deserve someone like Sarah. Someone who can care for you, w-who can take care of you, keep you safe. Not someone like me. I-I have only ever caused you hardship. And pain."
"Why are you speaking for me?" Benjamin challenged. "I may be painfully transparent at times, but I don't think you have access to the innermost workings of my heart, Anne. You cannot tell me I deserve Sarah when it is not Sarah I want!" He huffed, frustrated. "And what in God's name do you mean, 'keep me safe?' Safe from what?"
“Ben, I beg you...” Anne's words were soft, plaintive, and despite the anguish in her eyes, he only felt all the more frustrated. “Please stop saying things that only make me want you more. I cannot bear it.”
"What is there to contemplate if we both have the same affliction?" Benjamin demanded. "If we both have this ache, this yearning, why must we cast it aside?"
Anne's expression grew pinched and anxious, almost as if she'd just swallowed a bitter tonic. “We should... We should speak about this another time. Under better conditions. When we both have a clearer head.”
"I've never been clearer-headed in my life," Benjamin countered, jaw tight, "but you're right...there is a time and place for such confessions, and here and now is not the proper instance."
Anne never once lifted her gaze from the ground. Tears welled up in her eyes, bright and mournful as she twisted her hands. "You ought to speak to Miss Pleinsworth," she entreated. "Tell her whatever it is you must to not break her heart, and... should you still feel the same way about me in a week's time, then maybe..."
Benjamin's breath caught and he nodded, rolling his lips inward. "I'm not a man who readily changes his mind," he softly reassured, "but I'll do as you wish."
"I will call for a maid to chaperone the rest of your visit with Lady Sarah. Good day, Mister Tallmadge."
"Good day, Miss Wynter," he murmured, taking her cue and falling back into their old formality. He thought of cupping her face between his shaking hands -- of claiming her mouth in an effort at proving his affections, of stealing her breath -- but instead, he merely offered a clipped bow and turned to excuse himself.
--
The following fortnight was...odd. Although Benjamin didn't see Anne nor the Pleinsworth girls since that fateful day, he certainly noticed the looks he received while traveling amidst the ton. They weren't particularly kind looks either, so a part of him feared that they knew -- that they suspected his feelings for Anne, and how he'd heedlessly broken Sarah's heart.
The girl was understandably beside herself when he'd relayed his intentions. She just couldn't understand what had gone wrong -- Have we not been having fun? -- and after she nearly burst into tears, Benjamin excused himself and from that moment forward, he hadn't set foot in the Pleinsworth manor again.
On that particular afternoon, Gregory pleaded and wheedled with him during their lessons to go down to the pond on the Bridgerton property. At first, Benjamin was opposed. It was a beautiful day, yes, but he knew Violet -- or worse yet, Anthony -- wouldn't approve of Gregory lazing about instead of finishing up his lessons. Yet after proving he'd done an exceptional job in memorizing his latest poetry assignment, the weary tutor caved and he followed his pupil down to the pond.
Upon their arrival, Benjamin was bemused to find that Gregory wished for him to go for a swim, as well.
With a nervous little laugh, he shook his head. "Oh no, I think not," he denied. "I didn't bring swimming attire of any kind."
"So?" Gregory fired back, folding his arms. "Just go in as is! We have towels and blankets and a fire that can warm you afterwards, I promise!"
Benjamin sighed. The boy was quite good at getting what he wanted -- damn his inability to tell children no! -- and with a sheepish smile, he nodded. "Fine," he agreed, "but I will not impose upon your brothers' hospitality. I'll remove any garments so that I won't have to borrow anything."
Gregory gave a faux salute. "As you wish, sir," he said, his voice sounding a bit sing-song. "Go ahead and go in. I think I dropped something out of my picnic basket, so let me go check real fast. I'll be right back!"
Before Benjamin could argue, the boy turned and sprinted up over the hill. Sighing, Benjamin shrugged and set to work on disrobing. The early afternoon air was pleasantly warm and tranquil, and despite the slight chill from the water, it didn't take terribly long to acclimate as he waded in. In truth, he hadn't swam or had any bloody fun since before the war.
A melancholy smile touched his mouth at the thought, and just as his mind started to be transported back to simpler times, he heard gleeful, girlish laughter, and whirled about in order to behold...
Tumblr media
"Miss Wynter," Benjamin spluttered. With his waist-up fully exposed, he panicked and quickly submerged himself until the water was covering all but his head. On shore, he noticed Gregory and Sarah -- damn them! -- grabbing his clothes and making a mad dash for the hills.
"Stop!" Benjamin called, his teeth gritting. "Gregory, I demand that you bring those back!"
God help him, had it been so long since his days of mischief that he hadn't even recognized a prank in clear development?
“You like Sarah. And you like me.” She shook her head, trying to make sense of it all. “But you speak as if they’re different. Are they not the same thing?" Looking up at him with furrowed brows, she continued. "You like Sarah, but not enough to love her, nor to marry her. But you like me enough to... what? Kiss me? Marry me? No... you're merely blinded by your own desires. As am I.”
Anne knew she was not worthy of love, especially his. She could devote her entire life to loving Ben and it would never be enough. It would never be the level of love he deserved, and yet she couldn't bear to think of anyone else loving him the way she did. “You deserve someone like Sarah. Someone who can care for you, w-who can take care of you, keep you safe. Not someone like me. I-I have only ever caused you hardship. And pain."
I never wanted Sarah. Anne stared at him incredulously. She'd suspected--hoped-- that what he was saying were true. A part of her had hoped that his interest in Sarah had merely been a ploy to make her jealous. A ploy that had certainly worked. But to hear it from him, made her head spin.
"We're both fools." For thinking they could ever stay away from one another. For thinking they could ignore the spark between them. For thinking a union between their hearts could ever end happily.
I just needed an excuse to talk to you. To touch you. She nearly lets out a whine of impatience. The more he spoke, the harder it was to imagine herself ridding herself of him. She'd gone nearly thirty years without his presence, and now it was hard for her to think of another month without his smile to warm her thoughts. She was sick, his sheer existence a plague upon her heart. To allow herself to love him would be welcoming heartache and yet pain had never been so tempting.
“Ben, I beg you,” Both hands rose to her head, brushing loose strands of hair out of her face as she silently pleaded with the universe to show her mercy. “Please stop saying things that only make me want you more. I cannot bear it.”
His apology hits her like a stray bullet, searing and stinging from any underlying implications. They were both pining for something that would never reasonably work. Especially not now that he'd made it seem as though he were interested in Sarah. If he stopped courting her, the Pleinsworth girl would surely recover. She had plenty of possible suitors to pursue, but it would also mean that Anne would have no chance. If Ben ceased his courtship with Sarah and then proceeded to spend his time with Anne, it might be enough to get her fired. It might be enough to get her exiled again.
“You have nothing to be sorry for. I'm the one who ruined things.” And it was true. If either of them had to be sorry, it was Anne. If she hadn’t said the things she did, when she did and the way she had, he wouldn’t have gone after Sarah. Would he? If she hadn’t been so careless with her words, she might’ve been able to care for him with less guilt. If she hadn't been so terrified of feeling something for someone else, things might not have turned out this way.
The way her name sounds on his lips is addicting and she can’t help but wonder what it would sound like as lovesick moans. Even despite the aching in her chest, she still wanted him. She wanted him in every way a woman could want a man and it pained her to know that she might never be allowed to have him in such a way. They would never be free to love one another, not in the way they both deserved.
“Fate may have it that way, but that doesn’t mean it’s what I want.” She doesn’t realize she says it out loud until she hears the words reverberating through the corridor. If it wasn't putting both of them at risk, she might've taken the plunge. If loving him didn't mean putting him in danger, Anne might've risked her job, her livelihood for the chance at happiness. But the idea that being with her could possibly place him in any crossfire of George's vengeance was too much to endure.
“How do you still manage to be so utterly charming even now?” Frustrated, she let out another sigh. A part of her wishes she’d met him as Annelise, as a far bolder and less broken person. She might've been worthy of him then, when her heart was full and willing to be offered up to the first man to show her kindness. Now, however, her heart was withered and worn, bruised and frayed from a life of inconsistencies. He deserved a better heart, a heart with every ounce to give. He deserved things that she couldn't give to him, no matter how much she wanted to.
“We should... We should speak about this another time. Under better conditions. When we both have a clearer head.” She sniffled, willing the tears to cease. Anne kept her gaze pinned to the floor, worried that meeting his gaze would only weaken her resolve, that she would only be tempted to pull him back to her and never let go. "You ought to speak to Miss Pleinsworth. Tell her whatever it is you must to not break her heart, and... should you still feel the same way about me in a week's time, then maybe..." She didn't know what she was saying, nor what she was implying. Shaking her head, she tried to rid herself of the idea. It was preposterous and illogical. And entirely enticing. "I will call for a maid to chaperone the rest of your visit with Lady Sarah. Good day, Mister Tallmadge."

a few months ago i helped a friend pull together some representative-seeming history of sexuality syllabi to help them argue for credit transfer. i accidentally found this delightful one from the one and only margot canaday, and i’ve become totally captivated by this assignment:
Select an established historian of sexuality and read their “canon.”  Write an intellectual biography describing what you see as their central preoccupations, methodologies, and contributions.  What are the questions their work raises and does not answer?  How do they exemplify (or fail to exemplify) the broader development of the subfield?  What is the relationship between earlier and later work?  Note that in order for this exercise to be successful, you will need to select someone who has written at least two books and several articles in the field.  (See me for suggestions.)
i’ve been thinking about this in the context of several popular (left theory) reappraisals i’ve watched happen over the past few years--not necessarily a new approach, but definitely something i’m noticing, not as much in the form of a zeitgeist (although the most recent zeitgeist around ep thompson has interested me) as personal scholarly preoccupations. the biggest example in my mind is sophie lewis picking up firestone as a kind of duty and personal dedication, and lewis does this kind of long-arch marxist reappraisal intellectual biography a lot. this piece on lillian faderman, for example, which i didn’t like--i almost never like anything at the baffler, awful editing--but which is essentially good work. gabriel winant’s work on barbara ehrenreich is another great example. winant does a lot of really i think field-shifting reappraisal of thompson, but ehrenreich is really his blorbo. i’m totally blown away by his ability to pick up one of the most well known public intellectuals of our time and force us to look at their body of work in its context, asking brand new questions--can’t even describe it. “a place to die” is the name of the article he primarily does that in, it’s one of the works of history that has impacted me the most. that’s kind of the work i’m imagining can come from the prompt above--that and something like an intellectual biography. that, and the introduction of gayle rubin’s deviations, which is like...one of my favorite things i have ever read. the way she tells us the story of her own work in its own times is such a treasure, in part because her way of historiciizing her own thinking serves as an emulation of the project of particularizing social life that her work was doing. it’s very clever. i think also of katherine mckittrick’s work on sylvia wynter, and certain (non philosopher) traditions of writing about your mentors--robin kelley on cedric robinson, for sure. there were some other scholars who did some interesting work on betty friedan, but i can’t think of them.
i’m thinking of chasing after this: who are the thinkers i am compelled to reevaluate, but who i also really love, enough to become their keepers? with the kinds of big bodies of work that require keeping? (margot canaday is an excellent example of a scholar whose intellectual biography i’m fascinated with, who i adore, and whose work i think is underratedly important, but who, because of the conditions of the institution under which she w,orked, has no “body of work” to speak of.) who are the thinkers that i keep finding myself thinking, nobody really knows what they were about, or up to?
i’m very interested in this approach to historians, who don’t get approached like this very often, and who, over the past twenty years or so, have stopped producing bodies of work [structurally] as such. charles and louise tilly come to mind since their appearance in rubin’s autobiographical notes (whole side interest on the intellectual couples biography--the other one that has for some reason always hung me up is joan ockman and robert slutzky). old public school laborists--sidney fine is probably the most bizarrely forgotten labor historian, i have an attachment to him because i came across him early (since he wrote about flint). leon fink and dorothy sue cobble--basically people whose work show us something about an extinct relation between labor thought and public education. historians who were able to produce criticism alongside their monographs (other than just as timely pegged promotions of their monographs...)
i have a lot of this already with architecture thinkers--venturi and scully maybe obviously, but particularly charles jencks, who i became quite obsessed with when the public was looking toward “late modernism” and found themselves very wrong about both skyscrapers and what jencks said. i still think i love him, as a writer, more than almost any of them. above all though, insanely, and i think really getting at the heart of this prompt, are the critical/cultural turn/media studies 90s-on capital-T Architectural Theorists that nobody will even touch: beatriz colomina, reinhold martin (who has produced the most writing of anyone that i’d describe as “exactly the book i want to write exactly how i wouldn’t write it”) and, more than absolutely anyone, sylvia lavin. she’s one of the most powerful thinkers in architecture but the self-consciously populist critics loathe and ignore her, no one cites her, no one outside of MIT reads her, and everyone thinks she’s a huge bitch. sylvia lavin is one of only a handful thinkers who published something that fundamentally changed everything i thought about everything (outing that venturi and scully both lied about the antennae on guild house, which she says is the foundational myth of postmodernism). i would really love to understand everything she’s written, and how it came to be. also uncover the truth about whether she fired charles jencks from ucla (my white whale). also to say something stupid and insane like “actually she was a materialist. here’s why.”
but there is one figure above all else, the most important and famous and widely assigned and influential culture writer of the second half of the 20th century who absolutely no one seems to ask any questions about, or really know anything at all about, or be able to summarize in any comprehensive way, or make any claims about: rosalind krauss! with the distance of being outside of her discipline, and in a historical moment where lacanians are kind of camp, and also kind of in need of defending from us (marxists), i may decide to become a rosalind krauss guy.

A lot of people are talking about Addison's name in Zombies and how it might mean something about her identity. Here's my take on that.
The zombies all have names that either start with Z (Zed, Zoey) or where Z holds a prominent place (Eliza, Bonzo). The wolves are the same but with W (Wynter, Willa, Wyatt).
So my first thought was, why aren't the humans names based around H? Addison could have been Hannah, or Heather, or some other H name. Same with Bucky and Bree and the 'aceys. But their names all start with a variety of letters.
What this makes me think of is how whiteness and straightness (for example) are the "defaults"--that unless it's otherwise specified, characters/people in general are assumed to be white/straight etc. So there is automatically more variety in what we expect from those demographics while the minority groups tend to be lumped together based on one or two traits.
So basically, zombies and werewolves are given names based around their identity because it's the biggest part of their personalities. But the humans get more varied names because the fact that they're human isn't on the forefront.
Whether the writers did that based on their own unconscious biases, or did it consciously to make that exact point, the world may never know.
Anyway that's my two cents~

Have a name survey because these are always fun.
Boys
A Andrew vs. Aaron Alan vs. Alexander Aiden vs. Adam B Brennan vs. Brayden: Both of these are awful but I guess I gotta pick. Brandon vs. Braxton Bentley vs. Brimley C Cayden vs. Camden: Again, both equally cringey for me. Cole vs. Cameron Cade vs. Chandler: Chandler is a cute name for a girl, but I have a bias for Chandler Bing too hahaha. D Denver vs. Dallas Deklan vs. Dylan: I prefer the spelling Declan, though. Also, I technically like Dylan just a little bit more and would have picked it, but I like it for a girl. My sister had a classmate named Dylan and it sounded really good on her. David vs. Dennis E Ethan vs. Ezra Eitan vs. Elijah Emmanuel vs. Eden: Again, I prefer the name Eden for girls.
F Fabio vs. Ferdinand: I very hesitatingly picked Fabio hence the italics, but I very much dislike both. This is also what I’ll be doing for the rest of the names on here. Finnegan vs. Finley Fernando vs. Frankie: For the millionth time, Frankie is cute for a girl (this is where y’all really see that I prefer daughters more HAHAHA), and this is also because there’s a local singer named Frankie that I really admire.  G Gavin vs. Gus Gumby vs. Gerrick George vs. Grant H Harper vs. Harley Hayden vs. Henry Harlow vs. Hank I Ian vs. Ivan Indigo vs. Iris: Can I just say these are both better off as girl names? Indiana vs. Iris: And these, too?
J John vs. Jericho Jacob vs. Jameson Jasper vs. Jedidiah K Kayden vs. Koa Kent vs. Kyle Kevin vs. Konner: I prefer the spelling Connor, though. L Lars vs. Liam Levi vs. Lance Lester vs. Lorenzo M Michael vs. Matthew Maverick vs. Mason Madison vs. Micah N Nolan vs. Nathan Niko vs. Nathaniel Nicholas vs. Nate: I honestly like both. I can go with naming a son Nicholas then giving them Nate as a nickname. O Ocean vs. Oscar: I hate nature names and Oscar screams old-guy-name to me. Sorry to all the Oscars :( Orville vs. Otis Otto vs. October P Patrick vs. Percy Preston vs. Paisley Parker vs. Passion Q Quincy vs. Quinn Quada vs. Quinten Quailen vs Quidditch R Raven vs. Riley Rowan vs. Rod Ray vs. Roy: I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to Roy cos it’s an occasional nickname Gab’s dad uses. S Skylar vs. Scott: Only because a high school classmate named her kid Schuyler and that baby is seriously adorable, bubbly, and well-behaved. Storm vs. Steven Sorin vs. Solomon T Trevor vs. Travis Todd vs. Taylor Taytum vs. Tanner U Ulysses vs. Uman Umbo vs. Uno Utah vs. Usher: I dislike most geographic names, but I’d rather I name my baby Utah then have them be sang sex-themed songs by Usher by meaner kids throughout their childhood lmao.   V Vance vs. Vincent Vern vs. Vayde Vernon vs. Vayden W Walter vs. Wyatt Wade vs. Winter Wallace vs. Whisper X Xenon vs. Xayden: I really wanted to pick one name for each question, but being stuck between a chemical element and a name ending in -den is an easy no to both for me. Xayler vs. Xavier Xandon vs. Xennan Y Yvonne vs. Yonder: These names are getting more awful now that we’re ending dude, lmao. Yuletide vs. Yasser Yancy vs. Yancer Z Zeeland vs. Zayden Zion vs. Zenon Zander vs. Zenner
Girls
A Acacia vs. Alexa Aurora vs. Annalise Avonna vs. Alessandra B Brogan vs. Brooklyn Bianca vs. Brigitta Bailey vs. Brynn C Carlotta vs. Christine Cheyenne vs. Cescily Cecilia vs. Cassidy D Diedra (pronounced Dee-ay-druh) vs. Delilah: But I prefer the spelling Deirdre. Devia vs. Daytona Dakota vs. Darcy E Evonna vs. Eliana Emerald vs. Evangeline Eden vs. Eliza F Felicity vs. Fiona Faith vs. Faye: Both have always been on my blacklist for girl’s names, sorry lol. Flavia (pronoucned Flah-wee-uh) vs. Flora G Grace vs. Gretchen Genesis vs. Galaxy: Please don’t make these names happen. Gabriella vs. Greta: I love both names and have always liked the name Greta because of Greta Garbo, but I’m obviously biased towards my girlfriend so Gabriela/Gabriella it is. H Harper vs. Hope Holly vs. Hailee Harmony vs. Harvest: Again, both cringe material but I guess Harmony makes me cringe juuuuuuust a little less. I Imogene vs. Ivy Isabella vs. Iris Irene vs. Ingrid J Jessica vs. Jacinda Jade vs. Juniper: Juniper would be cute if a baby can stay a baby forever lmao, but I’m generally not a fan. Joanna vs. Joy: But I like the spelling Johanna more. K Kaleidoscope (Kallie for short) vs. Kaylee: Can I just pick the nickname? I hate the other two options :(( Kennedy vs. Kendall: I’d pick both, but thinking as a future mom, I wouldn’t want my daughter to be mercilessly teased for being given a name that’s usually understood to be more masculine in nature. I know we’re all about breaking stereotypes and all, but y’all – realistically, kids can be pretty fucking cruel. Katelyn vs. Katrina L Lacey vs. Linsey Lynnea (proncounced Lynn-ay-uh) vs. Liberty Lara vs. Lola M Morgan vs. Madison Mackenzie vs. Miranda Marissa vs. Monica N Nora vs. Natalie Nevaeh (pronounced Nev-ay-uh) vs. Nicole Niki vs. Noelle O Ophelia vs. Ocean: Only picking Ophelia because I’m generally not a fan of nature names, but there are a lot more better options if I wanted to name my kid after Shakespeare plays, like Beatrice or Emilia. Olivia vs. Onna Opal vs. October: Was never a fan of gemstone names, and there are much better month names than October. P Passion vs. Primrose: I feel the same way for Primrose as I do with Juniper. Mostly cute with babies, but is less cuter on grown-up girls. Penelope vs. Pixie Pandora vs. Palace Q Quintessa vs. Quincy Quaila vs. Quilala (Kwi--lah-lah) Queen vs. Quiencia (Kwee-ence-ee-uh) R Reyna vs. Riley Rosanna vs. Rosemary Rhonda vs. Rodica (Roe-dee-kuh) S Skylar vs. Skye Serena vs. Simone Shailey vs. Sienna T Tessa vs. Taylor Tia vs. Tiana Taytum vs. Trixie: Tatum would be a better spelling. U Una vs. Uta Ulyssia (You-liss-ee-uh) vs. Umba Ula vs. Ursula: Only because it can be a Friends reference lol. V Violet vs. Vylette Veronica vs. Victoria Valencia vs. Valerie W Wynona vs. Whitney: Winona > Wynona, but still. Wynter vs. Whisper Willow vs. Wanda X Xaila vs. Xara Xana vs. Xenon Xavier vs. Xena Y Yasmin vs. Yvonne Yvette vs Yolanda Yori vs. Yaya Z Zayara vs. Zion Zayana vs. Zoey Zen vs. Zara
Final questions!
Your name (first and middle): Robyn Isabelle.Do you like it?I hated the name Robyn throughout my childhood because I always got teased about it. When I got to college and everyone just kinda matured and told me they liked the way my name flowed, I ended up warming up to and loving it.What your parents almost named you:I was almost named Ariel after the Disney princess, and I know my parents were also thinking of naming me Katrina/Katherine/Kaitlyn.Your favorite girl's name (first and middle):Olivia. I don’t have a pick for middle name yet.List five unique names of girls you have met:Shauna, Shontrice, Unila, Ciamae, Rheezan.List five girl's names you don't like:I mostly dislike in-your-face weather/nature names like Winter, Snow, Amethyst, Cloud, Gaia, or Daffodill. But some, like Cheyenne, Rose, and Luna are super cute, too.List five girls name you really like:I’ve done this like 10 times on 10 different surveys but I like names such as Olivia, Elizabeth, Mia, Ava, and Isabella.Your first best friend's name:Kaye.Your siblings names:Nope. The name of the first pet that you loved:Tobi, my pet rabbit. What you would be named if you were the opposite gender:I’ve never asked my parents about this, actually. They’d probably go with a Spanish/Hispanic name, seeing as they went with Joaquin for my brother but were also thinking of naming him Diego.

First Meet (Avery)
Time: 1 hour 1 Minute
Word Count: 1120
Song: Flesh and Delusional By Simon Curtis
Warning: Violence, Crying, Almost Rape
Avery Belongs to @slashesotron
He saw this woman earlier today. She was riding with the paramedics in the A Car. A worried look on her face, she stained her glasses with her tears. He only just met her and already, he didn’t wish to see tears on that pretty face of hers. He wanted to make her happy, but right now. Now’s not the time for him to be fonding over this women.
He needs to think about his job and help out her friend, although he’ll be stealing some glances from her while doing so. When arriving at the hospital. She frowned, getting up to follow after them. “Ma’am.” The blonde placed a hand on her shoulder, she looked up at the tall man.
It broke his heart to see tears in the corner of her eyes. He wants to kiss her so badly, wanting to tell her everything will be okay while holding her body close to him. He had to restrain himself, this is gonna be a long day for him. “He’ll be fine, I’m sure of it.” “W-What if he isn’t?” She sniffled, trying to wipe away the upcoming tears. He can’t hold back from hugging her. This surprised her, the hug was unexpected. Not like she cared, she hugs him back. Just taking her glasses off to cry on him better, she can’t help but just worry for her friend.
He could’ve died from that seizure, thank goodness she tried to help him out the best she could. “Everything will be alright…” He rubbed his hand on her back, his chin resting on top of her head. He knows he needs to go back to work, he can’t help but just hold her for a moment.
“Thank you.” She seemed to be a little better now. Having to pull away from the hug to clean her glasses. “It’s fi-”
“Oi! Wynter! We have to go.” One of his colleagues called out to him. He sighed. Not now, of all things. He just met the love of his life!
“I should let you get back to work.” She placed them back on. Giving him a thoughtful smile. She felt better after crying. “Maybe I’ll see you later? Or tomorrow?”
He didn’t even have time to respond! His coworkers had to rush him back to the A car to leave. He glanced back at her, she simply waved at him then went inside the hospital. Damn!
…….
It’s late at night, he was off now. Avery wanted to find her but figured she probably left. He needs to find her. He was devastated then learning she left earlier. Now, he was outside. Getting ready to drive home and think of meeting her tomorrow. He hopes he doesn’t have to help out anyone just to get a few moments of her time-
“Help!” Avery snapped out his train of thought. That voice? It sounded- “Please! Let go of me!”
“......” He didn’t look too happy, he knows it's her voice, she just sounded scared and pleading for help. He quickly went over to where he kept hearing the voice. Speed walking over, he can figure he was close to her. He heard the sound of someone’s clothes being ripped apart.
This just got his blood boiling. He practically ran over to where she was, when entering the alleyway. His eyes almost widen, he saw her. On the ground crying. Glasses far from her, she had a slap mark on her face and thighs. The guy, who had her pinned to the ground. Ripped her tights, trying to rip her panties next. The dark haired female kept her face covered. “P-Please stop...I don’t want you being my first-” She then felt the weight of the man off of her. She didn’t lift up her head to even check to see if it’s safe to stand up.
She heard cursing, bodies slamming down on the asphalt. Sound of someone being punched, kicked repeatedly. Grunts of pain until there was so no more sound anymore. She sniffled, afraid to even stand up. “It’s okay, I dealt with him.” The guy's voice? It sounded so different now. It reminded her of the paramedic that hugged her earlier.
“It’s safe now.” She hesitated but nods a little. Taking her time to stand up. She nearly jumped when feeling hands near her face. He was slipping her glasses on her face. Her vision was a little blurry still from crying.
But she managed to recognize those freckles and the friendly smile to go with it. “I-It’s you...from earlier.” She glanced back down, he can tell how she didn’t feel so comfortable talking to him. She almost got rape just not if it wasn’t for him. “Th-Thank you for saving me.” She felt herself tear up again, that scared her so much.
Why do people do these things to others? Avery held out his arms for her. She quickly accepted his hug, silently crying on him. Second time today she was crying in his chest. Not that he was complaining, Avery didn’t mind wrapping his arms around her. And just hold her. He didn’t wish to let her go, no one can stop him from holding her at least.
She soon stopped crying, Avery glanced down to her. She wasn’t moving, he heard the small snores coming from her. Aww, she fell asleep on him! How cute. Well, when thinking about it. This is an easy way to get her home then him having to take matters into his own hands. He picked up the pretty gal and carried her to his car.
He unlocks the door. Going to place her down in the passenger seat, she clung on to him. Whimpering a little in her sleep. “D-Don’t...leave me.” She gripped his shirt, not wanting to be separated from him. He felt himself begin to smile, even in her sleep, she doesn’t want him to leave her. “I won’t leave you, you’ll be staying with me.” He got in the car, with her on his lap.
She simply snuggled up his chest, smiling in her sleep. Her eyes fluttered open for a bit. “Where we going?” She asked with a tired yawn following her. How adorable~
He locked the door. Putting the seat belt over the two. “Home, we’re going home.”
“Good...my names Akira, by the way.” She rested her head back on his chest. “Mine’s Avery.”
“What a cute name for someone like you.” She smiled again, closing her eyes. “See you in the morning, Avery~”
“Sleep well, my love~ <3”

Prologue-How they all met.
Small specks of cold danced across Rayn’s face, it was the twentieth snowfall of the year. His eyes opened to a familiarly distant landscape, one painted with an ominous white he wished that he didn’t have to remember. He knew that he had to move quickly to get to his cottage, he jumping to his feet, grabbing his hand-made bag and running further through the forest.
Once Rayn made his way to his usual spot- a clearing, he spun, surprisingly enjoying the snowflakes that landed on him. However, his calmness was broken when he felt someone’s eyes on him. Xe whipped his head around to see a figure, blinded by the snow, he called for them.
“Who are you? Show yourself!” Rayn had never encountered another person in these woods before, it made the hair on the back of his neck stand.
“I-I I need help!” The voice-presumably very young-replied in desperation.
Rayn didn’t lower his guard, but he stepped forward to see them. What he saw was a child in a thin cloak, buried to his waist in snow (the snow only got to rayn’s knees.) He stared for a moment, wondering how the child got there, he snapped out of it and helped the child up and out of the snow. The child was violently shivering.
“W-Wait! M-m-m-my mother-!”
Rayn looked down at his feet, there was a woman staring back up at him. Her eyes looked empty, but alive, there were frozen tears stuck to her cheeks and a newborn baby in her arms. The child that Rayn was holding squirmed and jumped out of his arms, he grabbed the baby out of the woman’s arms and buried it into his own clothes to keep it warm. Rayn knelt and tried to pick the woman up, her thin dress was partially stuck to the ice, but Rayn managed to free her. He and the child carried the two others, the child following behind Rayn.
The warm air of the cottage washed over the child bringing relief, he had saved his family! Rayn immediately set the woman on the floor beside the fireplace, propping her up with a small pillow. He watched as she turned her head to the warmth of the fire and smiled. Rayn turned his attention to the newborn; they were wrapped loosely in thin cotton. The child handed the bundle to Rayn,
It was dead cold.
Rayn’s stomach dropped; in a panic he unraveled the baby to check if it was still alive. The baby had a pulse fainter than the touch of a feather, but a pulse. Rayn placed his hands on the head, and the abdomen of the newborn, drawing them closer to himself. The moment the child was going to ask a question, he noticed a faint green glow coming from under rayn’s hands. The glow pulsed, and Rayn and the baby stayed there for what felt like hours. Finally, there was a small cry from the baby, and Rayn had succeeded. It was re-bundled in seconds and placed in the hands of the mother to stop the cries.
Days had passed since that frightening moment, the child had introduced him and his family, his name was Walter. The baby’s name was Wynter, and the mothers name was Cloe. They started to feel right at home, and for that reason, Rayn decided to let them stay. They became a sort of family, two friends raising two kids together! So, so many positive moments had formed in only a few days, like Walter and Wynter going tobogganing together on a hill, or the four of them frolicking in the moonlight together. The best part, Rayn didn’t have to feel so alone anymore.

Alrighty, I went through and narrowed the options down a bunch
As of right now, I'm torn between four three different options: Wardine Wolf, Winter/Wynter Wolf (god help me, idk which spelling of that I like more), Wrylie Wolf, and Francine Wolf
Logic under the cut, if anyone cares to check that out
For Wardine- it sounds very strong, 10/10 can imagine it being said in Roxanne's voice, and it's also a nod toward the fact that this character is an animatronic version of my girl, War (by having a similar name as her)
For Winter/Wynter- I could make her a white wolf and have the wall climbing zone be done up to look like snowy mountains, plus it comes with the additional "cold shoulder" pun (and probably a lot of other puns, too)
For Wrylie- it's strong sounding, I really like the way it's spelled a lot, and maybe it's a nod to parts of her personality (because of the "wry" bit)
For Francine- I'm hesitant because it goes against the "animal type and first name must start with the same letter" rule thing that I set up for myself, but it's strong while still sounding somewhat ladylike, overall "Francine Wolf" has a nice ring to it (but I'm not sure how I feel about "Franny Wolf" since that sounds like the name of an old person), and it's got a nice bit of contrast between the F and W parts; if that makes any sense, idk
**Since the explanation for Francine took so long and my feelings are still a little mixed, it'll probably be my last choice
I just did some more searching for W names, and now I've got: Wardine, Wendy/Windy, Winter/Wynter, and Wrylie
Also looked at F names too, just because. From there, I have: Fay/Fae, Fantasia, Felicity, and Francine
If the character is a fox and has a name that starts with F, she'll get a "friend factory", which is like build a bear. If she's a wolf and gets a name that starts with W, she'll get a (rock) wall climbing zone. If she's a wolf but gets a name that starts with F (therefore breaking my animal type and first name start with the same letter rule thing), then idk. Maybe she'll get both types of zones (should she??)
I typed out everything under the cut, that way we/you/(especially) I can see how it looks, so feel free to take a peek at that if you want. Again, it's just so that mostly I can see how things look, since sometimes that's what helps me come up with names

Statement / Reading & Being in Times of Pandemic
Tumblr media
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Amy White. I am reporting to you from what is at this point a decades-spanning inquiry, what I think of as a ‘matrix of thought’ surrounding questions of earth-based and/or mineral existence [the scope of which extends toward the cosmic and/or interplanetary]. Here, ‘earth’ serves as a metonym for literal physical dirt, rock, soil, and/or crystalline forms employed within this continuum of exploration that percolates [i.e., toward a diffusion of ideas through the above-noted paradigmatic matrix of thought that serves as a kind of sieve through which a sluice of particulate content passes toward a state of ever-greater complexity and refinement] within a context that I conceive of as the ‘Realm of the Static and the Vital’ – of which we are materially and/or otherwise a part. The overarching [working aka functional] title for this project is Minerality & Desire [Darwin, DNA & Dishes], all aspects of which occur under the auspices of The Association of Elemental Aspects – an ephemeral order over which I preside and of which I am the sole acolyte. Suffice to say that reading is a practice that occurs under such auspices to serve this ongoing and ever-expanding project.
Thus, you might imagine the perplexity I experienced when invited to offer a review of a [single] book for this communique. Suffice to say, I really do not read books one-at-a-time. Instead, I tend to amass clusters and stacks of texts that mutually interface and reinforce one another. In that spirit, I will provide a brief configuration of a recent relevant textual cluster. We start with an epigram that appears in Christopher Benfey’s culturally, historically and geographically [geologically] expansive memoir, Red Brick, Black Mountain, White Clay: Reflections of Art, Family and Survival (2012):
And is there any reason, we ask as we shut the book, why the perspective that a plain earthenware pot exacts should not satisfy us as completely, once we grasp it, as man himself in all his sublimity standing against a background of broken mountains and tumbling oceans with stars flaming in the sky?
The above quote is from a vital and enduring author, none other than Virginia Woolf, which turned out to be from a 1926 essay on Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe (1719), which I was then compelled to read and which I would [briefly] describe as a colonialistic fantasy of rebuilding [reinscribing, reifying] ‘civilization’ [white, male, Christian, capitalist] from whole cloth when shipwrecked on a desert island and otherwise as a how-to manual for same covering everything from shelter building to farming – the most salient activity from my perspective having to do with Crusoe’s pottery production.
I was then led to Michel Tournier’s 1967 Robinson Crusoe redux, Friday, an experimental rewriting of the novel that begins with an imagined Tarot reading aboard a ship in the middle of a raging storm at sea. My first clue that the book paid homage to Woolf was the ship’s name: ‘The Virginia’ – and later in Robinson’s memories of his former life [as crafted by Tournier] along the banks of the River Ouse. Neither of these details appear in Defoe’s original, and my intuition was confirmed when, with a bit of cursory research, I learned that the Ouse was the river in which Woolf took her own life by throwing herself in after filling her pockets with stones.
Friday ventures into Crusoe’s erotic interiorities, which evolve in direct relation to the island itself (christened ‘Speranza’ by the castaway) as an erogenous zone, culminating in earthly congress within a deep humid cave in which Robinson’s (and, later, Friday’s) masturbatory acts magically impregnate the island, giving rise to an efflorescence, literal floral emergence, from human seed. The site also provides the locus at which Robinson, outraged by the agency demonstrated by ‘his slave’s’ audacity in performing an act of unsanctioned, self-empowered sexual athleticism, exacts violence upon him in a fit of complex erotic jealousy and transparent white supremacist rage: He stood thunderstruck, contemplating the infamy taking place beneath his eyes. Speranza sullied, outraged by a Negro!
This brings me to a juncture [verging on fracture] at which I might wish to further share with you works such as Adelene Buckland’s Novel Science: Fiction and the Invention of Ninteenth-Century Geology (2013), which traces the evolution of literary styles employed in geological treatises and their seismic impacts on broader writing and thinking practices of the time – or John McPhee’s epic Annals of the Former World (1981), a doorstopper of a book that I read a few pages at a time each night as a means of placing myself in a mindset of geologic time, held in thrall both by the qualitative magnitude of McPhee’s prose and the expansive reframe:
The new mountains – the mountains of the Basin and Range – are packages variously containing rock that formed at one time or another during some five hundred and fifty million years, or an eighth of the earth’s total time.
Said juncture/fracture also thus impels me toward Kathryn Yussoff’s 2018 A Billion Black Anthropocenes or None, which identifies the erasure inherent in the discourse on the so-called Anthropocene, a construct that posits a new geologic era based on the narrative that ‘man’s’ imposition on the planet has obtained critical mass such that ‘our’ impact now registers on the mineral level – a downshift toward [‘self’-]annihilation. Yussoff exposes blindspots in that narrative:
If this project seems like a counterhistory of geological relations that is other to current articulation as a linear narrative of accumulation, then mine is certainly an attempt to open an investigation into that history and to the languages that carry the work of geology in the world (as resource, extraction, inhuman, chattel). The birth of a geologic subject in the Anthropocene made without an examination of this history is a deadly erasure, rebirth without responsibility.
Hanging in the balance, then, are the following texts, which are so searingly potent and timely that I can read them only in minimal chunks; psychic saturation is achieved after abosorbing the briefest of passages: Frank B. Wilderson III’s Afropessimism (2020); Sylvia Wynter’s (2003) essay “Unsettling the Coloniality of Being/Power/Truth/Freedom: Towards the Human, After Man, Its Overrepresentation— An Argument’ [these latter texts brought to my attention by the brilliant scholar Kim Bobier]; Ibram X. Kendi’s (2019) How to Be An Antiracist; and Timothy Snyder’s (2017) On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century.
Thus, our days here at the Association of Elemental Aspects are divided into categories of activity, beginning with the ritual of morning coffee w/ last night’s DVR’d news & diligent postcard writing [via postcardstovoters.org]; skeletal activation while communining with the tall trees out my back door [sentient embodiment practice]; editing academic papers (aka day job); and, as time and health allow, the above-asserted reading [along with ongoing making and writing practices, phone coversations, drinking water, and sustaining life as well as can be achieved at any given moment] – recognizing the need for active citizenship and understanding same as a mode not at odds with philosophical and/or aesthetic pursuits but rather one that must be cultivated, shared, amplified, harnessed, harmonized - during pandemic as we count down to the election in November – doing what we can to expose and counter authoritarian aspirations.

W. Schnee | RWBY
Muse Name: Weiss Schnee
Other Names: Snow Angel, Ice Queen, Miss Shcnee
Face Claim: N/A
Fandom: RWBY
Age: 18
Birthday: November 7th
Species: Human
Sexual Preference: Bisexual
Family: Jaques Schnee [father], Whitley Schnee [younger brother], Wynter Schnee [older sister],
Abilities:  Weiss has the ability of glyphs, which she can use for a variety of purposes in her training as a huntress.
History: Middle child to the Schnee family, Weiss is the youngest daughter, but she does have a little brother. As a young girl, she had a talent for singing and it became common for her to perform at galas and parties. She loved her parents, but her world began to crumble when her father admitted he was only married to her mother for the name. Weiss and her siblings were nothing more than pawns to him, though he liked to pretend that he was a good father when in public. The day she realized she could fight, she began to work on it more and more, which was how she received the scar on her left eye. The scar didn’t deter her from training, and when she graduated from the beginning academy in Atlas, she made the choice to continue her studies at Beacon. Most of the reason she chose Beacon was to get away from her father and his abuse and she wanted somewhere that would be familiar enough to navigate but not a drastic change in the climate she was used to. Upon arriving at Beacon, she was paired with one Ruby Rose, a huntress in training two years younger than her. She didn’t like it at first, questioning the choice of the headmaster who had given Ruby the title of leader, but over the course of year, she began to open up more and trust the girls she’d been paired with as teammates.
Then the fall of Beacon.
Bloodshed, fire, and fighting. Weiss was right there fighting with everyone else to defend her school - her home - but it was to no avail. When the smoke cleared and the largest Grimm of all was frozen on Beacon Tower, Weiss’ father showed up - acting concerned - and whisked her off to Atlas. Being back home did nothing for Weiss, and she hated the people around her. In her time away, she had learned about what was actually important and the socialites of Atlas only cared about the trivial things. Her father left her alone for the most part, but her brother suddenly wanted to play nice and act as if he cared, a move that Weiss was suspicious of from the moment it began. But she carried her own trauma and fears, her own doubts, and so she brushed the concern of her brother off. She was asked to perform at a charity event for Vale, and she chose a song befitting her relationship with her father. After the performance, however, things went awry. The useless talk of those around her annoyed her until a woman got very loud about how Vale deserved its attack. Weiss went off, accidentally sending a summoned Grimm at the woman, but the attack was stopped by General Ironwood, who agreed with Weiss and left the party. Weiss and her father argued once they returned home and her father announced that Weiss was being forced to hand her rights as Schnee heir to her brother, at which point Weiss knew Whitley had hoped for it. Being locked in the manor gave her time to focus and train, until she had her summon complete and asked for help from her trusted friend and the head butler, Klein. He helped her escape and she began her journey to Mistral. Facing obstacles of her own along the way, she was captured by bandits, only to be accidentally discovered by Yang. The girls confronted the leader of the bandits - Yang’s mother - and soon had answers to questions they hadn’t even thought to ask. However, Raven gave them the choice to go to Ruby, and Yang took it, Weiss joining her on her motorcycle and going through the portal to find Yang and Ruby’s uncle Qrow on the other side. They also found more answers with the full explanation on the power of the fabled four maidens.Being reunited with Ruby and what was left of her friends made Weiss instantly begin to relax, but they had a long way ahead of them.
They made arrangements to get the Spring Maiden, but it was thwarted by Cinder and her pupils - along with others who followed the true mastermind behind the attacks on the schools. When Yang managed to get the Relic of Knowledge, the group decided to make their way to Atlas, where the Relic could be protected. Getting to Atlas would prove to be the difficult part, bit Weiss still had conflicting feelings about returning to the place her father had such connections in.

En this post-modern age Of the Iron Clockwork Of the social, political charade Of the heart coarsen’d by hate The contraction of man’s most degenerate impulse Is a grievous, involuntary response Post-modern man, He works so hard 2 be a destroyer of all-things That happen 2 reside outside his experience, Beyond the reach of his animal understanding And rudimentary sight Post-modern man, He works so hard 2 be offended by the skin of his very own drum                                  2 be sanctimonious And convince the world that his revolution has injustice on the run So hard, w/ all of his might, 2 demonise his neighbor And cast shade upon his lantern’s prospering light Post-modern man, He beseeches heav’nly constellations 4 universal peace Although they are constellations en which he does not believe Post-modern man, He takes excessive pride En the cut of his intellect [Aside.] Cold, colder, coldest! And deliberates ev’ry swing of Mother Nature’s mane W/out the will 2 act on behalf of what is beautiful, noble, and good [Aside.] He does this 2 the detriment of his soul. Post-modern man, He beseeches the jinn of degradation 2 befoul the Other And gorges himself upon the nev’r ending sorrows of his Sistahs and Brothas Who, 4 whatever reason, take the bait He watches the boulders of a supreme mountain spill, Gravity take hold, and ev’ry chamber of ev’ry heart fill W/ the angular stones of human ill will Post-modern man, He seems 2 nev’r weary of filth En fact, he feeds it as it fattens his dark space And the pinholes, above his prow, drift He watches as they drop from the thrones of Heav’n                                     drop from the many troves of Bliss Drop, drop, drop! Post-modern man, He does not revere nature He does not give her her due 4 him, biology does not hold sway And he rebukes harshly the poor bastard Who does not think-upon-it his way You can be me, he scorns, And she can be you. Swindler! Hypocrite! Fiend! Post-modern man, He champions a rising tide of gloom, Then bemoans the loss of light - That eerie stillness that arrives W/ the splintering of the cosmic loom These are his transgressions And their wages are far from trite A lasting wynter A soulless nite [Aside.] Serves him right 4 his many treacherous deeds. Forsaking the opening of the heart Forsaking the groves of the Mahadevi And then again, generations later, The miraculous parting of the sea of reeds And then again, generations much much later, The truth of that beautiful prince Who realised sublime emptiness beneath the Bo tree Alongside a rushing river Post-modern man, His boast Is a jest En ignorance, he will die Like all the rest Unless he returns 2 the garten Where his I began Unless he returns 2 the grove Where his fingers 1st ran Thru the mane of a lyon’s roar A lyon who, disguised as a feather’d serpent, Instructed man, Hike up those britches, nephew And take a fuckin’ stand! A lyon whose godly seed, by way of a Sacred Har, Descended upon the shore of Gaul w/ a great secret 4 the soul of man (The greatest secret 4 the soul by far); namely, Deliverance! Fret not this ride Fret not the fall of these earthly kingdoms (As their citadels crumble around thee) Fret not the stars en this darkest nite (As they refuse 2 mirror The Dangler’s last cry) Fret not the divine quiet Fret not the divine repose Fret not the tumult Outside these ancient city walls, TammuzOsirisAdonisChrist! g’day, folks! its me, vina, and this time i’ve actually got some neat-o things to say about my character !! so, click beneath the cut for bullet points & fun facts about roseline wynters. i’ll hopefully have a plot page up soon bc im working on it right now, but if u like what u read and would like to rp / plot, pls hit me up !!
a lil bit of history;
so. let me begin w the easiest of things- meet roseline “rose” wynters, the twenty one year old daughter of elsa i’ve played sporadically since,, the end of march, 2014. so. she’s definitely not new !!
but she has been given a new lease of life & as such, i’m erasing.. a lot of what i did prev. with her. she’s still been in and out of wda and some things are staying the same, but pivotal parts of old!rose like.. everything w calla fiore and carter forrester, some plots i did, etc, they’re all erased completely.
rose is,, difficult
that’s the only way i can think to describe her
she’s very loud and outspoken and she has always sorta been the thorn in her mama’s side
and here’s a huge change- she wasn’t the only one, anymore !! rose used to be an only child, but now she has a (much) older brother named christian- he’s mayhaps going to make an appearance eventually, and as such i dont’t wanna go into too much detail about him. but.. rose is still crown princess of arendelle, when.. having an older brother should mean he’s crown prince. there is a story there. he, too, has been a problem child. someday u will all understand
anywaY
back to rose
she’s got ice powers like her mama but.. she’s vastly more in control of them. she just doesn’t rly.. use them. ever. well. she does, but in public, it’s rare- they mightn’t scare her, but she’s met other ppl who are scared, so she keeps herself chill.
in spite of this. she has a rly quick temper.. like.. she goes from 0 to 100 in an instant and it’s not good, bc the one time she does begin to lose control is when she’s angry
many a snowstorm has been created by rose wynters losing her goddamn chill
she has a tiger, which is like. one of the most important things u need to know about her. his name is kumal & he’s actually just remaining canon from past rose (bc she adopted him yrs ago when we had a wda petshop thing up and running but the story now is a little different). he’s enchanted- for now- to stay roughly abt.. six, maybe seven months old, appearance wise. so he’s p big but not massive, but still.. he’s a tiger. she walks around w a tiger at her heels. that’s rose.
back to her actual history
she acted out first and then she decided the only way she could get attention was by running away and she’s been doing that ever since
at this point, elsa’s like.. all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ about it on the outside, but internally screaming always bc her daughter is the absolute worst
she shirks all her responsibilities- like. she literally does not care abt this princess gig- and instead she goes all around the world, meeting new ppl, seeing new places, and she comes back eventually but she always goes again
and its not even abt attention anymore- rose is sort of. missing something, i guess. and she’s sort of searching for that missing something in her own way, but im not quite sure if she’ll ever find it. in fact. im positive she won’t
fun facts;
she’s very smart but.. not in a way which has kept her grades up. she knows the world, she knows different cultures and whatnot, she has all this knowledge she’s picked up on adventures across the lands- but then she comes back here and its all very ordinary to her
she’s an artist, of sorts, who likes to take pictures and sketch different people and places and things she sees, but she’s nothing special- very amateur
but she IS a collector, of everything and anything. knowledge, material items, etc etc. its all the same to rose.
her room is a mess of clutter, all different things she’s brought back from around the world, rugs piled upon other rugs, scarves and fabrics hanging around the ceiling, books and ornaments piled messily. her pockets are filled with oddities and her arms are covered in fading bracelets and bands and she always without fail has a different patterned headscarf to tie around her hair, and its all because she collects these things and they surround her in every day life.
she’s as much an oddity in buena vista as the different knick knacks that fill her pockets are- she’s always one step out of sync, never quite fitting in, never quite knowing enough to. she has so much knowledge, but it’s never enough.
her attention is easily taken, so.. thatll be fun to play w. rose picks up a hobby and within a week she’s dropped it for a new one. she’s decided to do something, and as soon as something else comes along, she’s changed her mind and gone off to do that. she’s always restless and ready and willing to do something new, even at the expense of something old.
she always smells like lavender and she has a rly wholesome sorta style like. u will see thru fashion posts i reblog but.. she’s very vintage i love her
a cool new style phone ?? no thank u rose wynters has an old nokia brick phone that is indestructible and will get her thru life. no facebook messenger for her !!
books are her thing. she loves to read- she loves to learn things, as evidenced by how she rly immerses herself in all the new places she visits, and before she used to travel books were her only escape. she’s an avid reader to this day
but she’s also into spooky stuff !! she watches buzzfeed unsolved and all those sorta things, she loves the ~*~supernatural~*~ and ghosts and ghoulies but tbh i think she mostly wants to debunk it all
she takes great pleasure but she’s also like ‘i want to prove this wrong’
anyway i cant think of anything else and ik i once again got long winded but.. rose is an important af character to me Okay she’s been rocking around forever
