Probably the worst for comfort but I dont think shes terrible. So when you turn up at her door late one night she of course let's you in and snatch her bed. Even she can agree that Caines most recent IHA was a little on the intense side. Rubs your back until you fall asleep, and tries to make you feel less scared and alone by letting you know you werent the only one scared

Probably one of the best when it comes to comforting you! Gives you one of her softest blankets (she makes her own blankets!) As well as making sure your stuffed animal is in the bed

Makes it a point to tuck you and your plushie in to "not let the bedbugs bite". Runs her hands through your hair. Very good for any headaches you may have gotten from crying

Tells you nice stories until you fall asleep

JAX:

I think, similar to zooble, once he gets over the fact he was suddenly awoken he would be.... okay at comforting. Hes more eager to get back to sleep so he may be a little pushy in regards to getting you back to sleep. Kind of comes across as him dismissing your fears. Awkward back patting to try to get you to calm down

Hes a cranky one, I think, when it comes to sleep

KINGER:

I mentioned somewhere, I think in a cuddling hc... somewhere.. that kinger would put himself beteeen you and the door, effectively working as a barrier of sorts to protect you. That still stands here, even in a platinic/familial sense. Gets very into about how hes going to stand guard over you for the night while building a pillow fort around the two of you. Let's you snuggle into his robe (very soft and warm) while telling you stories he came up with... I think he would try to undo any fear you may feel around caine, since I personally think kinger is. Just used to caine. No point in being afraid of someone who could have hurt you at any time but hasnt done so... funny coming from the paranoid man

ZOOBLE:

Oddly enough they're pretty solid at comforting you! Once they get past the fact they were awaken in the middle of the night they pull you into bed. I think zooble would have fairy lights in their room, or the LED lights that you string up on your walls. Usually they have them in one color but to make you feel better they have them slowly changing into different colors. Very calming, I think. Quietly mutters that it's okay to be scared sometimes. I dont know I'm just soft for gentle older sibling zooble... offers to stay awake to keep watch over you

GANGLE:

Let's you fiddle with her ribbon, maybe

Like you know how sometimes people let another person fiddle with their hands and fingers? I think that's what it would be like for gangle

Plus ribbon has a nice texture, I think

Turns on the lights (dimly) if you're nervous about sleeping in the dark

2023 wrapped: cdrama edition!

taking a page from @dangermousie and doing an overview of all the cdramas i watched this year (i'll do one for kdramas later)! listed in order of least favorite to most favorite. favorite =/= objectively best/most well-made. just the ones i had the most fun watching.

15 have a crush on you. oh dear lord. this drama should be a case study for what happens when a bad drama has charismatic actors and they keep you trapped hostage. i watched this whole damn thing hating every minute of it on behalf of the poor female lead who definitely deserved better. the ending? absolutely batshit, and not in a fun way. one of the weirdest, worst endings ive seen since with you

14 back from the brink. too kitschy for me, i didn't last long on this one (i think 2 eps lol).

13 gone with the rain. i wanted to like this one because i love sean sun and troll general is exactly what i want out of life. but i didn't like the weird daydream asides, constant animal noise sound effects, and i found everyone kind of off-putting in a non-watchable way, so i peaced out really quick--ep 4ish

12 here we meet again. i love janice wu. i continue to try out her dramas hoping for something to grab me again. this one was pretty boring/too focused on the work element and not the rest of it.

11 exclusive fairytale. i have a secret weakness for youth-to-working-life dramas, so tried this one out. flat, not a lot of chemistry, and very color-by-numbers. the show was clearly made to vehicle jun, and that's okay, but not my thing

10 the starry love. i wanted to like this one because the side characters were fun and i loved the male lead/prince of heaven and all his awkward "please leave by 9" energy. but it bored me overall and unlike most folks i had no interest in the demon secondary ship. i dropped around ep 10

9 my journey to you. it kills me to rank this one so low because it was my most anticipated cdrama this year, but i just couldn't get into it. the pacing was too slow for me, and i couldn't stand how everyone talked to each other (long. pauses. and then. staring. and then. whispers. always the. whispers). i dropped this around midway

8 the love you give me. the chemistry between the leads was cute and it was a decent modern romance. started losing me around the midpoint when the paternity reveal hit and the ML got way into boundary crossing because of it

7 circle of love. objectively not a good drama. in fact, a toxic and batshit drama that has probably made me a worse person for watching it. but gd did my messy ass enjoy the trainwreck.

6 road home. you really got to be in the mood for this one, but it's a nice, understated and slow melo romance. but def not a bingeable show since it takes its time with everything

5 wonderland of love. another drama that i dont think is objectively great, but two competent schemers/martial artists trying to one-up each other is like ship catnip for me and this was a show that lived or died by its ship. surprisingly tame for the screenwriter, and had a happy ending! popcorn watch.

4 till the end of the moon. me and this drama were in a bad romance, which i suppose is thematically appropriate. i hated parts of it, i was super invested in others. the post-dream human arc was giving wuthering heights tragic obsession incredibleness. even with its flaws, i think most of cdramaland is in agreement that lyx/tantai jin stole the ML competition this year. great gowns, beautiful gowns

3 story of kunning palace. i adored the characters in this drama! even when the plot was losing my interest, everyone was cast so well and had so much charisma that i stayed pretty hooked from ep 10ish on. absolutely loved the mean high school theatre director wreck that was xie wei, as well as the other (imo) true love interest of the show, princess leyang. the desperate speech about being like iron is gonna live rent-free in my head

& then 1&2 are way ahead of the others for me this year/a very close race between them!

2 a journey to love. i love this drama so much!!! i have not skipped or speed watched a single scene which for me is a huge feat! great character work across the board -- even the side characters have a lot of nuance and interesting dynamics between them. beautiful fight scenes. great ost. one of the best, most balanced main couples ive seen in a show. it's gonna break my heart in a few eps when it ends, but i'll be happy about it

1 lost you forever (s1). this drama came out of NOWHERE and the vicegrip it had on me while it was airing!!! my favorite FL this year (although a journey to love's ruyi is a close second), and just a ton of fun while also being quietly devastating in parts. i loved how lived in and tired the FL felt, enjoyed the various flavors of mess from her love interests, and enjoyed how extra it could go while still giving us really grounded and complicated characters. this drama gets extra points for converting me on several actors i did not think that highly of before the show.

overall, despite how many i dropped (lol writing it out made me realize i dropped so, so many), cdramas delivered for me this year! my top two are on my short list for favorite dramas, period. everyone go watch a journey to love and lost you forever if you havent yet!!!

AWARDS

Favorite ship: definitely goes to ruyi and yuanzhou from a journey to love. it's just nice to see a couple that mutually supports each other's murders

Favorite FL: xiaoyao from lost you forever with ruyi from journey to love as a very close runner-up. i am here for this year's theme of competent, jaded ladies trying to reclaim their lives

Favorite ML: objectively, tantai jin from till the end of the moon should win this, but story of kunning palace's xie wei was just so entertainingly grumpy, petty, and unhinged which is a winning combo for me.

Favorite 2FL: princess yang ying from a journey to love. she's doing amazing and im proud of her!!

Favorite 2ML: technically third male lead, but xiang liu from lost you forever was my favorite to watch and had the best tuxedo mask exits

Best Cast: a journey to love, i literally adore all of them, even the ones i hate

Best Blood Cough: tantai jin, you beautiful bastard who needs a bib

She shuddered at his tone whimpering looking at the doorknob jiggle. “Princess I mean it come on out.” She shook her head no, forgetting Roman cant see her and sat on the floor with her knees to her chest starting to cry. “Baby you have to take your medicine.” Roman sighed knocking on the door again.

Little Y/N didn’t wanna take her pills. They make her feel gross and wanna nap all the time. She looked at the door thinking her daddy would tear it down and trying to mentally prepare for it. “Princess. I know you don’t wanna take the meds. But daddy needs you to take em so you feel ok.” She looked up wiping her tears away. “Daddy no medicine pwease…” she whined and cried. It broke his heart. But when it comes to her wellbeing he can't fold. “Princess…”

Y/N didn’t want it. She felt like Roman outta all people should know that, but he just doesn’t get it.

“Princess, I know it’s scary. I know you don’t feel the same when you take em, But daddy needs you to take them.” Roman sighed and he sat down at the door, leaning his head on the door. Hearing the sobbing still, it was eating him up. “Have you been writing in your journal again? She held her blues clues plush tight, she watched Roman’s movements as we took the two pills out from her medication tabs that label the day she needs em. He turned back around with the small cup sitting it down on the table. On the sofa he lifted her some and sat her in his lap, turning on paramount+. “Ok, you ready?” he smiled. She nodded and shed some tears again. “Dont worry baby, you'll get better soon. Just like daddy, remember when I was sick?” She nodded remember the times she stayed in the hospital and ran test because of his leukemia. “It was scary buba...” He nodded. “The doctors help me feel better, and they wanna help you.” He gave a reassuring look and grabbed the cup from the side table he sat in down on. He then grabbed some apple juice in a cup for her to wash it down. “Open.” She wouldn't at first but she then opened her mouth and took them in her mouth. Her face turned twisted from the pills awful taste on her tongue. “It's ok baby here.” he gave her the cup and she started to drink the apple juice gulping it down so the pills can go down as well. Roman saw she finished the cup and she gave it back. “Open again.” She nodded and opened her mouth once more. The pills gone, but for a good measure, “Tongue up.” She did so and no pills were in sight. “Thats my brave girl.”

As he went to go cook her small meal, he glances at her hearing shuffling. 30 mins in and the pills are working, she laid down on the couch. “Baby try to stay up so you can eat.” he asked. She nodded sitting up again yawning and watching tv.

Y/N has major depressive disorder, she had it for a year and Roman was there when she got a diagnosis. She was on watch for a while from incidents and it made it hard for Roman since he had work, especially going to other cities. He would take her with the bloodline to the shows but still he needs to watch her and make sure she's ok. Her MDD made if hard for her to stay in touch with her boyfriend, and opened a lot of wounds. And made her memory a bit bad,But the pills help the best they can and Roman was determined to be there till full health. She writes in a journal how her moods and movements are and Roman keeps track of that with stickers to keep her motivated. Playing like Roman forgets help as well, indicating she has her memory still. When she doesn't like taking her pills she screams and cries and it hurts Roman, so he's very patient with her. He knows the effects of the meds hurt and make her not feel like herself. But they are to help. Roman wants to help.

He finished wrapping the misubi and headed to the couch. He got back in position and sat her back in his lap helping her eat and watching the movie with her. After the food was gone and the movie was over, he got her ready for a nap. “Im

Not tired...” she wanted to fight but she felt a bit numb. “I know I know baby but Daddy is sleepy. I just need some company.” He got in the bed and wrapped her around the cover, she yawned again and soon started to drift to sleep. “I love you baby. Why is that when people are fat phobic about America they sometimes conclude its because "American food is poison and you're all on medication and etc etc type points". Like what is up with this shit and weird pseudoscience? And please dont respond to this "but american food is poison" with absolutely no nuance or science whatsoever because i will block you and will refuse to entertain it.

Like I'm sorry but American food is not "poison", or at least this generalization is just simply frustrating to me. It is true there are ingredients that are legal in the US but are not in other parts of the world, but you can't generalize that as "american food is poison" as it's more complicated than that. You can't make up claims about american food in order to be fatphobic. You can't make generalizations about american diets and nutrition without understanding the social determinants of what go into diet and accessibility of food. You can't have conversations about this without discussing socioeconomics, racism, ableism, food deserts, transportation access, healthcare, and etc. You can't just push bigoted and bullshit diet culture talking points and think you're saying something good here.

And on the science end, you can't look up how a preservative/ingredient that's in food "is also used as a paint thinner/[insert scare tactic]" without understanding food science and what makes something food grade. You can't say GMO's are evil without understanding what a GMO is and how its developed and what it actually means. You can't say "natural and organic is better! that's why american food is toxic" without really understanding food safety/what organic labels mean/etc. You can't say preservatives are evil without understanding why they're important for foods to be shelf stable and accessible, and also just the fact is they are not evil and bad.

And this is not to say there are not things that are able to be criticized about the american food system under capitalism. There is plenty to criticize. There is plenty to talk about within nutrition, access to food, farming/livestock practices, and much more. There's a lot to talk about with water runoff and the effects of american agriculture on the environment. There is so much to talk about with our food within capitalism but the thing is you dont want to talk about it. You don't actually care about improving the health and access to food and minimizing hunger and mitigating social determinants of health. You don't care, because if you did you'd be talking about these things in nuanced scientific and empathetic ways. But instead, you're just fatphobic and you really just want to make it seem like youre not by making up fake pseudoscientific and ableist points about american health in order to justify it. I'd much rather people admit that instead of scaremongering and spreading misinformation that could cause harm.

And for the recordthat's just my short point on the food topic, I haven't even gotten into the "americans are on too many meds" point which is just fucking terrible to say in itself, and ablelist. Like i for one people take meds if they want im glad people have medications that can help them. I'm glad medications exist. I hope to take my meds for the rest of time actually if it means I don't suffer from my shit 😭!! Instead of worrying about the amt of meds ppl are on as a moral failing focus on how we can make meds better more accessible and with less side effects. The end.

As a way for you all to end the day with some much-needed R&R, you and the RYUSEITAI gang have a weekly routine of watching movies at the end of the week together. Or, at least, you used to.

The movie is supposed to be chosen on a weekly basis, since that makes it so that everyone gets to choose at least once, but you somehow manage to end up forfeiting your turn to Chiaki every time.

You can’t help it! His puppy dog eyes are so effective, it physically pains you to turn him down…

But the Ryusei kids decide to put their feet down after the fourth time you agree to watch another tokusatsu movie as per Chiaki’s pleading request.

They’ve had enough.

After that, you’re forcibly booted out of movie nights.

“Sorry, senpai. It’s for the greater good.”

Shinobu-kun looks apologetic, at the very least.

Of course, Chiaki can’t stand to see any injustice happen on his watch and instead offers to have a special movie night with just the two of you.

You’re not even torn up about it, but the hopeful look in Chiaki’s eyes and the way he seems to sparkle at the thought of being your hero, even for a day, makes you agree.

Chiaki asks you if you want to pick the movie, and you say no.

The kids are going to be so disappointed in you, you think despairingly, when Chiaki picks–big surprise–a tokusatsu movie.

All things considered, even though Mechanical Violator Hakaider isn’t too bad, it’s still not something you’d consider watching in your free time of your own volition. 

Though, Chiaki makes a rather nice snuggle buddy if you do say so yourself. He’s lithe yet muscular, supporting your body as you curl into his side, his arm around your shoulders, your face buried into him.

At the end of the movie, Chiaki turns to you with a somber expression and you wonder if you were that terrible a movie partner.

Instead, what he says next causes a blush to erupt furiously across your face.

“Is it…is it wrong of me to say that I’m…kind of happy that you were kicked out of RYUSEITAI movie night? Because I got to spend more time with you, alone… Sometimes I’m jealous that other people get to spend so much time with you… I love being your friend…so…is it bad that I want more? And I might be reading too much into this but…I think you want the same?”

You forget sometimes that Chiaki isn’t just the hero-obsessed meathead everyone likes to paint him as. That he’s actually pretty good at reading people.

It’s the end of the day, and you’re ready to kick back and relax with your friend. Except you can’t, since said friend seems to be missing?

You know RYUSEITAI practice has ended, since you say Morisawa-senpai and Kanata-senpai a few corridors away, so it’s logical to assume that Tetora went back to his dorm. But you know better, so you keep going to the practice hall.

And lo and behold, what do you find but you find your friend sweating bullets as he runs through the choreography again and again.

As you watch, he stumbles over a particularly tricky piece of footwork, then curses loudly.

Why can’t he get anything right? He’ll never be a real man if he lets things like this overwhelm him. He needs to be better.

You call out to him and he looks up, a deer in headlights. What are you doing here?

You tell him you didn’t see him anywhere, so you came to check up on him.

Shame sinks in. He worried his precious friend and caused you to come all the way to the practice hall to make sure he was okay. He couldn’t even notify you that he was fine, or ask one of his senpai to do it for him… He’s a horrible friend, he doesn’t deserve you.

Of course, you notice right away that he’s feeling down, so you offer to stay and keep him company while he practices more.

Immediately refuses.

“No way! I couldn't bother you like that, you’ve been working so hard! You should rest! I’ll be fine.”

It’s because he doesn’t want to impose upon you he’s saying this, even though he’d rather you stay with him then leave him alone. But that’s being selfish, isn’t it?

You tell him outright he’s not a burden.

“Toracchi, I would do anything for you. I don’t mind worrying about you, because I love you.”

He blinks. You…love him?

You flush, realising too late what you said, but keep going. You love him and you want him to be happy, so if practising late makes him happy, you’re happy to just stay and watch.

Brightens immediately after you say this.

His energy levels have risen up! He is invigorated by your confession of love!

i have a post in the works rn abt deathfeedism that kind of explains my personal view as far as the kink, but its not really advice, so ill do my best from my own perspective. learning abt the reality of fatness helps a lot, and im not just talking abt the reality of living in a bigger body, but also the reality of things like medical fatphobia and the resulting medical misinformation. theres too much to go through here ofc, fat liberation resources are your best bet. maybe even the HAES (health at every size) movent has info for you. do some research, go nuts ^^ but! that still leaves some things on the table ofc, like what abt behaviors that are unhealthy? what abt being sedentary? and my advice for that is basically to chose your happiness. does being active make you feel good? then do that. it doesnt? then dont. is your health tied to your hapiness? what are you willing to do to maintain your health? are you including your mental health? how much are you actually intending to gain? what if you gain more than you intend? ask yourself questions and answer them throughly, and act accordingly. its rare that kinks can effect your life so deeply, and its important to know yourself. also of note! there are no studies that show weight loss is sustainable for most people in the long term, so while i dont think there's anything wrong with deciding weight gain isnt for you, you should know what you're getting into, and you should make decisions based on reality and your happiness. also also remember that "unhealthy" does not equal "bad". health is morally neutral. thats my advice, hope it helps!

SO. umm. if im being good and professional i'll do the smart thing and do thumbnails for my animatics to outline the gist of what i want. but uhh if im being honest i only did that for lavender town of which you can watch the wip of here! (for some reason i also animated a little bit within these thumbnails which you shouldnt really do but whatever)

but for the rest of my animatics ive thumbnailed in my brain which is very bad and i advise against it. bc i can remember a few times in toba the tura, my heart still beats and mama where im just sitting there like. uhh. what next HAHA so its just good to draw out smthn beforehand or plan ahead even if its messy!!! my only saving grace is how fast i am at drawing so im able to make up for this LMAOO dont be like me for each of my animatics i make one Big csp file (and a backup) which stores all the frames for that animatic (its usually just titled "a" or smthn i am very uncreative) these bitches get huge. So many layers. theres around 600 layers for lavender town alone. if i were smarter id split these files up so it didnt take ages to load and save but alas i am not. But this is where i do my frame by frame animation basically, i just lower the opacity of a frame and draw over it (onion skinning is the term for this iirc), usually i draw key frames of movement and then just inbetween them so they look a little smoother (e.g: a head turning to the side, id draw the back and then the side profile, and then draw the inbetweens of that motion) , im fond of the choppy lower fps look so thats what i go for! i definitely do not set out for super ultra smooth animation or id be collapsed on the floor rn i think as for editing with sony vegas pro, i import all the frames from csp and use "track motion" and "pan/crop" to tween stuff! (like... make it go from left to right, move the camera around yknow) which is a huge crutch for me Especially in toba the tura, i did very little frame by frame animation for that one LMAOO (not shitting on tweening u can do some really fuckin fun shit with it, like that shot of pk stabbing the lance sentry in toba the tura) i do overall prefer the look of frame by frame but i use a hybrid of the two!! theyre both super cool, complicated and fun in their own ways tbh.

funniest part of my Animation process is wanting the hair and body to be paced differently so i have to slot the hair in like its a fuckin lego piece on a different layer. this truly was the hell of the mama animatic. theres also just an entire layer dedicated to mouths for lip syncing. very funny anyways thats about it, i hope this has been enlightening!! if you have any like super specific specific questions feel free to dm me! i dont have too much experience animating using an art program's animation features specifically tho, so i can't speak to those! i compile and pace all the frames on a timeline in sony vegas pro basically so csp is just for drawing each frame out for me!

Yuzuriha fanarts and, of course, cosplays seem to have skyrocketed after the anime's release and while this had a positive effect on the series' popularity, I can't help but think many people are missing out on Yuzuriha's character. Plot (and fan service -_-) aside, looking at her character individually, she's a finely written character. We don't get to see many logical and pragmatic female characters who can hold their own and actually fight without being a burden in Japanese media. And I find her, for lack of a better word, "tough girl" act overall quite satisfying especially when her concealed feelings were revealed and explored towards the end of the manga. This made me want to read her part in the light novel, which I am planning to do soon. Anyway, I was wondering what you think of her and her relationship with the rest of the cast and her relevance to the plot.

General Opinion on Yuzuriha;

And you explained really well. She is fine character but she is also used as fan service and comic relief a lot which is a shame so anyway, here's my general opinion on her and her relationships.

She is fine character;

She is smart. She cooparates with others in a situtions that she cant survive on her own. This also means a lot of interesting interactions between different characters. She fight well and she is independent. We dont have much female characters, especially good ones so its nice that she is in the story as good character. She is pretty. She gives fan services but at least, she still has character. She is femme fatale, a pretty woman who seduces men for her own gain and drives them to dangerous situtions. Her fighting style also fits this side of her. She is funny so at least she gives comic relief to the series. Most characters are too serious so sometimes, it's fun to have a character who is chill.

As personality, she seems to similar to Toma at first sight. They both are mysterious, kinda sadistic, they always give a smile and pretend to be trustworthy only to usually betray for their own gains and they both has earth element etc but i think she is a lot similar to Chobei in a way she is independent, she is naughty girl who wants to do whathever she wants. She is pleasure person. She doesnt care about shame to survive. She lies and she is very social, this part of her is a lot like Chobe. Only difference is Chobei wants to be leader and dominates others while Yuzuriha usually prefers to play safe. She has her own agenda. She is also very realistic or negative like Gabimaru. They both are ninjas, after all.

Though her motivation as villain was explored more because it would make sense why Sagiri is so protective of her and she would actuall have an answer to Isuzu when she said 'think about her victims and their families'. And honestly she has a point.

She is Good Big Sister;

The most interesting part of her for me is that she is actually good sister. She became ninja to gain money for her little sister. She risked her life for her many times and still tried to make her happy. And the reason she wants to live for long time isnt just because for herself. Its most likely a promise she made with her sister. And we only learn this when she is about to die, that story she told before is actually real. Jigokuraku is a story that explore humanity of criminals and Yuzuriha is one of them. She is not just bad guy for the sake of it. Her love for her sister and her motivation also gives depth to her character.

I think this wasnt mentioned enough because Chobe usually overshadow her as big brother but i think its different. I am just gonna say it. Chobei is crazy. His love with for Toma is crazy. Thats just him and Toma. Yuzuriha is good, great big sister actually and this should be talked more.

I am mentioning this because usually 'brocon/siscon' siblings love shine more but their love or obsessions is too much sometimes. So its sad to to see they overshadow just your usual loving big sister/brother. And thats very unfair.

Fake Death Scene;

I think this really ruined her character and made it hard to take her seriously after that fake death scene. She has clearly 'last moments' scene which is perfect way to end her character but she suddenly comes out of nowhere. And not only her survival doesnt make sense, and also ruined the death scene but also, her staying in story did nothing for the plot. Whether that scene shouldnt have portrayed as death or she shouldve stayed death.

(Similar thing happenned with Chobe but it was obvious that he survived with the way Toma hold him nad problem isnt him surviving at that scene but it show it happens and the whole baby thing is ridicilous.)

At least, this couldve been good chance to explore Yuzuriha's humanity tooo, but her backstory wasnt explored the way Gabi and Chobei's story was. Not just Yuzuriha, Toma and many other characters too, wasnt explored much. Though, i think thats one of the main issues with Jigokuraku. (Another issue is it shouldve been more 'dont tell, show' thing). We didnt explore much even though there were so many different characters, different interactions, there wasnt much development. For example, it would be interesting plot if some point she betrayed the main group but eventually felt regret and came back to them maybe.

Sagiri and Yuzuriha;

I think its fine ship but its full yuri fan service. My biggest issue with this is Yuzuriha suddenly flirt iwth Sagiri out of nowhere and at some point, Sagiri is okay? with it, also out of nowhere. If only we could explore why they suddenly attract towards each others (other than 'oh hot woman'). Like, why Yuzuriha suddenly likes her out of all people? Gabimaru also has idea of justice, just like Sagiri. She also has a fan, Senta who seems to admire her personality. And same with Sagiri too. She was so stubborn with her rules even against someone like Gabimaru who is victim but then she sayd 'you are not a villain' to Yuzuriha even though she doesnt know anything about her story.

Though logically you can guess Yuzuriha (also just like Toma) likes people who would do anything for her and protects her. There is a soft side to her. My only issue is that there is no development and their interaction seems out of nowhere. And also Sagiri always think about Gabimaru more than anything so its weird. But otherwise, i like fanarts. Their personality fits each others. Serious innocent girl x Chill naughty girl. Its very fun idea, but in canon story, i dont think its well explored.

Her Other Interactions;

I feel like her love for Sagiri overshadow her other interactions. She was like a big sister to Nurugai and Mei. She was good ally to Gabimaru after some point. She even teased Toma. She gets to be taught by handsome teacher Shion, that was her request. There is also interesting parallels between her and Senta. Senta who is lying to himself btu honest to others and Yuzuriha who is only true to herself but lying to others. He views her as free and admires her but her hiding hearth from anyone isnt a good thing so i wish we explore more of this. Its a shame we didnt get more of it. Anyway she clearly likes them too.

Summary;

I am not a big fan of her but i think she is fine character, her being good big sister should be talked more and i wish we get to explore her inner world and interactions more, same for other characters too.

aaaa as far as time for the hobby goes, i actually only have that kinda time very recently (like over the summer and this semester).....if you noticed, i kinda dropped off for a year where i mustve only drawn like 10 things??? which is because last year was such a busy year for me in terms of work and courses...but this semester is better because im only in 3 classes: one doesnt have any exams and another im retaking (cuz i didnt pass the summer comp exam for it lol) so its all content ive seen before!! so this semester is a little easier and i can draw a bit more when i dont have homework or on the weekends!!!

as far as advice goes, (im not sure how art school works? or if youre in a normal university just majoring in art?) id say: take a lot of different classes to see what you like! explore different areas, and i think it might also be good to have like.....a contingency plan so to speak. like in my undergrad i got a minor in anthropology and almost got a certificate in accounting just so i had a little more options post-undergrad if the math major didnt work out!! so doing something like that is never a bad idea!!! (my undergrad program had a requirement to fulfill a certain amount of credits outside your major courses, so i used those to explore different things)

also dont be afraid to change if you feel you dont like your current path.....like i mentioned i was an astronomy major in undergrad first, and had wanted to go into astronomy since i was a kid, but found eventually it wasnt for me (i couldnt cut it in physics) and switched to something i wasnt SUPER passionate about, but i was good at it!! which was a huge decision for me and lowkey pretty risky (the fuck do you do with a math major?? everyone i asked they just replied "Oh you can do lots of things!" and never gave me an actual job title)

try to do summer internships if you can! as long as its financially feasible for you, itll make your resume a lot beefier when you graduate if employers/grad school see that you already have several experiences under your belt (and experience compounds on itself-- the more you have the more likely you are to get more!! for example here in my program, if you have more stats and coding experience coming in youre more likely to get more stats/coding assistantships, so you gain even more experience over the person who had no stats/coding experience prior and as a result got sent to be a TA or something. so the person who already had experience gets more experience and the person who didnt falls even further behind :') (me) )

networking is also important!!! since youre just in undergrad, i would recommend starting by talking to professors when you can. doesnt need to be like, going out of your way to go to their office hours and talk stories, but maybe chat a bit before/after class!! ask them how their weekend went, ask a dumb clarifying question!! i got to my current grad program because my professor came to me before class one day and said "I have a friend from [my current program] coming to recruit, you should go meet him." so be friendly with your professors so they get to know you and will pass on opportunities when they hear about them!!

a lot of professors get emails from all kinds of jobs/programs to the effect of "[place] is looking to recuit/hire" and they can pass those your way if youre on their radar!! and lastly work hard!!

(anyway this is advice i have based on my own experiences and what worked for me, it will most likely be different for you!! stay on top of your studies, but also force yourself to rest every so often!! I personally do not do any work on saterdays and try not to on sundays!! so i feel okay working hard the other nights of the week so i have two full days of rest....sacrifice your work-week free time for grades :') sometimes the best thing for your mental health is just getting the thing you dont wanna do out of the way!! good luck in uni!!!)

Or it could be some kind of a conversation situation . Or it could be a person . Or it could all be fake . Or it could be the person having a Funky Time !

I wanted to ask for advice on posting AI3 stories on here? I’ve noticed you and other artists I favorite doing it for some time but I’ve never really gotten the hang of figuring it out for myself.

(well, tumblr gave me two notifications but only showed me one anon so... hope you're the only one LOL). I assume that's a typo for AO3 and not the crime of AI generating 3 stories XD

okay, so I'm guessing you're looking for tips on how to effectively share fics in a useful/concise way? i don't know what a lot of other people do since the fanfic authors i follow on tumblr dont usually make share posts, but i can talk about my thought process i guess.

i share the way i do because i used to write my fics direct on tumblr (which was fine when they were like 1k one shots and doesn't work for pretty much anything else). i had to include all the information someone might want at the start of a post by necessity. when i started sharing fics from ao3, i continued providing the same information with some changes/additions because like, if that's what they wanted to know to read it on tumblr, they probably want it in order to click through to another site too. i know a lot of people who post direct on tumblr will just include like two lines like [- ship name - prompt/summary (some people skip even this & just. pls. include it) - read more] but that's really not enough for me to read something new unless i already like the author.

(side bar: for long projects, i generally do one share post at the beginning and one at the end, occasionally with another halfway through if it's especially long. i used to do them every chapter but that's just Annoying (for me, people in the tags, and my followers probably) but i update really frequently, so if it's been 2 months since the last chapter, go for a new share post, why not.)

anyway this is my general formatting notes that led to how i do my posts:

either start with or end with the link. you can type a regular title/"Read here on AO3!" and make it a hyperlink, or include one of the embedded links tumblr has.

IF YOU USE AN EMBED LINK: for multichapter fics, it will title it only as "Show Chapter" which is totally unhelpful. ao3 links are roughly formatted as "ao3.org/works/[workID]/chapters/[chapterID]". you need to delete the "/chapters/[chapterID]" part to have it display the embed link the same as it does with one shots, with the fic title, author pseud, and "AO3" stuff. This will make the link title actually helpful!

think of what information you would need if you were browsing ao3 instead of tumblr. you would usually be in a fandom, character, or ship's tag, so that's going to be the most important information you want to be sure you include and get out first, since it's often the first qualifying/disqualifying factor for people looking at fics. personally, i include fandom and ship because those two characters will be the obvious focus and all the others can be found on the actual ao3 post. if it's not a ship fic, then you can list major character(s) instead (also, you can list ship as "Gen" for general, non-shippy fic).

obviously you need a summary (seriously, you need a summary. even if it's bad, or one sentence, put something), but if there's other stats you want to include (like how i do the rating - which i think is important - and chapter/word count) you might want to put those ahead of the summary just to keep things visually neater. what you view as important will vary.

if you want to literally copy what i do i dont give 2 shits lmao. if you like some things about it but would change others, go for it. to me, your hitlist of information should be: fandom, ship/characters, work title, and fic summary. pseuds can be skipped, especially if its the same as your tumblr name, but i generally include it. i think rating is important, and i include something indicating length since thats a big decision factor in when/if i read what fics, but it's not so important in a share post because ideally, if they're interested in the summary, they'll at least open the fic and add it to their saved for later if its too long for that moment, and they'll see word count then

ya know before this Dainsleif quest, my own theory was that your twin was being mind possessed by the abyss and your twin couldn't remember you or their memories were altered. And you were going have to fight them at some point and be like no its me your sister/brother remember me! And they would break free from the abyss's or the unknown god's control, and then Aether could join us in the real big fight against whoever that may be.

- 'You wanna be the war machine? Take the shot' the fact that rhodey actually does go by war machine. Somehow I think the writer of this line was not responsible for that decision

Tumblr Plays Pokemon White 2- Part 11

While on my way to beat up some weirdo cosplayer I met in a sewer who should I run into but Bianca!

She said she saw me in the city and had to catch up to me. She winds up giving me, of all things, a dowsing machine. I'd read about these. Supposedly they can help you find dropped items. After all trainers go all over the place and even pokemon drop stuff. The dowsing machine is supposed to help you find stuff like that. HOnestly, I'm not against the idea. Espeically since I've heard of people making some really good money using dowsing machines! I can only hope it'll benefit me here.

Before I head onto the route the clown guy gives me a rare candy for completing their scavenger hunt. Guess that was worth soemthing after all.

Anyway with that I head out onto Route 4....

Where it is LITERALLY sandstorming!

And I JUST showered back at the Pokemon Center too!

Seriously Bianca couldn't have said something?! Just a, "Hey, heads up theres a sand storm out there!" would have been appreciated!

UGH.

I turn on the dowsing machine. If I GOTTA move through all this sand, I might as well see if I can find any treasure. There are obviously trainers here too. OH well. Lets see what our new friend Dusty can do!

The answer is, not a lot actually. Despite the sandstorm giving her a speed boost she still got taken out by the first pokemon of the first trainer we faced on the route. Oh well, I probably should have predicted something like that. After all we did JUST catch her.

That Colress guy running his mouth probbaly put ideas into my head.

Bentley is more than enough to take the Sandile out after Dusty did a bit of damage to it. Though unlike Dusty the sandstorm hurts him. Even so, its pretty clear that Bentley will be essential if I'm going to deal with all the ground types out here in the desert. Which is why I swap him out for Molly to take out the trainers herdier.

After the battle I give Dusty a revive. Even if shes not qutie strong enough to take out a ton of opponents yet, shes still the only one on the team resistent to the sand storm. I grab the exp. share I got earlier and give it to Dusty. If Dusty, if it works like its supposed to then Bentley should be able to win a few fights and Dusty can get some of the experience.

Oh Arceus the weirdo sewer guy has blocked the road.

That's not reassuring.

I mean... to the side of you but yeah. Did you move a bunch of rocks in the way?

Colress explains that these are actually Pokemon who are called crustle. He uses some weird device to wake them up and get them off the road.

Not gonna lie, seems mighty suspect this guy just so happens to have a device that magically clears the road.

Then outta friggin nowhere this guy mentions team plasma like its the name of his favorite coffee place.

Yeah and your not getting it! I dont need you looking up my address in the phone book!

Colress starts off with Magnemite and since Bentley was already out teaching Dusty hes up first. I start off with leech seed hoping it'll do something and magnemite hits me wtih thunderwave.

Hey! thats MY strategy!

Regardless I had bentley use leech see which helps counteract the damage from the sand storm. I send in Dusty hoping her ground type attack will do something to magnemite. Mudslap is actually very effective, but so is magnet bomb agianst Dusty, Leech seed heals her up by not by a lot. I have her use mudslap again which nearly takes magnemite out but it uses magnet bomb again and nearly KOs Dusty. Thankfully the sandstorm does the rest for us and buffs magnemite into defeat.

Colress then sounds out Klink. Deciding Dustycould use the training I give her a water and have her face off against Klink. Klink uses gear grind on Dusty which takes her out.

Bad call on my part.

I send in Molly to melt that metal which she does but not before getting hit with a thundershock and buffested by the sandstorm.

With that though I do beat Colress.

He gives me a bottle of 'protein'

This is getting sold the first chance I get. Make someone else deal with it. He blabs on something about if only we could talk to pokemon we could bring out all their power and then runs off into the desert.

Like I said.

After getting my butt kicked by a few trainers I find a rest house amongst the old ruins. THe lady inside heals me up and offers to continue doing so. Now that I have a place on the route to heal up, its training time!

I fight all of the trainers around the area, taking rests at the old ruin when I need a break or one of my pokemon faints. The net result is that Dusty and the others manage to gain some levels and learn some new moves. Most notably Dusty learns dig and Polux learns covet. Not a lot of improvement but good enough.

I move on.

This must be the road into Nimbasa. Happy to finally find it. I cant even see five feet in front of me in this sandstorm.

Huh theres a lot of sand around the entrance to Nimbasa. Would've thought they'd clear that out. Oh well.

Ah the gate to Nimbasa. Good thing too, its getting dark. First thing I'm gonna do is find a hotel room, have a nice hot bath, and reeeeelax.

or maybe, when his card is moved to a different lane, all the other cards in that lane gains +2 power?

or perhaps, when his card is placed down in a lane, any of the other cards in that lane can be moved once?

or he moves to a new lane, all the cards in that lane that have on-reveal abilities are reactivated again?

additional: i think his card should have cool effects!! especially spinning when his card is used or when he moves lanes. i think it'd be call if his card had a voice effect, and i think it'd be funny if there was a variant card where his card displayed a photo of atticus wearing a t-shirt with 'x-men' handwritten on it (a reference to his bio).

LOCATION:

• The Garden!

effect: maybe... by placing cards here, their power is doubled but their abilities are ineffective.

effect: the first player to place an on-reveal card here gets +3 energy.

i do love the idea that his card moves people around. i read the Magik card and i love the idea of those two having synergy by him sending cards to limbo. the randomly makes sense as game design lmao, dont want him to be too good by being able to purposefully moving someone too often.

The Garden is weird (a side effect of me not explaining it super well ig, my bad) i love the idea here, since that makes sense for what The Garden does to other people (nulls psychics, magic, etc) but I do like the idea that it can revive a unit that was already defeated (but at half power) since that's what it does to Atticus when he dies. I don't know if that's too strong for marvel snap though, I've only played a little bit.

man i would love for him to have a cry lmao, its not cool or impressive or anything, it's just panic. The shirt is very good too, i think he'd easily have a few alternate arts since in my head he has:

His current look, the dorky-looking school teacher

His og New Mutants look from when he was a teenager

His new mask and jacket from The New Day (this is self-indulgent but cmon)

and then the comic sans shirt

i think my only thing is that his power should be lower, he's not a great fighter and i like the idea that he sets up illyana to do more damage then him.

the only idea for an atticus and illyana magic thing is a partner combo (which means that they can search each other and can be your commanders together) Illyana is red and black' which are the 'evil' colours and related to chaos and fighting, and Atticus is blue and white; community focused and academically minded (and a little bit annoying)

illyana sends people to limbo and deals damage, while atticus warps in and draws you cards and gains life. there's definitely more there but im still thinking through it lmao
