I love a lot of these headcanons. I’ll only repost this one as it has links to all the rest, if anyone wants to look at those. I’m posting this one because Sky is my favorite.

Long talk/Ideas under the cut. Warning for dark themes, sickly appearance and death visions (Note: I may stuff over time but nothing will be delete from the list).

Twilight. Wind. Legend. Hyrule. Four. Time. War. Wild.

Sky (Skyward Sword). Other Nicknames: Hylia’s chosen, Sleepyhead, Cloud, Birdbrain, First knight, Skyloftan.

Titles: Hylia’s Chosen Hero, The Hero Reborn, Hero of Skyloft.

God who has claim over his soul: Hylia

Part of First’s soul: Caring/kindness (biggest piece)

Note: While he is technically called the ‘first hero’ he wasn’t actually the first hero. The first one while saving humanity was wounded, and died. However the first hero was scrapped from history, so by all accounts Sky is the ‘first hero’. He’s also the ‘first hero’ by a time travel and the grandfather paradox.

History:

Link was just a boy on Skyloft, he was in the knights academy along with his best friend Zelda and his rival known as Groose. They are bonded with Loftwings which are considered half of their soul. Link gets a weird dream, is woken up and then has to go looking for his Loftwing, Red. Link eventually finds his Loftwing and wins the race, officially graduating and Zelda gives him her sailcloth.

A tornado pulls Zelda out of the sky, Link tries to help her but it is seemingly useless. When Link wakes up, he’s called by a mystery figure who lures him down to a secret place, where the Goddess sword is located. He meets the spirit in the Goddess Sword, her name is Fi and she was given the task of helping the chosen hero defeat the Demon known as Demise, she offers that if Link takes this adventure he will find Zelda as well.

Eventually during this adventure Link learns the truth, that Zelda is Hylia reborn, that this was a long plan coming and just exactly who he is. Despite everything he still goes after to save her, having to forge the Master Sword to make sure it can actually be strong enough to kill the demon. After facing and killing the demon, Demise uttered a curse, to always be reborn and that the ones with the goddess blood and the hero spirit can never know peace. Link says goodbye to Fi but has to grapple with what he’s learned, he still loves Zelda and his new quest is to settle on the surface and have a family with Zelda for as long as his body will allow.

Death: Happened soon after his second child with Zelda. Suddenly his soul was becoming too much for his body and burned him from the inside out. He died out on a walk, Zelda did her best but couldn’t get his heart to start again.

Interesting stuff/Headcanons:

Link learns about his past and gains memories back after his first temple. He kept trying to push and go forward so Fi had to push him into the water to save him.

Basically his soul was burning up his body.

He does have a slight breakdown after this and is left with a burn scar over his heart.

After the final battle, Sky is lit with lighting scars crawling up his body. Most are seen on his neck, but some hint up to his face.

Sky talked a lot with Fi and really grew to care for her, she was the only person who would talk about the past with him. He still talks to the sword even if he won’t get an answer.

He learns a lot of songs and a lot of stories that he shouldn’t know. He knows history that has been lost to ages and will forever stay lost.

Sky falling asleep isn’t natural, it was a safety measure done by Hylia, to try and keep his soul from burning out like the last hero.

So if he sits down for too long without something to do, he will fall asleep.

He also suffers from visions and dreams about the future. Some are vague but others are not. He knew he was fated to die before Zelda’s hair even turned gray.

The prophetic dreams come from the father of his soul, and his connection to time. Sky has the dreams cause he has the biggest soul piece.

Sky tries to stay on the positive side because 1) it’s in his nature and 2) if he didn’t he probably would have broken down by now.

Sky has come to terms that Zelda isn’t Hylia, she may have some memories but Hylia couldn’t be bound in a mortal form (at least not like in the games), she is just what Hylia thinks are her best parts (you can think like Zelda is a daughter or offshoot of Hylia).

Zelda and Sky both deal with an identity crisis and bond over it. Zelda does try to find ways to stop Sky’s visions from coming true.

He keeps a feather from his Loftwing in his hair, so he can always be connected to Red.

He took up woodworking and whittling to keep himself awake when he sits down.

Unlike the others, he seems to be the only one experiencing the curse, it could be because he has a bigger piece of the original soul.

He can play the harp, specially he still carries around and uses the goddess harp.

He can cook, he just often doesn’t because he would doze off while something was cooking.

Just because Sky is sleeping doesn’t mean he’s resting, so he has bags under his eyes despite the amount of sleeping he does.

The bags combined with his pale skin that never seems to get darker, gives him a gaunt appearance at times.

His visions have also allowed him to see what the others deal with on their adventure (as well as their deaths). He mainly tries to come across as someone you can talk to.

Sky adores birds, he doesn’t understand why all the others seem to hate them.

Sometimes he feels a bitter envy for the other heroes, not knowing their fate, not knowing the burning feeling digs into his chest.

Sky is very protective of Fi and the Master Sword, he doesn’t understand how someone like Time sees it as a curse.

Sky can actually feel/see the other hero’s spirits or the broken part. Sometimes his mind screams at him to do something, but he doesn’t know what. (it’s like a faint greenish glow)

This is a part of my Legend of Zelda AU: CrossLinks! A less plot-heavy approach to the idea of a Link-Meet series focusing more on character interactions, found family, and chaos.

Hi there Sacred Realm fans! :D

It is I, the one who makes the analysis posts on various comics on the internet. (With permission course) Because I love doing them and they bring me joy.

If you are unaware of what Sacred Realm is, it's a Legend of Zelda AU about a new Link who gets a little medallion that makes him a badass, also it can hold the spirits of heroes from across the realms (Including my fave boy ever okay)

Before I begin, I'll get the important stuff done, This is done with permission from @zelda-the-sacred-realm, and all art from the comics belongs to the comic artist. Please do me a favour and go and check it out because it's a wonderful comic and extremely well-drawn and written.

Now, grab some popcorn, and a drink and please enjoy me rambling about a comic that I enjoy so much. :D

First, some sass

Damn, possessed Link got a mouth on him. Low key I love him, he looks like he could go for round two like right now. Wouldn't be surprised if he went for the hero of time next.

My eyebrows shot up at this.

Time KNOW's

TIME KNOWS. HE KNOWS WHATEVER IS IN THE MEDALLION CAUSING THIS.

I can hear the mocking voice of Link while he is saying this. Time has experience with this particular entity before.

Okay, so here is when it gets interesting.

Possessed Link or this entity I suppose, referring to Time and in turn Hylians as 'Your Race' Tells me a couple of things.

This thing in the medallion isn't a Hylian spirit. So as much and as fun as a dark link theory is, I dont think it could be.

Time arguing that we're not perfect, again referring to Hylians sounds very much like an "I'm speaking with a god speech"

I present my theory on what is in the medallion.

An extra spirit, a god of some description, from the spirit realm. Out to get revenge on Hylians.

Time has been to the spirit realm, in his games. (I am under the assumption that those still occur in this canon please do correct me if I'm wrong here.)

I'm convinced that this thing in the medallion is a deity of some kind because of the eye colour. I can't get over it.

This style of blue, with no pupils.

We've seen it before.

The colour isn't exact so it can't be Hylia herself I dont think, but, i believe that there is a spirit trying to escape the sacred realm and is using Link to do it.

Okay, enough of my conspiracy theories moving on!

OH BOY I LOVE THESE PANELS

You know those scenes in video games when you're fighting off something that's trying to possess you and you have that ominous-sounding echo that seems to reverberate through your head. But is also muffled at the same time?

(If I find a game example I'll link it)

This. Put that noise you think off over this.

KICK ITS BUTT LINK GET IT, GET BACK IN HERE.

These five panels tell so much when it comes to how much effort Link has to go through to fight off the medallion possession. I wonder if its going to be easier or harder for him to fight it off as he gains spirits in the medallion.

You can really feel his struggle and I just love it. The visual storytelling is incredible in this comic and I will fan girl about it all day because I just love it so much

I'm thinking he says this to gauge just how bad this possession is. time seems like the guy who would, especially as he already seems to know what this is.

I wonder if he really is the hero of realms?

Yes, Time. Yes, he is.

The face he dosent remember any time he's possessed by the medallion is a little worrying.

Makes me think that could be used later.

Like, Link dosent remember fighting this ice comet now. What if he fights an enemy while possessed, breaks the possession then has to relearn how to defeat it because as possessed link he's not gained any information.

Man Link is a cinnamon roll sometimes and I love him dearly okay.

I watched A Hero’s Purpose Episode 6 yesterday and I’m still recovering!

For those who don’t know, A Hero’s Purpose is a fanimation by Major Link. It is about what happens to the Hero of Time 7 years after the events of Majora’s Mask. Although the episodes take a LONG time to release, it is worth it because they are so well made!

I’m about to share my favorite parts of episode 6, so if you haven’t seen it yet, please do! Especially if your favorite Link is the Hero of Time! They’re all on YouTube.

Seeing Sky’s face made me clap out loud because I’ve been waiting for this moment!

This fight I did not predict, but it makes sense. As sad as it sounds. Time found out that Sky was the first (don’t think too hard on this) and got rage full, wanting someone to blame. This fight was heartbreaking but inevitable! 😭

Then Sky finally shows that THEY ARE THE SAME! Although he does admits that Time’s life has been more… rough. Just wait until he has to talk to Wild! Sky may need backup!

This line… This LINE!!!! Oh my gosh! It’s not just a question about Time or Sky! It’s a question about ANYONE going through a hard time! Whether it’s as big as being chased by a demon king, or as small as getting an F on your recent test, we have ALL had a moment where we feel as though our lives are crashing down on us. Then we find someone else who has experienced something similar. And we ask them this question.

This episode shows heartbreak and loneliness, but it also shows hope and perseverance.

My mom was working on something in the background while I watched this. And just before the episode showed all the Links, I told her “I will loose my mind if they show something from Wild’s era” and not even a minute later, I see THIS! I lost my mind btw.

Behold, janky ass Zelda art from early 2020 💀

before COVID struck the us, I was in the middle of a major Zelda phase of similar intensity to the one I'm currently in now. Problem was, I had no clue how to draw humans. So... BEHOLD

Janky ass hero of time. Look at him in all his incorrect anatomical glory. His awkward pose, his unappealing coloring, his oversized melon head with banana hair, he's glorious. This was the peak of my ability to draw humanoids at the time. Now let us move on to our next glorious beast

Truly a relic of its time, no? This unholy amalgamation of 2019 trends was the spawn of my boredom in 9th grade world history class. The croc boots. The floating hydro flask. The weird combination of these things with dyed hair and copious piercings. It's as if the alt kid and the vsco girl had a lesbian love child. To cap it all off, we have a stilted stance and a shitty color job. Splendid.

Say it with me class: "ANATOMY." Weirdly big head, hair with no shape, strange rectangle body, STRANGE looking limbs, and of course we gotta throw in the shoddy coloring job and the half assed background. And good god his wounds look NASTY. I'll give myself some credit here: those look genuinely painful. Bros dying over here (genuinely I want to do a redraw of this just to do a side-by-side comparison) One detail I do really like- the specks of orange embers flying around are a nice touch. I put forethought into this drawing, past me was not lazy. Just unskilled. (Well, I was pretty lazy but not with art) (I am still lazy at non art stuff)

These links need therapy. I put them in line for the therapists office. You can tell by the sign that says "Therapist's office." Never finished this one. To be honest the forms are not THAT bad. I finally ditched the melon head model and got better at human faces. Also... why did I think that ALTTP Link was physically unable to speak? Nothing really pointed towards that... and Echoes of wisdom don't even come out yet (I know EoS Link isn't the same as ALTTP but eh similar art style) This ones not bad but not good either.

Now this one. This one's a hoot. This is a knee slapped right here. Ya see, Twilight doesn't have an instrument cause he howls cause he's a dog. So the other links take their instruments and blow them in his face. RIP twilight, dies by decibel overdose. As a proud band kid I channeled my passion for woodwinds into this goofy sketch. Again, there forms are not bad, we're seeing some improvement especially on the faces of each link- wait a minute. ENHANCE.

SKFHSKFHFHFH SPIRIT!! What did I do to you?? Why did I put you off to the side?! WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE THAT?? My boi... look how I massacred my boi. He's not even in uniform... it's all wrong. His ear is all the way up his head. His limbs are so half assed it hurts. His face. His poor face. He don't even have a mouth. Just a weird scowling eye. He's not even playing the spirit flute, it's just a random set of pan pipes!! This is a disgrace to the good name of trains. I'm so glad I'm better at drawing now so I can do him justice.

anyway thanks for reading me bashing my younger, less experienced self for being unable to draw humanoids in an appealing way.

Separation ch.2

Summary - Sky finds himself in a new world with a rather ... "warm" welcome. And Twilight is definitely not panicking at all. Nope, no panicking for Twilight.

One moment, Sky and the rest of the Chain were headed through a portal. The next, he was falling through the sky. Considering that Sky lived in the clouds most of his life, this wasn't completely abnormal for him. It was a bit weird that it wasn't his era he was falling in, though. But what the really weird part was is that he was falling... alone?

Where was the rest of the Chain? Why weren't they together? What in the world is happening? Those were the thoughts of a slightly no very confused Sky. He had a calm landing due to Zeldas' wonderful Sail Cloth she had made for him. He was in a forest like area. Lots of trees and brush.

" Guys? Guys! Come on, if this is a joke, it's not funny! Wait, how could this be a joke? We're terrible at those. We'll besides Time- focus Link! Where is everyone? That's what you should be focusing on!" He scolded to no one but himself.

He looked around, concluding that he was alone. No Time. No Legend. No Twilight or Warriors. No one. No one but him. He looked around even more. The least he could do was try and find out where he was. It definitely wasn't his era. Nor was it Times, Twilights, Winds, or Wilds. That only left Hyrules, Fours, Warriors, and Legends. He guessed it wasn't Warriors ot Hyrules based on the description of their Hyrules they had been given. That only left two. The problem was he didn't know how to tell which one it was. They had only seen a sliver of Legends and hadn't even stepped into Fours.

Sky looked up at the sky. The portal was now gone. Not that I could have reached it, he thought. He closed his eyes and listened to his surroundings. Zelda had told him this was a good way to calm down. And when your girlfriend is a literal goddess, you tend to heed her advice more than not. He heard the tiny birds and how the wind brusseled against the trees. These sounds were interrupted, however , by the sounds of russeling in the brush. He wasn't alone anymore. And he had no idea what hid in the brush. So he drew his sword (as a precaution), and sword ready, he waited.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WAS ONLY ME AND WIND THAT CAME THROUGH?!" cried Twilight, who was now pacing and harshly grabbing his hair.

" Twilight for the love of - will you stop yelling! And I'm mean that it was only the two of you that came through! No, Sky! No one else but you!" She cried back at him. Unlike Twilight, Sun was sitting on the edge of a step with her hands holding her forehead.

" OK, ok, calm down, Link. You are not panicking. Think, what would Midna do? ... On second thought, maybe that's not such a good idea. Oh, Time would probably have a plan by now! Stupid portal," he ranted," Oh, I swear the goddess hates us sometimes." He had muttered that part under his breath, but apparently Sky forgot to mention his girlfriend has super hearing because somehow she still heard him.

"OK, I get it.Your upset, but that was just offensive. I nor do any of the goddesses hate you!" She sighed. She was now standing up, pointing her finger directly at Twilight. "I need you to pull yourself together or so help me, wolf boy! Now stop panicking -"

" Panicking? What makes you say that?"

Sun glared at him, sighed, and sat back down, resuming her position from earlier.

"Everything," she replied.

Sky didn't have to wait long before finding out what er who had been hiding in the brush. In a split second, the air had been filled with the clinging of swords. This person had attacked; Sky had defended. Whoever this was, she was very good at sword play. Sky could see that she had golden blonde hair that went just below her shoulders. She wore a kind of dress that covered only half her knees and was colored blue and white. She wore tights and brown boots. The only accessory Sky could make out was a thick gold bracelet with a jewel in the middle. From the look on her face, she was very angry about something. The fight had only lasted a few minutes before they both had each other's sword at one another's throat.

" Who are you?" She asked

Sky figured honesty is the best policy, so ," Link," he replied.

" Don't lie! There is only one Link around here, and he's... missing," she said, edging her sword closer so that Sky could now feel its cold, sharpness.

" I swear on my life I'm not lying. My name is Link and I'm a traveler from ... out of town."

" Get lost or something because this not the usual way in to my kingdom."

" Yes, I most certainly have gotten lost. I'm not very good with direction without a map, heh."

She considered it for a moment before lowering her weapon; Sky lowered his as well. But both kept a firm grip on the handle.

" Your story seems legit enough. My apologies. My kingdom has been through some... hardships in recent times, and as it ruler, I'm quite on edge," she said, letting her expression soften just a bit. It was then that Sky connected the dots.

" Ruler?" he asked.

" Oh, where are my manners? I'm Princess Zelda, ruler of Hyrule," she said," Now allow me to show you the way to my kingdom. It's the least i can do. But..." She turned and gave him a stone eyed glare that reminded him of both his Zelda and Legend. "If you try anything "funny," then I will kill you myself understood?"

Sky nodded hastly and followed her, taking one last look at the sky.

"I...see."

Twilight had just finished explaining to Sun what had occurred before the portal had separated him from the others. Her expression told Twilight that she was in deep thought, but she was also quite worried. Twilight could have swore that Sun was now pailer than before.

" If you are worried about Sky, he was fine. I mean a little banged up, but not seriously injured," he reassured her. It was weird reassuring a goddess when she was supposed to be the reassuring one. She gave him a small smile, which he returned.

"I have no idea ,honestly, of what could have happened. But I'm sure that we'll figure it out. It's getting late. You should go get some rest. There are beds up in there," she said, pointing towards a pair of doors. Twilight had no further suggestions and was quite tired if he was being honest. So he heeded Suns advice. And started making his way there.

"And Twilight." He stopped and looked at her. " Don't worry. We will find them, even if I have to go to the ends of the skies. That I promise."

Twilight took the bed beside Wind, who Sun had bandaged and patched up thoroughly. Twilight watched the young sailor as his chest rose and fell in accordance with his breathing before lying down himself. He stared at the stone ceiling, thoughts flooding his mind. They would have to wait, he thought. And he closed his eyes with only two thoughts not being pushed to the back of his mind. One where he wondered about what the others were doing and if they were safe. The other about a girl whom he'd never see again. He was always sure never to push his thoughts of her to the back of his mind. Yet he didn't exactly know why. He always thought of her at bizarre times. He always thought of what remarks or advice she would have given. And if he blocked out the other sounds, he could swear he could still hear her laugh. It was funny to him that he had once loathed the sound, but now he yearned for it. Even if it was only one more time.

Someone needs to write a comic or story about Skyward Sword from ZELDA'S perspective. I want to see her terror as she's ripped out of the sky. I want to see her interacting with the locals while trying to find a way back to the sky and wondering if Link and their Loftwings are OK. I want to see her first interactions with Impa and Ghirahim. I want to see her be freed from the Fire Temple by Impa. I want to see her learn about her identity as the Spirit Maiden, and what that means, and see her past memories as Hylia affecting her. I want to FEEL that angst all the while knowing that Link is coming for her. I want to see her navigate her feelings for him. She's a goddess, and he's but a mortal-- will they ever be as close as they were before?

I finally finished this FUCKING piece and im so happy yo get it out of my drafts

In this little au, the spirits are connected to the ‘medallion’ (aka golden revolver) as they each were once wielders of it, but sadly died while having it in their possessions which lead to possession >:)

Link is the most recent founder of such cursed item, and now the spirits have to help him keep the weapon out of the wrong hands!
