Benrey doesn't really care about much- he doesn't have a temper, nor a sense of personal justice- he just wants to play video games with his friends. He doesn't even take his own video game's world seriously, which is why Gordon killing him never really bothered him.

But when Gordon tries to keep him from the co-op he loves so much by not bringing him with The Science Team? Well, that's just too far.

aka Thingrey but as a really messed up jinmenken. sculpted the form Benry takes in one part of my (as of yet unwritten) The Thing fusion au fic, in which he goes to try and explain himself to Gordon, but since dogs can’t talk, he has to reform his head into something that can actually form understandable human words. Gordon thankfully doesn’t set him ablaze right then and there because Reasons. i wanted to sculpt something with fur and also paint something all fleshy and messy, and Thingrey’s form here fits both those criteria, so!

Look, he knew ouija boards were fake. They were produced by Hasbro for fuck’s sake. They couldn’t actually connect with the supernatural, or whatever. But, well, he hadn’t believed in the supernatural at all a few months ago, so who knows. Maybe it would surprise him. He certainly was feeling a change in the atmosphere, just sitting in front of it. But that might also be because he was sitting on the cold concrete floor of the basement. Whatever.

Benrey expresions and other stuff

My benrey’s skin greys when using his powers, his eyes and teeth also change color with the sweet voice and depending on how intense the emotions are the saturation will vary, but usually a very faint blue :7

That aside he’s kinda just Barney (appearance wise)

hanging out with Benrey has its ups and downs for Gordon, but there's a weird comfort in not having to worry about keeping up appearances. Like with the rest of the team, if he needs to go AFK, he'd either unload his character model completely or painstakingly arrange himself on the ground so he can set down the headset and controllers to look like he's lying down and not twisting in inhuman ways

but with Benrey it's like

"Hey before we start the next game, I'm gonna go to the bathroom. You mind if I leave my body here?"

"go piss girl"

"Awesome, thanks." And then his head just folds into his torso and crumples like a pile of laundry. Benrey probably even copies him
