Who said “I love you” first Hide--out loud anyway. Kaneki has a bit of trouble expressing his feelings like that.

Who would have the other’s picture as their phone background Hide would. It'd probably be an embarrassing photo of Kaneki, too.

Who leaves notes written in fog on the bathroom mirror Hide. It's always something that will make Kaneki smile. Sometimes it's a sentence from a book Kaneki was telling Hide about, and those really make Kaneki happy because it shows Hide was paying attention.

Who buys the other cheesy gifts Again, Hide. But sometimes Kaneki would retaliate by getting something just as cheesy.

Who initiated the first kiss Kaneki. After one of their usual dates, Kaneki was just so caught up in the moment (while Hide was blabbering about something Kaneki wasn't paying attention to) that he just leaned in and kissed him.

Who kisses the other awake in the morning It's a popular thought in the fandom that Hide is a morning person while Kaneki isn't. But I like to think that Kaneki would be the one to kiss Hide awake.

Who starts tickle fights Hide, but Kaneki would finish them since he's got four extra limbs (rinkaku kagune) for maximum tickling.

Who asks who if they can join the other in the shower Most of the time it's Hide (more as a joke) but if Kaneki is feeling like he needs to be near Hide, he'll ask.

Who surprises the other in the middle of the day at work with lunch Kaneki. Even though he can't taste test his own cooking and the smell would make him gag, he's still the one who mainly cooks (and it comes out pretty good anyway). Plus I like to imagine that the people Hide works with are always surprised that he was able to bag one of the strongest ghouls that was once considered a menace to society.

Who was nervous and shy on the first date To be honest, I'd say both, but Kaneki more so. They've been best friends for a long time, so Kaneki is comfortable around him. But actually dating Hide just makes Kaneki internally combust. Kaneki was chanting "I can't believe we're dating" like a mantra in his head for most of their date.

Who kills/takes out the spiders Kaneki would kill them. One could be across the room and all he has to do is extend one of his rinkaku to smoosh it.

Who loudly proclaims their love when they’re drunk I think they both would. It's pretty normal for Hide to proclaim his love for Kaneki anyway (even when he's not drunk), so most people don't pay it any attention. But when Kaneki does it, it's always so humorous.

HideKane rambles and thoughts and headcanons

When Hide and Kaneki go on dates, Hide always brings an extra pair of gloves, jacket, hat, etc. because he knows Kaneki gets cold easily and wouldn't bring any for himself

After the Death Kiss TM, Kaneki isn't able to look at Hide properly and always cries when he tries to kiss Hide. Hide always reassures him, telling him it's okay because Kaneki wasn't in his normal mindset and Hide was the one who offered himself. They have a long conversation about Hide's self-sacrificing tendencies and Kaneki's inability to accept help after one of Kaneki's breakdowns.

Kaneki sometimes paints Hide's nails and vice versa. They also help wash each other in the bath if one of them has had a particularly rough day.

Sometimes Kaneki can't handle hugs, touch, etc. so Hide always warms up water bottles or heating packs to help Kaneki still get the warmth.

This one isn't even a headcanon, just brainrot BUT Hide and Kaneki cuddling on their couch together and watching movies

They should have been canon, there's not straight explanation for the location of Hide's scar, they totally kissed and nothing can convince me otherwise.

And the angst and drama and dramatic angst of them dating pre-jason and Hide finding everything out? Or finding everything out because of Jason? Or him already knowing bc of Nishiki and Kaneki freaking out when he finds out he knows? I love it

it makes a lot of sense why hide kane and toriko shippers had even a little hope that one or both ships would become canon. hidekane has more evidence than toriko but that’s mostly bc yoriko is kinda just there for toukas character motivation to not be like ayato.

hidekane and toriko both mirror nishiki and kimis relationship ship. they’re all ghoul/human with the humans making the ghouls sympathetic to humans. idr if yoriko ever found out that touka was a ghoul but both kimi and hide let nishiki and kaneki eat them so they could survive. and hide probably kissed kaneki when he let kaneki eat him bc u know, hides lips are gone. and it is canon that hide lives kaneki romantically too!! anyways i am a lil sad that neither ship was fully canon but. it makes sense that they wouldn’t be. but like. the whole reason touka was able to get through her pregnancy was bc of her relationship w yoriko!!! she wouldn’t have been able to eat human food so easily if she didn’t want to support yorikos hopes of being a chef!!!!

Ken Kaneki doesn't believe in fairy tales. Ever since he found out that his longtime partner cheated on him behind his back, Ken's convinced every love story is a lie.

He's ready to cancel their supposed 10th anniversary entirely. But his best friend Hideyoshi "Hide" Nagachika has other plans for him: taking him out on an impromptu vacation at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, for 3 days.

Ken has to admit, whenever he's with Hide he always feel butterflies in his stomach, but after his ex-partner's betrayal, Ken's over it all. Happily-ever-afters, true love’s kisses. It’s not real.

...Or is it?

Because when Ken and Hide enter through a hidden door in Sleeping Beauty Castle, they’re not in the Park anymore. They’re in the story. In Sleeping Beauty—with Princess Aurora/Briar Rose and Prince Phillip, the Three Good Fairies, the Dark Fairy Maleficent, and extremely intelligent woodland creatures.

Unfortunately, they’ve landed right in the middle of the story—which throws things off. Suddenly, Aurora and Phillip are meeting before they were supposed to. The fairies are suspicious of the interlopers, and even Maleficent gets word of their arrival.

Ken and Hide will have to work together, make sure Aurora and Phillip fall in love, and get the story back on track—because if things don’t end the way they’re supposed to...they might never get home.

Will they be able to pull off a fairy-tale ending? And will Ken and Hide get a happily-ever-after of their own?

Anon, this would make for a good fic! I'd like someone to write this so I can read it, please. :D

HideKane Snow Day

Hide LOVES the snow while Kaneki prefers to stay inside and look at it

Hide drags Kaneki outside anyways and they start having a snowball fight

SNOWMAN BUILDING IS SO IMPORTANT!!! Hide and Kaneki make snowmen resembling themselves and make the twig arms hold hands

Hide makes a snow angel and drags Kaneki down along with him, much to Kaneki's dismay

Once Kaneki is properly turned into a popsicle is when Hide finally relents and agrees to back inside

HIDE AND KANEKI TAKING A BATH TOGETHER BECAUSE THEYRE SO COLD IS CANON YOU CAN CRUCIFY ME AND PRY IT FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!!!

After the bath, Kaneki makes some tea and hot chocolate for himself and Hide (Hide puts a bunch of whipped cream and marshmallows on it)

Once they settle in with their drinks, they crawl under a cozy blanket together to cuddle and watch a movie while the snow falls outside (the curtains are open of course so they have a nice view)

Anyways you can tell I'm normal AND sane about them because my first thought when I saw it snowed this morning wasn't "oh pretty!" it was "wow HideKane would love this!"
