while I do wish that they'd focused a little more on what would have been incredible sadness for the rest of the party over kristens death (<- guy who is obsessed with grief) I do understand that the players probably know she's not permanently dead, and that them and their characters were hyperfocused on bringing her back, so the sadness of the moment wasn't dwelt on. I am however obsessed with everybody immediately being 100% down to face their deepest, most horrifying fears in a place where dreams are real if it means even the slightest chance that they can bring kristen back from the dead (<- guy who is obsessed with friendship. and resurrection. which sometimes are the same thing.)

it’s actually so wild to me that this fairly quirky YA type show gave both of its main characters deaths that can, in one way or another, solidly be considered hate crimes. they were both flat out murdered as a result of being A) gay and effeminate or B) brown (south asian, specifically) and you could argue whether or not those kids thought of it that way in the moment or whatever but the bottom line is that they would not have been in the situations that killed them if they weren’t of their respective minorities. like legitimately that is a ballsy choice for this kind of netflix show, let alone for the two Main Characters, and i respect it big time
#rambling#i think about this a lot#you could brush charles’ off as a hate crime by proxy since it was in response to him Stopping a hate crime#but that would be stupid. like you think what happened to him would’ve happened if he was white? doubtful#as a mixed person the way i see it is that in that moment- when he protected that pakistani kid- he went from being tolerated#by being/acting just white enough and with enough other jock traits to sort of fit in amongst them#to all at once proving to them that no- he is in fact The Other. he isn’t one of us he’s one of Them.#and as such what happened to him would’ve been a bonafide hate crime. even if they were to give an excuse like ‘he got in our way’ or ‘he#made a fool out of us’ or whatever else. even if those boys didn’t fully UNDERSTAND the racism in their own intentions/actions#it still would be. because that would not have happened to a white boy. period#anyway. genuinely fascinating choice they made with the way they presented his death- especially considering it was not#remotely similar in the comics. neither of them had the hate crime aspect going on really up til yockey’s narrative choices#so props to him. man’s got balls#dead boy detectives#charles rowland#edwin payne#edit: I will say that I don’t think the boys in edwin’s case technically murdered him nor would I call them murderers#because I can’t imagine a single one of them actually thought that ritual was gonna do anything more than make him piss himself#it was still hate-based bullying. like they still absolutely did what they did because he’s visibly effeminate and easily clickable#and all in all: gay. but when I say edwin was murdered I don’t really mean by those boys. I mean those boys dragged him into the situation#(kicking and screaming) that GOT him murdered by a demon. and he would not have been in that position if not for being gay.#I’ll say it again because last time I talked about this someone got real pissy in my inbox: I am not excusing the actions of the boys that#got him killed nor am I saying what they did wasn’t based in homophobia. i am just clarifying that they didn’t intend on killing anyone or#think whatsoever that someone getting killed was even a possibility (as opposed to charles’ killers who definitely had to have thought he#could be killed even if that might not have been the premeditated goal of every boy involved)#but the fact that edwin was ultimately intentionally killed by a demon counts as murder to me#someone killed him on purpose. that’s murder#the demon probably didn’t give a shit about this human teenager’s sexuality but regardless he ended up there for being gay.#so. just. a clarification

tobiizu au where they both end up married to the daimyo for like, the sake of the peace treaty or whatever. who cares. they're in the same harem for the same man who they both hate and they can't kill each other, nor do they particularly want to it turns out.
but maybe they can kill the daimyo if they put their heads together on how to get away with it and not get their families killed for the trouble....

KINCADE PACK 🐺 (original works) — “The name goes back centuries, and all Miranda cares about is making sure it lasts for many more”
[template by @tommyarashikage]
tag list (ask to be added or removed!): @adelaidedrubman @florbelles @simonxriley @voidika @kyberinfinitygems @voidbuggg @inafieldofdaisies @statichvm @socially-awkward-skeleton @aceghosts @carlosoliveiraa @risingsh0t @unholymilf @thedeadthree @cassietrn @jackiesarch @a-treides @shellibisshe @loriane-elmuerto @katsigian @captastra @simplegenius042 @theelderhazelnut @g0dspeeed @leviiackrman @strangefable @jacobseed
#insp: the lodge#too many ocs to tag here lmao#this is a little bit rushed because it’s like 2am#but I’ve been thinking about doing this template for them since I first saw it#FINALLY I get to talk about this fucked up rich werewolf family#Logan and Jayde’s dad were best friends and grew up together#so Jayde and Skye essentially grew up with Logan’s kids#there’s a lot of complicated feelings there between the kids for various reasons#they consider each other family to a degree (more like cousins)... but some of them would definitely straight up kill each other.#Miranda had her eye mostly on Jayde because she’s the same age as Garret and Miranda’s main goal is to strengthen her bloodline#and Jayde comes from a well known purebred bloodline#so Miranda’s golden boy Garret (massive douchebag) tried his darndest to rizz up Jayde for most of their childhood#Jayde fucking despises him. she beat his ass on more than one occasion. which massively bruised his fragile ego. but he still wants to hit#Amara and Mitchell are the designated chaos twins that Jayde has a love/hate relationship with. Skye gets along with them great of course#Jonas is the only mf that has his head on straight. He's mostly separated from the fam. removed at the 'heir' when he didn't want it.#now hes a werewolf therapist for werewolves with a small family of his own. he reminds Jayde of her dad. he's around the same age too#SCANDAL: Jonas is slightly older than Logan lmao#Declan is the other golden boy. the precious spoiled baby. Miranda's backup for the backup.#he's terrified of Garret so he tries to stay out of his way and mostly keeps to himself#tbh Declan is just Scared of Everything and desperately doesn't want any responsibility but tries to hide it#anyway before Jayde's dad was killed and she was captured they knew hunters were coming for them#so they went to the Kincades for help. Miranda would only accept the girls.#Jayde chose to stay with her parents and they left Skye with the family to keep her safe (she was 12)#that was the last time Skye saw her family intact :/ she didn’t see Jayde again for years.#so Miranda pampered her and groomed her to be in her family.#like she was this little jewel. the last living Thatcher.#now that Jayde is back and Skye is with her and they're living their own life#Miranda be scheming. she wants to claim their bloodline sooo bad.#anyway sorry for the massive lore dump there’s.... a lot of complicated shit going on here

Just rewatched season two episode two and my God the LOOK Five gives Luther when Luther tells him to fuck off about the apocalypse, I’m actually in shambles? HE JUST WANTS YOU TO BE SAFE AND LIVE!! Nobody in that family truly appreciates the shit Five went through just for a chance to save their lives. He doesn’t care about the world, doesn’t care about the commission, he cares about his family. I mean shit, Five Hargreeves has loved his family longer than they’ve been alive, and they just don’t realize how profound his love for them is. To know, they have someone who spent forty years alive on hell on earth just for a CHANCE to keep them safe? And to become an assassin and be experimented on, just to see them again??? I’m going to cry, he is truly the most sad character in this show, his whole life has been a cosmic joke and all he ever cares about is his loved ones, he’s the loyalest motherfucker in existence, SOMEONE GIVE HIM A HUG GODDAMNIT

Honest to god there is something almost sacred about the way Satoru and Suguru has been respecting each other even after the fall out
Suguru knowing he was Satoru’s biggest weakness so he avoids big confrontations and doesn’t face him firectly because he doesnt want to do that to them
Satoru knowing that he could any time go and kill Suguru, saving countless lives, but not being able to do it until there was nothing to hide behind
Like i feel so emotional over the fact that they never used their connection against each other. Like fucking hell

Assuming that the whole 'mahiru is the vessel needed to bring back the count and the 9th servamp will be the servamp of vainglory' theory will be correct, it's interesting how both mahiru and touma can be accused of this sin even if the way it applies to them is opposed.
What touma wants is to be acknowledged and to that end he was willing to become the villain who destroyed the world before mahiru and tsurugi managed to change his mind:
Tumblr media
Mahiru's way of being vainglorious seems a lot more positive at first because he wants to be a hero who saves others, but it's self-destructive and encourages laziness in others:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But thankfully we see mahiru starting to let go of the need to make other people proud of him and to prioritize making himself proud in his conversation with tsurugi:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and later when mahiru has a meltdown because he fears his uncle might be dead and suggests sacrificing his life to save the world kuro rightfully yells at mahiru for acting hypocritical and not listening to his own advice:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I want to mention here that I really love how horrified kuro looks as he realizes that mahiru's reckless hero behaviour comes from a very self-destructing place:
Tumblr media
because not a lot of manga I know really acknowledge that maybe the way a lot of their protagonists try to be heroic is actually pretty unhealthy and shouldn't be encouraged? Like Sigurd pointed out at the C3 meeting, it's kind of shameful that the children have to save the day)
Which is why I love that mahiru decided to trust kuro to handle tsubaki without him going with him:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He decides to stay back with everyone else, showing that he has learned that he doesn't need to be the one to do everything and can stay back with the others to buy kuro time.
Interestingly we see touma doing something similar. Opposed to his old need to have the whole world acknowledge him he now wishes for everyone to believe he's dead and he's helping to protect the city by creating a huge barrier without making it known that's he the one doing this:
Tumblr media
He's helping the protagonists seemingly with no intention of earning acknowledgement for it.
I think in a way it could be cool of servamp to subvert the shouned trope that for the finale battle the only one able to defeat the big bad is the protagonist while everyone else just watches on from the sidelines, not allowed to do anything because this is the protagonist's moment of glory.
What if lily's plan when he put kuro in mahiru's path was that if kuro tried to stop tsubaki at the gate surely his eve would need to be there with him, right? Because of course he needs his eve to fight and then there's also the distance limit. So why not make the vessel you need at that gate for the ritual to work kuro's eve? Then the vessel would be at the place where you need them without you even needing to do something because naturally they would be thinking they are doing the right thing by going with kuro to fight tsubaki together. And surely someone as vainglorious as mahiru would never pass up the opportunity to be the hero who stops tsubaki. It's foolproof!
Unless of course before the ritual the vessel learned to let go of their vainglorious nature, accepted that it's okay to take a step into the background and trust in others. And additionally also found a way to break through the whole forced proximity thing that the servamp and eves had going on.
I don't know, I feel like it would be a neat bow on mahiru's character arc and a unique way to thawrt the antagonists' plans if the creation of the servamp of vainglory failed because the 'it has to be me' guy they wanted to use as the vessel decided against glory and stayed back to let his partner handle things with tsubaki alone because he trusts him. Kuro on the other hand wants to make up for his past regrets and resolve the conflict through communication this time. Learning to trust in himself again by managing to talk tsubaki out of going through with the ritual on his own would be a logical conclusion to kuro's arc.

The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced that Gortash’s whole “put fireworks in teddy bears to blow refugees up” thing was a gift for Durge
Every time I think about it I come to the general conclusion of it sounding like something Durge would find funny

Thinking about the Clive and Bill parallels again...
Both started with pretty average goals (gaining money / getting closure). Both became obsessed with said goals to the point of going through with their plans no matter the cost. Both became consumed by the desire to pursue a goal that isn't actually achievable (You can get more money but it will never feel like it's enough. You can lash out in anger but it won't make the anger go away). Both ended up killing innocents.
And yet.
Bill getting rid of his humanity in the hopes of getting money. Clive getting rid of his money in the hopes of getting his humanity back. Bill claiming he despises people like Clive when he has himself killed innocents for his own selfish plans. Clive claiming he hates politicians and scientists but still using science to build a mecha and politics to justify its use. Bill hiding everything, hiding from Claire that the machine isn't ready, hiding his crime from everyone. Clive exposing everything, exposing his secret base to Layton, exposing Bill and Dimitri's crime by his staging. Bill covering up the incident while Clive broadcasted his crime inside the fortress.
I don't know where I was going with this. Maybe that prime minister Bill looks like a honest citizen, just your regular Londoner really, while Clive is so obviously violent and destructive : and yet, Clive is the dove and Bill the hawk. Funny.

yandere yoo joonghyuk for kim dokja plsplsplspls
real and true. i think they’d both be crazy for each other…. a match made in hell heaven 😌 absolute menaces to everyone around them
i mean like. post canon, would either of them let the other out of their sight???? hell no lol if they could fuse into one person to prevent the other from leaving for any reason they would
[obligatory “this is an unhealthy relationship (probably) and should not be looked to for real relationship advice” dislaimer here]
now, i think dokja would be a bit possessive of all his group (kimcom) in a kind of “mama cat” kinda way. they’re his PEOPLE, and they’re only his. if someone hurts them, any of them at all, that someone will disappear real fuckin fast. he’s the leader of the group and he’ll be damned if he can’t protect his children and his friends.
this kind of goes the other way too, the rest of the group will kick in his shins (metaphorically) and force him to stay in bed using any means necessary (remember in canon when they literally sedated him to force him to take a break?) if they believe he’s ever in danger of fucking up his own health to pursue an outside goal. (which he’s absolutely allowed to do, but NOT at the cost of his sleep or his nutrition or his mental health.)
but christ, yjh and kdj to each other?? now, they have no worries about cheating or anything god no. but god fucking forbid you hold one up for too long while the other’s waiting for them. ESPECIALLY, good lord, if you flirt with one of them? you’ll be lucky if a sword held up to your face is the only thing you get lol.
these guys are a fucking menace to their local neighborhood, it’s basically agreed upon fact that you just shouldn’t talk to one if the other isnt in the room. especially dokja, his companion is downright terrifying if he learns you talked to HIS partner without him in the room good lord. nice guy with a scary boyfriend.
not that they’d ever really be apart anyways—christ they’re like bonded cats, “do not separate”. attached at the hip isnt a strong enough word they’re fused at the damn heart
this is more er. soft yandere i suppose. i explain my thinking more in the tags but basically i think they arent as murderous as your typical sorta “crazy in love” story because they’ve stabilized each other enough that they dont feel the need to do it so much. because if the one you love is Right There next to you why would you separate from them to chase after Another Person?
perhaps this isnt really yandere at all haha, i could be totally wrong with my understanding of how the trope works

My personal opinion
Spoilers
Marvel Writers: Hank McCoy/Beast is irredeemable. He is a despicable villain. The version you will see in the upcoming comics is a clone of himself with only up to his mid-1980s memories/portrayal. If original Beast does come back, it will still be as a villain and he can never come back to the original team as a hero. He has no one to blame but himself.
