i'm watching loki s2ep4 and it is so apparent that sylvie is everything loki used to be. the anger. the scorn. the righteous rage, the cynicism and the strong opinions and the sharp edges. she represents everything he’s matured out of. put up against how loki's so calm and level-headed in the pie room it just shows how much he's grown as a person; he's the god of mischief, yes, but he's chilled out. don't get me wrong— he still very much has his sharp edges. his knives are still tucked just beneath the surface. but he uses them strategically now, like with brad, and they're not just flying all over the place in explosions where he doesn't really care what damage he causes. he's not soft, but he's steady. he's centered and focused where sylvie's wound-up and almost erratic and it's so interesting because you can literally see how hanging around mobius and the things he’s been through have balanced him out, and now he's logical and composed and he's doing it all on his own. it's literally like watching him have a conversation with his past self and it makes his development that much more appreciatable. i love this show.

i was talking with a friend about why it is that we find the hocotate ship and Olimar's interactions so great compared to any other dynamic he has in all the games, and it sorta answered itself over time.

I think it was in a vc that they mentioned that it would be very funny if Collin had a single clue to how scummy Olimar can be and not "a really forgiving guy who gets pushed around and has serious mental problems but passive". Like even with Louie- Olimar sees to it that he apologizes to him for snapping or even asking the forgiveness of others on his behalf. With his own boss he contemplates on the fact that if he had died then maybe work could have been better for others around him and it is his fault for surviving. Even with his own family he would never fault them for any hardships and somehow always pin the blame on himself. All the cured leaflings described him to be kind and determined to save them despite being taken over by the pikmin parasite. Even the koppaites feel sorry for him despite the stereotypes dividing them at first

But you know who he doesnt regret being as scummy towards ? THE FUCKING HOCOTATE SHIP !! that ship doesnt coddle him or pity him in the same way others do and instead sasses back with the same energy. He is soo genuine and transparent when talking about that ship its so good to read those two interact because you dont NOT see that with anyone else

Adorable, cute, on the same wavelength! I love that Kitten remained a surprisingly competent fighter even in his oversized jumper, and he retained the ability to bounce back on most of his dad-in-law's shenanigans! Marcus will always take poor decisions whatever the universe. But we love him for it, because he makes sense most of the time, and then suddenly does something insane out of the blue, that seemed perfectly logical at the time. XD He's got the "why" down, but clearly not the "how"! (Looking dashing in the last episode, too, man's still bandaged to shit but he looks good with a grin and sunglasses!) Now please, I beg. We need to see Kitten in something else than his oversized jumpers. I know he's comfortable, but I would LOVE to see him in a suit! Also special mention to the moments where he really looks like a cat. XD And special mention to my favorite line for him : "Oh, I don't like how clever you are..."

right now i'm obsessed with the idea of hot, super-nerd bakugou 🥺

like !! you knew him in junior high when he had little wire framed glasses and braces 🥺 and was kind of scrawny and a huge know-it-all 🥺 and he was probably very serious about like d&d and didn't allow you to play because it would "take too long to explain" and he did all your paired projects by himself because he didn't want you "screwing them up" !! a brat !! but then high-school comes around and you both separate and don't see each other again. not for a long time.

you go to college not too far from home, but the distance calls for a new apartment and a roommate that you get along with more than you expected to. she's the one with the car and occasionally you have to borrow it, or she'll drive you in to work and pick you up after your shift, when it's too dark out to walk.

every tuesday and thursday she has calc 2, and every tuesday and thursday, she spends most of the ride to work talking about the cute, quiet guy that sits alone at the back of the room. never pairs up with anyone or talks more than he has to. wears big, black headphones so everyone knows he's not interested. top of the class; someone somehow figures out he's been acing every exam, throwing the class average out of whack.

you're called in to work early one day and therefore have to borrow the car earlier than usual. you sit on the bench in the hallway, waiting quietly outside the room for your friend, and the minute the door opens, you're on your feet, peeking past student after student so you can grab the keys and run. you don't even notice him at first, the wall of man he is now; dressed in a black long-sleeve with a beanie on his head, almost hiding his hair but not quite. no glasses, no braces, and there are little hoops in his earlobes and he's grown into his shoulders really, really well.

the reason you look up is because he doesn't hide that he's staring at you, this guy out of the corner of your eye, and you don't even put two-and-two together when you see his face — at least not right away. he comes to a stop directly in front of you and you're just left staring at each other in the middle of a herd of other students, and he simply pulls one headphone off one ear and says,

"hey."

and — that's it. you kind of gape at him because he's much different than the version of him you knew and not half as sweaty or unapproachable and he remembered you. as soon as he saw you. stopped specifically, even though he doesn't talk to most people, apparently.

"uh, hey bakugou." you have to blink several times and clear your throat and your face warms under his unwavering stare.

whatever else he plans to say dies out when your roommate appears, too eager to be involved in your non-conversation, and he simply readjusts his headphones and walks off, only looking back once before he exits the building.

"what the fuck!" a swift smack is delivered to your arm as if you've done something wrong. "that's him, that's the guy!"

and you can't help but to remember him in class, the red rubber bands he wore in his teeth, arguing with a smaller, freckled boy about halo 3. slouching in his seat, leaning back too far until you had to flick him in the ear so his head wasn't all up in your space. sticking your tongue out at him, when you got your test scores back and they were lower than his. wary of how red his little face would get, when he offered to help you study after class.

"yeah," you say, snorting in disbelief. "that's the guy."

I think it’s kind of an odd choice to make Steve bad at school. He would have to have decent grades to play sports. Maybe he isn’t the best student ever and he got more slack being a star player, but he wouldn’t be close to failing. At least before his senior year when he couldn’t get into college.

RIGHT!? I was literally going to add to my previous post about how he was in multiple sports, so he would have been kicked out if he was failing more than one class.

But anyway, I totally agree. I don't think he was amazing at school and definitely wasn't getting all A's throughout, but I also don't think he was failing. At the very least, I don't think he was failing at anything math related.

I've mentioned this before, but I absolutely love the headcanon that he's dyslexic, which was what led to my headcanon of him being great at math. The majority of ELA and history is passage after passage with not a lot of time to read them thoroughly, especially on test. So I understand why he wouldn't like those classes and have low grades in them. And as we all know, his dad gave him a lot of shit about school and grades and trying to get him into the best college he could. So in my mind, it would make total sense that instead of overworking and studying for ELA/History, he would spend the most time getting really good at his easiest subject. Which in this case would be math.

So he would study the most for math and science, leading to high grades. At the very least, he had a B+ in math.

I also think that after his first interaction with the Upside-down, it would then make more scenes that his grades would start dropping, due to trauma and head concussions. More of a gifted kid burnout situation rather than a bad student one.

Anyway, sorry for ranting about this. 😞 Just got really excited to talk about this cause I've been thinking about this headcannon for months and I really just need to make it its own post. 🤷‍♀️

idk I rly don't feel like Katsuki was (only, or even mostly) crying over Izuku becoming quirkless I think he was crying bc of what it might mean for their relationship. Their current rapport is built almost entirely on Katsuki helping Izuku master OFA. This isn't Katsuki (just) mourning Izuku losing his quirk, he doesn't know what else he can be to him

Katsuki saw something in Izuku way before anyone else did. When he learned Izuku was going to apply to UA he didn't laugh along with everyone else, he was scared Izuku could actually do it. If anyone knows Izuku's worth outside of having a quirk it's Katsuki but this will inevitably change how they interact with each other.

obviously losing OFA hit (or will hit-- he probably hasn't fully processed it yet) Izuku really hard and there's no way Katsuki's unaware of that but look at what he said, I thought we'd always be competing and chasing after each other. They can probably still do that, but what can that look like now that Izuku's going to be quirkless again? Do they have any idea? Is Izuku going to want that? Katsuki doesn't know! That's scary!

Anyway this is just me saying Deku needs to get off his ass and fucking talk to Katsuki!! The poor boy's poured his heart out to him multiple times and Deku still! won't! use! his words!!!
