There's only one episode out right now but it has become my current form of brain rot I love it so much

Had so much fun trying out new brushes, researching visual references, and rendering them! I think this was the first piece where I used more than 20 references for as well (probably 50 especially for Lady Godwin's design ;D) and honestly the most fun part was designing their outfits!

Brother Philo (or Filo..?) with of course his robe. Mutt's outfit was also simple in design, but I really wanted his fur coat to give off this soft yet rugged vibe to it. I also actually looked up Sam Elliot for references per Travis' description haha

And then there's Lady Elizabeth Godwin. Oh WOW. I had a blast with this one. When she asked for clothes, I imagined Igor making an outfit for her based off any scraps he had in his lab. I also found a pic of a Victorian theatre actress wearing a guard costume with material that looked like chainmail. I'd imagine Godwin would wear something like that as some form of armor while trying to still look somewhat fancy :)

i am okay with greylock's design but obviously they didn't give him more than one outfit. i mean it's not wrong, giving him another suit for the conference wouldn't help the recognizability, and he's not important enough to give him several clothes sets anyway

but he's important for me okay! i felt like this man would want to appear flashy and get all the attention on some important occasions, he needs cool clothes! and not cool ones too, i won't let him run around in same robes both in summer and winter wtf

all in all here they are - the alternative clothes i thought of

the top one, the second row and the middle one are for special occasions, the rest is for everyday work in castle and home

HEADS UP: I assume you saw the last update before this one, expect follow up on that and the fighting won’t stop there. For fight scenes going forward, expect something in the area of popular shonen. No guts falling out, and probably no chopping off any limbs but like... you listen to this podcast! probably! we’re gonna get rowdy. it’s dungeons and dragons. anyhoo.

Anyway we’re back! and we’re going back to our boys next time and going back to less background for meeeeeeeeee thank youuuuuuuuu. Luckily at least I could limit myself to the same kind of methodology I’ve been drawing the other backgrounds with, there’s just more that has to there cause it’s not just a forest its like, a persons house. which could absolutely have been filled with more things but then it would have been 2023 by the time you got this update so screw that. also yes the details of her house do change between panels yes it’s intentional yes it saved me.

the other thing I guess I’ll address here is spoilers. The comic takes place kinda mid-episode 62 and so, mostly for funsies, will not outright spoil anything after that. Wizened readers know exactly what Willy threatened Tilt with, anyone somehow reading this before finishing season 1 will not. Further on this note, certain revelations provided by season 2 will not be changing this comic! That’s not to say this comic is going to go against season 2. Season 2 absolutely is going to inform more than 1 upcoming scene, but only in the way of characterization. This takes place well before season 2 and so can’t outright reference season 2 events, but characters who appear in season 2 which also appear here can absolutely be informed in their writing here by their future behavior (or re-contextualized current behavior).
