Greylock Tapes: Theia Theory

Spoiler warning for Greylock Tapes.

I commented on this idea in the comments section of a Greylock Tapes video, but I’d like to explore it on Tumblr as well.

In Tape 008, viewers are shown a seemingly random clip of planet Theia colliding with Earth millions of years ago. This impact fragmented Theia, with some of its fragments later forming the moon, and others embedding in Earth.

The fusion of Earth and Theia mirrors the theme of abominable connectivity that repeatedly appears throughout Greylock Tapes, as I discussed in a prior post. Two things that should not have been brought together are now fused. I have a theory about Theia’s role in the story, although only time will tell if I’m on to something.

I theorize that Theia was animated by a conscious, godlike entity before the primordial collision. When Theia collided with Earth, a piece of Theia that got embedded in Earth later became Mount Greylock. The entity inhabiting Theia/Greylock was spiritually scarred by the collision, becoming a tormented monstrosity.

The entity is now reaching out to humanity, corrupting humans who get too close to Mount Greylock in its rage, and bringing together people in blasted connectivity. Like a trauma victim compulsively reenacting a traumatic incident, the entity is reenacting Theia’s fusion with Earth by fusing people, animals, and consciousness together.

The entity can access the human subconscious, compel humans to create violent thoughtforms, and manifest in reality through its Tall Man avatar. For some reason, SimioDyn is aiding the entity in its endeavor.

If humanity cannot find a way to stop the thoughtforms, close the “Black Door” permanently, and subdue the entity in Mount Greylock, it is doomed.

3/23/24 EDIT: I stumbled on more material that reinforces my Mount-Greylock-Is-A-Fragment-Of-Theia theory. In Tape 012, during the “activation” sequence, we see psychedelic imagery of Earth and Theia about to collide, followed immediately by a shot of Mount Greylock. The sequence seems to be showing the viewer that the primordial collision created Mount Greylock.

So, as some may know, the state of analog horror discord servers is. Well. Not Great lmao

So I decided to try my own hand at it and made a server of my own that I will aim to lead better than a lot of the ones that exist(ed) out there. For the most part. I do not hold accountability for when the shadows start biting.

i am okay with greylock's design but obviously they didn't give him more than one outfit. i mean it's not wrong, giving him another suit for the conference wouldn't help the recognizability, and he's not important enough to give him several clothes sets anyway

but he's important for me okay! i felt like this man would want to appear flashy and get all the attention on some important occasions, he needs cool clothes! and not cool ones too, i won't let him run around in same robes both in summer and winter wtf

all in all here they are - the alternative clothes i thought of

the top one, the second row and the middle one are for special occasions, the rest is for everyday work in castle and home

First things first, thank you for your patience. 2025 has been rough for me in many ways, so I've been taking breaks or hadn't the time to draw due to many important stuff.

Secondly, I thank you for this request too. These two have such amazing features and that means they'll be challenging to draw but it was a more than welcoming challenge I actually needed as I was doubting myself due to stress
