Isabel and Andrea worked diligently within their tight time constraints, successfully arranging all the details for the wedding. The ceremony took place on a stunning winter afternoon. In the presence of their family and friends, Diego and Andrea exchanged their vows. To begin, Father Soledad officiated the wedding following Catholic customs. Following this, Kasike Hatuey conducted the Caney circle ceremony.

Wrapped in the Conjugal blanket by Isabel and Diego's grandmother, the couple was presented with two small plates, one with turkey and the other with cassava. They took turns feeding each other while reciting the following heartfelt words: "By giving you this token of my love, I vow to feed you with my devotion. I vow to nourish you with the food of my soul from this day on." With these words, the Taino marriage ceremony came to a close.

A small reception followed, and the townspeople celebrated the newlyweds. Antonio delivered a heartfelt speech and raised a toast, which brought tears to Andrea's eyes. She was not only delighted to be united with Carabi but also relieved to leave behind the recent challenges and embark on her new life with her beloved husband.

On Fridays, Cornelius doesn't go to the firm, and instead does a bit of work from home, helpes around the farm and makes time for family and hobies

Some of the newcomers to Alicel have brought along pets, finally giving Smoke, the old ratter, some company. One of these is Kuai, an orange tabby brought along by Liu Wei. Everyone seems fond of the little creature, although as Ms. Rao once said, "It doesn't seem to have a brain in that little skull of his." Mr. Liu seems to find the comment funny, but only smiles when asked why. Also brought along is Mo, Jeremy Teeth's faithful hound. Dimitry wasn't so sure of letting a dog run around the house (especially one quite so...big) but Mo has been a lovely companion to those who spend their time in the parlor, even if at night he prefers to curl up in the barn!

Welcome back to Chestnut Peak! We are back with the Powell family this time. See what they get up to under the cut!

Things at the Powell household have been fairly quiet. Harry is working hard at taking care of the pigs in order to open up a shop, and he does succeed! (no pics cause I sucked this time lol) Ariana finds out that she is expecting their second child and things progress well and quickly. This time, they welcomed a little boy they name Elliot Harry Powell. An heir to the family name. Ariana and Harry are quite in love and happy with their lives. Their farm is going well, and they are steadily earning money. Before they know it, little Elliot turns one and grows into a handsome little lad. Charity is still growing well. Though she is quiet and often keeps to herself. And they finish off the round with another try for baby. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Note: Sorry for a shorter update. I streamed this family rotation and I didn't take as many pictures. But, to be fair, nothing major happened aside from what was noted here. Ill try to take more for them next round!

End of round stats:

The family paid their $1000 business license and opened shop. They ranked up to level 1.

The pigs had 4 little piglets that will be sold off next round.

Ariana and Harry are now 28, Charity is 3 and little Elliot is 1.

The family started their round with $1512, they paid their business fee and $824 to the crown. They earned $1914, so they were left with $1531 at the end. They are thriving!

Silly Lore Note:

I've been coming up with this as I go, but I guess it's come in handy. In this story, Windenburg is the name of the head state/country, (Florence and Jesus & Co live in the capital or whatever big city so it's just referred to as Windenburg)

Henford-on-Bagley is the rural outskirts. Willowcreek and Britechester are both towns within Windenburg. The names of the neighborhoods also refer to towns.

Selvadorada, Strangerville, and Sixam are different "countries." Sulani is a town in Selvadorada. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.

Decades Simblr Live

I just launched a simblr (@ratchet-decades-challenge) entirely for decades challenge stuff so it can have its own place. Some of it is still in progress (and if anyone can tell me how to get rid of the submit a post option please help).

Since I'm starting after a long time of playing the family tree has some spoilers and is also incomplete because I have a lot to add to it.

In honor of the launch, here are some adorable Victorian(ish) Ratchet simself pics (I realize some of the outfits aren't historically accurate, shhh). Ultimate Decades Challenge

...continuing Year 1304

Bridget’s body convulsed with the intensity of each contraction, threatening to bring her to her knees. The pain radiated through her entire being, a relentless assault that seemed to defy her willpower. But Bridget was no stranger to this process; she had experienced the agony of childbirth before.

In her rural community, medical assistance during labor and delivery was a luxury that few could afford. Women like Bridget often bore the weight of giving birth without the aid of doctors or midwives. It was a reality that carried significant risks, both for the mothers and their babies.

As the pain wracked her body, Bridget silently reminded herself of the countless women who had come before her, the ones who had braved the intensity of childbirth in the most challenging circumstances. She drew strength from their collective resilience, determined not to succumb to the hardships that threatened her and her child. “I will be damned if I give up now,” Bridget murmured through her gritted teeth, summoning every ounce of courage she possessed. Though her husband, Hugh, was away from the home due to his job, she knew his mind was cluttered with the worry of knowing she had warned him of the possibility of delivering their newest child.

In the corner of the room, Bernedicta, was shuffling across the dirt floor as she picked up, not allowing her hands to be idle for any amount of time. She couldn’t let her grandchildren see how worried she was about Bridget. She tried her best to distract the girls, Eleanor and Edith, from crowding their mother, remaining calm amidst the chaos.

In the midst of a chilly, snowy morning in the year of 1304, a healthy baby was born. His name was Elias Stonewall, the first son and heir of the family.

Victorian NPC Replacements

I was inspired by the Medieval Sim Tailor & Carpenter’s Medieval NPC replacements to make these for the late Victorian period. Initially, I intended for these to be for personal use, but after some encouragement from some folks in a discord I belong to, I decided to share them with the community. These are intended for 1900 and in the future, I hope to make more for other time periods as well.

**As always, with new CC and mods, please back up your saves before adding these.**

***IMPORTANT***

These replacements require the hiders and overrides to work. Only add NPC replacement outfits and hiders to your mods folder if you have the corresponding pack installed. (i.e. don’t add the butler NPC replacement outfit and hider if you don’t have Vintage Glamor.)

Place only one replacement outfit per hider in your save at a time. There are two options for the beekeepers. Choose only one of them to have in your game at a time.

Almost all of the CC meshes have been cloned some swatches have been removed, so they should not conflict with the originals if you have them in your game. However, I could not figure out how to clone the mesh for the am maid(footman). It will conflict with original. Therefore, I recommend using mine if you're want to use the replacements (it’s tagged to work as a replacement). Be sure to delete the original package (Mens_Tuxedos_with_vests_HSL) if you have the original.

No longer want the replacements in your game? Then simply, delete the CC items and corresponding hiders/overrides.

Clear your localthumbcache file between loading your game.

*** Known Issues ***

You will see duplicates of some outfits in CAS if the CC was used for more than one NPC role.

Previously generated NPC sims' outfits in played saves may not change, thought I find that they usually do. The only fix I know for this is to delete the sim using MCCC.

Any quirks of the meshes still exits for these clones, i.e. if a mesh clips or if it distorts when you zoom in or out in the original, it does in the clone too.

*** Tips and FAQ's ***

Keep these files and hiders with your other defaults & make sure remove them when doing batch fixes. Otherwise, they will stop working.

I recommended Medieval Sim Tailor and Carpenter‘s replacement for Grimmy

These replacements work well with MCCC's dresser so that you can get rid of most modern clothing on sims in your game.

Need help troubleshooting? I recommend following these steps.

Historical Llama Scouts Replacements

My dearest Mamá,

I am overjoyed that you and Papá are doing so well. I wish I could have been there to witness it firsthand. Please accept my sincere apologies for the lapse in communication. The demands of Alejandro’s duties in the Royal Navy and my commitments at the Hospital de la Santa Creu have kept me engulfed in a whirlwind of activities. Engaging in the noble court’s affairs has been challenging, and I find greater joy in dedicating myself to helping others.

Martín and Sofía inquire about you and Papá frequently, reminiscing about the bedtime tales Papá used to enchant them with. I miss those stories dearly, as they have always brought me immense joy.

Sofía has recently started taking piano lessons, and her progress is remarkable. Apart from this musical pursuit, she also enjoys combining her love for stitching intricate patterns with the enchanting melodies she holds dear. During our leisurely afternoon walks, Sofía’s singing transforms the surroundings, filling the air with a delightful tune that is sure to captivate anyone who hears it. Her natural talent is remarkable, and it’s always a pleasure to listen to her sing.

Martín is quite the chess player; Alejandro has finally encountered a formidable opponent in him. Those two are inseparable. When they are not engaged in a chess game, I can find them riding around the estate. Martín has grown so much in the last few months; his sweet disposition shines through. Alejandro wishes to have him join the Naval Academy soon, just like he did when he came of age. I must confess, the idea doesn’t sit well with me. Despite his growth spurt, he is still so young, and the house will feel so empty without my boy. Am I being overbearing with my caution? I long for your comforting presence, mamá, to guide me in these matters.

As soon as Alejandro completes his royal tasks, we intend to visit. The children eagerly anticipate meeting their cousins, and I cannot wait to come home and embrace you all. Please extend my heartfelt regards to everyone.

Summer 1890 ✿ Pond afternoons

Ophelia, Diane and Clyde have been spending sun soaked afternoons at the pond since their teenage years, and today was as perfect as every other time they've been here together

After much playing and relaxing Diane had to go and left Ophelia and Clyde on their own, they chatted away on their favourite spot - a lonely bench perched on a cliff looking over the sea - and Ophelia tried to pretend she didn't sense something else other then friendship going around...

People always told her that Clyde had interest in her and how much of a beautiful couple they would make, but she never took it seriously... he was her best friend, they practically grew up together. Ophelia was always dreaming about love, but never even considered that it might have been right by her side this whole time.

Later in the week Ophelia invited Diane over to talk about her and Clyde. Diane told her she always thought he liked her, but she should be careful, especially with her mother -who could never know they were left alone on the pond.

Her heart pulls her so many different ways and so often. She wonders if he was upset when weeks later she was being courted by someone else, but she had always been told men pick up women and discard them so easily. Surely, she was going to one of those come a week, a month. Is it not safer to do so before anything further happened? Before feelings grew deeper? If only it was so easy to say that is why she left. Took what she could and headed out to Alicel. It wasn't. The truth has been sitting in her for longer than she cares to admit, she wants to build something; really build something.
