Hello! My name is precious and this is my blog to promote and share my art! I am currently in the process of creating and starting up my own online business!

I will start off by selling woodblock art prints and stickers! As a Hmong and queer feminist, I will be doing art work around the Hmong, LGBTQIA+, and feminist cultures.

I hope to progress and make enamel pins, bookmarks, and possible clothing and tote bags!

I truly hope I can gain support and love from Tumblr! I have been on Tumblr for gosh, who knows how long and it is truly the only social media I use on a daily.

Dec. 29th

We always say the year flew by, but I definitely really felt the rugged transitions throughout the ride. After college, I had this itch to return and write my blogs again. For months I contemplated, I’m happy to say here we go! During my middle school years, I kept a journal and also had an extensive online journal on Tumblr, (I may or may not have deleted haha). I discussed my relationships, poems, and shared my music, however, as the years grew I wrote more about other aspects of my life. Overall, I guess writing has always allowed me to cope with stressors in a way that discussing will never suffice. In college (not too long ago) I found it difficult to balance my obligations and stopped writing in my journals altogether. I neglected this reflectional part of me that I didn’t realize made me feel whole. 

So here I am.

I think I’m ready to revive that part again. 

This time I want to also want to document more of my life, family, passions, and dreams. I hope you stay for the journey as well. Oh and happy new year!

My mother

We did not have much when we were young. Though, if you had asked me then, I wouldn’t have known the difference. Looking back as an adult, I can honestly say that so much of how I handled things were directly related to what I saw from my mother growing up. I know my mother did the best she could with what she had, and from conversations I’ve had with her as an adult, she clearly did not have much either.

My mom’s first marriage was toxic at best and abusive at worst. I remember my mom and my biological dad fighting a lot. Not just shouting but also physical abuse. I also remember he use to chase us trying to hit us and one time my mom did step in between us and him. I just remember jumping on this old old old couch we had. I remember thinking, wow....my mom loves us so much that she’d stand up to a man/our dad for us. I never questioned if my mom loved us even though she also beat us. 

Looking back at how close my siblings are in age and knowing more about pregnancy, I often question if my biological dad raped my mom because he owned her. We emmigrated to the United States in 1989, she had no one else. She only had my sister and me on the way. My mom says that she didn’t want us to be alone, so she had more of us. But I’m not sure my mom even understands consent to this day. She ended up having 5 of us with my biological dad and I feel grateful for that. My siblings will always be the best thing that my mom ever gave me. I feel fortunate for all the things that that means from her having the ability to have kids to her giving up her body in every sense for us to have each other.

Eventually my mom decided to leave my biological dad. I remember it was a windy day. We didn’t have anywhere to go, my mom was carrying my brother and sister while my 2 other siblings and I held hands. We eventually ended up at a women’s shelter. I don’t remember too much about that or really what was even really different about it because we were already so poor before that we all slept in one bed together so it didn’t matter that we were again all sleeping in one bed together. With the help of the amazing people at the shelter, my mom was able to find housing and apply to be our caretakers. I remember going to the beach, going for walks, hiding under the covers with my siblings late at night, and wondering if we’d ever have a dad again. 

Once we left my biological dad, I only saw him one other time since then. From 3 to 31, I have only seen him once and never again.
