Cashew is the sweetest girl. She hasn’t huffed or balled up yet, she’s just very curious and it seems that she doesn’t mind being handled much. Some notes under the cut, for those who want to know more about her care!
Currently, I’m feeding her a mix of Hedgehog Precison, Solid Gold cat food, and the cat food her breeder had her on. I’ll slowly wean her off the cat food the breeder was using because I’m not a fan of it. She loves mealworms, but I’m hoping to get her to try dubias and crickets later this week.
Right now I’m using fleece bedding with plenty of digging spots. She hasn’t used her wheel yet,and seems to have litter trained herself to poop in her fleece forest...I’m going to move them over to her actual litter box to see if she’ll use that, but if that doesn’t work out I can always use a puppy pad in the fleece forest.
She absolutely loves her crinkle balls; she just carries them around for 10 minutes or so. She’s also super chill with sitting in a snuggle scarf with me while I do chores or read.
Food puzzles for the poky babies! First three are the hedgehogs - Henry smelled the new smells and came out to try and get the goods. No luck yet (he was trying to dig through it), but gonna see if he can figure it out tonight. The last one is for Spoon. Since he's in torpor and not that active or eating much anyway, I didn't get too fancy. Just wanted to see if he had any interest!
the hedgehog breeder just contacted me about the hedgehogs she has available! she’ll be going through the waitlist on monday. i’m #6 in line and there’s 3 males and 5 females available, and i’m hoping to get a male so fingers crossed! i’m just so excited for this hedgehog 🥺 i have my enclosure 100% ready for him, and i’m letting the CHEs run for a few days to make sure they work properly.
